Nice place if your into the out doors and not looking for a 5 star hotel camp. Wunita was a great host my whole family enjoyed it can't wait to go back.

Their cancellation policy is a lie, they will not reimburse you, and will not answer emails or phone calls even after months of trying. Scam alert!

Read the reviews on Google. They aren’t lying. The place had nice owners, but being nice is not all it takes to run a campsite of this volume. The constant partying until 4-5 am every night and lack of campsite boundaries mean that if someone decides to put their tent right next to yours, there’s nothing you can do except move. There aren’t even site numbers, literally it is a free for all. It’s just someone’s yard. Me and my wife were there for 4 days, and couldn’t sleep at all. We are exhausted and drained. We basically spent 300$ to stay wide awake in a tent next to some awful karaoke and heavy loud drinking from our neighbours on all sides for four nights. We went to visit the beaches in sandbanks but couldn’t even get a good value out of it cause we would just spend the whole day sleeping at the beach because we knew what nightmares were waiting for us back at the campsite. I really wouldn’t recommend. Again, polite and very lovely staff, just not enough involved in rule inforcement. The curfew is at 11pm. Not one night during our stay did people actually turn their music off before 3 am. And nobody from management ever even came to give a look. So if you’re looking for some quiet time camping, this is NOT the place for you. However, I do have to say that the location of this campground is amazing. It is close to everything. It is a little drive up to for example north beach, which was our favourite spot, but the drive there is so beautiful it’s worth it. I would chose another campsite the next time around however, for sure. It looks like it’s cheap, compared to other campgrounds, but I swear to god the extra few bucks at other campgrounds have to be worth it for a bit of peace.

Wouldn’t recommend to anyone who’s going to Sandbanks. Paid so much for 2 houses with very poor conditions. The fridge is not cool to keep food fresh, one of the houses had a window with glass broken (was not fixed; just had a plastic cover), we were not allowed to use the washrooms for number 2 purposes (we were told we would have to GO TO A PUBLIC WASHROOM), we had to bring our own garbage home (even though we put them in garbage bags and cleaned up after ourselves). There was also BED BUGS in one of the cottages. It’s not a good place to stay. Not thoroughly cleaned, maintained and check. We were travelling with little kids as well. Not safe, sanitary, and we got ripped off.

The location is nice to stay at, my only problem is beware of what cottage you choose to stay in. The cottage (cottage 6) that we stayed in looked very rundown both inside and outside. It had a very nasty smell when we first entered, there is no ac or fans provided so expect a hot night on the beds provided, which the bedding has not been swapped out.
Water is not drinkable, so bring lots of water before arriving here, the bathroom is not cleaned well and for the price you pay to stay, it's definitely not worth coming here.

We cleaned ours to the best we can to make it even livable for our time to stay, we enjoyed being at the location but the building is really not worth paying for. It's at the point where you might just grab a tent and sleep outside the cottage, it would be more cleaner and more cooler during a hot day.

Another problem would be neighbors, they can be loud at times during the day/night and walk around your cottage making you feel like there is no privacy between you and them during your stay.

If I can separate my rating, it would be:
4/5 stars for location
1/5 stars for the state of the cottage

I wish I had been more careful in reading the reviews before we planned and booked our much awaited weekend cottage getaway with Sandbanks cottages and campsites. Everything was a disaster here. Complete lack of honesty from the management. They should have been upfront in letting us know that the cottage was half renovated and then left in no better than a shack condition. Some of the pictures I posted would simply show what a rip off it was.the external walls just had dry wall with huge gaps for insects and reptiles to crawl in. The bulb that was removed was never replaced and the holder lies bare. If the bathroom flush would work is a 'hit and miss'
Nobody cares for the quiet hours. The campground is not maintained and all the management cares for is making money without being honest. Very very disappointed

Complete rip off stay away, we couldn't stay after seeing the state of the cabin, which aside from being in terrible conditions it was dirty! Place full of trash from previous guests, dirty linen, trash in bathrooms, etc.place is falling apart don't let the pictures deceive you, we had to drive back to the city to find a "decent"Place to stay. So gross, don't recommend.

Cottage médiocre et sale, mais vue incroyable sur le bord de l’eau! Les cottages sont délabrés / manque d’entretien. Odeur d’urine dans l’une des chambre et beaucoup d’insectes. Nous nous sommes grandement questionné sur la qualité des lits (punaise de lit?). La propriétaire ne nous a pas laissé de clé pour le cottage, donc securité moyenne… somme toute, séjour décevant au camping et vraiment trop cher pour ce que nous avions.

Annule tes vacances et rentre chez toi, si cet endroit est ta seule option …
très cher, endroit sale, poubelle partout personnel aucunement sympathique et voulait me charger pour le gaz du BBQ.en plus de nous faire voler notre bois de feu en pleine nuit.bord de leau degeulasse, une chance qu'il ya d'autre plages autour.

Great place for camping. Bathroom are open for people who don't have them in the camper. They do not require vaccine proof which is great! Finally can enjoy normal life!

Not your typical cottage & camping expectations but the place is comfy enough if you are not picky or expecting too much fancy stuff about cottages. Cottages looks worn out & a little bit dilapidated but inside looks just about right, feels like a country/cabin home-y feeling, a hide away from the hustle & bustle of city living.

Amenities are typical of a simple home, stove/range oven, microwave, fridge and some plates, cups & cutleries. Washrooms are clean and rooms are just the right size and looked well maintained. Some cottages are being reno/updated but much more stuff to do in terms of reno/upgrading.

Owner is very accommodating and the best part, not too nosy about your activities & affairs during your stay. Location is beside the East Lake and is near the Sandbanks Provincial Park if you want a real beach to hang & take a quick dip in the lake. East Lake is also a good spot to fish as there are typical fish species to be had. You can also bring your own marine transpo like motorboat, kayak, paddle boat & such, as the lake is typically calm all day except for some occasional gust of wind.

Not much lighting around the area during nighttime so its best to come with extra & long lasting light source if you plan to have a camp fire or party outside the cottage.

Nearest township is Picton to get some gas and other stuff like groceries and what not so make sure to bring all your necessities if you plan to stay a bit longer.

Fire wood is available but a little bit pricey same as with the BBQ rental so just bring your own BBQ equipment & firewood which can be purchased outside for lesser price.

Overall, the place is comfy enough to spend a weekend away from the hustle & noise of the city. Nights are quite & neighbouring cottages keeps their noise to a tolerable level as well as you can keeps yours too.
