This was my first time at the reservoir lounge and I had a wonderful time. I got to hear Queen Pepper perform. There is a $15 cover charge per person and they only take cash. Where we were seated, it was hard to see the stage but overall it was a great experience. Food was small plates and pizza, nothing too special. Drinks were great! I got a pear cocktail and it was amazing. Best of all was the jazz band. The band was outstanding.
My friend and I have been going to the Reservoir Lounge for many many years. And we still love it. The food the music, the atmosphere was lovely. Went to see Queen Pepper on Sept 8th, she never disappoint, we love to dance and she made it happen.
We also sometimes go on Saturday, however lately not so much fun as the band does the same set all The time and talks alot not much opportunity to dance.
Please try to mix it up a little more I.e the music on Saturday night.
The Arsenal is a fantastic Ska band to add to your roster. RSERVOIR LOUNGE.you will not be disappointed.
I HAVE and I will always recommend this place to my friends and family.
They charge $15 cover per person at $12: 30am. Toronto, stop supporting businesses that expect you to pay them to enter the building. This is embarrassing.
Such a beautiful atmosphere with always amazing music and service This is the place to be if you're visiting Toronto or you live in Toronto. Just a wonderful experience! Our server Nicole made our night even more special with her great service
Consistently the best jazz bar downtown. The talent and atmosphere are second to none. Bar service is usually a little slow, but that's not the fault of the bartenders- they just don't have enough people working on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night. If you have a table and go for dinner, the food is decent as well. I recommend it.
Very nice venue, amazing staff having fun dancing to the live jazz music. It was a very nice ambiance and loved the artists. The lychee martini, ginger cocktail and the old fashion were great?
Does this place even return your phone calls? This is my third attempt at trying to get a reservation a month ahead of time, and I have yet to hear back from them. I have both called and emailed and have yet to receive a response from anyone at the, Reservoir Lounge, in the past 6 months. I don't know how this place has such good reviews when the customer service is poor. Im sad because I was really excited to go here, but I guess not
Great place for live music. The setting doesn't allow for many tables to be facing the stage, so if you want to watch the show, you have very little options. Food is decent.
Love the vibe! I went a couple of time to see which artist I prefer. Seems a bit like a speakeasy. Cocktails are good and the bartender knows his job! He created one for me as I don't drink alcohol.
I have been to The Reservoir Lounge several times and had a wonderful experience dancing to excellent jazz bands. I just recently attended Oct. 29th 2022. Is the establishment under new management? It appears that the dance floor space has been replaced with crammed in tables. The atmosphere is not the same as it was a place where people loved dancing to the best jazz bands in the city. Only about one couple managed to dance beside us due to this smaller space. Very disappointing as it used to be one of the few fabulous places to dance in the city. Management needs to reconfigure their space rather than just focusing on more tables as a cash grab. Hopefully others who go in the future will see this change too and speak to management about bringing back the vibrant and fun place to dance back. Unfortunately if they don't return to the venue they used to this club will eventually be out of business and have to close.
Such a great place to enjoy live music and some eats. The house band on Thursdays is rocking. Awesome time and their live lineups are always fantastic!
The martinis were great, the food was on point, the live band killed it! Great vibe and excellent service. The place was packed and all tables were sold out. But that did not affect the excellent service we recieved. At no point did we feel like we were waiting for a drink or our food. Everything was perfectly timed. Another great point is that we were late for our reservation, called and left a message. Did not expect a call back, considering how busy they are, but they called back and held our table for our us. That is class and excellent service in my books.
Amazing music, atmosphere, ambiance, decor and guests. Funk, jazz, swing music. Great date place. It feels like you went back in time. Absolutely love the place. I do believe they have food, however, I have not had the opportunity to try it.
Just went again in 2022, still has the greatness it possrssed before the pandemic. Amazing!
Great Jazz/Blues Lounge. The ambience is so good. The service was very good (thanks to Eva). Food was tasty and the band was really awesome. Highly recommended
Fabulous place, our first visit. Easy parking at Green P at the bottom of Church Street and a short walk to the bar. Live music (Queen Pepper) was great if you like jazz/soul like we do. Excellent food, we had sliders and prosciutto pizza. Server Rene was very attentive and offered valued advice on food and beverages. Have a bit of an in through bartender Janice. Looking forward to our next visit.
I had a really fun night! The band is great and the crowd is fun and enthusiastic. And please order the sliders on the menu- amazingly SO GOOD! Highly recommend.
Music is great, and place is intimate and live the cocktails. But food is outdated. Need update on menu. Food is not sustainable vegan friendly, I can't eat here: (
Had reservations tonight. Cancelled them by phone. But my buddy and I still attended. When arrived there I checked with the manager and ask did he get my phone message. He started to swear at me. I ask him who he was swearing at and this was amazing. When I got my bill they charge me for a extra bottle of champagne. When the band was over and before I headed out I ask the manager did he check my phone message. He replied “follow my rules and you won’t get sworn at”. His company really needs to teach him manners if they are capable of this. Won’t be going there again.
