Burgers are unique, homemade, absolutely flavourful & delicious. Enjoyed the staff, and the basic comfortable decor. Felt at ease chatting with other customers as each of us had come from other places, enjoying the scenery on this early fall day. Looking forward to returning to try the next tasty meal. Cheers!

Do not stop here if you have kids- a kids "Mac and cheese" was $12 (plus tax and tip) and did not include a side or drink, and the portion was literally a handful of pasta, insultingly small. If it came with bacon or lobster I'd understand but it is literally plain pasta with butter and flour. I cannot come back here (I live in the area) with my kids because of the price gouging.

I had 2 kids order so the total for 2 tiny, tiny kids bowls of plain pasta with no drink or dessert or side included was $30 including tax and tip.see the photos if you don't believe me.

Would consider returning if kids meals were not insulting and I knew for $12 a kid they could leave not upset and still hungry.

My burger was $16 for a huge slab of meat with fries as a side. This means the kids meal is over priced with no real justification based on the other prices on the menu.

The server and the cook (a woman and man) were both excellent and very friendly and helpful. This review in no way is directed at them, but at the management of this restaurant.

Burger was thick and well flavoured. Onion rings were hot and crispy. No issues with the food however you get the restaurant meet motel vibe. Games are sitting on top of a piano, Easter bunnies are still hanging over the window. Like I said already, food was good

Do not waste your time. Went on a sunday evening. Seems only locals get some what decent service? Pretty much were ignored the whole time we were there. Wings were on special and pretty good, would have ordered more if the waitress had come around at all. Ended up leaving and getting a pizza…… also on the way out went to the bathroom and to get there you walk by the kitchen. Disgusting is all I can say. Please avoid.

Went for dinner off peak. Didn't expect alot. Pleasantly surprised!
Burger was good, fries were fresh cut. Prices were reasonable. Service was quick. No one at the table had a complaint about their food choice!
Our server Nate made the night! He was pleasant and entertaining and open, even sang a song.

Terrible experience. Don't waste your time and money. Shrimp were over cooked and tasteless of a rubbery consistency. The steak was as thin as the sole of my shoe and tasted about the same. One salad did magically not even appear. And to make matters worse they ran out of white wine after 3, glasses of 5 oz. This is the worst restaurant in all of Grey and Bruce county we have experienced. Oh and by the way the pictures of the food online are both misleading and unavailable is some instances. Bottom line stay away.

I don't like to leave bad reviews on local restaurants so I thought I would leave it alone but then I read how unprofessional the owner responds. He chose to respond the same way to this one I guess.

The food was great and so was the service. The ribs were very meaty and cooked perfectly. They are dry style which I like. The chicken "fingers" my wife had were nice and crispy. They looked like a half chicken cut into pieces so you even get tasty dark meat.

Shame on you for ripping off musicians because patrons “didn’t like the music”

Do people get to not pay if they didn’t like the food?

I didn’t review your food, I reviewed your business in general and specifically your terrible business practices.

I’m sure the food is fine, but if you don’t pay your suppliers, in this case ones that provided entertainment to your patrons, then future customers should know about that.

This establishment is notorious for not paying their musicians. Stopped in from Kingston on the basis that we were to be paid $200 for our services, which is bound in writing via email. Started our set on time, but it was not busy at the restaurant at all. Everyone who was dining on the patio stayed for most of our set with no complaints, though the venue claims otherwise ("The point of having someone perform is to draw a crowd. We got so many complaints about your 'performance' we lost business. "). When we were packing up and ready to settle, the waitress/manager on duty refused to hold up the venue's end of the bargain, claiming "you don't get paid because your music is horrible. " I personally think this woman just has a poor attitude and takes her frustrations out on everyone else. That said, I wonder if the person responsible for hiring goes through any vetting/quality control process when selecting prospective employees. Either way, this disregard for customer service and professionalism is not a good look for the establishment.

Apparently this isn't the first time the venue has refused to pay their musicians. It's possible that they rely on the advertising of visiting musicians to attempt to circumvent this payment issue, and post skits on social media rather than doing the actual work of promoting their entertainment coming in from out of town.

Got coffee the next morning, and the owner of the coffee shop, after having heard our story, actually said, "Interesting. That place is usually not busy at all. " This is a clear indication that the problem does not rest on the touring musicians who fulfilled their end of the bargain and had been promised compensation for their work.

Also, reading the reviews here, it seems that the responses to the negative ones are full of gaslighting and projection, and don't really address the root of the problem.

I'd recommend that the chefs, who also get yelled at by this miserable woman, find another restaurant to work at where they would be appreciated, and their cooking will not be overshadowed by a very negative experience.

The worst restaurant with poor service from waitress an horrible response from owner. They don't care and told me so. 2 doors over the leeke canoe was fantastic experience and for a small community the red door has alot of negative reports. Very sad. As I've just had appendix an hernia surgery and my friends were trying to treat me. Advertising pub with no choices of beer except a lager.poor poor business

I'm surprised about the J Marcotte review as we've had two great experiences over two weeks, our first two visits to the Red Door. It's quaint, unpretentious and has great burgers.

We ordered their Canada Day special and were very disappointed as I recall they used to have the best burgers in Meaford. Perhaps the main chef was off for the day. The hamburger was burnt on the edges and so dry we had to wash it down with a beverage after every bite. Some sort of green wilted produce was squeezed under the hamburger pattie.perhaps it was once lettuce? The fries were the only redeeming item on their platter.

Food is home-made, hot, hearty, and good value. It's not fancy, but the service is hard-working, quick-witted, and dry-humoured, AND if you're lucky, they may even play guitar and sing a song for you. My family & friends have had super wings, steaks, vegan burgers, ribs and chicken and all have raved! PLUS they serve up COLD Local Bevvies including beers and spirits. NICE going Nate and team!
