I ordered their “special” turkey avocado club. Arrived with NO turkey in the sandwich? ! Only avocado and lettuce inside. I let the waiter know only to wait 15 minutes for another waiter to come out with a bowl of turkey and asking me it it’s okay to have on the side. I said I’d rather have it in my sandwich. They take back the SAME sandwich (half eaten) stuff it with turkey and bring it back. To top it off, they charged me an extra 8% gratuity on top of my bill. That sandwich was definitely not worth $18. WORST SERVICE EVER!
First time there, went on a date. Played pool and took some tequila shots. There was a lady that had the most obnoxious laugh, the entire night. That just means that she was obviously having fun. End of the night I had fun. Great place, good food, good Ambient environment.
Pretty average, just like any other Firkin restaurant out there. Food was average. Price was average. Staff was fine. It was quiet when I visited at lunch time on a Friday.
I took my daughter here for a birthday dinner. The waiter wasn't very pleasant and also I purchased a beer on tap for the promo of a chance to wins tickets to the Raptors and never received the entry form. The food was very tasty and I assume that the waiter had something going on that made him less friendly.
The only saving grace from the 10+ experiences I’ve had at this pub was the server Holly. Unlike her male counterpart who works the late shift on Thursdays (mid 30s, lanky Caucasian gentleman), Holly was consistently kind, polite, checked in on every guest, and remembered our orders. She’s a wonderful Front of House staff member - our friend group often hopes that she helps us every time!
Her counterpart would consistently roll his eyes upon my entire POC friend group would enter, he would visibly be frustrated when we would to decide add pitchers to our orders, he would never check in with us, and he would forget orders. This gentleman has easily ruined the experience of each group I have brought to the Quail. It is truly a shame because our community loves our times had at other firkins including the Fox (from what I recall has the same owner/manager). After his boasting of his tenure in the service industry when cashing us out, we remain baffled, disappointed, and presently awaiting the chance to experience his stellar service from what he referenced.
Aside from a decent outdoor patio space, it’s short comings of a franchise operation is omnipresent over corporate chains where owner/operator approaches patrons from a confrontational as opposed to a collaborative experience; when attempting to provide feedback, franchisee proudly states that we should not come back! Customer service coaching much needed.
So far so great! The food was excellent! Wings were perfect with a tasty side salad & chicken strips so tasty with perfect fries. Had the best classic Caesar (drink) and a refreshing Coor’s Light. Service was very attentive and friendly.
One star for beverages. Zero for thier generic dry, crusty wings without waitstaff quality assurance atop mandated 18% gratuity and owner not open to any feedback of experience!
Would love to give an additional star.food was okay.atmosphere as expected but great service. Decent local beers on tap made it a little better for overall appeal
Ordered for delivery: fish n chips and knew that this standard pub fare wouldn't let me down.love the beer battered haddock (all fish, thinly battered and not super greasy) and fresh cut fries, def as advertised, highly recommend
We sat here for colleagues farewell lunch and it was a good experiance. This was my first time at Yonge St (Rosedale location). It was quiet, because we were there at noon. Loved the ambience and the decor. They have a pool table & you can actually play POOL here. You can also sit at the patio. Food was good and they have lots of drinks option. Portion of the food was really good for 1 person. (even 2 depends)
I ordered plant based burger with fries which was super delicious. Server was super nice and quick as she served 10 of us in a quick time. Highly recommended to try this at least once. Will defiantly go back to enjoy some more food and drinks options!
3.5 Stars: Nice neighbourhood pub, but the food is so-so. I haven't been here many times, except to watch a couple of games with friends. I had the fish tacos the other night and the fish was fried (prefer grilled). They had zero flavour: the guac was bland, as well as the other veggies they came with - dull, dull, dull. Next time I'll skip the food and stick with beer.
Food was good, too many menu's to choose from, brunch, in house, on line, all 3 had different meals, server was attentive, courteous, prices acceptable.
