The Judge and Jester

I had the chicken wings, dry and hot. The quality of the wings was top notch, extra veggies and awesome blue cheese dip.
My friend had the homemade chicken pot pie! It looked fantastic and she said it was delicious.
The rest had awesome burgers at our table.highly recommend this place.

Service was great. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. We were a party of 3. We asked about vegan options and our waitress asked the kitchen on our behalf. She came back with a few options. I had the classic reuben and the other 2 people had the brussel sprout tacos, everything was delicious (including the fried pickles).

This was our third visit to the Judge and Jester.
There was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke as soon as you enter the bar from the Main Street.
Apparently the tenants upstairs are heavy smokers and somehow the smoke gets into the Lounge area!
Food was pretty good, service was quick and efficient, prices were normal standard pub prices but the smell of smoke is so disgusting it only gets two stars and we won't be going back.

Awesome service from Kelly. Delicious food. The soup of the day on Friday was so good, we wanted to lick the bowl.
Not very busy when we walked in a 2ish but quickly filled up and Kelly handled all the table like a pro

I usually have a good time here but tonight was terrible. We waited 25 minutes just to order drinks. We were there for an hour before our food came out. It was the worst experience I've had here. We got sat just before someone else and they were served first for food and drinks. The customer service was really bad tonight. I understand it was busy so I will give them another chance but it was just awful. Not what I had usually expected.

I won't eat there again. Food is way overcooked and steaks are chewy. I dont suggest wasting your money

Great food and friendly staff. It's very easy to get pub favourites wrong but everything we tried (and we tried a fair bit) was tasty and well cooked and nicely presented. Good selection of beverages and a great atmosphere.

My family and I enjoyed Wednesday Wing at the Judge and Jester this evening. We had a small pitcher of beer, a kids meal and three pounds of wings for $56.00. We have not spent that little at a restaurant since well before the beginning of the pandemic. I enjoyed the food quality and value, we will definately return.

Normally a good choice of draft beer. Always pleasant staff. Food is really good but a bit expensive. Patio is great

Amazing, the waitress was so kind. We were looking for a pub and we stopped randomly at this one and the experience was so nice!

Visited this pub with a couple of guests from overseas to experience some Canadian cuisine and hospitality. We were completely satisfied. Lunch suggestions were well prepared pub fare, ambience was soft pleasing and unrushed.
Nice restaurant for a visit with friends or family alike!

The Korean burger is absolutely delicious! We went on a Tuesday and had a lot of fun at their weekly Trivia Night.

Great food. We enjoyed the Mediterranean salad and our main course. I loved the dessert. For dessert we had flourless chocolate cake. If you love chocolate, it was 2 pieces of dense cake without the air bubbles created by flour. Liquid chocolate sauce surrounded the cake. The best chocolate cake I have had in years. I hope it's available the next time I go.

Food was good. Waitress was really friendly. The excellent item on the menu was the wings with their own jester sauce.wish they sold the sauce by itself!

The nostalgia of grimsbys favourite pub. The food is good, staff friendly and a good selection of drinks. No complaints ever

Honestly one of the most disappointing meals i’ve had in a long time. The menu advertised caramilized onions on the burger… they were raw. My wife i”ordered french onion soup, we weren’t really sure what that was and why it came in an oversized container. Long story short we threw most of it out because it wasn’t even edible. DEFINITELY don’t eat there.

French fries could have been crispier and I needed to add salt. Meal came with coleslaw but the lid was not on securely, so when I went to pick it up out of the take out box, it spilled all over our kitchen floor. Oh well! Our son liked his chicken fingers. Had to provide our own ketchup at home. Pretty good time!

Had a late dinner there tonight, there was some sort of trivia contest being hosted live. The front room was full to the brim so we sat in a back room. The trivia host spoke so loudly that the speaker distorted at times. He also swore a few times. The popcorn shrimp was good but the main course was essentially KFC on mashed potatoes. It was cold an my wife had to eat with a spoon because no one came back to check on us. The bill was surprisingly high, $15 more than expected. We could smell the urine from the washroom from our table! Don’t ruin a night out, go somewhere else!

We had only 5 for Thanksgiving this year, and nobody felt like cooking. So we ordered the Thanksgiving dinner from Judge and Jester. It far exceeded everyone's expectations. Everything was delicious, and we even had leftover turkey. Thanks for making our life easier Judge and Jester.

Limited Menu. Food is always good as well as the service. I haven't been here for a couple of years. I will go back.

Great experience! Excellent food and great location! Love the feel of patio being between two buildings! Service was great and all staff very friendly! Definitely check it out!

Great service and pub fare food. The fish tacos were very fresh and good. Deep fried Mars bar dessert out of this world!

The spot is amazing and spacious, the menu was delicious and the prices were very affordable.rapidly, productive service and very personal waiters. Recommended.

This place was a landmark in a city-wide scavenger hunt I planned for my (now-husband). The bartenders were SO nice and willing to help me (even put up silly balloons) and give him a hand in finding the next clue. Definitely recommend, even if just for the friendly staff!

COVID rules NOT enforced here. Patrons hugging everyone in sight multiple times wandering table to table without a mask, hugging strangers over a prolonged period. Wait staff did nothing. Only 1 allowed in the bathroom with large sign- everyone ignored it. Wrote polite letter to manager-ignored.covid is free to roam here-not real until it hits someone you love. But then it's too late. We cannot return.

