Usually good food, but not today - steak quesadillas - more rubbery fat than meat. I left 3 on the plate and the waiter said nothing. 3 out of 5 pieces.
No body wipes the table after 20 minutes. The attitude is as if they are some 5 star bartenders. Dont wanna name the person but I have more respect for my usual bartenders in toronto.
So we went here for the first time the other day. Let me start with service was amazing. Our waitress was wonderful and checked in on us and it was great. We ordered zucchini sticks. They were delicious but the portion was awful. For such a cheap veggie we were charged an insane amount… it was like 1$ per zucchini stick. My other complaint was it was sooooo hot in the restaurant. We were so hot that we couldn’t enjoy our food. We were dripping. It was humid and just completely uncomfortable. The waitress said that the building ac was not good. Even tho the food was ok I was not impressed by cost and atmosphere. I prolly won’t be back unfortunately.
Yummy fish and chips, but it was definitely more pricey than I remember it being in the past. Service was fast, and our waiter was very friendly and accommodating to our larger party.
Only negative comment I have it that the late night live music was so loud. We were trying to have a conversation and it was hard to hear each other.
Great local pub! Food was excellent; I had the steak & mushroom pub pie and it was delicious! Very flavourful and nice flaky crust! Came with a lovely side salad. The house dressing is creamy, which is my preference. The only downside was the parking lot. Lots of large potholes. Hope it gets fixed soon.
Food left a weird taste in my mouth for hours after, kind of like a fast food aftertaste. Poor waitresses were swept off their feet by the number of customers - we waited at least 45 minutes from finishing our food to paying the bill. It was very slow service, but the waitress was nice and refilled my drink plenty of times. Unfortunately both partner and I felt sick the evening of and the next morning after our meal. So not a great experience, but the ambiance of the pub is nice.
We were greeted and told we can sit anywhere we wanted, Then had to wait close to 15 mins for a waitress who had thought the other waitresses was looking after us Then our order was wrong, By the time we had finished our meal was over an hour, place wasn't to busy, very disappointed with the service there
A big shout out to the Oak and particularly Kyle who made a very special birthday evening for my dear friends. Kyle went above and beyond to help and to accommodate my requests to make the night special. Drinks were cold and delicious! Big love from Oklahoma
Loved the Lobster Tacos and Caesar salad, the server was fast and efficient, a great atmosphere. Would certainly recommend this amazing, fun-filled bar.
Thought service was slow, but I found my meal very good. Me and my family went for supper about a week ago and decided to sit outside. The restsurant had beautiful plants hanging and took a family picture. I ordered special of day and it was a club wrap with a potato soup. Best potato soup I've ever tasted so far and it's still on my mind.
I find the food has improved over the past months so has the service. The patio is large and has lots of sun exposure right into the evening. Good beer selection.
Horrible. I was there a few weeks ago and found what appeared to be a piece of cement or cast in my soup.
The soup got replaced but i overheard people saying that the kitchen manager had forced a cook to work with a broken arm and who was wearing a cast. Cant confirm but if true this place should be shut down immediately.
Great way to close out a busy work day. Always a perfect place for a quick pint. Can't forget about the wings. Classic or breaded, they don't disappoint.
Went there a Monday, it was quiet but only one waitress in the restaurant was not enough. Took forever to get our drinks and deserts throughout the evening. I assume the service is not always that bad.
Sally gives amazing customer service. Great ambiance, food, and timely service. Jamie Douglas, the musician that was playing, was fantastic. Great adherence to COVID protocols. Thank you!
I had the London Dip with fries it was very good and service was great. The table legs could use a good cleaning but the overall cleanliness was very good.
Great staff, friendly and welcoming - a really life safer whenever I out of groceries, place indoors is amazing, great atmosphere and sweet spot for a beer.
I gave it a 3 ordered a thai chicken mango wrap bit sure where the chicken was for the price was excepting alot thicker wrap than what I got. People were very friendly.
Great food and friendly atmosphere, waitress was excellent! They accidentally sent out fries and they promptly corrected it with onion rings (as I ordered) and some amazing house blend sauce to dip the fries in. Guiness on tap? Huge bonus for me as an easy coaster!
It was super loud, the service was slow and a bit rude, spilled beer on one of us and the flat bread was awful. Fish and chips were very good. And darts were free.
Its is a pub/bar that has lasted and outlasted all location in the east end. The simple comfortable, inviting location is a staple on the main strip of Orleans. The 2 decades of staff have been nothing but friendly, compassionate, competent, and just good people. It maybe small but I've never had better pub/bar/tavern memories ANYWHERE else. Support you local ROYAL OAK!
Old pub style, excellent service, large friendly bar separate from the dinning area. The kitchen stays open for snacks like awesome chicken wings, as long as the crowd remains until an hour before closing. Good variety of beer and liquor on tap. Bourbon only has Jack Daniels rather disappointing. But I do recommend The Royal Oak for an exciting fun filled night with friendly people, a good beer and good food.
The lady who was working the entire restaurant; very diligent, quick on the draw. Great food. Great selection of " BEERe'S. I'M From Cape Breton! Flet Like Home. I look forward to every time I visit our " Nation's Capital " The Royal Oak. ROCKS.
I don't recommend this place only due to that fact you can't use the washroom without a drug dealer asking you if you want to buy drugs.and extremely drunk people falling all over.yes food is great but I find this place is just unsafe
Super lively friendly waitress with the most genuine smile very attentive. Avoid pub fries and all is good. Party like atmosphere. Typical pub loud and fun.
Meal was great, had the London Dip and would definately get it again. Had an ok selection of beer but my issue with pubs today are the high prices for a place where the average joe could get food and drink for a decent price.
ROTTEN SALAD: I go to the Oak often, and always order the Warm goat cheese salad. It is normally very good, but this time it was completely rotten (chunks of slimy black spring mix). I am the type of person that picks around the gross stuff, but in this case there was more black moldy salad than not. I complained, only to receive another rotten salad, mixed with romaine. Needless to say, I spent $25+ on a salad, only to throw it away.one experience can ruin a restaurant for you. I will not be back.
Can't speak to the food or other arrived at the pub took a seat by the dart boards no one approached me in all of 15 minutes sitting here watch 2 guys playing darts simply WOW
It's a pub. You will eat pub fare and drink beer. You will be satisfied by your experience and return once again. Perhaps this time you will play darts. There will be more brown beer.
It's just a comfortable, unpretentious place with polite staff. I've never had an issue here. Breakfast is really good and hardly anyone knows it. I only wish they opened earlier for breakfast on weekends.
This place was pretty small and quaint and has live music on some occasions. The food isn't bad and selection of beer what you would expect from a pub. All in a not a bad place.