Horrible experience at this establishment last night. We live in the neighborhood and went for dinner. We had placed our order (table of 7) and were waiting on our food. It started to rain lightly. We had one umbrella and my husband moved a second umbrella from next to us to cover the whole table. The man came out and told us we could not do that as it had to remain for other guests. There was not one other person sitting on the patio (on the road), and what new patrons were coming in the rain? How is one to eat a meal in the rain? Then the man came out and started folding all the umbrellas up (spitefully) so we had no shelter. We had no other choice but to leave at that point. Such a rude and inconsiderate man. You would think after all the lockdowns, you would appreciate patrons wanting to eat their meals outside under umbrella's, instead he was rude and lost 7 customers who will never return. As we walked up the road, every other restaurant on the street had umbrella's up with people sitting under them. This restaurant clearly does not care about their local patrons. This man, whomever he was that worked last night, should really loose the attitude and appreciate people willing to stick it out in the rain, We will never go back, and never experienced this at any of the other establishments in our neighborhood.
Highly recommend this place, Pablo & his team here run an excellent operation, with seasonal craft beer offerings, excellent service and an extensive menu (not to mention the AAA+ location) it's our fav hot spot in Summerhill, continued success!
Good pub food. Liz, our server was friendly and new her job really well and she made to best bloody Mary I've ever had. Enjoyed my clubhouse very much.
Was here recently to watch a football match. Everyone was very friendly and service was great. Atmosphere was top notch and fun. Recommend the Shepard's pie!
The end of a brutal week, no food in the house! Dying for a feed of fish and chips. Called this place: within 15 minutes.crispy crusted haddock (massive piece) and chips.hot and just what the doctor ordered! BRILLIANT FOOD!
Some reviews mention above average pub food and I couldn’t agree more. Daily specials here are good and some dishes are straight up next level for a pub. Beer deals are good too although there’s not a lot of options. Service is always friendly and efficient.
Always good service. They asked which game we wanted on the TV nearest our table. Food is always good as well. People are down to earth, what more do you want!
This place is nice, but the attitude of the bartenders is terrible; they charged me for a bunch of drinks that I never ordered. ; NEVER leave your credit card in the bar in this place
Amazing atmosphere:) cool lounge area at the back with couches and comfy chairs. Up at the bar is a good time too, it seems like a place to go often. Good people. Great staff. Stiff drinks ;)
Food was great but service was horrible. I felt like the waitress rushed us through the night (I went to spend time with a friend). Ordered was rush, removal of plates rushed, and pretty much she asked as to leave my asking us if we wanted the bill.
First time visiting this location. Ashley and Peter was my servers they where nice and very on the ball. The food was great. I love the customer service I have received.
Pretty decent pub fare for a franchise. Went there for lunch on a Monday and the service was polite and friendly. I'd personally recommend the bangers and mash, and the beer selection looked decent as well
Great place to meet up with friends. Good food, friendly service, lots of beers on tap. There is a lounge area at the back with a pool table and it's a great area to host a private party or work event. In the summer they have a large patio.
Quail is a mediocre pub with main stream beer selections. The wings were a bit less than average. Bit if you are craving an average pub experience this is the place to be. The only nice element about the establishment is a half decent patio.
Pretty cheap but ultra smooth beer (especially thurs-sunday iirc), incredible hummus platter (in value too), and has a pool table. Has unconventional wood stumps for seats beside chairs in one area, was cool.
Sidenote: Beyond burger combo was 18 so maybe next time or when it's cheaper (I like to save).
Went for dinner and drinks with a large group. Fairly quiet for Thursday evening. Had the chorizo Mac and cheese. A creamy mix and served in a sizzling mini cast iron fry pan. There were Thursday specials on food and drinks. A few in the group had the fish and chips but 2 found the fish not cooked through.
I'll start by saying that I do not generally like franchise pubs/restaurants. However, the Quail is an easy walk from a friend's house, so we go often. Service is always friendly, the food (for a franchise) is surprisingly tasty, and portions and prices are decent.
The perfect pub to have a good time with friends or family. They offer good quality and tasty pub food and a great drink selection. Very nice atmosphere and awesome service.
