The food compared to other Korean restaurants I went before, is not very authentic. The side dishes they gave us is very basic few kinds, and not tasty nor authentic.

The wrost things is they are the first restaurant I went to being forced to pay tips. When we ask for bill, the 15% tips already being added on, because it's handwriting on the receipt, it looks like 5%. We ask the staff if it's 5%, they said yes. However, when we got home, calculate again, it's 15%. We don't think this is reasonable. We don't accept charge huge amount of tips but not be acknowledged the truth. Tips never should be forced, or determined certain amount by restaurant, it's customer right. We will never going back again.

Whenever I visit this restaurant, there is a price increase. Stir fried spicy chicken was $19.99 before tax. It was full of onions, barely chicken. Nowadays, everything is getting expensive, I understand. However, if I pay for chicken, I don't want my plate to be full of onions. Please be honest about your food portion!

The staff was excellent & super friendly.

Came here for the first time with some friends, the food was bangin, food came pretty quick, and the staff were very nice:)

Excellent food. Their menu has everything. I originally went for pork bone soup and it was amazing. I then tried the fried chicken and it is one of the best in GTA area. I also tried Gapchae and Tteokbokki and they were also very good! Despite my initial reservations of the broad menu, everything was good and service was impeccable!

This restaurant makes me so happy all the time because every menu is so delicious and so fast serving food.
Especially I recommend the soy garlic chicken.

The food is so delicious. I am satisfied every time I visit. I had a great time with friendly service and delicious food.

First time being here from the U. S.and it was an amazing experience! I was so into finishing the cold noodle and forgot to take the picture beforehand. The portions of other orders are pretty big and we had more than enough left overs for our dinner. Great place to go when you ate craving for Korean food!

This is the best Korean restaurant in Scarborough. The servers are always friendly and the dining room is clean. Kamjatang hotpot, Bibimbap, BBQ beef rips, and no. 24 (spicy pork) is my favorite food. They don’t disappoint me with the same taste. Soju is a fantastic combination!:)

Just had an incredible dining experience at the Owl of Minerva Korean restaurant! The food was delicious and authentic, and the service was top-notch. I highly recommend the Jajangmyeon and the Jeyukbokem, both of which were cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making for a great overall dining experience. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes!

Visited this location three times in the last six months. The foods were superb, authentic and always served hot. Their service is quick. However, during my visit last week with my husband and sister, I was quite upset. You know when someone wants you to leave when they are starting to show their cleaning cart. But we haven't finished our food yet and we're the only guests at that moment. Yet, still I always come back here for the great food.

The food was good as usual but I was disappointed that they gave us "bean sprouts". Clearly asked them for the baechu kimchi. It's not even the reddish kimchi. I need to have kimchi with my korean foods.

Very disappointing, order was incorrect using UberEATS.
The fault lies on the restaurant, food came lukewarm instead of hot, cheap plastic bowls, mediocre or downright appetite killing food.

Objectively.

This location is not as crazy busy as the other location. More relaxed better service, free parking too. Food is not overpriced. Quality is good

Gamjatang ramen(pork meat is fine, tender. But the soup in this location is less flavourful. Ramen got too soft after soaking for some time. Better get rice for this dish
11 February 2023 20:54
Havent been back to this location in a few years, and everything looks about the same. They always do a solid pork bone soup, but for almost $20 a portion with tax, I wished they served more side dishes. My go to dish is always the ramen kamjatang.

Haven't been here for thirteen years. The previous store on Yonge Street changed its sign, but the taste of this store remains the same. Even the pork bone soup comes standard with four pieces of pork bones.

Here are the best pork bone soup and Korean beef and mushroom soup in Toronto. Thirteen years ago, every night after class, several of our friends would eat and discuss at the Hooters restaurant.

Time has passed, but the taste remains the same...

Food is amazing, service is friendly and atmosphere is bustling. I had their signature gamjatang (pork bone soup) which was delicious as always. This time I also tried the fried chicken and blood sausage which were also really good. Highly recommended!

I ordered catering for the end of the year party and the food tasted great as well as the service!

I thought I was in the wrong place when I having my orders
Price go double high up (I understand)
Food is terrible
Will not go back

The food is actually pretty good, but it’s the details that make me feel this is more a three star place. The pork bone soup was nicely flavoured and had a good amount of tender meaty bones. However, it was just lukewarm. Similarly their seafood pancake was decent, though I did find it strange it was full of regular onions instead of green onions. But what bothered me is, instead of the tasty dipping sauce that it normally comes with, they just gave soy sauce packets.

I can't emphasize enough. They got good pork bone soup! Also the beef ribs served in beef broth is also amazingly warming and fullfilling

Are you following me this the original The Owl of Minerva The high light is the Pork Soup comes out hot and tasty with many side dishes my favourite is the sweet potatoes. Affordable prices limited parking, spaced dining tables, good lighting.

4 stars for consistency.

I usually try to avoid chains, but I’ve always had good experience with Owl’s foods from their other locations. I’ve been to this particular location a handful of times. Nothing “special” about them, but decent portion size and consistent food quality earns them return visits from time to time. Service is also fairly quick (I’ve only ever gotten take out at Owl, I can’t speak to their dine-in service)

Had porkbone soup. Portions are big, including the side dishes. Well worth the price! Wait time was about 10 minutes for the food and service was good.

