The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Ottawa Market

Everything was petfect. I had the salmin which was really good. We are french and our waiter Dan made the effort to speak french to us. Great service!

Amazing steak, great service, lovely atmosphere. Everything you would expect from the Keg!

First and foremost, this Keg branch is unusually hot and humid for a sit-down, they really need to invest in better ventilation. I mean, you could witness the sweaty foreheads of customers and servers alike.

Second, this is my 2nd time trying out the keg and I'm convinced that their food is just not good and needs serious improvement. The first time I ordered a steak and left the manager a comment about it and a review. This time I decided to go simple and get
the Keg burger, and I kid you not, I could not get myself to finish it. I really wonder, how do you manage to mess up a simple burger. I also do endorse the other reviews about the fries, they are just horrible and tasteless.

Third, the service just absolutely sucks, food took about 45 mins to arrive, the salt shakers were all broken, knives were SUPER dull, and I had to keep asking for napkins, cutlery, all that basic stuff. And as a cherry on top, I asked for a toothpick on my way out, and I watched all these hostesses scramble to find one and they couldn't. You might think this is silly, but add all these things up and you feel like you left a fast food chain at the end of the day, not somewhere where you just spent a few hundred bucks. I'll be honest however, all servers were awesome and super nice.

I invite the Keg owners and management to sit at a round-table to rethink their whole strategy on improving their chains. I personally was so unhappy that I made a vow to never go back again.

Nice ambience, quite dark lighting. Onion rings for starters, very good, big rings and nice by fresh bread.
Steaks were good, but quite expensive for what it is. Desserts were disappointing. Cheese cake was bland and sauce looked like it came out if a tin. Seems like it was frozen before hand. Creme brulee, sugar was very burnt and left a bitter taste. Cappuccinos are not great, from a machine and not made with proper milk froth.

Service was a bit lax but ok. Long queue when we left so be sure to make a reservation.

I visited this branch multiple times and had the best service so far by a server named Blythe. She was very welcoming, nice and checked up on me enough times. She made my visit better.
As for the food, i ordered a medium well steak and got well done. I didn't mention it coz i was starving!

Filet mignon was great. The lobster was chewy but the managed came to our table, offered to replace it, took it off the bill and offered free desert. Great action by the manager! The music was a bit loud as well as the obnoxious table beside us.

C'était vraiment bon. Le menu enfant est parfait. Ils ont choix de salade ou frites, j'ai adoré. Leur steak etait aussi bon que le nôtre.
La serveuse parlait francais et nous avons appréciés.
Le keg burger etait braiment bon, le blakened chicken aussi, les epices sont délicieuse et le surlonge est parfait.

It’s always our family tradition to celebrate at the Keg. The Keg on York is a flagship which usually receives perfect food and service. We enjoyed our anniversary celebration dinner. A couple bottle wines with a few favorite dishes and endless laughs!

Fanatic. My favorite location. The wait staff are better here than any other location in ottawa. We had Sage as a waitress and she was excellent.

The steak recommended was not that good, lots of grizzles. 200+ for 2 of us with 1 glass of wine and 4 drinks.they were verry honnesti forgot my phone, they placed my phone and charger in a safe place

Nice meal good service, the salad, shrimp cocktail are both good. Steak is little bit well done then I expected, but still good. A keg standard, seated in the 2nd floor corner so not much of atmosphere to think.

The Keg formula is a good one. The server offered a few suggestions that changed how I made my order and allowed me more flexibility in side dishes.

Slight failures: I asked for prime rib very rare. It was medium. Good thing they give you those really sharp knives. The other failure is the McDonald's French fries they serve. A restaurant specializing in steaks and prime rib should serve real steak frites made from real potatoes peeled, sliced and cooked in the kitchen. Not these frozen shoestrings.

Kaitlyn was our waitress and delivered amazing service. She had a large group to attend to, and still able to provide us with exceptional attention.

For my bachelorette weekend we chose the Keg on York street for the main restaurant event! Food was amazing but also the service was impeccable! Our server (Kaitlyn H) was very accommodating and even took the time to take some photos for us and made the night feel very special! Our party was very appreciate of her service and we’d go back without a date because of the experience alone! Thanks Kaitlyn H!

The steak was decent, but it didn't stand out as a specialty dish. It was slightly overpriced considering its weight in ounces. The restaurant provides one side with each plate, but overall, it feels like the plate is half empty.

The ambiance was uncomfortably warm, and I wasn't sure if the air conditioning was functioning properly because I found myself sweating. The lighting was dim, giving the impression of a club atmosphere while dining.

On the positive side, the service was pleasant.

Taking all aspects into account, I would rate my experience between 6 and 7 on a scale from 1 to 10, with 6 being the lowest and 7 being the highest.

I had the salmon, I always have it. Amazing great! It was my birthday & I very much enjoyed the dinner.

Really nice place to be indoors and outdoors. Food was very good and while staff was a little overwhelmed, it was a good experience

I ordered the surf and turf steak and lobster tail, added a side of jumbo grilled shrimp, everything was perfectly cooked and delicious, what stole the show was the absolute best service from their waitress Ilqua, super professional and flawless, they’re lucky to have her

My girlfriend and I had dinner there. Both had the Peppercorn Striploin and it was absolutely delicious. Our waiter Miguel was an absolute pleasure, incredibly friendly and professional. He absolutely made the experience, definitely coming back.

Our waiter was so knowledgeable about the food and wine, it was so refreshing to engage with someone who understood the menu. He recommended the lamp and Chicago style steaks. We were three so we shared our 'cuts' amongst ourselves. The steaks and lamb were the best I've had in long long time!

I had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant "The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Ottawa Market" today, and I am thoroughly impressed. The food was wonderfully prepared, and the service was exceptional. In particular, our waiter named Daniel left a lasting impression. He had the menu memorized and was extremely attentive and accommodating to special requests.

What truly stood out to me was Daniel's ability to speak multiple languages. In addition to English and French, he also had a good grasp of Spanish and German. This versatility made communication during my visit effortless and contributed to feeling comfortable and welcome.

The restaurant had an inviting ambiance, and the overall atmosphere was delightful. The quality of the food and beverages was top-notch, and I could sense the passion and care put into their preparation.

Daniel was an outstanding host, impressing me with his extensive knowledge of the dishes. His ability to accommodate special requests and provide recommendations made my visit truly exceptional.

I will definitely revisit this restaurant, specifically to be served by Daniel, on my next trip to Ottawa. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a first-class culinary experience, excellent service, and a multilingual staff.
