First time I ordered there steak n eggs asked for poached runny eggs I didn't get toast for either order tried call n haven't been able to contact them but very disappointed
They changed the eggs Benny recipe. I will not be returning for this small portioned no toast different peameal version. This review should really be for 1 star. Why would you change this recipe from 3 months ago.pretty disappointing. I've come here for a few years and now I will not be returning for my favorite eggs Benedict dish which is now trash. Thanks.
I visited this restaurant on my last day back in Toronto and I'm glad that I did. Everything from the esthetic to the family atmosphere and the food, especially the food, blew me away. Pancakes the size of tires, a western sandwich to die for and hash browns piled high, this will be a required stop whenever I go back home.
I’m been going there for eons. Stopped when the new owners took over. Plates went smaller to give smaller portions at higher prices. Well I went back last weekend. Breakfast and service was good. I would go back again. The only thing I will complain about is they never fixed or replaced the AC unit and that place it is absolutely hot. Not never changed before and now it’s not nice to eat in a warm restaurant with minimal AC on. If it wasn’t for the fans they would not have customers
Great food and even better service, from Dimitri at the front to any of the wait/bus staff we had a flawless first visit. Biiigg generous portions and the price is just right. Food is simple, same gies for the decor but thats the nature of this kind of resto. Our family look forward to being regulars here!
When we got there the server in charge of the front was very overwhelmed and we weren’t acknowledged for a while. Understandable since the place was packed so we didn’t pay mind to it.
Hidden Gem, busy breakfast spot that is clean and has delicious food. Nora took care of us and she was very responsive, inviting and attentive to everyone in the restaurant. The food was fresh, hot, and not greasy. We were so happy with the service from Nora and Marcus they really made our visit.
From the one cook in the back to the bus boy and dishwasher you could tell they worked really hard to keep the customers happy and the place clean.
We are so happy we found this breakfast spot, and will come back!
Wow Wow, this place is awesome. I was full with joy and honour to be served with Excellent customer service. The meals are on another level of taste and cook with love. This is my second time attending this restaurant. The staff are Amazing and well dedicated to what they do. Myself and family would like to thank the managers and Staff for their Excellent service and tasty meals.
Best breakfast in the city. Staff is super friendly. I get the sampler, with 3 eggs, homefries, bacon, sausage, ham, toast and two pancakes. The order is huge. I can never finish but I look forward to it each week.
I didn't even know of Gingerman restaurant until Rise & Dine was closed yesterday (monday). It was SO SURPRISING for this neighborhood, I've lived over 5 years now and been traveling to Golden Griddle, Sunset grill or Cora's and I've been SO DISAPPOINTED.
Gingerman is a small but cozy place, the home fries was fresh not greasy, same with EVERYTHING else being FRESH! The hollandaise sauce is nothing like I've tasted elsewhere, light & tasty and super delicious! Even my picky toddler ate the fresh to deaf blueberry pancake! That says a lot! I'm so glad I came across this hidden place and look forward to trying their lunch menu!
Great, clean local greasy spoon type dinner. Staff were friendly, fast and efficient. I had the Pork suvalaki which was well prepared and a rather large portion. Their spaghetti was large and tasty. The fish and chips were good but the fish is not fresh battered.
J'ai le ventre pain, j'ai fait le pain ici. Pain/20 pour le pain et les patates. Je n'y ai pas bu de pain rouge mais leur pain étais pain de bonheure. No pain no gain. Must go restaurant
Very warm staff and the brunch is yummy as well. Local brunch spot with a lot of neighborhood folks dropping in for a casual brunch. It's a perfect greasy spoon if you're in the area. The portions are also big for the price. We had an Egg Benny with Peameal bacon and Turkey Club. Would recommend 100%
Best place in good ol' Scarborough for a proper breakfast / lunch or dinner.
Old school, local family run diner/restaurant in an unsuspecting mini strip plaza (of course). Defiantly a hidden gem.
I have dined in many times - their portions are almost too generous. Great egg benny's, chicken souvlaki's, their Classic club house sandwich is off the charts.
I recently had their "Hot beef" dinner (see photo) - a very comforting and homestyle feeling came over me as I was enjoying it.
Always terrific service from the ladies - the cook is also a very friendly guy.
Nostalgic was the word that I could think of as I walked in. This place reminded me of the northern greasy spoon restaurants I used to eat at with the daily specials as a child. The server was incredibly helpful and charismatic. The food was exactly what you expected it to be. This restaurant is not shy of portions either. As I left I was completely stuffed and had to take the rest to go. The price range is decent as well. If you're looking for a greasy spoon like place to eat, this is definitely the place to go. I will definitely be going again in the future
