Best tzatziki, best service! The food here is so comforting and literally nourishes my soul - always leave satisfied!

We were on the danforth late and only a few restaurants was still open. The food was not bad and the portion size was good. We sat on the patio so we didn’t get to see the inside. The staff was friendly and the price was reasonable.

Order large takeout order and they got everything right. I swear when ordering takeout and finding out they missed or messed up your order is the most infuriating experience. Nice to have no issues. Thanks for making our party great.

The server was super friendly. That's why they call it the Friendly Greek Mediterranean Grill. I purchased the lamb chops from here and it was indeed succulent like the menu described.

My favourite place to go for greek food. Greek chicken salad and chicken pita is amazing.owner and staff everyone is very nice.

The service was great, the outdoor place is nice, but the food itself did not meet my expectations.

I work nearby the restaurant and all I can say it is my favorite place to go to whenever I feel like eating Greek food. The staff and owner are polite and always make me feel welcome. The food is delicious and the service superb.

Inimate setting with a authentic and diverse menu. Excellent tasting food (calamari and lamb souvlaki dinner) which was fresh and delicious.

Was not disappointed, pork souvlaki was amazing. I was disappointed with the calamari, it was not crispy like I like it, but that could be because I'm just not in the restaurant.

We went for New Years Eve dinner.late lunch really. We hasn't eaten at The Friendly Greek in many many years. The chicken souvlaki dinner was delicious and so generous. I had to take food home. And they really are the Friendly Greeks. We will be back.

Delicious, as always. The staff are wonderful and always remember us. This is our usual Danforth dinner.

Gotta say, I was disappointed in my lunch, as was my friend. I had pork souvlaki on pita. The waitress brought catsup and vinegar for the side of fries. The vinegar was a shock.the hole was much larger than expected and gushed all over the plate. So I expected a strog vinegar flavour. Must have been mixed with water, because I could hardly tell.
I then opened the souvlaki, onions, and tomato with tsatziki wrapped in pita. The pork was tasty, but there were two tiny slices of tasteless tomato, lots of thin sliced onion, and watered down tsatziki.
My friend ordered cheese pie and salad. The salad was your average north American style Greek. But the cheese pie was hard as a rock, and hardly any cheese to be found.
The service was fine, but considering it's called the Friendly Greek, the server didn't seem interested in bandying the name about. She was nice and efficient enough. And we were greeted and served in a timely manner.

This restaurant’s name is perfect, the attention is really friendly and warm, the waiter is really nice! And the food is great! Lower price for really good quality food, is a must go!

Excellent food and fast and friendly service! My gyro plate was so delicious but honestly the sides of roasted potatoes on the rice really made the dish for me! Would definitely come back for dinner or takeout!

Yes yes yes yes yes! GO HERE NOW! Absolutely the BEST grilled kalamari I have ever had in my life.

We are visiting Toronto and always love to come to Danforth. Was a busy Friday night but the server (Kevin) hustled and we always had everything we needed. The grilled kalamari is a must - Yiannis is an amazing owner/chef! The tzatziki wasn’t my favorite ever, but totally worth it to get the trio of dips so you can figure out which ones you like. We got pork souvlaki (skewers) that was SO good, we basically ordered another round for dessert. Often on a Friday night you might feel rushed out of a place but Kevin made us feel so welcome that we kept ordering more and more. Can’t wait to come back next year. (If you haven’t gotten the memo yet, get the grilled kalamari…but also the plate of olives was ️️️). And the outdoor seating was perfection!

Edit to add we got baklava for *real* dessert … O. M. G. SO GOOD! I might just order a whole tray to take home with me. Holy cow it is GOOOOOOOOOD!

Let me tell you about this place. The owners, the staff, the people, the location, the service, the food.everything about it is superb. Fantastic. I don't live in Toronto.but I make the drive from 1 hour away just to eat here. That's 1 hour on the highway and the gas I'm willing to trade for this delicious food. Thank you Friendly Greek!

