Loved this place, we were there on a Friday night and had a great time with the girls! Food choices you don’t see everywhere which I enjoyed! Something different, which was nice
Nice English style pub, the beer selection is decent and the food very good. I particularly liked the rarebit bites and the seafood chowder pie. Waiter was very friendly, made good recommendations. Definitely will visit again
I used to work here a number of years ago. I came in for Sunday brunch this weekend. I had the full English every single morsel was gleefully devoured. I know from my experience working there that everything is done in house. The quality of ingredients is exceptional. I highly recommend this to anyone who is missing the UK. If I could give six stars I would! Planning to give come back on Sunday evening for the roast! * Only note: I kind of think the temperature on the grill for the eggs is a little too high it was giving me too crispy bottom. It made my Sunny side eggs a little overcooked.
Great Pub! Love the atmosphere, wonderful space. I had the Steak and onion pie and my wife had the Rib eye steak. Both dishes were extraordinary! Love the staff, very friendly. Thanks!
"Our promise is to be a proper neighbourhood pub, with fantastic from-scratch food. "
Do English people like burnt eggs? Is this how they eat eggs over the pond? I can't imagine you serving this to the queen. The Q&B Full English Breakfast. $19.00 + tax and tip. Put this picture on your website.
Fresh salad and hollandaise is generous and fresh. Eggs are great, although over-easy will be broken and the kitchen still sends them out.
Full English. Mushrooms are terrific, tomato is fine. Fried bread is deep fried and really, really greasy. Beans taste of nothing more than tomato paste and Worcestershire.
Proteins are weird. Bacon is delicious, though very thin cut. Bangers are very poor. Peameal is weird, tastes kinda like roast beef, and isn't very fresh. Maybe that was the problem with the bangers too. Or maybe that's the famous authenticity of British cuisine.
A really great pub and restaurant with amazing atmosphere and a wide selection of beers. Make sure to go upstairs for the comfy couches. Lots of big screens for the soccer fan!
Quick service, caesars were top notch. The building itself is so, so beautiful. The upstairs patio is definitely an intimate treat, and the service was phenomenal! Will definitely be back
Pretty cosy, a bit too dark to my taste, yet a warm place in the cement, steel and iron "jungle" downtown Toronto. A nice retreat from the Dundas and Yonge, overcrowded and noisy area which is just a few meters away.
Solid restaurant just off of the hustle and bustle of Yonge Street. Very few tourists, a beautiful little street, and a reminder for me of what Toronto used to be like. Limited tap list but decent selections (shout out to Left Field Greenwood), We had fries and the cauliflower bites and they were tasty, though the cauliflower could've used.more goat cheese. Friendly servers and a nice night, looking forward to going back again soon.
Had the Yukon Crusted Seafood Pie and a German beer and it was an outstanding meal. We plan to eat here again before leaving Toronto! Desert was also delicious. Don't leave Toronto without visiting the restaurant at least once.
While we only stopped in for a drink, we got to sit inside and we are 100% coming back for a meal/night out! Monroe (apologies if misspelled) was our server and she had an super friendly and positive attitude! Aswell as the rest of the staff! Super cozy and warm! Wish I took better pictures of the drinks but like I said, we will be 100% back! We loved it! Would recommend to anyone thinking of a nice place to eat!
The food is fine. Great, even. But here's what disappointed me:
1. The service started out fairly inattentive/slow but improved over the course of our lunch.
2. The bartender forgot our second drink order altogether, though he did come back to confirm it and presented it quickly afterwards. The drinks are standard, nothing to write home about.
3. The Sunday Roast portion sizes are small for the price paid. Plus, they charged extra for some extra gravy, which I thought was ridiculous considering how much gravy they served in the first place.
Overall, very good. Would return for the lesser-priced items again, probably and would likely place a takeout order instead.
Oh, and I wish they had a nice trifle on their dessert menu!
We lucked out with a good brunch experience here. We were cheerfully greeted when we arrived and were promptly seated. Our server was very good and he had a lot of subtle jokes that made our morning. The garlicky dressed kale with Lardons and pulled bread was really good. We also enjoyed the corned beef hash and sunny eggs, avocado toast with fried haloumi and sunny eggs and the Q&B full English breakfast. Next time I will have the morning beverages our server was recommending.
Great typical english pub. I had their pot pie of the day and it was delicious, full of flavors. My friends had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it as well. Generous portions. Our waiter, Johnny if I remember well with a lovely scottish accent, was very helpful, we had a great chat with him and gave us a lot of advice about how to commute in the city and nice places to visit.
BAD EXPERIENCE! To begin with we asked three times to the server and seemed like the manager or the owner if we could get a table instead of a high top and he refused saying he is saving those tables for a party of 4 as it gets busy. But then he allowed other party of 2 people to sit on those tables. And it was not busy at all. The server did not know the menu when we asked for some more info on the dishes. And dint even make an attempt to even find out and let us know. About the food it was MEH. Everything just had one note of curry taste. It seemed they dint want people to come in and dine.
Had a lovely lunch outdoor. Very attentive wait staff and the food was extremely well prepared and very tasty. My lunch companion had the fish and chips. The fish was lightly battered and really tasty. I had the curried chicken open-faced sandwich and the only thing that I would suggest to change with that dish is to scrap the solid leaf lettuce on top of the bridge and add some arugula instead. There were pine nuts within the dish but I would also recommend that they toast the pine nuts and sprinkle those on top for a little added texture and a more nutty taste. All in all it was a delightful lunch!
Was not pleased with the service and server did not check on us the whole time until we asked for the bill. We were unhappy with the food and was waiting for the server to attend us.
