The Galway Arms Irish Pub and Restaurant

First time there a Thurs lunch. Hardly any customers. Had beef sandwich stomach felt awful for next 12 hours. Another at my table had same also stomach issues. Waitress was delightful. I certainly see no reason to return here

Nice little neighbourhood pub. Live music which was not too loud or intrusive. Guiness was poured well, which is a great sign of a proper Irish pub. Although I didn't have any food, it did look good. I will have to stop by and try it soon.

Chill pub with two rooms, lots of screens for watching. Live music on weekends, delicious food and generous portions. Friendly staff, busier for events/sports/weekends.bathroom in basement.

Brought relations visiting from Ireland to the Galway Arms the other night. Mick was a fantastic host - so kind and sweet and funny. The food was great and my relations were delighted with the place. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful memory.

What a fantastic venue. It looks, sounds, and feels like an Irish pub. Because it is. The traditional Irish stew was incredible and spot-on. The fries are excellent and crispy - some of the best I've had in the city.

As of the writing of this review, the wings are actually the best I've had - and I eat a LOT of wings. The sauce is the perfect combination of tangy/spicy/sweet and has an excellent vinegar balance. The wings themselves are perfectly crispy on the outside despite being sauced and very tender on the inside while being completely cooked. This is how I like my wings - and this is how I will be getting my wings for the foreseeable future.

It's all pub fare, but it's Irish pub fare, and they clearly know how to make it the right way! Only thing missing for me would be a live band - maybe they have one on another night of the week (I'd not be surprised) and if they do - I'll find out because I'm definitely going back.

Love this pub! First time visiting it with my partner and we loved it.

Having grown up in England, I really enjoyed their Sunday roast dinner and sticky toffee pudding (huge serving size).

Would love it if you promoted the Sunday roast dinner (a flyer or website) as I didn’t know you offered it till I asked. Also some more traditional roast dinner additions would be great for Irish and British patrons such as Yorkshire puddings (can get them frozen if needed), and some roasted root vegetables.

The burger was flavourful and very tasty with a home made patty. Delightful!

Was looking for a good pint of Guinness in the GTA and stumbled across this gem. Taidgh and Jordan the 2 barman were very welcoming and poured the best pints of Guinness I've found to date. Great spot, good atmosphere and made better by the friendly bar staff. Will definitely be my new local!

We had a 35 year reunion there and our waitress was awesome she was very attentive to maintaining orders.

Family owned Irish pub with great beer! The Irish stew and mashed potatoes were delicious! My friend had the Shepherds pie, which turned out a bit too runny.but the waitress was nice about it and offered to exchange it for sausage and mashed potatoes, which my friend loved.

All and all, quaint place with delicious food.

Wow I guess this place is doing great through the pandemic. I am trying to give them my business but every time their online ordering is down and the phone line never gets picked up Good riddance.

Great staff and taps.havent had their food but saw others get it and it looked good. Typical pub fare. Very good pint of Guinness! These kind of places are hard to come by now

Staff are friendly. Service is good. Food is standard pub fair and reasonably priced. Parking is limited in the area.

Staff were friendly. Ordered the roast beef sandwich and salad also a side red pepper soup. Soup was amaziiinggg the sandwich how ever was blan no taste the au jus taste like water. The horseradish was sweet? Never heard of that. Place clean good vibes tho

Dined in. Enjoyed the nachos and burger. My husband had thw fish and chips and said they were good as well. Great service, good portions and reasonable prices.

Went there for lunch with a colleague, the service was great, we had the special of the day, philly cheese steak & salmon stir-fry which the server changed for us to chicken, food tasted great & fresh, will definitely be back to enjoy the patio again and the great selection of beers on tap!

Went here on a friday night and had a great time! Food was good and the beers on tap are to my liking. Only negative was it took a long time to get even approached once we sat down and the time between drink orders was rather long.

Had the pleasure of dining at Galway Arms on Sunday, March 13,2022 for lunch. The service was great. The dishes we had were the Fish Tacos, Bourbon Burger and Shepard's Pie. The fish tacos were really good - well battered fish with yummy guacamole. The poutine wasn't the best I've had - shredded cheese instead of cheese curds and the gravy was a tad salty. The Burbon Burger was massive - hubby had to work to take a bite, but he says it was delicious and the flavors of the burger were on-pointe. The Shepherds Pie was not as impressive. The meat in it appeared to be just a burger pattie that wasn't chopped up. There was a couple burnt side pieces in the dish as well. The side of onion rings were good though. All in all, we would eat here again.

Sweet potato fries are the bomb, the service can be slow. Be patient though, they're just always busy.

The service was really bad. No waitresses only 2 men that worked behind the bar. Waited over 30 minutes just to order a drink. The food even took longer to come. Food was good however. They need to hire a few waitresses.

We were quite frequent customers before Covid but post have found the service and food to have 'lost focus'.
I.e. Having sent back lukewarm wings 2 visits in a row, 10mins for someone to come to the table, etc.
Don't know the cause but it doesn't seem they have someone at the helm full time.

Chips were dry and not tasty at all. Onion rings were too oily and soggy. Had an upset stomach the next morning. Pretty disappointed.

