Catherine was responsive, engaged, and such a pleasure to communicate with. Her booking process was simple, and the portal she uses made knowing our next steps super easy.

Based on the information she requested from us, she was able to mold our ceremony to fit our style and our story the best. She accommodated our requests with ease, and is also bilingual. She truly made our ceremony special, and kept the “audience” engaged throughout. She also spoke very clearly and was not monotone at all!

Catherine officiated our wedding on September 18th and we will remember her and be grateful for her work for years to come! From our first meeting we knew Catherine cared and was here to tell our love story. She was always there to answer questions, give suggestions, and tailor-make our beautiful ceremony. She thought of things we hadn't considered (her hanging onto our rings so my husband didn't have a lump in his jacket pocket), and she kept us feeling so at ease and confident on the day-of. After our gorgeous ceremony, I had people ask if Catherine was a family member because she seemed to know us so well! When our video recording turned out to have not worked, Catherine emailed me everything she had wirtten for us so we could still remember our entire ceremony. Catherine was absolutely amazing. Her communication from the beginning was spot on and she answered all of my questions promptly.we opted for the "paperwork" option as we are planning a destination wedding. Catherine picked a beautiful spot on Major's Hill Park and had a cute little set up for signing the papers and candles on the ground. It was quick and to the point. She provided great initial information on what to expect, what she needed from us and how the proceeding would take place. When she arrived she showed a great personality for this line of work. She related instantly to us and matched our energy immediately. She was very kind, patient and a lot of fun to be around. It made the day quite special having here there. She personalized the event very well and even took some pictures of the group for us!

Catherine was amazing! She was quick to respond to any questions, and met with us soon after I contacted her. It was really important to us to have our kids involved, and she was extremely patient and did a great job at included them. Highly recommend!

For our 25th wedding anniversary, I wanted to surprise my bride with a ceremony to renew our marriage vows. We had traveled to Ottawa for the occasion and having no contacts in the area, I needed to find someone to perform the ceremony. Enter Google. The Merry Fairy website caught my attention for its lighthearted name, professional appearance and the variety of services offered. In particular, the renewal of vows was hi-lighted and exactly what I was looking for.
Catherine Walter responded almost immediately to my on-line inquiry and was very accommodating to my plans and helpful in reaching my goal. She had many suggestions for locations, a variety of vows, ring exchange and ideas for the ceremony itself. Due to unfortunate weather at the time, several changes had to be made on the fly and Catherine was extremely calm, patient and flexible.
When we arrived at the beautiful site Catherine had suggested, my wife was overcome with joy and completely surprised by the romance of the ceremony, which was perfect. Catherine had invested considerable time to learn about our history, family and life together. She prepared a beautiful summary of our journey to this day, which included the exchange of our vows. It was a wonderful day.

Catherine was a fantastic wedding officiant. Using a questionnaire she gave us at the time of booking, she was able to capture the essence of our relationship with beautiful words. Many people later commented that she seemed to know our relationship well despite only communicating by email a few times before the wedding. She is a gifted speaker and we had a lovely ceremony that reflected our style.
