The Lumberjack Restaurant

One of the longest operating (if not THE longest) restaurants in Windsor. There is a reason. CONSISTENCY. Love them.

The food and service are consistently great, and they handle large groups well.

However, my motivation to write this review today stems from my desire to share a positive experience about the waitress we met today, Chantel.

Chantel was excellent at my table, but it was her kindness (I overheard) at another table that really left a mark on me. Seated next to us were an elderly couple, and the level of attention she showed them was remarkable. I have never seen waitstaff, or any other service professional treat customers with such consideration and empathy. It warmed my heart. Chantel's actions exemplify the type of interaction one would hope their loved ones encounter in their golden years. I am so pleased to have witnessed her kindness today - inspiring.

Expensive and very average food.
Don't get me wrong it was decent but the prices are higher than your average breakfast.

Good service. Food was very good. Large portions, had to take some home. Homey atmosphere. Lots of parking.

If you want a really delicious and generously portioned breakfast in Windsor, The Lumberjack is a winner! Really friendly service, and the best marble rye toast!
Recommend the smoked salmon benedict.

On October 4,2023 I made the mistake of treating myself to breakfast on my way to a forum.
I ordered bacon, eggs, home fries, rye toast and coffee.
The bacon looked like it have been in a war and was shell shocked. It was almost black and shriveled up and was hard as a rock. When I tried to bite into it I could not. For the cook to send this out to a customer is outrageous and shows an attitude that this cook does not care about the food that they prepare!
The home fries were hostages that were released from a war camp. The rye toast was burnt and could not be eaten so again please talk to this cook as this never should have left the kitchen
The waitress took the cost of bacon off my bill.
I will never ever give my business to this place again as 2 strikes and you are out.my rating is ZERO! I stopped in this morning to treat myself to breakfast. However, the older non-working chatting waitress had other ideas. There were 2 tables of people and I observed the other younger waitress working. The older waitress, let's call her Chatty O was chatting to a table right beside mine about some personal business. I stared at Chatty O for approximately 5 minutes but to no avail as her personal time was more important that serving me. So I got up to leave and Ms. O decided to walk over to my table. I held out my hand and said " I don't want to interrupt you" and left. I felt that even if I stayed Ms. O's work ethic was non-existent so I may have received my breakfast in 2 days. I have no tolerance for terrible customer service and hope that the owners speak to Ms. O about this incident and losing a customer. Oh to you Ms. O "have a nice day"!

Great restaurant for breakfast. Portions of food were just right on the 55 plus age portion of the menu. Will definitely be back when we come back to Windsor.

Anything else you can cook it home on your own. Really you can cook your own breakfast at home as well.

There isn't a better place in Windsor for breakfast. Lots of choices for breakfast meats.not only your usual sausage and bacon, but peameal bacon, seasoned pork loin, grilled chicken, chopped sirloin, even fish cakes. Home fries are great fried or grilled with onions. Eggs are eggs. Omelets are excellent. In a world of increasingly generic and/or self-consciously trendy eateries, this cozy cafe with its comfortingly retro exposed-wood decor never disappoints.

Very good food, reasonable prices and a nice place overall. Chantelle took care of us and she went above and beyond to make sure we're having a good experience, great customer service!

Great tasting steak and veggies. The bbq chicken sandwich was amazing. I just got a bite definitely going back to get my own. And my daughter says the grilled cheese was the best she ever had!

The bacon was good, but the eggs were bland as heck and the hash browns needed more time in the fryer!

If management decides to clean the place I'm available. Corn beef hash wasn't cooked enough- potatoes hard and the side of homefries were sitting around for awhile and luke warm. Coffee good. Not the waitresses fault. Very disappointing.

Perch was dry and overcooked. Baked potato had no taste actually old. Waiter was pleasant and helpful.

I ordered a burger Medium and it was burnt to a crisp and extremely dry. My wife ordered a chicken breast and it was also very dry. We finished off our meal with some mozzarella sticks and not to my surprise they were the WOSRT mozzarella sticks I have ever had. Me and my wife had one bite each and had to spit them out. Not sure if they're normally this bad or not, but I definitely do NOT recommend this place.

Our server Monday morning was so sweet and kind. Breakfast prices were very reasonable & delicious.definitely will be back

I highly recommend The Lumberjack great French onion soup. The best chicken Caesar not only is the food great but the staff treat you like royalty. Fast friendly accurate food always hot and as ordered. Always asked if anything is needed and excellent manners. Bathrooms could use a little pick me up but otherwise do not change anything else. Just need to be put on the map

Great family breakfast this morning. Food came quickly and hot and was served by the friendliest and professional server!

Go anywhere else for breakfast! I haf gone to this place years ago and loved it. Decided to take my daughter there for her birthday breakfast. We ordered the lumberjack special with all the meat. First the waitess was of the rudest ladies I have dealt with. The entire food order came out 2 minutes after we ordered which wad shocking how fast it was but here's way.

All old food that was precooked long ago and just sitting under a heat lamp. Home fries were disgusting and chewy from drying out, the eggs were over cooked, the bacon was so hard and stiff from sitting out you couldn't eat it. The ham was cooked on one side and looked like lunch meat on the other. Even the toast was old and not toasted from sitting out so long.

Maybe it was just a bad day for them, but based on the nasty waitess and old sitting out food I definitely will not be going back to this place.

It's sad that you can't even make toast to order let alone anything else.

Love this place. Food came in a timely manor, service was friendly, no mishaps with food or bill. Atmosphere is calm and family friendly. Definitely coming back.

Gone there for breakfast for years and I have to say it's the best in town. Wonderful Staff, Amazing food. Superb Service. Definitely recommend coming

If your going for steak great choice, that’s about it. Got the dinner for two, ribs tasted frozen and thawed with no flavour, chicken was dry and over seasoned, that being said the steaks are amazing.