The friendly Greek lives up it it’s name! We had such a fun evening with our server Kevin, the plates are very healthy portions and the food tasted so fresh and delicious. We tried the Dolmakia (grape leaves stuffed with rice and herbs) Greek salad, pita, gyros plate with potatoes and roasted vegetables, Salmon, and vegetarian pita wrap. The warm baklava at the end was such a treat and made me feel like I was back in Greece. Truly an eat with your eyes closed/food dance/enjoy every bite dessert! A must go spot if you are visiting the Danforth!

Best Gyro in the city. They also make the best dips. The Tzatziki, Tyrokafteri and the hummus are so flavoursome.

The use to be the best Greek food on the Danforth. Not anymore, but it’s still better than your average Greek restaurant. They gave us free desert and free beer. Yes, free beer does exist. No WiFi or keg beer.

Food taste good but prices went up and portions went down. I’ve been a loyal customer and I’m upset with my experience. Food was a tad cold.

Very well located. Patio is great and staff friendly. Food is ok. I can’t say what kind of meat they gave me. It was like shaved hamburger. Fries and calamari was very good

Food was pretty average, I ordered a vegetarian pita with fries and it had no fries? Also tried the tyrokafteri dip which was a little too spicy but had good flavour. All around okay and decent food but you can get better prices and food at other restaurants. Messini has $5 vegetarian wraps that are pretty bulky compared to here where I paid $10 for the same thing without fries.

Excellent service. Friendly staff. Great outdoor patio space but keep in mind it is close to the road, so traffic can be noisy. Food was excellent. Great selections on their menu and was served in a timely manner. Totally enjoyed a delucious lunch meal.

Horrible take-out experience. Flavourless potatoes and rice, wilted salad, soggy garlic bread and the worst fried Calamari I have ever seen. Farrrrr better Greek food on the Danforth than here. My experience was based on about one year ago, maybe biased but I have to mention a little bit. I ordered a take out and come to pick up my food. One staff rudely told me that I can’t park my bike near there door. I also remember one day I eat at their patio, I went to the washroom and shocked to find that their dish washing room was exactly located behind the washroom…. And there was a unpleasant smell comes from it and inside their entire building…. I urge Ontario ministry of Health made a investigation about their sanitization.

Friendly staff with quick service. Huge portion sizes and appetizers are a meal in itself! Clean washrooms are located in the basement.

The appetizer dip made with feta cheese and hot.peppers (I forget the name) is amazing! Food was well portioned and tasty

I ordered 2 wraps and got 2 sticks of souvlaki wrapped in foil with no toppings and plain pitas. Why have wraps for order if you don't bother to make them.

Got the souvlaki dinner and calamari appetizer. Food was good but the pita was literally 2 toasted hot dog buns? Never have I ever been served hot dog buns instead of pita bread. Left unsatisfactory

Best lamb that I've had in a long time. Very friendly staff and didn't wait long for our take out, even got a 10% discount on our food for coming in and ordering.

Normally it would be four stars but you don't get the dining experience right now because of the way Toronto is. However the food is still great even the grilled calamari is probably the best on the Danforth. There's discounts on all take out because all the restaurants are hurting and there's deeper discounts if you use their website as opposed to Uber or others getting 15%. They have their own drivers that need the jobs.

Great food! Super friendly! Amazing Tzatziki sauce! Good price! They work very hard and the food is amazing! My order was done quickly in about 5 minutes and they were extremely busy when I ordered. Will definitely be back again:)

They live up to their name. The Greek owner/chef pays attention to flavour and freshness very clearly. Tzatziki was so good, kalamari was homemade and delish, burgers juicy and BIG, fries crispy and hot. Super clean (ketchup bottles spotless) and attentive and excellent waiter service. I asked for something to be prepared slightly differently (to avoid gluten) and they accommodated my request graciously. My kids and I will definitely go back again.:)

It’s hard eating out during COVID, and Greek food is one of my favourite dining experiences. I spent so much time on the danforth trying to decide on a spot. Finally settled on The Friendly Greek. I didn’t put my order in properly and had forgotten to combo my salad and spinach pie. When I got to the cash I asked her to add it after I’d already paid, and she just gave me the salad. “Don’t worry about it”. That’s the kind of love and customer service that makes ordering out fee worth it. The team there was friendly as the name suggests, definitely coming back!