Order: Potato fries and Vegetarian Quesadillas

Quality: fries were crispy and taste was ok (4/5). Quesadillas was really good though it was very cheesy. If someone is not a fan of cheese then please ask the server to make it less cheesy.

Cost: not so costly. We were two people and it's cost us 25 dollar including tip and taxes.

Ambiance: we sat in a patio. Very good arrangements in winter. They have heater outside for each table. Very comfortable.

Service: it was good. Server was very nice and polite.

Another great evening at the Galway. Thank you Michael! Such great and friendly staff. The table behind us were very rude to Michael and he handled it with such grace. Always a great time!

Servers are very nice and the place has a friendly environment too it.

Food and service were both OK, but the place does have a very classic pub vibe. Showed up a bit underdressed for a late dinner after a long day moving, and despite a limited number of patrons, the servers did take a while to come by (they were also working the bar). Others that showed up 10 or so minutes later than us did get menus first, and there were some stretches with empty glasses. Was particularly hungry after the move, so it was a bit frustrating to see, however normally not a huge deal. Prices are a bit steep for what you get in terms of food - Shepard's pie had some hardened/burnt ground meat, and the nachos had a fair bit of toasted cheese that missed the chips. Might come back if convenient.

Fantastic and yummy food, I loved the character the place has, and the workers were very welcoming. I will surely eat here again.

I adore this restaurant! They prepare fantastic food, their menu is varied, The cook in that restaurant is an expert, I love very much eating all their food. The dishes are always tasty, the service towards the guests is good. I visit often this place and I not even once was unhappy. I highly recommend it.

This place is worth a visit. They have big portions for fair prices. Always clean and with fantastic ambience. Will come visit again.

Wanted to support local. Service here always great. Food was generally good, but wings were not done well this time round.couldn't finish them. Was a bit surprised. Everyone else happy with their meals. Maybe a one-off.

I celebrated my PhD yesterday in this great restaurant. Well we had a superb evening and the restaurant was absolutely one of the reasons for that happy gathering. The crew contributed in a very nice way, the meals were appetizing and my friends were very glad. We shall absolutely return for more joyful events.thanks very much.

We arrived at this restaurant for dinner.we heard about this restaurant from many people. Well, we were not disappointed. The staff members welcomed us with a smile and we felt good. The meal was fresh and delicious. We loved this spot very much and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Recommended.

At the first moment you step in that restaurant they give you an enjoyable feeling. Very courteous stuff, it is a kind restaurant to hang out with your friends or with your date.yummy meals, talented chef de cuisine, decent cost and courteous service. Highly recommended.

I gave 2 stars last year after being a bit disappointed and started coming back this week. Oh well, they say anything is worth giving another chance! So I came twice this week and I am not disappointed at all! Food was awesome and service was Outstanding! Mike made sure we got a spot even though we didn’t have a reservation.thank you Mike for talking to us and making sure we got a spot. Galway arms is back on our favourite list!

I tried this place before with a friend and I am addicted ever since. I enjoyed the excellent mood and flavorful food and drinks. Keep up the good work.

So far, I have been in this place twice, since I arrived in Canada (came here on February 2020 just before the COVID took over the world) and there is only one thing I can say, I'm impressed, not by the beer (which is really good and authentic) but by the way they treat and understand people, even the ones that misbehaved once. The place, the owner, the people are as good and real like the Guinness they have!

The meals and service were beyond our expectations. We truly liked the vibes of this restaurant. Extraordinary spot to take my family out for lunch.

It was weird and very dark inside. Not much food selection to choice from. I won't go back or recommend to anybody

The service is consistently quick, excellent vibes, nice staff. I will return here again when I get here.

The staff are always friendly, the foods always good and the beer's on time. It's a good watering hole.

Service was adequate, though the waitor didn't know what a "session ale" was, so that's always a clue that your ale purveyor is not too plugged in. The food was very rudimentary. Waiter didn't bring any "au jus" and the fries and rings were greasy and unappetizing. Won't be back unfortunately

This spot is worth trying. They serve large portions for affordable prices. Constantly well organized and with great vibes. Will visit here again.

I have been going to the Galway Arms now for several years now. In the summer their front patio is a great place to have a snack of potatoe skins dripping with cheese and bacon bits and sour cream for dipping. Also try their fish and chips. People come from all over for the crispy lightly battered fresh fish. With their extensive menu from wings to roast beef and home made soup there is something for everyone. I have even taken my small dog with me at times just to sit outside in the summer to have a pint.
Not to for get the friendly family staff that always never to fail to great all with a great big friendly smile and a sincere hello.
Come in and enjoy a great time for a snack, lunch or dinner. Or just a pint and watch sports and special entertainment on weekends. They also have ousterfest in October.

This place is good if you are going for drinks only. I tried the burger and I was very disappointed. The food was dry, tasteless, cold and overpriced.

Group of people were practicing as a band. I kindly asked them to refrain from playing during the game 4 for the raptors as i came to watch it and responded very rudely, asked if I owned the place and continued to play. Other than that food and service were great
