The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Esplanade

Beautiful restaurant, The waiters are so nice and smell super good LOL.there is a good atmosphere with a beautiful playlist especially, and the food is good and the cocktails delicious! With incredible service I liked being there I recommend!

Our steaks were cooked to perfection. The rest of our food was great! Or server wasn't always around, but was so pleasant and attentive when she was.

We go to the keg pretty often, but today it was NOT good. Food was salty, beef was not tender, escargot changed and not so tasty and Billy miner was almost fully melted. We aren’t coming back. It’s too expensive to run this risk again

I mostly go to Barbarian's, Hy's, etc. I forgot about The Keg for a decade. Give it another chance and you won't regret it. The Keg is is seriously underrated. Ribeye, brussel sprout Caesar.

Top notch service and food. We went on a Friday night and everything was perfect. The manager checked in with us after one of the steaks was not to my fiancés satisfaction. They credited us with a dessert for free and our server was incredible

Thank you Keg! We had a lovely dinner after our workout and I really enjoyed the rib steak with bone inside! The meat was juicy and great quality, tender, not oversalted - which was great so I can add more if I wanted to! I also loved the season side veggies - beets and broccoli, very healthy! The side accompaniment could have been better though - we ordered rice with mushrooms and rice seemed like it dried up (when you leave it outside) and portion was on the smaller side, but we came for the meat and we were happy.
Appetizer - calamari wasn’t the best, too fried (it says lightly in the menu) and very small bits - unclear what you are eating, could have been leftovers, who knows. I expected wholesome kind of pieces like in Greek restaurants.
Crème brûlée was great! And our server too. I was so hungry that I forgot to take photos, oh well.

Not the same level as other Kegs. Though they did provide my meal for free. So I should acknowledge their efforts to make us happy v

Took a friend and her family here to celebrate her graduation. They said and I quote "loved each bite. It's not something you say often". The blackened chicken was terrific and ofc the steak. I was pleasantly surprised with their Chicago style medium rare New York steak. Love when a restaurant can recreate perfect each time. Service was excellent as well.

The only compliant was that the whisky sour was made from a mix. Mai Tai, and espresso martinis were great. It ended with a sweet surprise of the mocha ice cream dessert which was devoured after everyone had swore they had no more room. Our servers were nice, and checked on us just enough. Such a wonderful evening! Thank you.

We’ve been to various Kegs quite a bit, unfortunately our recent outing to this location was below average.

Both medium rare steaks came out blue, the lobster was overdone & rubbery, the twice baked was flavourless. However the appetizers were on point & delicious.

Staff were quick to take care of and fix the issues to make our experience better.

I went there for a dinner after my sister made a reservation there with her husband. The store had a nice ambience and the food was terrific.

Awesome place! I went here recently for a group event and the KEG was awesome! The server Montana was excellent and very nice, she was super! I really enjoyed my visit there and the food was very delicious. I ordered a NY striploin and it was cooked perfectly. I also like how the waiters are super accommodating for my allergies. I asked for certain items to be omitted in the dish as I was allergic to them, and there were no mixups. I think they went above and beyond than required. Although the restaurant was very dark. It's very hard to take pictures and see what you're eating at times. But the service was good and overall nice experience!

My favourite Keg location by far! Excellent customer service, multiple nearby parking options and of course, the great food!

My boyfriend and I had the best experience at this specific keg. The service was top notch and they even gave us a card and a free dessert for our anniversary. Every single staff member was so kind and welcoming! We live about an hour away but I will gladly drive to this keg over any other keg near us since we had such a great experience. Thank you to all the staff members…your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.

Great food as the Keg usually does and convenient pre game spot before events downtown. At tops a 10 min walk to Scotiabank Arena. Great service and ambience. Reservations on event nights are recommended.

Came for our 17th anniversary and had a great experience. Jody our waitress was so attentive and friendly. Highly recommend! Our steak was perfect and we will be back

Celebrated my birthday twice! Great experience and love the hostess Phoenix who made both my visits amazing!

