The staff are very caring for all animals. The facility is very clean. Great place for animal lovers to volunteer interacting with the animals.

Adopted Beautiful Angel October 1st 2023, The Workers and Volunteers Are Amazing! Made Adopting Our Angel GreatExpetience.
14 September 2023 7:13
They are friendly people, they will help you if you need food for the animal, I was running out of her food, she's is very happy now and so am, I thank you so much.
12 September 2023 11:26
This place offers services for our pets at a lower cost compared to regular veterinary centers, I took my kitten to be sterilized and she is currently in the recovery process.
05 September 2023 9:13
This place is a god sent. My dogs have take. Off on me a few times and I’ve called them to see if they had them and they told me every move that my dogs made until they were on route to the shelter. Price sux but still go great full to have gotten my dogs back with help.

We are a caring pet fam with a beautiful property with fenced in yard. I walk 7km a day. We went to Lincoln Wed March 16. We meet an extremely shy dog in a stuffy little room. It was ok. A little weird I thought outside on a walk would be a much better meeting place for the specific needs of this extremely shy dog. The next day, I had an appointment with the shy/nervous dog, they didn't even try to get her to know us. They took her to meet our dog out front where, they said, she had never been with cars and trucks going by. They didn't let me hold her leash or anything, how can we bond? The dog walked around scared and didn't acknowledge my calm older male which the description said she would be happy with. We were willing to work on it, and fit the description for the dog to a t. They rejected my application without saying anything. Originally, they said the application would end when I ended it. Then, they wouldn't let us see any others I have to make another appointment? There was nobody else there! Two of the girls who were working there were rude, dismissive and lacked enthusiasm. We felt like we were intruding and our presence was unwanted. So we left. Poochless. I don't think they know as much about the dogs as they pretend to. It's like they don't even care about them. Not sure how they expect to adopt out animals with that attitude! Cruel! I wish I had asked to speak with the manager right then and there. I called him later for the record and he said things would change. I hope that is true for the sake of the animals.

Afterwards we went to Niagara Falls and Fort Erie, who were more than overjoyed to show us as many dogs as they could! They were awesome!
18 March 2023 20:21
Your employees Lexi woods and maddie caughill are completely unprofessional and rude. Not people I would ever trust to look after any type of animal. Thinking it’s funny that a persons dog accidentally got loose and can’t afford to get it back. Try showing some compassion as another human being. The lowest of lows and absolutely disgusting behaviour, you both should be fired. At the very least punished. When you work somewhere there should be some level of required professionalism. Maybe have a team meeting and discuss the basic decorum of being in business. Show some decency.
14 March 2023 18:55
I gave 3 stars because I did not visit this business personally, but I am sure it is probably worth more stars!
11 March 2023 16:12
Went to vet clinic very nice staff and efficiently ran. We brought a stray cat that chose our home for fixing
23 February 2023 18:38
The animals seem well cared for here - and need homes. The staff have written helpful descriptions to help prospective owners know if their home will be a good fit.
21 February 2023 1:02
Just had my two barn cats spayed through their spay program. The staff were amazing. They run everything so well. My advice to others is always be patient. Things take time. I appreciate their reduced pricing. Thanks for everything!
11 February 2023 1:43
This shelter does not automatically test all cats for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus - basically kitty HIV). My wife and I came to adopt a cat and decided on a gentle and friendly girl named Camaro. When we found out that she hadn't been tested, we had to pay $75 to get it done and found out that Camaro was FIV positive. Since we have other cats at home, we couldn't really risk taking her for the danger of our others getting infected, so we had to let poor Camaro go and choose a different cat to adopt. It's hard to make an emotional commitment to a cat only to find out that adopting her could bring harm to our other pets. The other shelters in the area routinely test for FIV, and so should LCHS.

Fantastic place with excellent service. Lincoln County Humane Society is such an important service provider for our furry family members. I've had both my dogs spayed and nuetered here for a quarter of the cost my Vet wanted. Vaccinations are available as well. Lincoln County also helps the community with wildlife concerns. We had a litter of 4 fox cubs in our neighborhood and they all developed mange and were thin. Lincoln humane Society provided traps and we captured 3 of the 4 cubs. They were taken to Grimsby Urban Wildlife Center and rehabbed into healthy teenagers. They were just released Thanksgiving weekend. This is such important work and support for our community. Please give what you can in support.
11 January 2023 11:52
We adopted a little dog end of life care and she is the best dog ever. Thank you LCHS for all you do for these animals in need
04 January 2023 13:16
Super organized and super clean. Staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and very polite. Highly recommended.
28 December 2022 7:45
Where do I begin? ! This is one of the most caring and loving humane societies you’ll ever come across. Hands down they all love and care for the animals to the best of their abilities and all the staff goes above and beyond to make sure all animals are adopted and go to the best furever homes possible.