A lovely way to enjoy some blues and some jazz! Our server (and the owner) were so kind—it made our experience that much more special.
The cocktails are expensive, but delicious. The food is also so good—I got the mushroom pizza and it was perfection. The vibe is the reason to go; it’s very chill and has some wonderful music. We suggest going to dinner so that you have the table for the entire night.
The food was delicious, the music and the atmosphere was amazing. It was little bit crowded for post COVID. It has a $15 entrance fee. I recommend to make a reservation if you like to sit down. If not, by around 11, some of the seats will be empty, you may be able to sit on those. We went there on Friday night and Alison Young and her band were amazing.
Back to this legendary venue for live jazz. RL never disappoints, should be on everyone's stop for live jazz music. Front-house staff are amazing! Shout out to Shauna for being a remarkable host/server
This Toronto landmark for jazz & blues aficionados has been around for over 20 years and never fails to deliver a wonderful experience. Great spot for dates, meet-up with friends or even on your own. The bands & vocal talents are amazing.
My favourite jazz bar in Toronto no doubt! So glad I stumbled upon this hidden gem. Had an awesome night here even without a reservation. Such good vibes! The band is amazing, great service and environment, not to mention the food is pretty good too. I’m gonna make this place my second home!
The band was amazing.unfortunately the evening didn't go quite as I expected. The staff were cordial but a little scattered. Sometimes special events open your eyes and close some doors. It was a reality check. Ended in heartache but all parties involved will be better for it.
Awesome live music, good vibes crowd - make sure you know how to limbo on the way to the washroom - the trombone player is the gatekeeper, and one wrong step could cost you hahaha - you'll see what I mean, if you go - it's a fun time
Came here to celebrate birthday of my friend and was pleasantly surprised! Didn't know this place is that good, otherwise would have visited much sooner.
Red hot rumble is an amazing band, btw!
Very nice ambiance, half dark rooms, candles on the tables. Very romantic. Multiple couples sitting around, enjoying the music. The bar has a good list of drinks and cocktails. Food was good as well, not overpriced, good selection.
Very nice place for a date, but mind it - when the band is playing - music gets loud, so if you expect to catch up with your friends - probably not gonna happen.
I came here on a Thursday evening with a couple friends. The Reservoir Lounge has great vibe and the musicians were great. It reminded me of many jazz bars I visited while living in Chicago. The food was mediocre, but I suppose you come here to listen to great music and not for the great food. The place is not very large and thus, it does get fairly loud with the music so if you expect to talk with the people you are with, you may be better going somewhere else.
Had a great time celebrating my birthday there, the server and the hostess was so nice! Been there 3 times and had fun each time. R&B musicians were great too! It's a fancy spot to take a group of friends to spend a medium night between mellow and crazy!
Awesome environment, supper cool vibe. Went on a Friday, live music was on point. Food was delicious. Had a pizza, shrimp, and crab cakes. Deff an awesome place for a romantic date or a girls night out. Dancing is welcomed.
One of my favorite downtown Toronto Jazz lounges. Smooth music, great service and the patrons are awesome! Theres a 2 week reservation time, so book well in advance. It's so worth it!
Highly Inappropriate behaviour towards women by management and staff, bordering on bullying and assault. Not a place I ever want to experience ever again. I regret giving them my business, even if only limited.
The reservoir lounge is a nifty little hot pocket of entertainment tucked away in the corner of Wellington and Church St. Upon entering this lovely establishment, I was soon engulfed with throwback tunes coming from a dimly lit stage in the middle of the establishment. The entertainment for the night was a local band and unfortunately, I did not get the chance to cavort or compliment them for a lovely night of jazz and throwback tunes! The food was mediocre; we ordered the charcuterie board and sliders paired with a lovely and light Côtes du Rhône from their surprisingly extensive wine list (this comes as a surprise as I did not believe such a place would carry a wine list; you will understand why if you ever decide to visit). There is a giant space right as you enter that can be put to much better use! Maybe disco nights can be a thing in the future for this amazing little bar/lounge. Hope to visit again sometime in the near future!
Good service, good jazz, good food. Can't recall our server's name (short, blonde, wore glasses), but she was friendly, professional and helpful. We enjoyed our evening here very much, would definitely return on our next trip.
Been here twice now. Great location and great staff. Go on a weekday for a less crowded space and a weekend for more of a dancing party to some great talent. Right now this is my go to place. Also I highly recommend the Rob Roy drink as it's delicious. Prices are average for Toronto. I will be back:)
This place was fantastic and packed. It was standing room only when we arrived. The staff are great, and the music oustanding. I found it difficult to reach the bar and washrooms due its packed nature. But the atmosphere outwieghed that fact and the mini dancefloor a blast.
