The Port House Social Bar and Kitchen Burlington

I have ordered thai red chicken curry but tasted stale. My husband ordered Mediterranean white fish. It was way too salty. I think they have changed their chef.

I've never been to a worse restaurant in Ontario. Not only did I have to shell out $20 for a two-hour parking stint, but I also received the most unsatisfactory vegetarian dish (Red Thai Curry) of my life.

WOW wow wow. WORST service I’ve EVER had in my life tbh. Steaks are extremely thin yet priced at 34$ to be the cheapest!
Hidden charges WILL show up on your bill so be SURE to watch what you order and keep TRACK.
The kitchen seems to be extremely slow and working on their own time. There definitely needs to be someone back there.
Servers are absolutely CLUELESS (is it just me or is the younger generations really flunking at life)
Chicken ceaser salad WITHOUT THE CHICKEN AND WITHOUT CRUOTIUNS which took 2 hours to get RIGHT!

Once I lost my appetite, my FULL BLOWN SALAD was taken away without my consent and I returned from the bathroom with ONLY my plate gone but everything else left behind.

The most BIZARRE experience my son, brother, and I had for a first time visit.ketchup was asked more than 3 times and also came an hour later.

Looked at my bill ready to pay and LOW AND BEHOLD I see charges she added of RUM shots to a flipping SANGRIA!

Her name was MATUS or something like that. AVOID THIS SERVER

Came for a friends birthday as some one recommended this restaurant. Service was ok but food is not the greatest.
We were on the inside, but had to move to the patio as they were playing very loud music.
This is a place for very young people, I do not recommend going there at night if you don’t like loud music and a club atmosphere.

Food and service was excellent. Great ambiance and lookout to the waterfront. Wonderdul lunch spot.

Better than expected based on other reviews. Food was tasty, adequate portions and decent service.

Made a reservation for 12,2 weeks prior for Mother’s Day. They said they could accommodate. When we got there they gave us table that fit 8. They were trying to put chairs to try to fit our party but the chairs were going into other peoples tables and the people were getting mad. So I went to manager and said what is going on I made reservations 2 weeks ago why do you not have our table ready. Their answer was oh we only usually provide for 8, so why did you say 12 was fine? They finally after 30 minutes did something without so much as a free appetizer or drinks. I’m so disgusted with this restaurant. Use to be my favourite now you will never see me again. Also, the way the manager was dressed, she was a mess. Looked like she just woke up. Hair was dirty and her outfit was like she was wearing pjs ‍️

Not to happy with the service.this was my girlfriends bday cake.they said they would make it special so.this is what to expect.

My experience here was awful. Get better managers. Disgraceful. Food was horrible. Stay away from this place it’s disgusting.

This place has potential - great location, views, and space. My experience was unfortunately lacking quality of service. Wait time with a reservation was disappointing from the start- reservation was for 6: 15pm and they couldn't seat us until 6: 35pm. Our server was slow and did not take our food order until after our appetizer came at 7: 30pm. The restaurant was not busy and there was no reason for a dinner for only 5 people to be 2.5 hours total. Our bills were all mixed up and had to be reprinted 3+ times.

Made a reservation for 8 and when we arrived they knew nothing of the reservation. I had made it within the hour of arriving. Food was not the best. I had a burger and I asked for no mustard or onion and it came with both. My friend had a pizza which came as some weird flat wrap looking thing that was not even cut. Another person had the calamari and she only eat half as it was not that good.we also waited close to 50 minutes for our food and sat about 30 minutes after we had eaten with unclean table and no bill. We only received the bill because we all got up and started walking towards the door. Everything was terrible and so disappointing as we were actually celebrating something today

Last night I went to Port House in Burlington (Saturday night) for my sister’s birthday. There was absolutely NO crowd control because the place was packed (couldn’t walk to and from my table to the dance floor), the women’s bathroom had no toilet paper for 2 hours until I told another woman waitress (the security guard at the washrooms didn’t care). It would have been a fun night if we were able to move around without being hit or bumped and our bills got messed up by our waitress, charging 12 shots (1 for each of us there) to one persons bill (total for her came to $160) and for some reason she couldn’t fix it. I waited for food (nachos) for 1.5 hours and the waitress proceeded to hand me a bill with the nachos on the bill, 20 minutes after the waitress told me they were on their way she said they didn’t have any left. 2/5 for the experience, 1/5 for the state of the place. The DJ was good, would loved to go back if it’s more controlled and organized next time. The dance floor and tables were nice.

