It's just great. Family platter is lovely to bring to share.

A+ watching family lick the garlic sauce spoon when they think it's hummus.

Garlic King is something.of the past, a novelty and riding on its legacy and fading reputation. Authentic Middle Easter street food it is not, however tries to replicate to some level. Much closer to a middle easter late night eatery you might find on the streets of Dubai. The beef shawarma plate was good, combined with the mix (rice & potato) plus two sides (Tabooli & coke slaw) is perhaps the best combo … Tabouli is amazing, perhaps the best in Ottawa, the beef was flavourful, yet slightly dry, the rest I would have to say lives up to the Name “Garlic” … Oh it’s garlicky alright.in my opinion too garlicky … and my rating “date night spoiler” level of garlicky… at least it spoiled my date night!

Been driving past for many years, finally stopped in. Can't say the experience stacks up to the reputation. I've definitely had better shawarma at almost every other shawarma place. Even the garlic was pretty bland for the so-called "garlic king". The donair meat in the platter was overcooked and dried out. The staff member who served us, while very nice and pleasant, was so chatty it quickly became annoying as we waited patiently for our food to be prepared. The atmosphere certainly left a lot to be desired as the place shows a lot of and and lack of upkeep.

Edit: at least they were nice enough to slice some more fresh donair for us to take home after they asked how the meal was and we provided honest feedback.

The wrap was very good, ingredients are very fresh. I would however avoid the potatoes as it tasted very strange. Customer service was really good.the guy behind the counter was friendly and I think garlic king himself made the wrap.not 100% sure.

Best place on planet earth, beats any place ive ever been to! A must visit if your in Ottawa

My aunt and uncle took me and my wife here for carry out while we were visiting. The owner is an absolute gem of a human being. Great food. Please support this local business!

Orleans staple and some of the top shawarma in the city. The quirk helps it stand out from the crowd.

The food is absolutely delicious. I dated a Lebanese man for 10 yrs and I have never had fattoush like the garlic king … sooo delicious and tasty. I get way more then I pay for.always great service. I eat here on the regular.love the food and Garlic king is such a sweetheart.goes way beyond for his clients.

I got sick last time I ate from this place. The young girl who served/prepared our shawarmas wasn't wearing gloves. Very bad quality of salads. Not the same as it used to be.

One of the best shawarma if you like garlic as the ame implies. They do a toasted shawarma that is unique to them and its really good.

Best shawarma in orleans excellent qaulity ingredients very clean kitchen.never in many years did I have any issues or problems.the best of the best a must try.thank you Dave my friend

Been eating here (gluten free) for the last 5 years and I've never been sick once. The owner and the staff are great and follow strict protocols to avoid cross contamination and ensure safety if you are or have celiac disease. Great food and amazing service, would highly recommend as a safe place to eat it you are gluten free!

@halimi i was actually there a couple days ago when this happened, i dont remember seeing you but maybe you were hiding behind a mask no one knows these days with covid, what happened is the young lady was closing up plates with almost no meat in them and the King kept telling her please wait dont close the plates yet as he needs to add more food. You have to give credit where it's due. The king will always be king. Thanks again for the best food and service as always!

Right off the bat, super friendly. Everyone there had a smile which was nice to see after so long. I ordered a big monster plate to go.

Food was really good, beef was well seasoned and marinated so it wasn't chewy. Spicy chicken was also well seasoned and tasted great. Last few times I've gone to other shawarma shops I was getting fatty chicken. How is chicken fatty? I don't know, but here it was just pure chicken meat, didn't taste or see any fillers.

And of course, the garlic. I wanted a strong garlic and this didn't disappoint. Excellent texture, was well done and they were very generous with it as well.

Tabouli was also surprising, it had the perfect texture and lemon/salt/oil ratio and you don't feel like you're choking on a big piece of dry parsley.

Only thing I would do differently next time is order extra meat because it was so good it flew off the plate. Wish I'd taken a photo of what the plate looked like before it got eaten because there's nothing left of it now.

Me and my family have been coming here for year fresh food great staff and A KING WORKS THEIR! Must try food!

Not good, no flavor, spicy chicken not spicy in the slightest, mediocre portion even for the "monster"

I really want to give this place more stars because the food is not too bad, but the service experience is always unpleasant. The older guy who works there (usually take orders) who I think was very rude to me on multiple occasions. Not sure if he's just trying to brand himself as an old friend of customers or just trying to joke around, but his attitude is quite rude and lack of manners as a customer service provider. I don't think I'll be coming back here as my first choice from now on.

I absolutely love this place and everytime I go in, the food is always perfect.
Unfortunately, whenever I order through a delivery service (Skipthedishes, Ubereats) the order is always messed up: (I get my shawarma a very specific way and i’m not sure if they don’t read the order notes but i’ve even put in the notes very clearly what i want.i’ve given them many tries but unfortunately i will not order delivery anymore as it’s not enjoyable: (if you’re going to order, go in!

(Still) The Best shawarma place I’ve ever tried.

The food is perfect. Huge selection of sides, salads. The meats are delightful, and the garlic sauce is by far the best one I’ve ever had. They also have my favourite garlic potatoes and rice.

The portions are big which is a huge plus, and for the price it’s definitely worth it. I can get two full meals for myself out of a large platter.

The only critique I have is that the chicken is a little dry, but the variety of juicy salads and sauces more than make up for that minimal flaw. 5 stars!

Great place, the owner is a very proud owner and it shows in the service. Garlic potatoes were awesome!

Good meal as always, I hadnt been in a very long time. Looks like they are struggling a bit which I was sad to see. Hope business picks up for them. Its nice to see the familiar faces and good food as always!

I met the guy 8 or 9 years ago one night trying his place. The place was nice (different location), and guy was very passionate of his business and his city. Food was fantastic.

Fast-Forward 8 or 9 years, I give it a go again.

Location was not as nice. Inside looked like a construction site. The staff were odd to say the least. Unprofessional, yes. Food was nothing like it was. Garlic was still more than decent, but the rest of it really fell flat_

Did see the crown van again.
