Interesting and historical event venue. Not as brightly lit as shown in the photo though especially on the balcony. Craft Fair markets get a good turnout here.
Very intimate setting. Lovely selection of music. The choreography, particularly for the tango ballet, was fabulous. I benefitted from the preamble to each piece of music. A most talented quartet!
A beautiful facility for weddings or other special events or fund raising galas. If you're planning an event I would certainly check this venue out. Very ornate and rich looking - loved the mezzanine in what I would call the grand ballroom that is complete with a stage. A perfect site for concerts or recitals. Several stately smaller rooms which can be used for a variety of smaller type events Stairs are a bit steep, but thankfully there is an elevator (no elevator to the mezzanine). Parking is difficult - you use a Green P or pray for a spot on the street. Staff were not very friendly. One bar staff spent several moments talking to someone that I believe they knew while the line grew longer. I would recommend that bar tenders, etc.being employed undergo service training. Otherwise - a lovely and well maintained venue!
We had the most wonderful night at the candlelight concert. It was a beautiful venue, the string quartet played flawlessly and the ballerinas were an absolute delight to watch. We left the concert buzzing from the atmosphere!
The venue is beautiful; the room is gorgeous and the acoustics are great. I was there for a concert, and the venue was the perfect size for an intimate experience. The staff were all super friendly which made the night even better. Definitely would love to go back for another event!
The staff were very friendly and accommodating for me. I required a chair due to my disability and there weren't anymore available. They were very understanding and a lady working there helped me get another seat into the hall. Not having a chair really would affected my ability to enjoy myself. The venue was big but felt intimate at the same time. The bathrooms were very clean. We very much enjoyed our night and the performance. I'm glad that everything worked out in the end.
Great venue for a comedy show. Only issue is that the bar line runs right up the middle of the venue which gets in the way of patrons seating themselves for general admission events.
I went to The Great Hall to see and hear the great Sun Ra Arkestra last week. It was my first time since the building was fully restored to its present glory. The experience was exceptional as the hall’s sound system was beautifully balanced and clear. It’s a hall suited to many types of concerts. The floor has a nice bounce. So I’d imagine it gives you a lift when dancing. More seating might be a good idea for certain concerts; only had a few stackable chairs available. Maybe wheelchair accessibility should be thought about. The hall is on the second floor.
A cool, unique venue in Downtown Toronto. There's not much like it downtown! Been here for a few different events and love the vibe of the place. It just feels like a piece of history in Toronto with a great setup for live music.
A very special venue of Toronto. Visited this place for Lewis OfMan show amd absolutely loved it. Staff is friendly. Drink prices are a little excessive imo. Overall a great and small venue!
Very intimate venue I enjoy going to but service can be slightly better. Almost every time I ended up waiting in line outside despite the weather conditions. No concert ever start on listed time.