Great food and service here! Incredible authentic British pub fare. Have been coming here for years. Held many dinner parties here with friends and colleagues. Can't wait to dine in again!
This pub is a great place to meet with friends! A fun selection of foods and a wide range of drinks. Plus the service is incredibly friendly! I recommend the Queen's Lemonade and their cherry ice cream.
This restaurant gives awesome service and delightful food. One of my favourite spots around town. The food served rapidly and the rates were fair. Recommended.
Great atmosphere. Great place to watch EPL soccer. One of the few pubs that successfully replicates a true English pub. Fantastic roast dinners on Sundays.
Absolutely adore this place. Had the pub steak with creamier potatoes & it was perfect. Ordered medium rare with a glass of Malbec. 10/10 would order again. Sat upstairs which is very cosy and the service was great. Very charasmatic servers.
Very cozy little English pub in an original old structure with a casual lounge upstairs with soft leather benches and a warm atmosphere. Staff were all really friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The beer selection was very thorough too. I had a Coffee Porter which was great. Keep in mind that the beers on the chalkboard are bottles or cans only and the beers on tap are only on the menu. The menu was just a little expensive for what we got - $8 for a slice of toast with some cheese and tomato - all sides were extra too - very tasty still.
I visited the Queen and Beaver on a weekend night in fall 2018 to catch up with an old friend who lived in the area. We sat on the second floor at the bar. The place has a comfortable, dimly-lit and warm vibe conducive to hanging out over drinks for some laughs or intimate discussion. We both ordered a burger which was quite good and the condiments offered we higher quality than I was accustomed to (e.g, higher quality mustard, relishes, etc.). Apparently, they make a lot of their own things from scratch which seemed to enhance the flavours of the food. I would definitely come back, though I would arrive early than I did to ensure that I got a table!
I have been living close to Q&B and my school is also near here so I have been coming here a lot. I like the atmosphere, the summer patio is great as well as winters if you sit upstairs near fireplace even though not working but hanging out on the couch and watching a game with friends is like just hanging out in your living room! The food is a little bit small for the price in comparison to other similar pubs also if you don't like the bland style of English foods it can make you less satisfied but the consistency of quality is good. I personally like the food in their sister restaurant Oxley more but both of them are great food drinks and some apps.
I can't stop going here. Great atmosphere, wonderful food, friendly service. The pithiver is really good. In fact, everything I've ever eaten here has been great and I think I've been here maybe a dozen times already.
The server was great, & had a sense of humour with our large brunch group. The food was good comfort food, especially the Sunday roast. Yum! Check it out later on in the day for the sweetbread and scotch egg apps.
Went for the first time for Summerlicious and am in love! In particular, with their great service, and you'll soon understand why.
Firstly, their food is more than just English pub food. It's sophisticated; gazpacho tomato soup, salmon, and chickpea salad, just a few examples. Then again, this is Summerlicious. But still, they know how to do not-so-typical pub food. Now for dessert.
I ordered the lemon meringue pie, but they were out. Originally, I thought I would order their third option of just ice cream, as I'm not a fan of toffee pudding. But the manager Stephen, gave me an option that wasn't even on their Summerlicious menu: homemade peanut butter fudge with ice cream, which was honestly the best part of the whole lunch.
I really appreciate how the manager was kind enough to do that for me when he easily could've just told me to order something else. Not to mention that the other waiters were super kind and friendly. Can't wait to go back again to try their regular menu next time!
A nice English pub, seems traditional in terms of beer selection and fare (but I'm not an expert). Food wasn't for me, but my guess is that it was cooked closer to how it would be in England. Great patio on the rooftop and service was good. Fries (chips?) were average at best, burger wasn't great and bacon on it was undercooked. Fish was fabulous. Price was a little high, but that's Toronto.
I would actually rate closer to 3.5 stars. Decent English style pub - maybe a bit pricey, though given its location in downtown Toronto, it isn't a surprise. My friend and I had the Full English Breakfast. I enjoyed the authenticy of the Fried Bread, however the bacon was American style bacon strips and inauthentic. I think the meal could be improved by using the traditional English style smoked pork loin, instead of American bacon.
Every time I go to this place I have a good time. Decent drinks and pub food. Casual environment. Sometimes it is hard to find a seat, but aside from that great place to go for a pint.
Not only is the Queen and Beaver adorable inside, it reminded me of all the pubs I went to in London, right down to the food, cask ales, and menu descriptions! The fish and chips were so outstanding that we actually went back a few days later to try the burger, which also didn’t disappoint. The service was friendly as ever and the whole place completely charmed us.
This place is simply amazing, went for dinner and loved the food. The options are really limited, but the best part is dish unique and special on its own. I tried pasta with slow cooked lamb (forgot the name), and it was amazing.
Came here a while ago for a work group summerlicous Service was great as well as the food The appetizers we received were alright but the salmon was cooked perfectly, and the sauce went well with it. Overall we were pleased with our visit
Very lovely atmosphere inside that I can only describe as incredibly cozy and incredibly English. If I loved soccer and beer then I couldn’t think of a better venue to watch a game but alas! I care not for either.
But I do love breakfast! Tried their Eggs Benedict (they didn't call it that though) and loved every bit of it! They poached their eggs just so that it isn't too funny but isn't dry either.
Great place to catch an English Premier League game on a Sat or Sun morning. We went last weekend to watch the ManU vs Brighton game. The place was not packed, perhaps because it was not one of the high-profile games but regardless, the atmosphere was good and suitable to watch a game of football. The food was ok but service was excellent.
Overpriced pub food. For a hamburger the size of a slider that came with Sea salt fries and no drink except water. The bill came out to be $20 plus tax and tips.