Love this place! Everyone I know goes here. Even people I haven’t seen in forever, I always run into someone i know witch is really funny & shows how good the business must be doing & I can see why:)
Also I went on a Thursday recently & had the best waitress ever! She was extremely nice, got our drinks really fast. I was very impressed especially because of how busy they were. I believe she said her name was Matisse. I absolutely loved her & hope I get her again next time. Also the calamari is really good here.

Dave was amazing. He treated us phenomenally and made our night exceptional. He quickly made us feel warm and welcome. I want to thank Dave, Gerrel and Austin for making our night amazing. Sad display of culinary experience.

Took the family out for an early dinner this Mothers day (yesterday) and afterwards I wished we went across the street to Pizzaolo and grabbed a pie and a seat on a bench beside the water instead. The food we ordered did not need a Michelin star chef to make it but someone that took any pride in cooking, as well as a manager that held the food that was being expedited to a certain standard. The jerk chicken tacos had no spice, filled with cubes of cold and im convinced OLD chicken! (Priced at 20$ for two snack size tacos)
The Margarita pizza was very sad, and probably the worst looking pizza I have ever seen. Truthfully sad. Little to no sauce, an old basil leaf chopped into the smallest of pieces and scattered, and a small sprinkle of 1 boconcini cheese - under cooked. Pizzaoilo was looking better and better with every bite. (Priced at 17.00)

I am not one to complain, especially online. But yesterdays experience showed a place that has lost any care for cooking decent food while passing on the inflation costs of food and the markups for lost business during covid. The only thing that did not disappoint was the lake and the weather - things that i can get for free. Thank you mother nature for that. The Port house on the other hand was a huge disappointment and frankly a waste of money.

AWFUL Customer Service- Mature Age Groups/Foodies DO NOT Go Here!

Got a table outside at this location yesterday with friends. To start, the location was not busy (which raised some initial concerns). Why? It was a gorgeous day, and this bar/kitchen is a prime location downtown Burlington and has so much potential. Stood at the front waiting on a hostess to acknowledge us for 15 minutes. Finally seated. Waited another 20 minutes for a server to come by the table. I understand if your under staffed at times, or slammed.but there was multiple empty tables out back. Servers all seemed absolutely clueless or possibly hungover, and could care less about customer service.

Food was awful. Ordered 3 different appetizers. It was like a child put together the dishes. These were simple apps too- sliders, salad, shrimp. Sloppy presentation, and terrible quality. I don't usually spend time writing reviews, but the quality, service and experience was brutal. This location would be fine for drinks only (if that). As previously motioned, the location is amazing, quite possibly best patio and view of the lake- however staff, and lack of accommodation is running it into the ground.

Poor service. 5 meals ordered, 2 delivered after 40 minutes, 2 delivered after 10 more minutes and the last meal delivered when the other 4 people were finished eating. They completely failed our dining experience and we were seating across from the bar at a very visible table and with a very busy toddler. Oh yeah he gave us our sodas free, Ha. Won't be back.

Awesome location, with a view right by the lake and pier! Ambiance was so on theme and everything went together cohesively. Food was GREAT and servers were super sweet! Their fries were cooked to perfection, will definitely be returning once the weather gets warmer so we can sit on the outdoor patio!

Did not enjoy my experience here today, they didn’t have Diet Coke (said it was flat, but didn’t fix it), they didn’t have a milk, chocolate milk or apple juice for the kids, only oj and some mixers… the food was bad, except the chicken fingers… my chicken tacos were so spicey I couldn’t eat it, waaaay too much cracked salt in the fries did let eat those either… And the kids pizza looked like a mushy mess to be honest, all in all horrible, and for the $95 it cost me to leave hungry and thirsty I was not pleased… oh ya, $100 (add the $5 for parking).

We got takeout and it took them 35 minutes to make some fries and chicken fingers and when we got the food they never gave us any of the sauces we paid for. Food was all cold and tasted like nothing. However the hostesses were very nice and patient.