I wish I could give this a gazillion stars. Due to the lockdown, New Year's Eve ended up being just my husband and me. We figured we would treat ourselves to a nice, local dinner. Oh my goodness! We have frequented The Judge and Jester many, many times, and it's always delicious, but this dinner was out of this world. As a local business owner, I firmly believe we need to help each other out during this time. Trust me.anything and everything they prepare is amazing! Fantastic food, great service. It's our go to restaurant. Thank you Judge and Jester!

Best spot in grimsby for a great meal with excellent service. The menu is full of comfort foods and favourites. There are so many options, I’ve tried many and haven’t been disappointed yet. Love the chicken and waffles sandwich, full of quality, fresh ingredients and full of flavour. The beef on a bun, that pretzel bun is outstanding and the beef is tender and full of flavour. Boxty’s, fish and chips and pastas all favourites in our family. You can’t pas up those onion rings!
The staff are always friendly and attentive. Love that home town feel. The owner is always visible, chatting up customers, delivering food and taking care of his guests. It must be a great place to work, don’t see much turnover and everyone is always interacting pleasantly.
J&J is hands down our favourite spot for food and drinks. The menu & food will keep you going back for more. I promise the staff will be happy to see you!

A wee bit pricey, but with that being said. Our waitress was so on the ball! Our food was Faaantastic I had the chicken tacos and OMG! The Birthday girl got mild wings extra saucy and we shared the cheese bread (they make their own dough), so it's fresh! We sat outside highly recommended

Good COVID policy. Menu was too stripped down. Every entree had mushrooms. We were two couples. Three meals required cutlery but only two sets were brought. One person asked for water with their wine, which was missed. I requested both the mashed potatoes as well the vegetables both be swapped out for fries. Not much fries were provided.

Then at bill time we got one bill with both couple's meals on them. We called to the waitress four times as she walked away, no response. So we calculated it ourselves since luckily one person has cash.

The food was okay, service was sub-par. The other couple seemed happy, I was embarrassed that I suggested going here.

Food was delicious! The new partitions between tables are clear and felt very comfortable without being isolating. Great service too

All good here once we figured out what items contained egg or not. (Creamy coleslaw and chopolte mayo)

Great place on a Thursday night in particular as they have a singer/ guitar player that is excellent. Very good service also. They are well setup with COVID safety protocols also.

Absolutely love it here my 7 yr old picked this place and he said let's go there daddy we have to try something new everyday! So we popped in for some food and I've been going ever since! Portions are great for the prices you pay not to mention the staff is awesome and always helpful! I asked for something not on the menu like a half of something and they did it and only charged me half price for it! By the way if you'll wondering what it was.it was the nachos the portion size was huge lol I wanted some nachos for one! Not three or four lol and they had no issue doing it!

Love the judge and jester. The closest decent pub to stoney creek. A bit of a drive for definitely worth it

Delicious food, great drink options (ace hill) but I will say.both our glasses for the beer were dirty.

Lunch special was Spicy Shrimp on angel hair pasta. THE BEST I EVER ATE.
It was so special, that I called the Restaurant and requested the receipe.
Wonderful, the chef was very willing to share. Will make this when I go North to make for family.

This was my first time to this place. The waitress was really polite and friendly. They have big portions for the price. Even the small ate of tacos was big enough to be a main dish but it was got dish to share. I even had to wrap my food to go. The food also tasted really good.

I've been here twice, not overly impressed if I must say. I went for their Tuesday burger special, I had the red pepper and goat cheese burger. The cheese was good, the burger was nothing to phone home about. But the bun left little to be desired, it was overly toasted and a little dry. A nice fluffy bun would not have gone amiss. The fries were standard, not overly salted required ketchup. To my surprise and delight they had frenches ketchup. But I wasn't blown away by any means, the server was pleasant. I just feel the price doesn't match the food, at that price point I would expect more dynamic range in their flavour.

Best place in Grimsby for a pint of Guinness. Wait staff is always helpful and friendly. Food is pub fare. Usually exactly as advertised. Good place overall. Lack of parking, but lots in the area after 9: 00 pm.

We came here for lunch Dec. 19. The stale smell of smoke from a renter upstairs was overwhelming. We all had the soup special and the waitress asked if we wanted the garlic bread with it, which we thought was part of the special. It was not and she did not tell us it was a few dollars more until we got the bill. The portion of soup was a small bowl for $6. The garlic bread didn't taste very good and half of it wasn't even buttered. None of us will be back.

Great place to go if you are in the Grimsby area. Minutes off the QEW. Good selection of beer, good food and a great pub atmosphere, friendly service.

Dined here later in the evening while visiting the area and it was busy with diners both at tables and along the bar. Traditional pub fare with a variety of spirits and beers by the bottle, glass or draught. Not really a health conscious, vegan option to be seen but the kitchen seems prepared to accommodate special requests. Pleasant surroundings again in the traditional style for a pub with TV Sports broadcasts available on nice sized screens. Spirited servers and a reasonably priced option whenever one is in the Grimsby area.

We’ve been here a few times now and have never had a bad experience. Food is always good and the waiters are always friendly and come around to switch out drinks often. Will continue to go back!

The food is really good but the drinks are expensive and the whole place smells like stale cigarette smoke and weed. Eat on the patio.
