The Fry

The food was amazing. Customer service was good- quick and efficient. Although the food is a bit on the pricier side, it is definitely worth it. Everything we got tasted fresh. The chicken was incredibly hot and crispy. Our server even gave us a complimentary sweet corn dish, which was super appreciated! The seafood soup was delicious and had a good spice to it as well. The Fry is definitely a restaurant I would go back to:)

I love this restaurant, the atmosphere is so nice and chill for teens. Service is a tablet so no taking to people. Best place

Food was great but pretty pricey, music was a tinyy bit too loud. Only complaint is I wish the tables were seated a bit further apart, a little awkward beside strangers

Fored tips at 15% and the reason is most people give at least 15%. If that’s true why does they force the tips?

So tasty but the corn didn’t come out hot and had too much butter. The chicken never fails to satisfy my craving though!

Quick, kind, and friendly service, we took a huge group there without a res and they were very accommodating even though we were probably a difficult group to deal with; great quality food and lovely atmosphere

Got fried chicken at 1am. It was tasty and lots of food. Fries were a little sweet but loved all chicken.

Please upgrade your kitchen. I ordered an appetizer size egg soup to go, and I could understand it’s Friday night and you will have dine-in and take-out clients to attend to but a 50min wait time for an egg soup is just ridiculous lol

I have been missing this delicious food since the fry on Elgin in Ottawa died. Super worth the trip. Amazing service and great taste! Prices are still okay for being Toronto.

5 tables in service and only got fries not one table has chicken on it for over 30min. Got full on the sides I will just pay for fries and leave…

This place is terrible. Over fried, extremely dry and they give you the worst parts of the chicken. Service is also brutal. One waitress was hanging out with her friends while there was literally 20 minutes between when the fries were served and then the chicken.

Forget ALL the fried chicken places you know and come to this place for the best fried chicken and rice cakes there is! Thank me later!

We've been here twice.the first time we went a little Korean boy served us. I asked if they could make rice cakes without meat, he said the chef said it wasn't worth their time but the food was ok; so we went a second time.the second time a lady served us and we ordered the fried chicken (for my friend) I asked if they suggested anything vegetarian for myself, she suggested rice cakes.the food came and the rice cakes were mostly fish cakes, and they brought 2 orders of fried chicken. (the same little Korean boy) brought it. I said I don't eat meat and I only ordered chicken for my friend.he took it back and said we had to pay for the extra food anyways.so we took the extra home.it's kind of hard to order as they don't have a physical menu/ prices.

Visited this place for dinner tonight. We ordered Boneless Fried Chicken Tenders in spicy sauce and chicken Dumplings.
Oh my, the boneless Chicken was super spicy n sweet. As a spicy food lover, even I couldn't tolerate the heat level.
Dumplings were neat n tasty.
Special mention to their Corn with Cheese (Free item with all orders).

Their fried chicken with some side food which is great. Especially the fried corn.
The chicken portion, even the small one is enough for two if you are not hungry. It was crispy but I couldn't taste garlic as the name suggested. A bit also overpriced but overall it was good enough to come back again.

Fried chicken at its best. Had two different flavours, spicy savoury sauce and garlic soy sauce. Both were really good but, I really liked the Garlic Soy more. Cheesy fries is must. The calamari was good too. Will go again.

Ordered twice, both times take out during weekly specials. Wednesday yang-yum large chicken bone-in and Thursday boneless.both times excellent food, no complaints!

Ordered from this location for dinner tonight. This is maybe my third time ordering from here. Got old skool chicken and boneless special half & half. Got the soy garlic sauce and fried chicken in sauce. Great great combo to get - highly recommended. The portion is quite a lot. I’d say probably good for 3-4 people! They always put two cans of coke as well.
FYI - last time I ordered “in spicy sauce” and it was very spicy? - only get it if you can handle spicy food.

Food is decent but customer service was really bad. Other reviews mention the same thing about how customers are being treated. Obviously doesn't apply to all employees but better training needs to be done. Management/corporate needs to look into this.

What happened? !? !? !? !? !? ! This used to be my favorite Korean chicken place but the quality of chickens are not same anymore. Batter was salty and was not as crispy and barely any chicken.deeply disappointed and I am going to find another place!

Chicken is wayyyyy too sweet and overfilled with sauce. Butter garlic fries was topped with an artificial sweet powder and we had to brush off the powder. Corn was too sweet with the creamy sauce. Everything was just overly sweet and not a good balance of flavour. Im consuming this is the case for all korean fried chicken store.

Enjoyed some great fried chicken (bone-in) with soy garlic sauce (small). Plenty of food for 1 person, and very friendly service!

Their fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The soy garlic sauce had a unique flavour, and tasted great.

Loved the cheesy corn and the Korean garnishments too. Will definitely come back for dine in again, or order takeout here more in the future.

