The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Cambridge

We went to the Keg for my birthday dinner last night and brought our 6 year old with us in absence of a babysitter. I was blown away at how accommodating they are to children. They gave him a coloring package when we were seated as well as a kids plate with fruits and vegetables. Every sever that came by acknowledged him and spoke to him in a respectable way (not like he is just a little kid). The service was prenominal - my husbands steak came over very overcooked and they immediately replaced it with another cooked to perfection. Because of this, the manager offered us a free desert with her sincere apologies. We always have a great experience at the Keg when we go as a couple but I was very impressed at how wonderful they treat children as guests. Thanks for the great evening!

I felt so welcome, my server was genuinely the sweetest man and looked the part. He was quick, effective, suggestive, and friendly. This was a great place to host my boyfriends birthday.also, thank you chefs for your amazing food! I seriously can't imagine anything that tasted better.

Limited menu if you don't feel like steak. The salmon was so coated in other flavours I couldn't taste the salmon, it was nicely cooked though.

Been frequent Ling this location since it opened. Always great and consistent food and service. And if it isn't right, they make it right!

What can you say about the Keg? Well when you order something with your heart set on how you remember it and then it doesn’t come to your satisfaction, then what happens? Well at this Keg they go above and beyond. The manager, Angela made it her personal mission to make sure we had exactly the steak, the way we ordered it, no matter what. She was very attentive and so focused on our experience. Our server was also great and the team worked to ensure we had a great night out. They definitely followed the Keg brand right to the end. We will be back and hope you go and enjoy your time there also.

1 plate was a 6oz sirloin steak with add-on scallop, shrimp, and asparagus in a bernaise sauce (the Oscar), plus mashed cauliflower. 2nd plate was the blackened chicken (see Keg menu for items) started with sour dough bread and whipped butter. Everything was beautifully seasoned, cooked perfectly, and was absolutely delicious. Our server was on point with the amount of attention paid to us. Did not hover but also did not ignore. Just right! Music was pleasant without being too loud. Ambiance was cozy/casual. We were too full for dessert but next time! To drink, we choose water, chiefly, because we couldn't finish a drink with all that food. Perfect night out. Thank you!

Keg is a consistent go to and still the best prime rib. Prices starting to feel a little out of reach so won't be making as many trips as we used to.

Michelle! That’s all I can say. She is 10000% The Keg Cambridge’s best waitress. My family and I are consistent guests here and anytime we come in, we hope that we have Michelle as our server, not only does she provide the best service but she has the most amazing sense of humour.

6 of us went to the Keg in Cambridge. 4 of us are from Hamilton. This location had amazing service, everyone was so nice, especially our server, Jamie, she was great! And the food was amazing! Always is at all locations! Thank you for a great evening!

We went to celebrate my husband's 35th birthday. Dinner was the best it has been in a long time.

My daughter has many allergies; the manager came out and ran through all the ingredients for what my daughter was interested in ordering to ensure her allergy issues were addressed. And, of course, the food was all fantastic! Recommend the twice baked potatoes.

Our first time ordering our toddler food and it couldn’t have been a better experience! The waitress brought our food and was extremely patient with us as we moved around our toddler to his seat. She even thought to re-plate his food, because the original was more on the hot side.
Everything was delicious and came in a reasonable amount of time. Our waitress checked on us frequently, and refilled waters. We are thankful for the patience and kindness that every waitress showed us.

Went there for my husband’s birthday with a group. We all have fabulous meals cooked to perfection as always love the Keg highly recommend it.

Our server, Harry kept our drinks full and ensured we had everything we needed. He was the best server we’ve ever had, he was hilarious and took the best care of us. He also made sure our table was so clean the whole time! We loved him:)

The keg always surpasses any expectation I have. Their service is exceptional and the food is outrageous. I had an incredible date night with my wife and a wonderful lazy evening absorbing my steak and garlic mashed potatoes.

A great experience. Friendly, attentive yet unobtrusive staff. Baseball sirloin was perfect so was the oven roasted chicken. The vegetables were good too, not a disappointing afterthought.

Had a few different things off the menu.most was very delicious.but the steak doesnt ever seem to be cooked the way i ask, and i hate bothering the already busy hostesses

We were at the Cambridge Keg two weeks ago and every time I think of that meal I’m so very disappointed. I was their for my 60th bday. We’ve been to the Keg many times with great service and food. But this last meal the entrees were all mixed up. My shrimp and twice baked potato was on my daughters dinner, her vegetables was on my plate, vegetables were cold, the cut of the steak was tough and over cooked. When looking for our server to get this fixed, they were no were to be found. Our meal was over $300.00, that’s a lot of money for one meal especially when the meal was not enjoyable. Now, in saying all this restaurants were just being reopened to half capacity and food may not have been available as it would have normally been due to the truck protest. If that’s the case maybe that information could have been shared with us and the prices reduced. Makes us think twice if we should ever go back.