Classic Danforth spot. Smaller than the old location that was closer to Carlaw but great patio and food still amazing

Stopped into the friendly Greek Sunday while out for a ride on the bike. Had a Hero for $6. Was awesome. Meat was tasty and plentiful as were the fresh tomatoes and onions. And the sauce was outstanding. We will for sure go again

I really wanted to like this place, but the food was sub par at best and not gonna lie, I expected more from the danforth. Fries were oozing grease and were very bland, and my roommate and I are 99% sure we were just eating a $1.99 pack of Uncle Ben's ready rice.

Wonderful people, and the food is both tasty and plentiful. Takeout is easy to order by phone or online.

Budget-friendly Greek food in Greektown. Better than Mr. Greek IMHO. Most of my family really likes the chicken souvlaki dinner, but I usually go for the lamb fournou (shoulder). At one point they served an awesome greek pastry dish - lamb, feta cheese and spinach in thin layers of pastry - called exohiko, but I haven't been able to get it there in recent visits.

Had a great experience the first time around with a group of friends decided to bring my partner here the next day order the two can dine dinner for 44.45$ The starters were good but there was hair in our potatoes and rice when informed about the hair they blamed us & kicked us out the store refusing to serve us anymore food. They don’t wear hair nets and we’re very rude and aggressive we still wanted to pay for our meal but the chef wasn’t having it!

Delicious Greek food for a great price. I had the dinner special and I couldn’t finish my plate because it was too much food. I definitely recommend this place.

In my Greek tour around Toronto, I found this amazing place to delight me at every bite. Great job guys!

Used to be great food with the famous large Greek portions, complete with thick chunky chicken sticks and lots of feta cheese. My last experience was nearly the complete opposite. Half the regular size chicken and a drizzle of feta over light green and yellow lettuce complete with enough oil to soak everything in the bag. Of course the only thing that didn’t change is the price which is now far too expensive considering the quantity and quality.

We used Doordash. The food was piping hot. The chicken souvlaki was the best tasting we have had. The greek fries were delicious. Honestly everything was excellent. Couldnt ask for better.

Rice and Potatoes are in a bland tomato sauce. Chicken was dry. Tzaziki was sour and garlicky with no “real” tzaziki flavour.

The food is just bad, you can see that its pretty lazy rice is just instant rice and vegetables are frozen veggies. Meat is overcooked.nothing good here at all.

I always enjoy the food, however I may rename to the "un" friendly greek, the woman, assume boss never seem to enjoy other than her kind of people that enter her door. Or may she only speak greek. Just always seem grumpy to people that enter her door. The employees were helpful.

Not worth the money. It was a mistake to go here with so many other spots. The chicken is dry and looks like decreased nuggets gone wrong. The rice is bland with tomato sauce plopped on. Go somewhere else.sad we were thinking it would be okay

Want my honest review? If you don't mind paying a lot of money for small/peuny portions, then order food from this place. The Chinese people/restaurants give better portions and you don't feel ripped off like you do after you order from this restaurant. The Calimari appetizer is the biggest rip off ever from their menu. Not even close to generous portion. $14 plus tax for an almost empty take out container wirh holes everywhere, FLOATING IN A POOL OF OIL, amd dripping with oil. The amount that they give you, is very disappointing. But they don't care. Theyll take advantage of the fact that they can scam you, because you order from home. And they are stingy on Gyros pitas, very little meat, tomatoes/onions. Your better off ordering CHINESE FOOD. They will give you better portions for your dollar, amd you wont feel so disappointed/ripped off. Chicken souvlaki dinner? You pay 16.95 plus tax for bland tasting rice/potatoes (lacking flavor) that you can make at home, souvlaki DRY AND FLAVORLESS. Absolutely NOTHING SPECIAL and definitely NOT worth $17 plus tax, for boiled potatoes/rice, dry, flavorless souvlaki. There is my HONEST REVIEW!
