The Parlour Inn Ascend Hotel Collection

My fiance and myself booked a night at the parlour inn so we could see spamalot.
Spamalot was fantastic but our room was a huge disappointment. The shower had mildew dripping from the ceiling and the whirlpool was surrounded by mildew and patch work silicone as well as the jets being full of dead skin and other detritus. Cleaning rooms properly doesnt take long. And if you dont enjoy cleaning rooms dont run a hotel, its very simple

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. The location was fantastic and the front desk staff were very accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.

What a great stay in Stratford! The Parlour Inn lived up to my expectations and more. The customer service was unbeatable! They have a free shuttle to the festival (which is amazing), and Kristen who drove us there (apologies if I got your name incorrect) was so friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping even gave us a rose during our stay. The rooms are a bit older but clean and really show Stratford’s history and charm. Parking is free and right next to the hotel. Check in and out was fast and completely hassle free. We didn’t get a chance to try the restaurant but it looked good. We will definitely stay here again the next time we’re in town.

My daughter and I stayed one night as we went to two plays at the festival. I personally really enjoyed our stay. Your establishment exceeded my expectations.

Great location for taking in a show, service was good.the room was very small and the floor was slanted, the AC was blowing right at you. Very expensive for a hotel in a small town.

We had the Haddock and chips, smash burger, and the Pavlova for dessert with cappuccinos!

We arrived late. Spare pull-out was already turned down. Very thoughtful of the concierge to do this! It shows nice attention to detail. Room was clean and had nice toiletries. The blackout blinds are superb and we have a nice, quiet sleep. Room temperature was perfect.

Places for improvement:
Mugs in the Thomson suite could be bigger as the large Nespresso machine option overflows the current cup.

Also, the handrail that leads from the exterior main entrance to the street sidewalk is rusted and broken off at one end. It's a bit dangerous for seniors and definitely requires some maintenance for safety.

Nice stay at the Parlour inn. The hotel is located in downtown Stratford. It’s clean and quiet. There is a restaurant at the hotel and it’s also close to many good restaurants. Unfortunately, there’s no breakfast before 8am at the hotel. I will come back.

I stayed at the Parlour Inn for one night. The staff were very nice, the hotel looks lovely from the outside and my room LOOKED very nice if a bit small. I had a Queen sized bed, chair, small dresser and small TV with limited channels.
I had two problems with my room.
1. The smell. As soon as I walked in, there was a slightly damp smell. Almost like dirty feet. There was carpet in the room and when I took off my shoes, the carpet felt slightly damp and gross. I put my shoes right back on and didn't take them off again unless I was climbing into bed.
2. The bed was AWFUL! The mattress was completely caved in on one side as though one person had slept on that side of the bed 10,000 times and never on the other so I felt like I was trying to sleep on a hill all night long. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep.
For $300 I expect a seriously nice room with a comfortable bed! Absolutely ridiculous. I'm frankly surprised by the other good reviews unless I got the only dud room in the hotel which I seriously doubt.
3. I have to add a third. Again. For $300, at least a continental breakfast would be nice. They have a sit down restaurant, but it was clear that it would be an extra charge, so I left and got a coffee elsewhere.

Customer service at the hotel was above excellent!
My husband and i came for 2 nights to celebrate our anniversary. Unfortunately on the second day, we needed to check out early due to a family emergency. I was fully expecting to pay for the 2nd night given it was already after 4 pm and i had booked through Expedia. Without me asking or having to explain my situation, the wonderful gentleman at the front desk let me know that he wasn't sure if he could refund me the 2nd night b/c of Expedia's policies but would put in a dispute to Expedia on my behalf (and i wasn't even thinking of asking, given my mind was on the emergency at home!). 10 min later he called me back to say he spoke to Expedia and got the 2nd night charges waived. He also noted that next time i should book directly with the hotel (they can provide the same rate and be more lenient in case of cancellation). Great hotel staff, thanks so much for advocating for your guests, and good on Expedia for waiving the charges as well.
Hotel room itself lost a star just because it smelled a bit musty and was a bit dark and small. It's an old vintage hotel and the weather was well over 30 degrees Celsius (very humid) so i think that this can't be helped. However the hotel has character, room was very clean, the AC was working fine and the jacuzzi tub was great.
Location is amazing, walking distance to everything.