Made the mistake of ordering pickup. The app says 20-30 mins but it’s more like 1-1.5hours. For fried chicken. And the lady give no information whatsoever. She didn’t even bother to check on the order and is completely dismissive. I work in food service so I understand but at least give people genuine and honest information about their order. This makes me not want to eat from this place again given how expensive the food is.

Hasn't been as good as previous years that's for sure.

However, still would recommend the half and half. Green onion plus one more. Fries haven't been as good.

I used to love their fried chicken but i was very disappointed today. I ordered boneless fried chicken and there was barely any meat.it had thick batter and not juicy at all. Super dry and we couldn’t finish it.had to throw it away.

The food wasnt that flavourful. The fries were below average. The service was bad. The chicken was decent. Ambience was okay but the playlist was on repeat. It’s expensive to go alone so go with friends

We tried the honey garlic boneless chicken along with the garlic fries! Thankfully we aren't vampires! The chicken was fried perfectly and the fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the side! The customer service was amazing and the bathroom was clean! Amazing first time experience! I highly recommend! I bestow upon this restaurant the transfer from "Places I would like to try" to "Favorite restaurants"

Good service and a much better price than bbq.also gives out coupons which you can trade for a fried chicken.big portion fried chicken $35. One slight problem is the fried chicken may be a bit more greasy than bbq

Really bad customer service with a bad attitude, also really stingy and impatient, overall bad experience

This used to be one of my favorite places for delicious Korean fried chicken, but I notice the level of customer service has gone down ever since they opened back up after covid.
I used to be able to call in to order takeout. However the last two occasions when I called many times, nobody picked up the phone. I thought they weren’t open yet but when I went there, the restaurant was indeed open and not busy.

Today I ordered a large chicken special which is $22 on Thursdays. The girl who took my order charged me regular price which was $37 with tax. Maybe it was a miscommunication but I came back after I noticed the error. She refused to give me a refund because I had already paid, and said they cannot change it. She did not even offer anything to compensate the extra $15 dollars I paid.

I am indeed disappointed by the level of customer service, the food is still good but you’re going to lose customers if you don’t pick up the phone or make charge customers correctly!

The amount of fried chicken we got was really good for the price but i didn’t like the sauce that much. Overall it’s a good place to go

Their fried chicken is kinda random tbh. One day it taste very rich and crispy, but on another day it taste dry and rubbery. Gotta work on with their consistency.

The chicken is absolutely delicious. Its fried just right and the meat inside has flavor. The frying locked in the juiciness pretty well. We got the Half and Half with half being original and the other half being yang yeomg sauce. The portions were enormous! The waitress said it was for two people but can easily be for 3.

Ordering any chicken gets you a free plate of corn cheese and it sounds way better than its name!

The only thing is they only seem to have one beer variety (sapporo) and the banchan wasnt very good. It was just cabbage drenched in too much white sauce.

Also the atmosphere is very dark

Delicious prefer this location over Bloor for quality. Very busy during dinner rush but worth the wait. Lots of flavour portions are huge. Definitely prepare for leftovers.

I got the fry wings and fries for 11.99 (Tuesday deal). Really generous food portion and great food quality. The wings are very tasty but not greasy (big thumb up). And the fries are also really good with the cheese powder. I was hesitant at first because I don’t like The Fry in Ottawa but apparently this location is way much better.

Great Korean fried chicken and decent prices. Soy and garlic chicken could be more flavourful but the traditional Korean glazed chicken is fantastic. The only thing to know is that ordering from here can take quite a while and they often don't mark the app order as complete, so you have to go in to ask when you estimate it'll be finished. I've had cold orders a couple of times because of it. Very annoying.

I had never heard of Korean Fried Chicken before but my friend was insistent on us trying it. So we went by and omg its world changing. You gotta check this place out, only downside is service isn't the best but the food is worth it.

Ordered the spicy boneless chicken. Sauce was good. The meat was very reminiscent of bb.q chicken chain. Has a specific texture, which is certainly Korean fried chicken style. Only issues were with service, as the food was extremely slow. Lady who took my order then forgot my order.

I honestly didn't know what to expect. I got the craving for fried chicken when l.walked by The Fry. I looked at the Monday special and went for it, with a side of butter garlic fries. I was pleased by every bite, the chicken and the batter was delicious. The French fries were the first of there kind. I was very pleased. I definitely will.try something else on there menu again.

The guy that I encountered and the lady by the cashier didn’t wear a mask and acted rude when i asked about my pick up order

Pretty good. Thought at first it was a bit pricey but each order comes with a generous amount of food. Took a really long time to prep so beware if you're looking to grab something quick. Original fried was much better than the sauced versions imo, at least if you like crispy chicken.

