We enjoyed a family gathering at the Post and Beam in September 2023. It was a wonderful time and the facility worked out perfectly. We would highly recommend it. Nancy was great to work with too. It's a nice private location with lots of room to gather or have your own space inside and out. We lucked out with awesome weather so were able to enjoy the covered patio and fire pit. Would look forward to doing it again, thanks Nancy

We got married at The Post and Beam on Aug 19 2023. We got engaged back on January 1st 2022. The Post and Beam was the first place we toured that same month and even in the dead of winter and covered in snow we knew right away we didn't need to look any further.   Nancy and Dave were just so amazing! Felt like meeting up with long lost friends instead of business owners. Warm and welcoming, definitely people we would not just do business with again but would enjoy a conversation and meal with.
I ended up having unexpected serious health issues and they were super accommodating and understanding when it took me far too long to respond to emails and allowed me to come back for additional tour to help me plan our day.

The building is GORGEOUS! Every floor and every room is stunning! Beautifully decorated and  the modern touches are subtle and compliment the original rustic charm.   I cant even pick a favourite room, all spectacular!
Ok well maybe the Lindsay Lounge is my favourite (its ok if I pretend its named after me no? Lol) The Lindsay Lounge has beautiful natural light, cozy seating area, wet bar with cute little fridge. Theres also a piano and TV.   This is where I chose to get ready to get married.   Even the carpet was super soft.

There are 4 king sized bedrooms off the Lindsay Lounge and they are all beautifully decorated and so serene with their own full sized stunning bathrooms and amazing views.
Down from the Lindsay Lounge is The Grain Bin with 2 rooms, a queen and a double that we used as our bridal suite. Again the decor and the views are top notch.   We loved having a private little corner to ourselves.
The third floor is so fun! The entertainment! Air hockey! Pool table and a poker table!   Not to mention a 2nd wet bar and large tv.   More comfy seating and the architecture is just stunning! Theres 2 queen bedrooms and full bathrooms on this floor with 2 more above in a loft. Again the decor is stunning.
Every bed is so comfortable and cozy. Linens and pillows were soft and all of our overnight guests had a perfect sleep.
The kitchen is one I would love to have! Beautiful and efficient and stocked with all the appliances and kitchen tools you could need. Including 2 fridges-one of the massive-which was very much needed!

The bar and dining area is so rustic and gorgeous. We loved the extra long bar and fireplace! We were also able to use the tv to show videos of those who couldnt make it.

Outside is breathtaking!   We got married right at the waters edge by a giant Willow tree and with all the water fowl swimming in the distance. Really there isnt anywhere here that isnt amazing.

Some of the words our guests used to describe The Post and Beam:
Perfect
Enchanting
Like a fairy tale
Beautiful
Best venue theyd ever been to

Absolutely hands down would come here again!   Would love to renew our vows in a few years here! I admit I was teary-eyed leaving!

Zero negatives loved it all from beginning of booking to check out.

Thank you for an amazong stay!

Make sure to ask for a discount!
Nancy loves to support local!

Bit of a long one but I want to share my experience with Nancy from the post and beam…
Nancy contacted me on Facebook marketplace, she saw some pictures and wanted the muskoka chairs I had listed,
She wanted a discount as “she likes to support local” (not sure how a discount supports local but we agreed to a price)
I tried to contact her the night before delivery with no response, got ahold of her the day of delivery and told her I’m an hour away, she said to “trust her and she’d send an etransfer”

I delivered the chairs over an hour and a half away, sent some pictures to her and she’s now asking for an invoice, these chairs were bought on Facebook market place, we can’t provide an invoice we’re not a business.
We’ve tried to explain that to Nancy but she was under the impression we were a business for what ever reason.

She kindly let me know that she has family working for the Canadian revenue agency, and she needs an invoice so she can write off part of the purchase of her discounted locally supported muskoka chairs.
If we were to provide an invoice it would have to be at a higher rate but she’s now not willing to do that
There was no mention of an invoice until days after the order was placed and delivered.

She’s said she would drop off the chairs as we can’t provide that invoice, I waited for a week for that to happen but…
She’s claimed she’s since called revenue Canada on me as she feels wronged… once again this was Facebook marketplace… (would any normal person get an invoice for anything other than maybe a car?)

She’s refused to drop off the chairs, and has since claimed (hasn’t come through yet) to sent payment for the original amount as her family in the cra has informed her she just needs a picture of the add and the transfer

I would think twice before supporting Nancy and the post and beam!
Any issues she has with you she might contact revenue Canada and report any thing she can think of Factual or not!
