Over charges for parts, labour and all aspects of simple jobs. Purchased more parts than needed for the job and charged customer back for those. Would not recommend, they are looking to take advantage of those who don’t shop around.

Once again the home improvement group has done an amazing job on the two rooms being painted. We are so happy with the job. The customer service when you call are so helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend them. Please thank Dexter for an awesome job well done.

Fantastic job by the Home Improvement Group. Fabio did an amazing job staining my staircase to match my new Laminate flooring. He also did an amazing job painting my kitchen cupboards on a previous job. Aldo did an awesome job creating a custom mantle around our new fireplace from a picture we gave him and it matches identical to what we wanted. Thanks again!

I had a terrible experience with THIG. I would give 0 stars if I could. I deeply regret believing their deceptive advertising and online presence. They put more effort on marketing and commenting on reviews than they do in the quality of their work.

At the end of 4 stressful months they pressured me with a disclosure agreement saying I could not claim any issues with their work and or post any negative reviews online or they would fine me $1000 per review. That is the opposite of “exceeding customer expectations” which they claim in their marketing and responses to comments. I did not sign the agreement.

It makes me sad to think of how many people must have signed this form scared of the consequences or unwilling to pay the $300 I paid to go see a lawyer for advice. I would therefore argue their online reviews should be considered with caution.

To summarize the issues, poor quality work and unprofessionalism:

• Terrible project management and scheduling of work
• Workers regularly being late or not showing up
• Rework of tiles and interior brickwork required
• Lack of protection on site after promising multiple times to cover in plastic
• Lack of communication throughout the project
• Inflation of plumbing and electrical hours charged
• Violated electrical codes by covering a switch box in the kitchen with tile

The Home Improvement Group repaired a leaking skylight in my homes family room. They were professional, prompt, efficient and friendly. Best of all they were under budget. I would definitely recommend them.

Horrible experience! Over billed, extremely late and had to check their workmanship.
For a 6 week project, the Home Improvement Group took over 6 months to complete! Work was not delivered when it was supposed to and workers not on site for days.
To top it off, when I recieved the final bill, they double counted an amount of $1974 which I luckily found and submitted material costs 61% over their plan!
I wish I had known what I now know about this company. Would not recommend to anyone. Take some of the positive reviews with a grain of salt.the President and relatives are posting 5 star reviews here, so their rating is positively inflated.

I contacted The Home Improvement Group for getting an estimate to do the flooring in our condo townhouse. I called The Home Improvement Group to fix the kitchen faucet. The faucet exploded and left us with a kitchen full of water. The plumbers came right away and fixed the problem quickly. They finished the floor beautifully, installed cabinets, added wall storage and provided me with a personal space. The electric fixtures in the basement look pretty cool too. The best thing about this company is that they work as promised. The team did a great job in installing new fixtures in our master ensuite. The crew takes every task seriously. They arrived on time and finished the job on time. They cleaned the area leaving the bathroom looking new.

Worst company ever. Contacted them to do a job and they sent me the worst contractors. Wanted to be prepaid substantially which is not typical for a contractor doing service work only. Would not recommend.

Contacted THIG for a bathroom renovation and new floors for foyer and kitchen! They sent someone out on July 13,2018 to assess our space and provide us with a quote. We were very up front about our available budget and instead of telling us they would not be able to work with our budget they said they would work to come as close to our budget as possible.we were also advised that our quote would be sent to us within 72 hours post weekend. After several calls to customer service we finally got our quote on July 30,2018 (almost 3 weeks later NOT 72 hours as promised). Not only did we wait 2.5 weeks for a quote but our quote was also 6-7 thousand dollars above our budget! They also did not include anything about our foyer and kitchen floor in the quote! Again after calling them (no one called us to discuss quote) we were given a $200 decrease and we were also told that I would not be able to write a review of my experience unless I used their services? Based on this experience alone and the huge difference between our budget and their quote we decided not to move forward.who knows how things would have been dealt with if we decided to use them? Not worth the risk despite all of their reviews!

It was a great experience to work with Tottenham Handyman & House Remodeling. I would highly recommend their handyman services to anyone. This company for me is the best you can find in the area, and they also offer very affordable services.

The owner's name is Douglas. He has lied to is multiple times through a very small reno, delaying the project many times, sending subtrades that did poor work, and being unresponsive when he knows he has made a mistake. This is not the comany you want to use.

I had called to get a quote on a paint job corporate promo which was quite good, but they informed it would not be 'honored' as I would need a 'customised' quote, so i get a quote which was very high, the manager calls me and reduces it after, and then there are some other adjustments required- which he said he will send a revised quote- in the meantime I decided not to pursue further business and I replied back politely by email, and to my utter disbelief I have an email reply from a GM' You have been black-listed from our company for future business ' as it seems you had asked for a quote in 2015 and now as well', so does it imply that once you get a quote, you have to accept it? And in any case does a professional company reply back when they lose a potential customer the way the GM has replied me in this age of customer service? I would caution anyone intending to do business with HIG