In 2019 I wanted to do something to help rescue organizations to help them get more funding and after rigorous search of numerous rescues available I came across LCHS and after seeing how executive director Kevin Strooband drove all over Ontario to have 16 cats adopted and find them those furever home. After seeing how he went above and beyond to make sure these animals will have a good life I decided to do a fundraising fashion show to help and raise some funds. After VENAO Swimwear fundraising fashion show post which we raised thousands of dollars for Lincoln County Humaine Society, I came across my soulmate Amari. At the time of delivery of the cheque my partner and I decided to see all the animals there and we saw the smallest of the dogs that was so brand new her papers were not yet processed. My parter and I fell in love with her and immediately asked to adopt her, filled out papers and got her in a matter of 2 weeks. (She had to be processed and operated on and then make sure she was recovered) So in 2019 LCHS made my dream come true and I adopted my baby Amari (see pictures below) my soulmate and the best fur baby anyone could ever ask for. Even all the staff were absolutely in love with this “love bug” as they called her.

Within the years of having Amari bless our lives we visited LCHS numerous times for vet visits and check ups. Also because my rescue indoor cat decided to one day go for a walk and got lost and sure enough within one day I called LCHS and they had her there after some home owner near by found her close to their home and called LCHS to come and get her. So they saved my babies twice now.

Not to mention all the staff who are absolutely amazing how they care for all the animals. Courtney is the one that had helped me get Amari’s papers processed and I am grateful to her for eternity.

So if you can adopt any animal please do so to help Lincoln County Humane Society find all their fur babies their furever home. If you can’t adopt please make sure you donate directly to them as they absolutely need it and will use it to help as many animals as possible.
09 December 2022 21:51
While I appreciate them for taking in all these animals, however they are failing on the medical care of these animals. I understand that there is probably limited resources but the care and health of the animals should be number 1.
And yes I have my reasons to say thud.
04 December 2022 20:52
Great care for pets and seamless adoptions. I personally have adopted 3 pets from here and they take a great deal of care and responsibility for them, as well as a easy adoption process.
10 November 2022 23:57
Brought a kitten in who was lost in St. Catharines. They said they would scan for a chip and if not put him up for adoption.

I’ve heard this is a kill shelter… but was told by other shelters we had to bring him to this one because of where he was found. Hopefully who ever told us is wrong.
23 October 2022 2:52
They do not answer their phones when it comes to rescues, I called 12 times at different times because i had found a live domesticated rabbit thrown inside of a dumpster so i had to call my local animal hospital to assist. Absolutely ridiculous.
29 August 2022 6:52
I am writing to express disappointment with treatment my daughter received when having to give up her kitten today. She came home crying because of the way she was treated by an employee. It is very stressful for people to have to give up pets no matter the circumstance and while I understand you are busy and crowded it is never okay to shame or bully someone already in distress because they are surrendering a pet. She did what she was told to do and that was to bring the kitten to you. Complete with blanket, kitten food and toys. We do not take this lightly and my daughter is traumatized from your interaction in addition to losing a pet. I am in health care and understand we are all under stress but you need to do better.
14 August 2022 8:16
Took my boy in an hour ago to the spay & neuter clinic, to get neutered. He was so scared and barking and Elly was beyond such a sweetheart in helping calm him down and assuring him he was safe and okay. So big thank you Elly!
30 July 2022 18:08
Usually good service from them but they have been called twice today and no one has answered or reached back out to us.
10 June 2022 13:10
I brought my 1-year-old male cat to the LCHS Spay and Neuter Clinic. They were great with him. He's an indoor cat so was very traumatized just going in the car, so much so that he wouldn't allow them to do the pre-op exam.

But they managed the very angry cat well and the operation went great. The pain meds were liquid and pre-measured in syringes so we're easy to give to him.

My only suggestion for people considering this clinic, and you should, is to have a softer collar for your pet. The plastic collar used at the clinic caused hair loss around his neck.