Went to the keg last night for my birthday dinner. Was the best food I have ever had at a restaurant. Our waiter was amazing. Very tentative and any time I even thought oh, I could use something he would like magically appear. Absolutely outstanding!

Took my mom here for her 65th birthday Feb 4/22, was shocked at the terrible service. We were so excited because my mom hadn’t been to a restaurant in over 2 years, the Brantford keg was full so we made the trip to this location. Ordered the Oscar steak, the seafood and vegetables arrived cold, and the steak was rare (ordered med). Our server didn’t come to check on us for a long time so we ended up eating the mashed while we waited. After a really long time going by, we finally pulled over a different server to let him know. The manager reheated our steak and took one drink off the bill-what a terrible way to try to rectify a bad experience. Been going to many different keg locations over many years, never had a bad experience like this. Would not recommend this location.

Surprised they have such good reviews. Ordered dinner for our anniversary. Steak and lobster, rice and twice backed potatoes. The steak was ordered medium rare but was cooked medium well. The lobster tasted undercooked and the sides were tasteless. Very disappointed. We ended up not eating half the food. Such a waste of $150.

Will 100% never be back there.

Came here with my partner for dinner a couple nights ago, I can’t remember our servers name but she was great. The food came out fast and was cooked perfect to taste. Definitely left satisfied.

My wife and I went to keg last sat. Was told better to sit inside as there is a car show outside and it gets loud. Np.it got loud even inside but we didn't care its a car show is what it is. What disturbed me the most was the waitress telling us " yeah sorry about the noise its these anti vaxers doing their car show.idiots" word for word. 1. What made them "anti vaxers" 2 we are anti vaxers but you were good enough for our tip which would have been a lot more if you just shut your misinformed mouth. Honestly this is how misinformed people get there info from.

Celebrated a birthday with family, and service was excellent. Prices have increased recently, a sign of the times, so while it was an expensive dinner, it was a great dining experience. Their filet mignon is always a winner, as is the twice baked potato. Our son saves the cheese butter that’s served with the bread to use on his steak… it’s surprisingly quite tasty! If you like the taste of mocha almond, try their Billy Miner pie… ridiculously delicious. Strongly suggest making reservations well ahead as the restaurant is always so busy! Excellent evening!

Our first visit back post COVID restrictions. Service is always good. The food however was just poor. Potatoes smaller than a baseball, rubbery and tasteless (I don’t even know where you would buy baking potatoes that small). My wife got a 6 oz sirloin that looked like an overcooked hamburger and was 30% fat and no more than maybe 4oz. My NY Strip had the correct colour for a rare steak, but was over salted to the point of almost inedible and somehow dry. You should be able to serve a NY Strip well done and not have it dry out. And I absolutely HATE when restaurants try to pass off iceberg lettuce in a Caesar salad. The kind of meal I would expect from Kelsey’s or Appleby’s. The wait staff and management were very cordial, but bad food is bad food. We shouldn’t need to send back a plate that has such obviously poor fare for $100+ dollar meal for 2. We won’t be back

I was very excited to do date night at the Keg this past Saturday as we haven’t been out since the lockdown started back in December and the Keg is our favourite restaurant in town and we used to go there very often pre-lockdown. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with our meals this time around. I ordered my usual filet with twice baked potato and my boyfriend ordered the prime rib. I received my meal and the steak was cooked perfectly but I must say it was tiny! They advertise 7oz and as person that’s into fitness and weighs their food regularly I know what 7oz of protein should look like and this wasn’t it. The twice baked which is my favourite usually was not cooked properly. Only the top was soft and the mid to bottom of the potato was hard which is not usually the case.
My boyfriends meal was far worse. His prime rib looked like a gelatinous mess. It wasn’t even hot, very fatty and gelatin like in appearance. When we told our server this is not what we remember the prime rib looking like. She said it looked like that because it was cooked rare. Which we understand but it doesn’t explain the coldness or jelly like texture. My boyfriend isn’t a complainer so he told me to let it go and just ate it. I ate my steak and only the top of my potato but was not satisfied at all with the meal.
Very disappointed that the quality of the food has gone down so significantly. This used to be my favourite place. I will probably not be visiting again.

We had a wonderful take out experience from the Keg in Cambridge. We ordered dinner from there for our small outdoor 10 person wedding. It was amazing. It was very easy to order online. The food was hot and everything was exactly as we ordered. They even labeled each container with individual names. There was lots of table bread and condiments were individually packaged. Which made it easy for everyone to get their potatoes just how they wanted them. We were thrilled with the service. And would absolutely recommend the Keg take out for any type of event!

We had an amazing dinner after my wedding ceremony this past weekend. Due to COVID-19, my venue couldn’t due a reception, so I called up The Keg to see if we could have a small group there for dinner and they accommodated us and pretty much saved my wedding day. They went above and beyond what was expected and it was the perfect ending to our perfect day.

