The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - York Street

Expected more from a Toronto keg location when it was dead.
Ordered a rare strip loin took an hour and it arrived medium
Kinda pathetic when you’re paying this much money at a steak house lol

I had a reservation for 6pm, and we came in 15 minutes early. But we didn’t get seated until 6: 20pm.

I ordered the Peppercorn New York Striploin, medium rare. I received the stake super rare. When I got to the middle of the steak it was slimy in my
mouth. The next day, I can’t get that sliminess out of my head, I am disgusted. I did smoke weed before coming to my reservation so I was too shy to tell my server about my disappointment, I definitely should have. Anyways, that was sad! I’ll probably check out their other locations instead of coming here again.

Last night my son took me to this restaurant for a birthday surprise. I can honestly say the experience was wonderful. The service was excellent - our waiter’s name was Heather. I had the salmon and my son had steak that was very tasty. After the meal was finished, I was surprised with a slice of delicious ice cream cake with a candle. A beautiful evening!

We had an outstanding server; despite the packed restaurant, she promptly served us drinks and hot bread to start, and we didn't have to wait long before receiving our main meal.

Amazing experience from beginning to end!

Super cozy yet fancy environment, extremely gentle waiters, and super well prepared food for a very fair price.

I have a lot to say in this review which isn’t typical for my reviews, but this was truly a great date night & experience.

When we first got to the restaurant I asked one of the hostesses to take a photo of my boyfriend and I, which she did right away and they were great photos.

When we sat down the service was fast, and we were checked on often. The server asked if we were celebrating anything.

I’m honestly really bad with names or I would write his name here but I hope he sees this.

Anyways fast forward, all of the food was delicious, I wasn’t 100% happy with how my steak came out so they brought it back and cooked it up, the manager came over and checked on me a lot, she bought us dessert and took the steak off our bill which I thought was above and beyond, too bad I can’t give this more stars.

Also I got a tomato on my plate when it came out which I had asked to substitute for veggies so the server brought us extra asparagus (no charge) which made my boyfriend really happy.

Overall I felt like the service staff really cared about our experience great job guys and thank you!

IMPORTANT NOTE: We left a 25% tip on the total amount of the bill (before discounts) when a server discounts your bill and you select the tip percentage on the machine it will only tip them on the amount after discounts and not the total amount of your food, make sure to add on the extra value of that food to your bill total and leave them a dollar amount (if paying by machine) so your server gets their full tip.

As an ex server this is something I wish people paid more attention to, if the service staff goes above and beyond it’s not hard to reciprocate

The food and drinks were great and I really liked the atmosphere and the staffs were very welcoming.

On july 30, great waitress Deanna, was so accommodating to us, explaining about the food & drinks, especially the espresso martini. The staff & manager were the best. This Keg is the best one.

Had the surf and turf dinner with a local IPA and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was outstanding. The creme brule we had for dessert was also delicious. The restaurant itself is also pretty appealing. I'll be back!

I called to make a reservation and specifically told them I would be 20 mins late. I was assured and then reassured before hanging up and driving downtown that my table would be available to me upon arrival. It was pouring and driving conditions weren’t ideal - however I was very happy and made the trip. …. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was rudely greeted with a 1 hour wait - quite the opposite of the great customer service “tactics” used to lure me to dine there. Great food, horrible front desk.

Honestly just came in for a drink this time and man did I have a blast. Bartender Danielle was great. Was there meeting my to be arranged wife and she made things so casual for us by the end we were having a blast. If you are looking for a spot to bring a woman you want to impress bring her to this keg. Bar staff are unreal.

Was the first time trying it out and did not disappoint at all.what an amazing place it is, the the food, the services.the steak was so good and I haven't stopped talking about.if you are looking to take friends to a place, where the food and drinks will be worth it.

We had the most amazing dinner tonight with old friends …. We were very well taken care of. And of course the food was amazing as always.

Surprised at the high rating as it was so underwhelming for a $50 steak. Others at my table agreed. Waiter assumed we weren't going to spend much (we came in casual clothes) and hardly said a word to us when sitting + ordering drinks. Later, she took our orders and realized we would have a $300+ bill, she flipped a switch and introduced herself and started acting friendly. Atleast the calamari was ok

I had my worst KEG experience at this location! I ordered medium rare New York steak. First they overcooked my steak, it was more than well-done and very chewy. I asked them to change it, it took more than an hour in total, they brought a piece of raw meat to me this time. Apparently, the chef doesn’t know what medium-rare means. I was so hungry by then so I didn’t ask for the proper medium-rare again! And guess what, they charged me for 2 medium steaks and I didn’t even touch the first one! I paid first and then I realized how expensive my bill was, then I checked the items after paying and yes I paid for 2 New York steaks. There are too many other issues with their customer service that I don’t want to go through details. I always had good experience with the food quality and customer services of KEG restaurants in general. After this experience, I don’t even want to go back to KEG restaurants again! Thanks to 165 York location!

Our waiter was absolutely fantastic and the backyard patio was beautiful and extremely comfortable. However, I must rate it a 3 because the food we ordered was not nearly as good as I remembered it before. I ordered a full rack of ribs and was extremely disappointed at how dry and tough it was. The calamari was also rubbery and fried with too much dough. The mojito was good, and the beef sliders were tasty, but I was quite dissatisfied with the entrees we got

Keg is our family favorite. It's our first time at this location, but it's just as good as the others. The patio is very pretty.

It was so lovely to go back to eat ny favourite meal over there, thank you so much to make my evening so perfect, the food was delicious as always.

The patio is really nice and the customer service is excellent. I got the same dish I always get at other locations but I did not like it here, not sure why. The servers were were very considerate about it and tried to make sure I still enjoyed my time, so they got me their famous Billy Miner Pie dessert. Loved their customer service here.

If you go to this location, make your way to a spot at the bar. The staff there make all the difference. My baseball steak was amazing as well.

Amazing experience at the keg! I was disappointed by another restaurant’s services for my birthday yesterday so my friend recommended the keg and I’m so glad we went there! Sara the waitress was extremely kind and provided the best services I’m so glad she served us she’s actually one of the biggest reasons I’m giving this restaurant a five star! I’m not a fan of ice cream cake but their ice cream cakes are to die for!