But I am confident my cat received the same quality of care that he would have gotten at much pricier clinics.
27 May 2022 8:18
We found the newest furry family member at the humane society All of the staff were super kind and knowledgeable.
21 May 2022 12:37
I was supposed to get a call back within 3 days and nobody has still got a hold of me a week later I have tried a couple times in the past as well
23 April 2022 3:52
They are very helpful, they give free cat and dog food to those who might be struggling to afford it, Much appreciated!
16 April 2022 8:45
Terrible staff. Will no longer support them. Manager Courtnie is very rude. Sad I can no longer get behind the humane society. I am an animal lover and always will be. But disgusted at you
03 April 2022 20:06
Such an amazing place with great staff and knowing that the animals there are loved. We adopted our new family member with ease.
03 April 2022 6:54
I just wanted to post because I happened to be in the lobby when Nik O (who reviewed below) came in. He came into LCHS in an aggressive manner that immediately made me feel uncomfortable. He continuously verbally abused the two staff members present. He at one point threatened said staff members by saying “you’ve messed with the wrong guy”. I waited until he left because I genuinely thought that he may become violent.

The staff member and manager were professional and responded to him in a calm voice. They were clearly attempting to de-escalate the situation but he came in looking for a fight. Absolutely disgusting the way they were treated. Nik you should be ashamed of yourself and owe both those staff members, as well as the public members that witnessed your tirade, an apology.
15 March 2022 8:57
We heard a cats cries from a hole at my daughters place. (construction work being done). While we waited for help to arrive, and with the help of a very brave young girl, we managed to get the cat that was buried down 4 feet. The LCHS showed and the 2 officers were so nice and explained the process of what happens next. I don't know the status yet of the cat
(he was not in good shape), but I know that they will do everything possible to save him. And hopefully I will be approved to adopt him when he recovers. He Deserves that.
Very fast response, As they arrived 15 min.after we called.
THANK YOU
07 March 2022 16:08
Got our cat, Oreo, fixed at the clinic. The staff was amazing during the entire procedure, from booking right until pickup and the few aftercare questions we had.
04 December 2021 7:04
They’re closed on weekends and close early during the week, not sure when someone is able to try to adopt a pet with such limited hours…
30 November 2021 11:42
My wife and I adopted a dog from them about a month ago. Our experience with the society and their staff was nothing but positive. From what we could tell, their staff have some of the biggest hearts around and they have nothing but love for the animals in their care. We were fortunate enough to be able to adopt with them and we were also fortunate enough to make a financial donation to the society after the process. The adoption process with LCHS can be stressful and long but please remember, the animals they care for are their number one priority. If you are serious about adopting an animal with them, please be patient with the process and remember that they are doing their due diligence to make sure these animals go to safe and loving homes. Best of luck to them and all their animals! Thank you to all their staff for what they are doing for these beautiful animals in need. Continue the good work!
24 November 2021 19:13
They refused to answer there phone. If you are in need there is no point going to these people. They can't seem to do the simple task of answering the phone
08 November 2021 14:23
They are very compassionate about helping peoples animals and not ripping them off like most vets! I highly recommend taking your Animals their!
27 October 2021 18:18
I had organized over the phone to help my dad put his ill 14 yr old cat down.
It was bitter sweet.
Staff over the phone were fantastic and supportive.
My dad explained to me how that day had gone for him. From what he said sounded he had support and was able to say his good bye to his dear fur baby.
Thank-you so much for what do you
26 September 2021 6:29
They now have a food bank for pets and people with a refrigerator. If you have a garden with extra vegetables you can drop it off there
02 September 2021 13:46
BELLA got great care when she was spayed.however, she protested about this onesie and did her business on the area rug.so 4 days later I had to take it off. The onesie wasn't a good idea for her.
27 August 2021 6:13
They were great helping us pick a new member of the family. When the dog we liked didn't like our current dog they suggested a pup that was instantly a perfect match.
05 August 2021 16:40
Same vet services like any others in the area except they are non profit. It’s something I’d support and their services are more affordable than traditional vets. If you have no pet insurance, this might be the low cost alternative. Only downside is that they do not employ more vets so it might take awhile to get an appointment.
05 August 2021 11:17
We recently adopted a cat from them. The staff was amazing, helpful and answered all of our questions. Adoption process was very quick. Would highly recommend them.
22 July 2021 2:15
I've called numerous times, always answered by a recording. I've sent numerous emails, always answered by an automatic reply. Does anyone actually work here?
10 July 2021 21:02
Excellent staff, thoughtful and kind. I had great communication with them. They fallow the safety procedures in this covid times.