Amazing chicken! Got the half and half + green onion chicken and it shared plentifully for 4 people. Quick and attentive service and reasonable prices.

Ordered chicken online. Delivered 1 hour late. When it came, it was cold like it's been refrigerated. Meat was so hard and it wasn't crispy anymore. Horrible horrible experience with 0 customer service from delivery.

Garlic soy sauce fried chicken is soooo good! Also loved the spicy seafood soup, very spicy, great for a cold winter night.

Always love to visit this place for korean fried chicken. I think out of all the korean fried chicken chains available here, the fry offers the best combo of taste, price, and quantity in Toronto. May not be the best but it’s still very good based on other factors!

I have been to this location before with my boyfriend and never had a problem. I don’t know if management has changed or staff but as my boyfriend and I walked in we were greeted with attitude and felt extremely unwelcome. The server assumed we were with another group because they were white and my boyfriend is white. Totally unacceptable and racist.will never recommend or eat at this disgusting location again.

The fried chicken is so good and has never disappointed. I would highly recommend it, but their garlic fries aren’t that great. Just opt for the regular fries instead.

Cheap and quality eat. One portion should be enough for 2 to 3 peoples. Many people recommended the onion fried chicken but I strongly recommend you to try the sauced Korean chicken. Call the half-half portion which will served you two type of chicken with 2 difference sauces. Delicious!
The free side dished includes: pickle radish, cabbage and corn with cheese/butter.
Around 35$ for 2-3 persons is definitely a good deal.

This Korean fried chicken is so crunchy, tender, and flavourful. I usually get an order of the boneless green onion fried chicken and one boneless soy garlic chicken with soju. If you get your order to go, it's good to call in beforehand so you don't have to wait for it to cook; they will give you some pickled radish and a drink with each dish. If you choose to dine in, they will give you complementary kimchi, radishes, coleslaw, and buttered corn on a hot plate.
This particular location looks quite grungy and worn (door doesn't close properly sometimes, the floors are slightly greasy, tables are sticky, very dim lighting, etc.), but the chicken is just so addicting that I honestly don't mind at all.

It's slipper when there's snow but the food is nice. The chicken is a little saucy so if you prefer it drier get the crispy fried chicken.

Disappointed with this place. Ordered take out and was waiting for an hour when they said it would be about 30 mins. After the hour I went to the front counter and they said it was ready. They didnt even let me know that it was done just let it sit there on the counter for at least 10 mins. Never again.

This place has become so expensive. I just ordered a regular fried chicken with green onion, and the portion this time is only 2/3 of what I got 2 months ago. Not worth it anymore

The food was great! Ordered a soup and a large half-half chicken and it came very quickly. The two servers were very quick to provide service and to help clear the table when we finished each plate. The only bad thing was that the floor was super slippery and we, and many others, almost slipped coming in, out and around the restaurant.

Ordered boneless fried chicken as take out but got the one with bone.i could've ordered the same thing with less from Galleria next door!

First time visiting. AMAZING chicken. Crunchy even though I got it with sauce.

Wait time was very annoying as I had somewhere to be after. Had to wait about 30 mins to get a table and then another 20 for actual food.

The food is good I don’t blame them but expect a wait in the evenings for sure. Narrow space and okay service. If you do takeout they give you a side and a drink. So that’s nice. Price is good for what you get.

The chicken tasted great and the portion was HUGE (we did the half and half special which is $31). It was enough chicken for 4 people. The garlic butter fries were awful and I do not recommend them, just go for original fries. Their spicy sauce is great and I found that the service was pretty good too. They do get busy very very quickly, but we went around 5: 15 (they open at 5) and were fine. Around 6pm the line ups started.

One of my go to places to get korean fried chicken in downtown toronto. Generous portion and decent price! Usually very busy at dinner times (would wait around 30 minutes to get a seat). Chicken is very good, however they are inconsistent with their fried chicken sauce sometimes (sometimes it’s very spicy, sometimes not really) and service is a hit or miss. Sometimes service is very quick and good but sometimes it’s bad. Would recommend getting takeout during peak times.

THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN I HAVE EVER HAD. So crunchy but so juicy. The portions are massive and there are a ton of flavours to choose from.

Stop thinking of where to go and eat at the Fry.

Absolutely mouth watering food. The chicken has many options. Portion sizes are humongous and can be eaten by 3 people. Portion pricing - 20 dollars. Would recommend making some person size or less wings. Great spicy food. Would highly recommend trying this if you’re ever in Toronto

I would have given this place no stars at all if I could. No doubt food is good but the staff is extremely racist. If you are not Asian, stay away or be prepared to experience racist behavior! Surprised this place is open in Toronto, a multicultural city, and still has racist staff.

I like the half half spicy and soy garlic sauce chicken. The taste is really good for me. I also did take out for this and the box is easy to carry and they will give you free soda can.