Picked up dinner tonight for my wife's birthday and in spite of the COVID restrictions the take home food was just as good as if we were eating in the restaurant - the containers are metal lined, all of the packaging ensures all of the food stays warm and the steak was perfectly cooked! Honestly one of the best experiences for a COVID pickup dinner I have had.

I ordered curbside pickup last Friday for my entire family and I was very impressed. The food was packaged well and it was still hot by the time I made it home. I was shocked that it tasted just as good as what it does eating it in restaurant. Thank you for a great meal!

Great service. Less than average steak quality. Purchased and ate a Ribeye. It was poorly cooked and was nothing close to its retail value. Even the waiter realized it and tried making accommodations. Facilities and atmosphere present well, but I will not plan on returning to this location.

We were here for my birthday dinner tonight and I found the air conditioning quite cool for me. Even though I had a long sleeved shirt on, I was freezing! The dining room manager offered her sweater to me! Made my night! I didn't get her name but thought that was just so sweet of her! As always the food was cooked to our liking, served hot and our waiter was attentive. Can't go wrong at the Keg!

We always have an amazing experience here. Our sever Shaun is great. He is always provides us with the best customer service you can recieve. Food is great as well. Highly recommend!

The wife and I went for dinner and she wasn't happy with her prime rib. It wasn't terrible, just not the quality we would expect from the keg. We were asked about our meal by our server Jeremy and since neither of us like to send food back she just said it was fine. Well Jeremy must have picked up on something because 30 seconds later the manager was at our table, (can't remember his name but was a super nice guy) and convinced my wife she needed another prime rib which showed up in less than 5 minutes and was crazy good. He also comped our $15 appetizer for the trouble. Fantastic experience. BTW my rib steak was absolutely incredible. Great service, great food. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could.

First time at a KEG Steakhouse. Took our three grandsons after spending the day at the Paris Fair. Excellent service and great food. Michael, our server, went above and beyond what we could have anticipated. Koodos to him and the entire Keg staff in Cambridge, Ontario.

Great steak and great service. Treated my wife's gluten intolerance fantastically and assured us through the whole meal. Steak was beautiful. Would definitely go again. 10/10

Excellent experience at the Cambridge location recently. Food was amazing, great service and fair prices. I had the summer special seafood sirloin and would say it's the best dish I have had their so far!

Our server was excellent, far better than average at chain restaurants in Ontario.
We went a little later in the evening, 8-ish, and the food was very good, but loses a star for the same complaint I have literally every time I've gone to the Keg: the side dishes (twice baked potato, fried onion crisps, sauteed mushrooms) leave a lot to be desired. The potato in particular had sat in a warming bin for a time, the skin was like leather. Come on, Keg! Spuds are cheap in the big scheme, make sure your guests get fresh ones no matter what time they dine!
Still recommend overall, though, it's better than most other restaurants around.

The Keg was a great choice for a date night! The steak is perfect and the fish was delicious as well. Free bread is always a plus. The ambiance is very cozy and the staff are very friendly!

Great experience. Went for drinks, appetizers, steak, lobster and dessert. Everything was clean, fat and delicious and the staff were great, providing recommendations along the way. Would definitely return.

Beyond amazing service. Overall if I was able to give a higher rating I would 100%. They go way above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. I have a dairy allergy and have become very use to having to ask what dishes are dairy free so I can eat them. This was the first time the manager came out and asked me what I wanted to eat. He was extremely friendly and thoughtful. Of course, what I wanted had dairy but they made the sauce and such all dairy free for me and even added some extra spicy because I mentioned likely it spicy! I had my meal tailored to my needs rather than trying to find one that works! And they were sooooo sweet about it! The staff was charming and the steaks were cooked perfect! The meal was one of the best I have ever had. It was a sirracha feature with shrimp, scallops and steak.

Staff was very accommodating. Reserved for 6 people but showed up with 9. Service was fast, fresh, hot and tasty. Manager came over to make sure we had everything we needed. Free desserts was added touch.

I find the Keg is always pretty true to brand. The steak is always cooked to perfection and I've never been disappointed in the Mushrooms Neptune or twice baked potato. They could expand the kids menu a bit. We have always had excellent service at any Key that we've been too which is quite amazing for any chain.

Refusing to accept reservations on a Saturday is extremely poor customer service. When someone takes the trouble to reach out to you directly and arrange ahead of time to come and spend money at your restaurant, refusing to reserve a table for them sends message that their business just isn't important enough to be bothered.

I love the keg, but the last time i went i was extremely dissapointed. We were only offered water once in the hour we were there. We both got the steak, it came with vegetables and I could literally count there was half of 1 pepper and 4 green beans. Like really. We're paying over $100.00 for dinner there and there's not enough vegetables
Vegetables are cheap, there should be more. Not very impressed with the wait all the time either. We have waited there for over an hour before. You should start taking reservations on Saturdays.