The hotel was clean, quiet and the room were very spacious with gorgeous high ceilings. However, check-in was very slow and the AC in the room was barely working and didn’t cool our room down very effectively, which was unfortunate because we were in town on such a warm weekend. But otherwise, it was a good experience and I would stay there again.

A beautiful setting with private rooms or the regular sitting area. Lots of selection for food and drink. They also offer gluten free options without an increased price tag.

The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Definately worth a trip to try it out.

Perfect location in Stratford. The rooms are very pretty and super comfortable. Staff is amazing and the food rocks! Go There!

My room was dirty, bathroom had soap scum and toothpaste on it. There was no water and no shampoo. When I got the cleaner, she wet a face cloth under the tap and wiped it. I asked if she had a cleaner and she said no. The next day the room was not cleaned. I called at noon to ask if they could take out the dishes and bring shampoo and coffee. The reception asked if I wanted turn down and I said yes. I went back to my conference and at five it was still not done. When I called they told me they don't do turn down.
I was also disappointed that the other fifteen people in my conference got big rooms with tubs and I was in a tiny room with a stand up shower (dirty). I let the desk know my issues and wasnt even asked my room number. Disappointing and after the lack of hospitality may encourage others not to return.
The two stars are for the excellent service we got during out workshops from staff. Thank you ladies.

Amazing food and the staff are absolutely wonderful. Great atmosphere to the place. Would definitely recommend coming and visiting this place.

Our first experience of the parlour Inn restaurant was very enjoyable.
It was a bit fancier then are usual go to restaurant style, so we felt a bit underdressed for our experience.

The restaurant it self was very beautiful with Stain glass windows and hand carved Wood accents throughout the room and ceiling.

Service was very professional for the setting and was very Helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. However is would say the service was on the slower side when taking our order and Bringing Drinks.

Our group of 4 decided to start off with a shared charcuterie board filled with house pickled fruits/ veggies cured Salami and a loaf of bread with several house made Spreads. It was very delicious. Your pallet must be accustomed to this type of dish or else you might be disappointed.

For our entrees my Parter is very Simple and stuck to a 4 Cheese blend Grilled cheese sandwich with fries.

I had the Dinner special of Prime Au jus medium Rare with roasted root veggies and Garlic mashed potato’s.
The entrees were very good and we were satisfied with the food portions.

The pricing is around what you would expect for a restaurant of this quality. Your paying for quality ingredients used to make in house items.

We will definitely return, dressed accordingly next time.

This was our first time visiting the parlour. We are somewhat local (Thamesford) and wanted to come down to Stratford and see the #lightsonstratforddisplay. We desited to spend the night and make an evening out of it. From the moment we pulled up we couldn't believe the beauty and old world charm of this building. There was ample parking, liquor store across the street and you are in walking to distance to all the great shops and restaurants. Walking into the hotel we were greated by the warmest receptionist who not only was friendly and helpful but gave us some delicious Rheo Thompson chocolates. We headed up to our room and could not believe how spacious clean and beautiful it was. We had a two bedroom/two bath suite (jetted tub and shower) with living space and kitchenette. Due to covid the restaurant was closed but we ordered room service as a mid afternoon snack and the poutine was delicious! Service was prompt, and food was hot. Our daughters felt like little queens in this hotel. We definitely recommend and we will be back once the restaurant is open to enjoy the beauty of it's esthetic and the amazing food in person. If I could give more than five stars I would.