I have eaten here 2 times already but definitely plan to come back again soon.

It is a really nice place to eat, the food is amazing (I had a medium teriyaki steak the first time and it just melted in my mouth) and the service is great, along with a nice atmosphere too.

Plus other little things to make it an overall 5 stars such as free (sourdough?) bread and butter before the meal and chocolate mints to take home after!

Would definitely recommend! But if you are thinking about coming here in the evening you should definitely book as it is very popular and I was turned away one time as I hadn't booked a table.

This was the best keg I’ve ever ate and I’ve been to a lot of them everything from the appetizers to dinner was perfection i would be coming back to this keg all the time it’s worth the drive and parking

The Keg, it's tried and true. You can't get a bad meal here. However, I'm writing this review not because of the food - though, meals here are always consistently great - but for the incredible service. I've been to this specific location several times and am impressed that the server not only remembers me, but also what I previously ordered and our conversation.from 7 months ago! Unfortunately, I never got their name, but they are impeccable.
There are a lot of places in Toronto with subpar service, but this isn't one of them. There is a reason why the Keg is still around because it's not just about the food.

What's not to like about the Keg? The multiple locations in downtown so you can pick the one closest to you, great! The flexibility of having Bar and fine dining, great! The Sunday special white Sangria, great! The fried cauliflower, great! The filet mignon, great! Service, great! Only complaint is that portion being sooooo big that I don't have room for my dessert!

Amazing experience and amazing staff. I took my partner there to celebrate our engagement and they made us feel super special! It was a lovely night with great food and a great ambience. Thanks for the wonderful night! A night that will always be remembered.

Went here for my birthday and was so thrilled to visit this location as I've heard many great reviews. Everything was simply amazing! From the food, to the service we really enjoyed our visit and the staff went the extra mile to make my birthday even more special. Thank you and I'll definitely be back!

Fall 1989 I was here with my new boyfriend to meet a favorite Aunt of mine along with mon cher Papa - 32 years later, I plan to return with $400 gift cards accumulated over this pandemic to cheers I survived COVID-19 and this relationship I am proud to call successful! I will be ordering shrimp cocktail, oysters on half shell with tabasco sauce, lobster tail with garlic mashed potatoes, side of mixed steam veggies and Keg size Bloody Caesars (notice plural) Happy Summer 2021!

Our server was fabulous. I wish I had gotten her name. The food was perfect. They didn't have strawberry mix for a strawberry daiquiri so they created a raspberry one. It was delicious. We had 5 star treatment.

I had the chance to go for dinner last night and the food was amazing. Perfect cooking temp and taste 10/10 i took for the first time the Blue cheeses filet mignon and it was wrapped in bacon. I usually dont take bacon but it was subtil n very tasty together. The blue cheese was light. I enjoyed the service also from the Lady barmaid. She was great. I will be back certainly. Its just a major heartbreak when i knew they had no oysters on the site sad story but the filet made me forget about it quickly

I guess the thing about the Keg, is that if you’ve been to one before you know what you are in for. Food is predictable and excellent quality but not amazing.
We sat on the patio at the Esplanade…right beside the street. It was lively and had a great vibe. The waiters were all busy and attentive. Shevaun looked after us and we never felt like we were wondering when she might come back.
I had the ribs and chicken…. It was definitely very good. My partner had the halibut and for sure it was over cooked.: : on the dry side. It wasn’t a deal breaker.
If you are in downtown Toronto and want to go somewhere where you will have a good time, decent food without breaking the bank…. I’d definitely suggest this Keg location.
I gave it a four…. Didn’t quite qualify for a five.
PS after my post I was contacted by the GM to apologize for our meal. We exchanged a few emails…I told him I was not looking for a freebie.
That is truly spectacular customer service from what I am sure is a very busy guy.

Tonight took my 11 month old to a restaurant for the first time and was very uneasy about it. Went to the Keg Esplanade with 3 other friends and had THE BEST experience. Our server was Jonah and he was so patient and kind. The food was great as expected but the service was what really made it. Thank you for making our experience so great. I can honestly say that Jonah is the best server I've ever had at a restaurant ever. Especially as a first experience with a baby plus first experience dining out during COVID, 100% would recommend!

