The Open Cork Restaurant & Lounge

The food was pretty good, but the servers seemed a little overwhelmed to the point where they weren't the most polite. It may have been an off day, and I'd be open to trying again.

Amazing seafood restaurant, the atmosphere is great. They have a bar area as well as a regular dining area.
Would recommend trying the seafood chowder it's the best in Ontario

Food was mediocre and not worth your time/money. The seafood antipasto looked like it came out of a tuna can, definitely not fresh at all. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience.

Nice and cozy restaurant with an option to book a separate room for 20-25 people. Food is good too, priced at the restaurant level. The menu is diverse enough to please everyone. Recommend.

This is one of my favourite Italian eatery. There are two sides to Open Cork, there is the dine in and then the lounge in the other room. I've only been to the eatery side and it's beautiful.

Food was amazing as usual. I had the jambalaya, mussels, and fried calamari.

Jambalaya - Pasta is cooked Al Dante, sauce was flavourful and they don't skimp on their protein.

Mussels - tasted great, sauce very yummy and can use it as dipping sauce for bread.

Fried Calamari - I always make sure I get the fried calamari when I'm here. It has a nice light crunch from the batter and I like the thickness of them.

Looking forward to dropping by the lounge area next time I come by.

Albanian families love to come here and staff speak Albanian even tho it is an Italian based restaurant. Overall, good.

I treat my sister to take out every 2 weeks, and I try to order from a different restaurant every time. We have a rating system as well. I spent $50+ on lamb provenciale and calamari. She rated the meal a 3 and asked me to never order from The Open Cork again. The portions were small, the lamb dry and tasteless. The calamari was the only decent part of the meal. 3 stars is too generous. -1 for the prices charged for poor quality food.

Maybe it was an off day. Maybe we chose the worst thing on the menu and everything else is great. We will never know. I won’t risk wasting $50+ on a subpar meal again.

Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and really good food (had the Salmon and friend got the tiger prawns)

We went there in a group of friends. Only One person had their vaccine status checked. Later the person who checked the vaccines was walking around without a mask. Very inconsiderate these days. The noise level was very high and it was quite impossible to talk. We had to leave early.
The waitress was ver friendly and caring and the food quite delicious. Just follow the rules please.

I tried to make reservations but was told it's first come, 1st served. Fair enough but I explained that we're bringing my father for his 90th birthday, standard rules, no exceptions. There's absolutely no way my Dad can stand around waiting for the next "available" table.

Hit and miss. Fried Calamari as appetizer and my entree were good, however my wife’s Eggplant Parmigiana was definitely plated way too early and served cold. Mine was nice and hot. Weak no effort apology and that’s about it. We don’t send food back for obvious reasons. Asked for to go containers and left. This could have been 4 stars, very much want to support this industry at this difficult time but no excuse for the attitude and rookie mistake. Agree that mask protocols not followed.

Excellent place to have a good summer night dinner, good ambiance, delicious seafood paired up with tasty wine. Perfect for a night with friends or to bring a date.

Amazing food with great prices. Never a disappointment coming here. Always happy with the service and food. The seafood platter can feed 4 people and it’s extremely tasty, worth the price as well. I recommend this place 10/10!

Open Cork is an institution, and with a reason. They have been excellent and always innovative. The place is amazing and always reinvents itself.

Veterans, the deaf etc.beware, no service dogs allowed.the manager refused me access because I have an invisible disability. Was not interested in reading the Ontario’s disabilities act. Not too long ago, people with disabilities were put away iland forgotten.

Service wasn't the same as it was 4 yrs ago. The place was full but service was really slow. You can easily see that they were short on staff.

Great food and was very special because I had lunch with 2 friends I hadn't seen in very long time. They treated me to birthday lunch!

Food wasn't the best looked good though but didn't taste the best the squid was very rubbery, waitress was nice and friendly, but all an all it was an ok experience

Just an amazing place! Excellent service, best choice for food! For the lunch bar is one and only the best Nevila Maria Aneta and outside are to many of them but one is Maria! Keep it up girls we support you! Great staff!

Food very good. Noisy crowded restaurant. Staff does not adhere to Covid protocols. Masks are off constantly. Manager doesn't even wear one.

The owner, Peter is just the best! I'm all about customer service and he makes you feel so at home in his establishment. He is an excellent example for all his employees. The food is always delicious and many options for everyone to be happy. Great hours and relaxing atmosphere. Also location is ideal! Great choice for any small or even larger group events!

The experience was great and definitely worth the price! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a relaxing atmosphere with exquisite food and impeccable service! I'll come again!

Good environment for hang out with friends. Food is pretty good. Variety from both land and sea. Service with no complaint. Lots of parking.

We visited the Open Cork yesterday for dinner. The service was absolutely unacceptable. We waited close to an hour to get our meal. The two tables next to us came after us and were served and left before our meals arrived. The staff kept apolozing and blaming the kitchen for the delay. After numerous complaints by us, the chef came out to apologize and offered to cover the cost of my meal. At this point we were already stressed out and I respectfully declined. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Will not be back.

This is the second time I've gone there for dinner and been disappointed! Food arrived to table way beyond time expected! Food was cold as usual very disappointed!

Went to ask to look for a room for December, and mark (owner) wasn’t wearing a mask didn’t care after I asked if he could put one on since I had my kids with me (kids under 11). Do better

Our server was lovely, but the vast majority of the staff weren't following proper masking protocols, which is very concerning (either walking around with no mask at all or not wearing the mask properly or only wearing the open clear mouth shield). Would've given this restaurant a better rating if that were the case. They were also out of about a quarter of the beer selection and missing a lot of wines too. Nice patio.