It was my first time eating at the Owl of Minerva.  The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous.  The boneless, soy-garlic chicken was delicious; it wasn't overly spicy and had just the proper amount of sweetness and savoury flavour.  I really enjoyed the Kimchi Fried Rice because it was well-seasoned and has the right spice. ️

The good'ol classic owl Kamjatang!
You remember going clubbing in the early 2000s? And nothing quite hit the spot afterwards as good as a hearty bowl of kamjatang with a side of rice.
Same flavour cept it's right down the street instead of downtown.

Actually it's down the street from my parents. We haven't visited here in years but today we decided to stop by and man. The pork bone had more meat on it than ever!
Pops barely finished his, and had some rice left over too. Mum doesn't eat spicy so she had the LA galbi and some seafood pancake, which was delish.

This location is usually quieter than the one next to my house at FMP, don't let that deter you. It's spacious and service is attentive with friendly ajummas.

Lots of other items on the menu, will try next time.
Oh who am I kidding? ! It's all about the pork bone soup babyyy. Seriously I'm living in the past.

Loved the soondubu and we got a hot plate chicken as well. Both were amazing. Service was great and lots of options on the menu.
19 October 2021 14:15
Food and service at this location is better than the others. The staff is always nice and friendly, we drive down all the way because it’s worth it. Generous portions of appetizers too. Thank you!
31 August 2021 16:35
Delicious food at a great price! My fiancee's brother left the kimchee pancakes in the car for a day but they still tasted alright.
04 July 2021 18:19
The pork bone soup was okay, I still thought the one at Yonge and Finch is better in taste. Broth is much richer. I ordered jjajangmyun, what a mistake. They used udon noodles, the paste tasted too gingery. When I spoke to the ladies working there, they laughed and admitted they don't have the proper noodles. "at least it tastes good" was her reply in Korean. I disagree, it was awful. It was disappointing and service was nonexistent. Obviously they don't have lots of Korean customers. Says a lot about a Korean restaurant! Will never return to 'this' location.
13 June 2021 3:56
So pricey! There is nothing fancy about the dishes I ordered, bibimbap and bulgogi, and yet they are so expensive! For the price, I am expecting a bowlful and yet it came as half-full. Not worth it!
20 May 2019 7:33
Bad service. The food was alright, but the service was terrible. They don’t separate bills and there’s always this guy mashing meat on the tv. They also took my change thinking it’s a tip, it was $7.
02 April 2019 4:19
Great food, friendly staff. Korean brother who worked late one night was very friendly and gave us tips on what’s good on the menu during our brief chat. My wife and I have been at every single Owl in Toronto and eat KamJaTang at least once a month. I’d say this is my favourite out of all to visit.

Unbelievable number of choices to select from with the perfect blend of amazing food and great service. Highly recommend it!

Looking for real korean food? This is one of the best place you need to try. Food is fast and original with kindness services Located on 4733 steels east.
17 March 2019 8:40
Amazing Korean food with good portion sizes. Enjoyed the stir-fried spicy chicken as well as the Korean style pancake. Highly recommended; I would definitely go again.
01 March 2019 11:30
Very good authentic Korean food at reasonable prices! Have been here multiple times and have always received excellent friendly service. Their specialty is pork bone soup but everything I’ve tried on the menu was delicious and the portions are generous. Would definitely recommend!
28 February 2019 2:42
Much better food than other locations. Soup are rich and meat is fresh. There are tons of parking around the store as well.
26 February 2019 21:09
The atmosphere is comfortable and staff are friendly! I had kimchi jjigae and soondae, both were very good. The only reason why I give it 4/5 is because they don't accept cards for $20 total, which makes it suck if you come alone. They also don't take MasterCard.
26 February 2019 20:13
I paid 38 dollar, not including tips.but there was probably 50G beef hotpot. My gf and I was still starving after the 42 dollar meal. WTF?
12 February 2019 19:12
I am Korean and I was suspicious about this location given the fact that very few Koreans frequent the Scarborough North area. There are even restaurants that claim to be 100% Korean. My friend warned me against such businesses. I gave this location a try after many moments of hesitation. I can CONFIDENTLY say that this place is authentic in terms of food and taste! I ordered Korean sausage stew and ordered extra Korean sausages. It also passed my “goodwill test”: I made a reasonable request to have Korean sausages only in the stew and as for the additional order of Korean sausages I asked for half-sausages and half-livers (I was told ahead of time that the livers are a bit dry). I still gave this location five stars because I put them in my stew which made the livers soft. I have had experiences where many restaurants failed my “goodwill test”. Good taste and standard prices! Side dishes are fresh too. It’s the Owl-branded restaurant. Authentic Korean restaurants are RARE in this area of GTA. I sometimes get a strong urge for Korean food and hence it is important for me to find a trustworthy place. The other one is Sharon Garden near McNicoll and Victoria Park. For me, I like this Owl better than the Sharon. I live in Markham and I would love to come to this location again. This place is Matt’s Test Approved:)

I love this location. They have more choices than the location on highway 7 and their portions are larger too. The service is so quick and the staff are really friendly. The food is so tasty. I find myself going back frequently.

Very accommodating service, Generous portions, AMAZING food, good value for money. Our top choice when it comes to eating out in the area. Highly recommended!