I ordered the 3 course meal for new year's eve. Unfortunately they forgot the dessert in the bag. I called them and the manager was super nice. She said to come back another time and she will make up for it. I went back in the new year, and was given a complimentary dinner of my choice, now that's service. I think it's important during the lockdown when there's only pickup and delivery. It's not like you can tell the businesses right there how the food is, or that they forgot an item, which was my case. Am glad The Keg understands the importance of customer relationship through their service.
On the food front, I ordered for both times, ceasar salad, fillet mignon with bacon wrap cooked to medium rare, and the Billy Milner pie. The meal came with complimentary bread. Everything was great. The salad was fresh. The steak was cooked to perfection. I would go back again in a heart beat. Thank you.

Great place for takeout during these pandemic times. You can order it all online easily enough. You can even use your gift cards on the website and pay ahead of time. Don't throw out your gift card after you use it though because you need to bring it with you when you pick up your food.

From Montreal, Niagara falls and the GTA, this location is by far is my favorite! The food is always good and consistent and the service is wonderful. Definitely recommend!

Visited last year for my birthday celebration with family. The server was very friendly and nice. The food was amazing, especially the iceberg lettuce salad and the steak. I asked for a medium rare steak and they nailed it. Hopefully I can celebrate my birthday here again in 2021.

Everything was Fantastic! Our hostess was a sweet Irish lass who was perfectly chatty! Our waiter Brandon was lovely with a devilish twinkle in his eye which I very much appreciate!

The staff were soo friendly. The place is super huge and so cozy! Beef stake was great medium rare, with many choices of side. Sangria and red wine are both good. Btw, try their creme brulee, one of the best!

Had a minor inconvenience last night with pick up and the manager went above and beyond to make it a great dinner for my wife and I. Great Service!

Ordered the filet mignon it was cooked as asked, could've done with something else other than baked tomatoe with cheese on top, as this had no flavor really, but otherwise the food and drinks were great and service was quick. Really enjoyed it here, recommend this place.

I take my family to this place from time to time! This is the best place to grab a bite. I go there at least once a month. The food is of high quality, the staff is professional and the charge is good. I like eating in this spot for a rich lunch.

Havent been to this keg in maybe 7+ years. Brought back memories going back. Staff was excellent. Easy to find parking; cheap parking. Food was AMAZING.literally was taking my time to finish my plate because of how good it tasted. Only thing i would say is that the lighting at this location is pretty dim/low. So it will be a "dark" atmosphere. Otherwise i highly recommend location.

Our server Brandon was professional and enjoyable, the food was out on time and he was always around to check in.

I ordered a rare steak on the patio and it came well done. When I told the waiter they offered to bring a new one which was great. However, a manager later came over to our table to ask if our waiter told us about the lighting. I told her no. She told me that the patio lighting made the steak look more well done than it actually is. I look up to see what the patio lighting she is talking about and I see she is referring to the sun. Anywho.they took care of the problem and brought me a rare steak. The lighting didn’t affect my second steak like it did my first.odd how that worked out. The excuses made the experience less than ideal. Any other keg is better than this one. Go to the keg on king! Much better and more consistent.

Great location in a great chain. Consistently high-quality dishes for a reasonable price in a warm, classy environment. The staff are always warm and professional to boot.

The Keg offers a great experience every time. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is excellent. The hostess greeted us and was very friendly. We were seated right away (we had made reservations). Our sever was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food is extraordinary. The steak was cooked the way I requested and the vegetables are fresh and well seasoned. The Keg has an excellent selection of wines. Because we were there celebrating a birthday we got a delicious cake for dessert (no charge). This Keg is accessible and in a convenient location.

I’m from the States, Atlanta Georgia to be exact, and have been to some great steak houses. This place is AMAZING! The atmosphere is relaxing and warm with the fireplaces. It’s a great location and dining experiebce is fabulous. We sat at the bar and Jason is an amazing host. We are extremely happy we came in for dinner as our steaks were cooked perfectly and all sides were delicious and cooked exactly to order. It is packed before the hockey game so wait till the game starts and you’ll be able to walk on in. It’s worth it!

