Home Depot isn't the place to buy your kitchen appliances.

When I was there in mid-December 2023, I met with a salesman and he pointed out two brands that he said were tops in the industry: LG and SAMSUNG. He further said I would be getting a $100.00 discount off the $1,844.00 price but that only applies if you sign up for their credit card. I was just about to buy the LG; my spouse had seen it the night before, when suddenly the salesman said that repairs are extremely expensive. His statement made me reconsider and I decided not to buy it. I wanted to go somewhere else to see more models.

Next I went to a high end appliance store in the city and it's salesman told me that Home Depot is not an appliance store and he's right. It does not know the best makes and models available and he further stated that the LG brand was the worst refrigerator on the market.

I then learned from him and his colleagues that:
Whirlpool, Amana & Kitchen Aid are the best appliances to buy bc they have the fewest repairs. You will also want to stay away from buying Frigidaire appliances on account they have extremely poor customer service, that I know from having a Frigidaire oven and it has been one problem after another.

The Home Depot salesman told me
today's appliances are made to last about five to eight years. To me that is ridiculous.

So at the other place we looked at many brands, two counter depth refrigerators were on sale for $1,187.00 but unfortunately were too small for our space and may fit your space. Then we moved on and learned about a brand from Australia that is made in Taiwan, available in Canada and is built to last TWENTY YEARS! Yes it is more expensive ($3,400.00) and with tax it was $4K. The original retail price is $6K. We liked this Fisher and Paykel brand and bought it. I believe this brand has been in Canada for about 4 or 5 years. I also found out that many appliance repair persons do not know how to fix this brand because they haven't been exposed to it.

I went further doing my due diligence and I read many reviews online that stated the Fisher and Paykel brand was horrible, parts were hard to find and so on. The statistics however, from our salesman showed very good repairs in the thousands.

So far so good, our refrigerator is silent > I never hear it running. It is spacious inside, a water dispenser is on it's front panel and when installing the water line it can be run from under your kitchen sink, even under your kitchen floor and doesn't need a hook up just at the rear of your unit. This company also gives you names of servicemen who will come and install the water line for you at a fair price.

One things for sure is that Home Depot is out. And it will charge you $200 to remove your old appliance. In comparison, the other store removes it and takes it away for free. Bonus: while you decide what to do, the store we used sends you off to a nearby coffee shop to chat it over. The coffee & tea is complimentary as well as your breakfast, snacks. That was also really good customer service.

Btw - the place where we bought our refrigerator has a sale from January 2nd to 17th, 2024 > it's save the tax. In addition it had unique refrigerators for vegans where you could convert half of the freezer into more refrigerator space for all your produce. Other refrigerators had cabinets. It was totally cool. The store name begins with my favorite letter "C". Good luck to all and happy new year!

The customer service and support provided by Ravin in the Windows and Doors Department was exceptional. Ravin was very professional, knowledgeable, and went the extra mile to help with a long list of doors that I needed including fire doors and European design doors. It is this excellence in customer service that makes clients look forward to visit the store again, and makes the Customer Support Representative stand out from others.

I am very upset. I came to make a copy of the keys in a hurry. I asked the consultant, she told me to find another consultant, but did not say where, while I was catching up with the first seller, she told me this was not her department and I needed to find someone else, but did not say where. Left without a copy of the keys disappointed. They were friendly, but I didn't have time to look for the right department a third time.

The cashier at the Garden Centre, Arsham is super rude and unhelpful. He asked us to order what we already had in the cart online because he is too lazy to check the price in the system: (

I really like this store, much more products than in other stores, thanks to the sellers for displaying the products that are easy to find, also thanks for the service of the employees, I go here from Vaughan, Maple although I also have a home depot near me. Happy Canada Day.

This is second time that im going there and they dont have painter plastic sheets.i was told by manager that to use the rolle plastic sheets instead, Which is for floors not walls. Not going there anymore.

Cashiers and web orders and curbside pickup are excellent at this location. But when you go into store and ask for help from an associate, you can't find anyone. But! There are times when many associates are visible and they are chit chatting together and they make you feel like you are interuppting them. Overall associates are all unknowlegeable and point you to wrong aisles for basic things and give poor advice with no consequences. Most associates that are younger appear to be lazier.

Very organized and clean store. Keivan in Kitchen & Bath was amazing, he helped me find a good vanity and since it was on the top shelf, he brought it down with the machine right away and assisted me to find the right faucet. Thank you.