09 July 2021 8:23
We got our second cat from here. She might be shy and timid but she's a lovable purr machine. Great staff, quick turn around on the adoption even during COVID.
12 June 2021 16:59
So helpful and friendly, helped out considerably with my dog that was abused by my neighbor. Can't thank them for being there enough in a situation that never should have happened.
01 June 2021 12:33
They have taken great care of our cat since we got him last year, and he'll be going in for a visit in the very neat future.
30 March 2021 19:30
I took my dog to get her shots at the vet here and they are one of the most covid-safe organizations I've experienced.
We waited in the car for the appointment, then they took my pup in on her own.
The appointment started about 45 minutes late, but that happens with any doctor:) thanks for keeping my dog safe and healthy.
25 March 2021 13:06
Wish they were able to do a bit more for the dog that I brought in that was found. But overall, it was a good experience with the Lincoln Humane Society
30 April 2020 0:41
They were wonderful with my little fur baby! I had such anxiety about her getting spayed but the staff was great, very organized and totally affordable. My vet in Hamilton, great staff as well but charged more than DOUBLE.
Highly recommended
23 April 2020 22:27
Great service.helped with cremation of the family dog.were extremely respectful and helpful during the time of loss
29 March 2020 15:15
My beautiful German Shepherd was altered at the spay/neuter clinic. Thanks to the vet and all the staff for taking such good care of her.
26 March 2020 20:14
I feel like I'm gonna be sick. Someone calls you guys because their dad who has had two dogs 10 and 11 their entire lives spent 1000 getting one fixed 3 months ago when attacked by a dog and he gets sick comes to you and you tell him he needs to paid for their euthanasia before even meeting them. You say because no one will adopt them.is it about only take in dogs you can turn over in cost or about helping dogs in need. My comment better stay up with all the good ones that's why they are called reviews. The family should take that horrible experience to the paper
People send donations to help animal's and all you guys about is money. I found two rats freezing outside and was told I now have them and need to pay to surrender them MORE than u charge to adopt them
Disgusting and many people agree
23 March 2020 1:54
I just finished reading the CBC news article about Link and Finn, the two presumably unadoptable fur babies, that the handlers at Lincoln deemed mean from their upbringing. This article restores a high percentage of Human faith for me, I can read articles about humans saving humans and be unaffected but when I hear people helping dogs and animals there is a joy that comes from within me that I cannot control I thank all of you at the Lincoln animal adoption for having such a heart and whomever the brilliant person was, that thought to adopt them to the police station, your karma is immeasurable. I am beyond happy, yay for Link and Finn! ️
18 March 2020 21:14
Great place, but the adoption process takes way too long. I understand you have to check things out. Maybe get some extra help in that area and there will be less animals in there
12 March 2020 2:32
I adopted 2 beautiful cats in NOV. We waited about 3 weeks before taking them to the vets for check ups as I wanted to give them time to get use to us and also use to each other. It was discovered that our little one Jack had severe issues with his gums. It was so bad that if you touched his gums they would gush blood. Jack needed to have all his teeth pulled. I contacted the humane society and I was promised they would cover the surgery since Jack shouldn't have been adopted in this condition. We then got the run around for 2 months and they then refused to return our calls. So I went ahead with the surgery because I couldn't stand seeing Jack in this pain. During the surgery it was also discovered that Jack had Tape Worm. Needless to say I have had Jack for less that 4 months, and have spent over $2,000 in vet cost. I think that they were very disrespectful to us by promising to pay for the surgery then leaving us high and dry. I would have preferred they were up front from the get go and just Said they wouldn't cover this instead of lying. Very disappointed in the customer service. Courtney All you had to do was one phone call and we could have had a talk. Sorry guys you fell short this time.
08 March 2020 22:16
Very good experience with neutering our cat Mercury. He came home drugged out of his mind kinda funny to watch him falling around but recovery was fast and result was effective.
01 March 2020 4:22
I’ve adopted from this humane society for years they are super friendly and always so helpful. They even have affordable pet fixing to prevent extra babies. The affordable rates for adoptions & the time they give you to get to know the pet before you take it home ️ my two babies I got from here
24 February 2020 21:30
We took our dog on Friday to get neutered. Unfortunately I was not there at the briefing I had my adult daughter drop him off. They glued him not stitched him up I would have never agreed to that.he's they never told me that over the phone.now he is bleeding no on is answering the phones and now I have to pay $600 to my vet to get him stitched up properly. I regret the decision to use this clinic. Our family is stressed out and this poor dog is suffering.
24 February 2020 3:19
Meow
The staff are amazing and always friendly. Ive seen that the animals are very well taken care of and the vet always does what's best for the animals.