I come here a few times a year and the steaks have been cooked to absolute perfection as of mid-2018 definitely consistent with the quality of food, as well as the service. Thank you Keg Espalande! Highly recommended!

Loved it! Firstly, the atmosphere here is fantastic, admittedly it is a little on the dark side but it's all part of the fun. The staff were great, super informative about the food and happy to make recommendations. The food itself is amazing, the filet steak I had was perfectly cooked. Overall this is a great place to eat, drink and socialise!

So much fun! We were told we'd have a 25 minute wait and they found us a great table in just 2 minutes. Food was excellent and our server was so attentive. My sons and I were not rushed through the meal and were able to enjoy great conversation and so much laughter. It was a superb evening!

Good service and good food. Make sure to make a reservation well in advance, because this place is always busy. We found a spot at the bar, and the tender there was very hospitable. Steak and chicken cooked to perfection, and beers very good.

Worst Keg! Both times I've come, the steak wasn't cooked as asked and the service was slow. I'd take slow service if the food was good not undercooked or badly burnt. Super disappointing.

Went in with my wife and 2 very small children on a Friday evening not expecting to get a table. We were seated and from the get go the host/hostess we're more then helpful. Seated, made room for a stroller acquired a booster seat for our eldest without hesitation. Janelle was our server, gave us service above and beyond any expectations we had. This is by far the best experience I've had at the Keg ever. And top of the list for best experience at any restaurant hands down.
The food was consistent with the franchise, and great for the price.
It's evenings like this that push experience over and above just food quality.

I like the Keg, but I was really disappointed with my recent experience at the Keg's on 26 The Esplanade. Steak tasted just awful and was cut poorly as well. It was the smallest portion I have ever seen. The server was very attentive.

Halibut was not very good, over cooked and not very good value at $36 bucks. Service was just ok. Seated in the back somewhere with 4 other tables. Should be so much better considering the time of year.

Maybe I came late, but i wanted a good steakhouse experience. Word on the street, the keg is the place, i was advised early on to go to the one on King st. But my hotel was two min away from this location. Ross my waiter, looks cool, but he wasn’t personalable at, that’s cool, can’t expect things to be perfect but I was really hoping for a good dining experience. Try king street not here

Really friendly and obliging staff! Steaks are good too. I gave it 4 stars coz the sides could have been improved (in comparison to other steak joints I've been too)

Steps away from Union station, I came to the Keg for dinner with a friend. She ordered a chicken dish and I ordered a medium Butcher's Cut Casual Plate dish for $26. We had water with our meals and the table came with delicious, warm complimentary bread.

I found the service to be above average, calm and attentive. I would call this a medium-upscale place, but you won't be out of place dressing casually. The setting is intimate and comfortable, without being too pretencious. There is seating for couples, singles and large groups. There is a paid parking garage across the street and the rates are not bad.

Now the food: I found the steak to be a little too crisp on the seared aspects, but it was delicious. The portion size was a little small, but still enough to leave you satisfied. The accompanying gnocchi was a pleasant delight - well bodied and filled with flavor. The plating was pretty basic but not unpleasant. A few cracks of blank pepper tired it together nicely.

I would recommend the Keg if you're in the area and crave a good grill, but pass on the spot of it's out of the way and your pockets are feeling a little shy. The average main here is roughly $30, which is on the upper border of fair if you know you're here for fine (r) dining, and not a budget meal.

I've been to other locations in the city and this one has to be the most poorly staffed. (At least at the bar).

On one occasion i observed the bartender over served a patron who was with his 8 yr old son. I asked the bartender if he thought it was right to continue to serve him drinks? His only response was "kids are allowed in the bar". It was a said situation to watch.

2nd time we were there the service was a little lack luster with our glasses running dry numerous times and then sitting in front of our finished plates for a good 15 mins.