This was my second time dining in (I've mostly done take-out). Food was delicious as always, I absolutely love their fries and chicken gravy. All the staff have been pleasant and knowledgeable. Ambiance is very relaxed and inviting.
A great place for a date night.

The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and attentive. Don't miss the Pavlova it is to die for delicious. My wife and I go just for the Pavlova desert but their other food is great as well.

The haddock had a crispy coating that was extremely thick. More coating than fish. Aioli was good with the fries. Good coffee.

Great for a weekend getaway! Staff were great! Location is awesome! Walking distance to the market district! Definitely recommend!

Sat outside for some delicious lunch. I had the sandwich with chicken and brie, very tasty. Luckily it didn't rain because we under two different awnings, the gap between them was right above our table.

The Plaza New York, The Ritz Paris, The Parlour Inn Stratford. I've traveled to a lot of places, but nothing beat our stay at the Parlour Inn. Spent a night for my wife's birthday, Josh at the front desk went above and beyond for us. They are lucky to have a staff member as dedicated as he is. The room was fantastic. Next time we book we'll definitely have to take advantage of the spa next door.

Had a great stay went for only a night but the rooms were great and the staff was friendly. The patio dining was nice as well food was great would definitely Stay here again.

Great atmosphere and incredible food. Everything we had from burgers and fries to salad and plain old French Vanilla ice cream the kids had for dessert, everything was amazing! Food was a bit on the pricey side but it was definitely delicious and worth the price.

I would highly recommend and will definitely be going back. It is currently decorated for the Christmas season with several trees decorated and balls and wreaths through out the restaurant. However the decor was classy and is not over done. Just nice little touches everywhere with some jazzy Christmas music in the background.

We had a party of 30 people and not one complaint about anyone's dish. I had the prime rib that came with yorkshire pudding au jus. I highly recommend this Inn.

We had a lovely time at the hotel it was spotlessly clean and service was excellent. We were in a two-room suite which was actually very large we purchased the bed and breakfast package breakfast was well worth the extra money as well we purchase the dinner options for 49.95 and again it was well worth the money. Do I have any complaints about the hotel not really nothing was out of order everything was working fine they clean the room without issues I would stay again. Can I try to nitpick some little thing that they could upgrade I would have to think about that for a bit. Let's see they have Nespresso coffee in the room they came by and brought roses for my wife if I had to upgrade anything the only complaint I could possibly think of and it is minor is that the windows someone had opened but didn't close right. Yes very very minor I close them properly and I was not worried about anyone possibly getting into the room as we were on the third floor. So that would be the only observation I had and again like I said it was extremely minor so you can get an idea how everything else was well in order. Upon check-in staff were extremely courteous and very helpful as was at check out.maybe leave one or two more creamers for the coffee machine might be another thing again minor when you figure free coffee was downstairs.and you could easily go get cream sugar whatever you needed down there

We just had a wonderful 75th birthday lunch for Grampa. There were 11 of us, including 5 kids, in the Windsor room. We were all happy with our meals, and the service. From the kids menu, soup & salad bar, lunch menu, everyone's needs were met. The portions were generous and appealing - and reasonably priced. The Parlour is our 'go to' restaurant for special occasions; we're from Waterloo.

Stayed 2 nights, it's fine, nothing special. Surely in need of a facelift, sinks are old and cracked, tubs very old, dingy bathroom.
They take $250 security deposit & we were told " should" disappear in 7-10 days.what!
It's not cheap, and off season a bit pricey, especially since our room looked over a roof of heating & cooling vents.
Restaurant has a great atmosphere, very pub like, food was good, but if they served more pub like food they would be busier. Expect your server to try to upsell you on everything.

Nice hotel with very helpful staff. Rooms are comfortable with all the amenities (coffee maker, fridge, hair dryer, etc.). The restaurant in the main floor is also very good.

The hotel is literally within walking distance of most shops, bars, restaurants, etc. The rooms are amazing, the Parlour Inn restaurant serves fantastic food, and the employees are extremely helpful.