Stay amazing and Thank you so much for being such fur baby lovers️
11 February 2020 2:53
Got both my wonderful cats from here, without the help of the people there i would not have been able to give my cats the wonderful lives they have now.
09 February 2020 11:29
Did you know that thay will help you with pet food. And any donations for pet food at this time of year helps very much. Thank you
08 February 2020 20:07
The staff & volunteers were very friendly & helpful to 3 pet starved children. Adoption process was very thorough but painless. The facility was clean &well later out. Hours were convenient & parking good
08 February 2020 3:56
Painful to see how what was once a family member is now doing lengthy jail time. I wish they would at least give the dogs beds to sleep on.

Following a messsage from John at LCHS I revise my rating WHY?
He clarified some things and when you think about having a warm place to sleep and food in their tummy is what is most important. Id rather have a lost pup recieving that over homelessness. Thank you John And i could do more than complain about HS which is funded by mostly donations. Thank you for that as well.

Be careful and think twice about adopting from a shelter. We adopted our extremely loving, friendly little orange tabby who was 4 months old. We have had this little guy for just over a month now. When we got him he had runny eyes and sneezing. He had a fever and was not feeling very well in general. We took him to our vet and they cleaned his ears and gave us meds to keep up with the really bad bacteria infection in his ears. The shelter should have known about this and cleaned him up. He never really got his energy back and his breathing became very labored. We took him back to our vet they did an x-ray of his chest and sent us as an emergency to the Niagara Emergency Animal clinic. Diagnosis, our little guy has FIP and we will have to put him down. After a lot of research we found out that it is very common when a cat comes from a shelter with a large number of cats. It is also known to happen in cats less than 1 year. The runny eyes is also a tell tale sign. Do your research before adopting
02 February 2020 13:41
They were excellent. The service was great and my dog recovered from her being spayed with no issues. The staff were friendly and efficient.
04 January 2020 1:34
Very pleased with the staff response to phone calls, emails, staff response on posts. This helps the public in comforting them when a pet is lost. And Finders feeling great about reuniting a found pet.
Having the clinic right next door helps many people. Public transit is right outside the door. Many of the volunteers are on the lost and found groups and assist in reuniting owners to pets. Front desk staff are amazing
13 December 2019 3:22
They came and picked up an injured squirrel and took him to a rescue place, I was told the squirrel will do ok after some time to heal
27 October 2019 1:05
It was a wonderful and beautiful place. I was there with my family and we had 2 rooms. Both rooms were beautiful and clean. The views were awsome. The cleaning staff was excellent. I would recommend this place to everyone. I will be going back for sure.
14 October 2019 7:01
Whats not to love about an animal rescue & adoption center? Lots of cute kitties, a nice area outdoors for the dogs to play and excersize as well as an array of rabbits. All the animals are obviously well cared for and loved by staff
11 October 2019 17:32
Went in to adopt a rabbit 3 weeks ago. Filled out paperwork, did the application, and was told 2-4 days until it's processed. Called after a week and was told they changed their processing software so there's a backlog. Sure. I get it. Another week goes by and I go in to check. I meet the new girl in charge of small animals and tell her my situation. She remembers my application and says she'll put it on top of her pile. Later that day they call to get an updated number for a reference. Great, I think, things are moving along. Another week goes by and nothing. I go in again and I'm told the vet was supposed to email me. They didn't, nothing in any inbox. She says she'll ask the vet. Turns out the vet did a half day and apparently didn't tell anyone they were leaving. She then says she will text vet and call me when she replies. I ask her to call the vet after waiting 45 minutes with no response. She tells me the vet is very busy and that she won't call them (?). Of course, closing rolls around and no response yet again. At this point I suspect I am getting fked around out of either apathy or incompetence. This rabbit has been in the shelter for 3 WEEKS longer than it needed to be, my rabbit is at home alone with no friend for 3 weeks longer than he needs to be, and I am just left here wondering why I bothered to do the right thing and adopt from the shelter when I could have saved all this wasted time and just went to the pet store. Don't expect any donations from me anytime soon. Completely terrible experience, and I definitely won't be adopting from here ever again.
01 October 2019 4:16
Do not get your pet spayed here! They shaved my dog up to her rib cage and up her side, way beyond the spay area and even cut her with the clippers a number of times. Now not only is she healing from her surgery, but her other cuts as well. They also made errors on her official documentation that listed the wrong breed information even though they just had to copy it off of her original forms I filled out. Impossible to get a hold of or have questions answered.very rushed in and out and overall not a great experience.
29 September 2019 18:57
Great customer service, always helpful and answered all my questions. And they really do love and care for all the animals.