One day I showed up to look for an item, the guy showed up and the door as soon as I entered gave me a nice greeting and welcome in store, asked him are you the manager and he said yes. Well he deserve the position even more. Thanks

Clean. Well stocked. You can find almost every thing.

Did not have what i was looking for. I asked 3 different staff members and no one could tell me the did not sell the product I was looking for, even when I showed them a photo.

Had blinds cut.ends were rough and frayed. Employees were fine, I think the blade was dull and the measuring was not great had to cut several times. I ended up leaving them behind.would you install them in your house? Went to a blind place had custom made ones yes they were slighly more money but at least I don't have to look at sloppy end cuts.

I was there today 15th Nov around 5.45.
First the cashier supervisor was only spending time to lock in a credit card application. I needed help and she was saying two mins, two min I spent 15 mins to be checked out.

The most incompetent staff I have ever seen.

Great customer service in the paint department today.really helped me out with explaining what paint i should use in the bathroom and what brushes work best to complete the job right the first time

Friendly workers, a great place to buy homegoods. J. T was extremely helpful when I wanted help with paint for my apartment.

Well stocked and organized location. Staff is very friendly, courteous, and helpful. As most all Home Depots, you can never get through to them on the phone, and you can never depend on the inventory being accurate online to what there actually is in the store. Home Depot really needs to get on the ball on getting those phones answered, getting department's to answer their calls, and to adjust the inventory numbers online. Stop wasting customers' time. Give customer service.

Horrible customer service.

I have replaced my kitchen cabinets with their product Fabritec and after few years, the cabinets colors all faded and their border crumpled

I called many times and emailed the head office but no reply - completely ignored me

Now. I am trying to get offers to replace my house doors and windows and they just ignore all my requests

Nice place to get home supplies. Lots of selection, and while I wish there was more people working there, the ones that do are very helpful. Heather was a great help when I asked her for something with just the bare minimum of descriptions, and she was efficient and polite in helping me, someone who doesn't do home stuff at all, find what I need.

I always come to this location. TABITA is the best customer service! And amazing personality….

I am a frequent goer to this place & usually love to spend time here, but sometimes I just need to go in & out fast to replace something or buy something in middle of work & today was one of those rush days unfortunately.
I was just changing an interior door that usually takes only a minute or two & it took exactly that for the wrong one.
Then when I found out that the product is not what I wanted & asked for help, 3 supervisors or higher people to call for an associate to come & help but for 15 or 20 minutes, nobody showed up & last guy told me that if I go to PRO desk, they could help me the same way!
I am standing right where I have to be in the DOOR & WINDOWS department & nobody is helping me, now you are asking me go to pro desk to bring someone here to look for product that I am looking for?
I wish the gentleman didn't even try to help me because that advice mad me to leave this review.
I believe, you either do the job right or just don't do it at all, whatever your job is.
At the end they didn't even have it & I end up going another location to pick it up after a long time frustration.

Asked employees for help with an item one offered to call another and the other said "no" im so confused i thought part of the job was helping customers, new world, new horrible workforce

Same as usual but today the lights were dim in the entire store. Maybe they were trying to save money. Could barely see the products.

My experience with home Depot has been good so far, nice staff, good quality, maybe there are some items I've found overpriced but nothing I'd actually purchase from there.

I have had horrible experiences with the curb side pickup with this location and thought that once in-store shopping was allowed that customer service would start to be at an acceptable standard. This is not the case, I had to wait over 30 minutes just to get a single piece of wood cut even though I asked multiple employees to help me. An immense waste of time and very frustrating as employees do not care.

Thank you Home Depot! Thank goodness you are back open, I could never have explained what was needed. Stay safe

Staff very unhelpful. No buggies in garden centre. Staff just said have to go search to parking lot for one.

I left and bought my flowers at Super Centre. Very nice selection there and staff pleasant.

The guys that cut my lumber are great but the slightly bald man in the pick up section with bunch of pins on his apron is rude and bad attitude.

Helpful and polite staff especially in customer service and I have good experiences there, thanks to Aida and other staff

Very large and well supplied. When we were unable to locate a very specific part we needed, a staff member suggested another place. We were able to find the rest of what we needed and check out through the automated check out

If I could only have one word to describe this Home Depot and its staff, it would be incompetence. They have gotten wrong, or even completely ignored till it got automatically cancelled, every pickup order I have placed at this location over the past year. Staff are completely clueless when you call, if you should be so lucky to even get through to a staff member. I haven't had this type of experience at any other Home Depot in the city. My guess why only this location seems to lack the mental and/or physical capacity to walk along aisles and put items into plastics bags is that the Dufferin and Steeles location has a problematic workplace culture, fostered by inept and incompetent managers. This workplace culture is seemingly characterized by ineptitude, laziness, and arrogance. I would advise against anyone shopping at this location until corporate gets involved and cleans house, because it is a complete gamble that a customer ever gets the merchandise they paid for and are owed.

