Basically all their clothing belongs in the trash or should be priced below the $2 dollar mark. All items are severely worn, stained, in poor shape, smell bad, some have food and mold stains. Sporting goods are also in terrible shape and dirty as if they've been taken out of the dumpster. Perhaps, some of their glasswares are in decent condition, but still feel overpriced for what you get. A great place to avoid at all costs if you can.
Great staff and I appreciate SA's charitable work, but this branch needs to improve its donation dropoff system.
The exterior donation windows are permanently locked, the dropoff parking spots are often taken by people clearly not dropping off items, there's no staff assistance for carrying in multiple loads of donated items, and there's no clear system of telling folks coming in who are donating where they can place their items.
These barriers may motivate people to drop off their stuff down the street at the for-profit, dubiously charitable Value Village!
Great book selection. Great prices. Stores is a little chaotic but with the great selection and kind staff they do what needs to be done. I also make all my donations to this location. They always seem super thankful. Keep up the good work team!
Store looks impressive when walking by; they have a great display window. Inside the store is disappointing however. Very limited, small selection of clothes and household items. I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to visit this store.
Great place for cheap books: softcovers are $2, hardcovers are $4. I wish the books were sorted a bit better. A remarkable amount of glassware, organized by colour. Ties are absurdly overpriced, even compared to other Sally Ann’s locations.
The best thrift store in Toronto, also very warm and helpful staff. Shout out to Kingsley and Gloria who always go above and beyond.
You need to look for the treasures but I have found many authentic high end designer names here over the 12 years I have been shopping. Hermes, Gucci, etc. A lot of great stuff if you have an eye for it. Prices are fair especially compared to the value village.
Last time I checked there’s was an increase of 50 cents on the minimum wage in Ontario on October 1st. Meanwhile, the prices on many items in this store almost doubled within the past 6 months. I used to love this location, but it’s really weird to constantly see shrunken sweaters from Aritzia’s Mesozoic Era era for outrageous $12.99. This is supposed to be an affordable store for the community, am I wrong?
I absolutely love this place it's very clean, we'll managed and organized prices are very fair and the staff is friendly and helpful. They have a great variety of stuff from flat screen TV to brand new name brand running shoes. They have furniture and bedding, new beds, art work, jewellery I would recommend this store to everybody, especially if you're just starting out in your first apartment or if you've just got married. The Salvation Army is always out working in the community and there to help. They are in the courthouse handing out clothes to prisoners theyre not judgemental they are out on the streets handing out meals etc.they don't care what religion you are or where you're from. They are always trying to help the less fortunate they are a great bunch of people and the only religious based group I see who will help anyone no questions asked. I was brought up Catholic and we donated every Sunday, over the years we donated thousands of dollars and were expected to donate so we did like my parents before us and their parents before them. I never saw any of that money go back into the community or used to feed the homeless or clothe people or send someone to a program because they have an addiction. These are good people true blue and I am happy to shop here and have my money go to them. I'm not a religious person myself but if I was the Salvation Army would be my first choice. They are the only ones out there who take donations and actually do something about it and give back to the community so God bless you guys
I used to live up the street from here and I both donated and shopped at this Salvation Army store on a regular basis. The staff are wonderful people. The store has fabulous treasures. S. A.is not out to take advantage and sell items for the same price one can purchase them brand new. The prices are fair and the selection always fun!
The most unfriendly SA thrift store I’ve ever been to. They started rudely asking you to leave when it’s not closing time yet. It’s like 15 mins left and they started to turn off the light. The overweight short woman at the cashier shouted to their customers to ask them to leave when it’s not 8pm yet. So rude. I guess they want to get paid more than their hours and leave work early. But you could ask politely instead of being so rude.
I give two stars instead of one because the selections here seem to be larger than the other downtown location.
Well to begin with its far better then the location on Queen st West.
. Moving on from that, there is a really decent clothing selection here if you go at the right time on week days as there are less people about, staff are friendly for the most part and store is kept somewhat organized.
Overall, can't complain from the service I recieved and the products I have found there.
N contrast with other SA locations, the staff here are very nice. Recently the racks have been spread out a bit, so average sized people have a chance of fitting between them. I appreciate the fact that the change rooms aren't locked and there are cute little chairs in them. They play catchy music and I've found some good stuff here too!
I've gotten some amazing stuff here, it's all about timing at these places and when the timing is right, you can't believe what you come out of there with. You have to be careful not to make it a habit or your place will be overrun with stuff.
Well organized with many deals and hidden treasures.some items are a bit pricey for a thrift store, usually high end name brand items that are priced higher because of the brand. Otherwise great store!
The clothes there are in good condition and they are really cheaper than other stores! A Although It is a relatively small store, they have many things and they always have new clothing that you could interested. If you found something that you like, you have to buy at the moment because they sell it so fast. I always enjoy Shopping there!

Although I have found many good items here previously, todays experience has made me reconsider visiting ever again. I shopped and waited in line for 30 minutes to buy 3 books since there were multiple signs stating they were 77 cents each. After finally reaching the front of the line, I was told the sale was over as of yesterday. I understand working at this store is difficult, especially with the odd customers it attracts, but that is no excuse for not removing signage from yesterday. Maybe Salvation Army needs to offer better pay, incentive, or something to motivate the employees to due such basic retail activities.
Tiny store, hard to navigate when there are people. Decent selection of media. Small book section and it tends to get crowded. The staff seem to be doing their best keeping the store clean but there isn't a whole lot of space to work with.
Visited on a Saturday late afternoon over the 2019 Easter weekend and it was bustling with people. The place is cramped, so it feels uncomfortably overstocked and messy liked you walked into a hoarder's home. And for used items, the prices were otherwise expensive. I would not return here.
This store is renowned for throwing out at least half of all donations, such as clothing, books, musical instruments most of which are in good to great condition or can be (in the case of violins or other such instruments) easily repaired
id say half the time fresh donations are sent off to the recycling truck (usually in the morning)
the manager Kalpita sits on her butt doing next to nothing for half the day
except for pocketing jewellery which never makes it out to the customers or even to their once a month auctions
or argues with potential customers not to touch the big pile of donations at the back of the store which they now cover up with a big tarp and a barricade so curious customers cant paw through them
donate to the Value Village at 1319 Bloor Street West instead.you can always find cool used goods there in good shape