The restaurant is very nice. Our waitress took forever to bring appetizers, drink and food waited over one hour to get n our dinner and not as good as expected. By the time the food was out it was late and took the food to go. Service needs improvement better time management. Very disappointed won't be back. Also there was no contact tracing done nothing was ask us.

Went for lunch on Saturday. Haven't been there for years because I have had hair in my food in the past.

Ordered a toasted clubhouse sandwich. Bread barely toasted and the turkey or chicken or whatever that meat was, was so dry it wasn't chewable and if we had tried I am sure someone would have had to perform the Heimlich manoeuver on me. It was that bad I told the waitress that I would not even serve to my dog. Also the owner runniing around in a dress shirt and pants and.flip flops! Are you kidding me? People walking in without masks and no one said a word!

Great food. Massive patio. Feels comfortable and you will not regret dropping your dime on this place. The owner is always bouncing around to ensure your happy about the establishment. A great eatery. They make you feel like your eating at home but with way better food. Two thumbs up. Love this place.

Love the food here - huge portions at a reasonable price and vegetarian friendly! We also were not rushed to leave the patio. We had a lovely time!

Beautiful restaurant patio but we were seated and got bread 20 minutes in. We waited an hour and didn't even get our appetizer yet, all we ordered for the appetizer was stuffed mushrooms.
They had way too many people seated for the staff they had working.
What was more shocking was two tables that were sat 10 minutes after us were done their meals and we hadn't even gotten our starter yet.

I had the Artichoke chicken breast and my fiance had land amd sea fettucine. My first time coming here and defiently cant wait to return here either. It was busy and yet food came so fast. I enjoyed the ambiance big time. The patio is hands down my fav in the city. The owner is super cool its no wonder his restaurant is such a pleasurable experience. 5 stars for sure.

I met a good friend here for lunch yesterday and it was fantastic. Great big patio right out front and a great, casual atmosphere. The martinis and blackened chicken caesar salad are awesome too.

Decent food, but subpar service. Our waitress only came to drop off food, and never came back until we asked for the bill. Didn't once ask to refill water, or if we wanted another drink. Probably won't come back again.

They have very nice patio. I've been going to this place for the last 8 years and for all that time we enjoyed very delicious food there. My son loves their steak. It's very rare a restaurant to have excellent food quality for so many years.

Our server had their hands full with our group of 6 adults and 3 kids but handled us with ease. I'm mentioning this because we are a group of indecisive individuals that can easily confuse a server with the amount of requests we have. Every order came quickly and exactly as we customised it. The seafood platter was delicious and I'd definitely go back for it. Overall, this is a great place for groups as the staff can definitely handle it.

Our experience this afternoon could not have been improved. Flavorful fresh food, well presented, perfectly cooked. Fresh hot coffee, good wine. A professional server. Thank you to everyone.

Was here with a big group from work and they did very well. Ordering was efficient, food was all correct and they kept on top of things. Food was great too. One of the people I was with is vegetarian and they mentioned the menu didn't have many vegetarian options, but when he asked, they said they can accomodate with most dishes on the menu. There's a big patio with lots of shade and plants around. Looking forward to my next visit.

The wait staff was awesome. Considering the craziness of downtown Toronto for the Raptors win, it was busy and they acted like it was an every day event. Definitely will go back.

Pretty decent place to eat. Would have been nice if the waitress came by our table every once in a while to see how we were doing (had no refill on water for the entire time).

When ever I crave for some calamari this is my number one go to place. There pastas are great as well.

Nice patio and A+ food for a very good price (the calamari app is a meal). Service is very personable. I've been here enough times to bump my original 4star rating up to 5star.

Went for dinner on mother's day and had a reservation so almost no wait to be seated. The food is fantastic but we waited an hour and a half for our food. The server tried to come by when possible but service could be better. My guess is that it was just a busy day as others were shocked at the wait as in past visits the service was outstanding. Worth the wait as the food was good but room for improved service. I would recommend and will be back.

Horrible service tonight. Our waitress was arrogant. We kindly asked to split the bill. She originally refused, rolled her eyes and called my friend "hun" before providing us with one bill. We had to manually split the bill and ask for new bills. Horrible service. We were at table 602 and checked out at 20.31. What a shame! The food is always good.

Great service and ambiance. The food is very tasty and reasonably priced for the quality. Would come back here again for another nice dining experience.

My friends and I came here for dinner and this place was so perfect! Amazing atmosphere, delicious food, HUGE portions, and very good prices! We were all so surprised by the amount of food we all got and what we paid! I had a glass of their house red wine and even that was 9 oz. And only $6.95! It was GOOD wine too! I ordered the mussels in saffron cream sauce which was not only so yummy but also such a big portion that I could barely finish. I'm pretty sure I got over 30 mussels! I also got fried calamari which was one of the best I've had in awhile. My friend ordered the seafood risotto which I'm definitely getting next time! I'm still thinking about it. Another friend had the squash lobster ravioli and it was delicious! To top it off, our waitress was super friendly! Love this place! Highly recommend! Keep it up Open Cork!

Best dining experiance ever! The atmosphere was great, the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, 4 different dishes and they were all delicious and affordable! I've been to so many different resturant and never has my food or drinks come out so fast! So satisfied with this place, will defiantly come back and recommend!

We always get the best & friendliest service and greeting. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is warm and inviting in the main diningroom; we love sitting by the fireplace. The seafood platter is amazing, could feed three adults for sure.

Really nice modern decor, and delicious italian food. Has a nice veggie menu and delicious stuffed mushrooms.:)

Had the pleasure of having a lunch meeting here. Quiet back area for meetings. Staff is friendly, decor is beautiful. I ordered the spinach fig salad with steak. Steak was ok but the salad was completely soaked in dressing. I didn't complain but should have.