UPDATE first time on my history store called back!
plumber associate assisted to find the part was needed!

1.store not calling back, 3 times I was asking that plumber will call back it never happened
2.previous time to reach a plumber I spend over 1.5 hour in total on the phone, they didn't call me back
3.3 options what happen when you trying to reach associate:
1 plumber on launch (it can be 11: 20am, also 1pm, also 2pm on different days)
2 plumber department not answer and redirecting you
3 somebody on the help desk see him in the area and give him phone

Hey Management if y ever reading reviews can you check what happen to plumber? Please not use him as cleaner/packer or whatever or let him be near area with phone/cellphone?

Staff usually run away when they see a customer wanting to ask a question, or if you need something cut. But if you know what you want and need, it is usually well stocked.

Everything you need for your construction or renovation or repair work, under one roof.
People say Home Depot is sometimes more expensive than other stores but I would rather to buy at Home Depot to save lots of time and have the peace of mind for quality and returns.

If i could give this place 0 stars i would. Employee at the gate said he would help me instead sat in a shed in front of me for 40 minutes then came to ask if i needed anything. I said yes he told me he would check if my order was ready and returned to the shed.i have been here for an hour and a half and have been ignored multiple times, the only solution one employee had was to cancel my order instead of checking on anything themselves.this place is a joke and i’m convinced they don’t want to even sell anything

Social distancing restrictions and rules are being followed. Lots of helpful and friendly staff. Very fast service during my curb pickup run today.

A little confusing at first, but has almost everything you need for your upcoming next home building projects.

Long line at the check out. All others are self checkout that no one wants to use. They will not put more staff at the registers thinking they can force use of the self checkout. Not happy with that.

Nice and educated staff, roomy, priced fair products. This place is a great place for your home improvement stuff.

Good service, they dont really have great discounts, but generous return policy and staff is knowledgable

Always when I do a project I know if I can get stuck and I missing something and I need something small or either Vika I always can count on Home Depot, it’s everywhere whenever you are maximum you can drive 10 minutes and you get to Home Depot and you get everything if you’re stuck in a project. The prices can never be the same as the prices as we get from our dealers but when you were on site and you stuck with missing tool or any other equipment Home Depot is saver.
By the way they also have the ranting services that this was very helpful when you stack even though I wouldn’t give five stars on that just because the equipment is a bit of used and he really has to check it before you take it because sometimes you get missing parts, and in many occasions the system was down so I was struggling to get out of there on time, but like I said when you stuck it’s helpful

Always a useful store for the homeowner. Like every Home Depot this place has a wide variety of items, is well stocked, kept clean and well lit. Not the best price for some items, like standard cleaning supplies or light bulbs but you can find specials and some specialised products. Don't show up late on Sunday after the DIY crowd has emptied the shelves, otherwise it's a fine store.

One of the few places I go to nowadays with ample parking. This is one of the original stores and it has changed over the years.

Only thing that didn't change much is the friendly staff. Okay a few of them are spectacular and some are less than so, but that's retail.

Recently I placed my first online order and was very happy that it was filled quickly and pickup was a breeze.

Unfortunately, I have to come to this Home Depot since it's the closest one, but I have to say that If you have a chance or just have internet, really don't go to this location! The stuff is really lazy and if you ask them where something is, you hear "oh maybe it's down there, ask someone there" and when you ask "someone there" they send you in a completely different aisle, and you just get lost. The stuff in this particular location sometimes costs more than in other stores for some reason. For example just compare the price in this store and other stores for Hue Bridge. And finally, so many times I have experienced when I go on their website and it says that this location has like 5 things available and when I come its sold out, but the website says otherwise.

When I think any idea or I want to make any renovation first I want to go home depot because here I can get the things and good explanation that's the main point

Good store but their staff is non-cooperative. They won't help you in case you need their help to find out a product location in their store.

Went in for paint and painting supplies. Managed to get three Behr paints matching Benjamin Moore colours by simply providing the BM names. The man helping me was patient, insightful and friendly.
