The Smokin' Buddha

One of the best restaurants in Port Colborne, but I still think that their food needs a lot more flavour, considering that this is an Indian restaurant.

First time eating here. Our 44th wedding anniversary and we loved it! Excellant food, service (always with a smile), and atmosphere. Owner took time on busy Friday night to chat with us. We will definately be back and soon.

My family and I came here to eat, we ordered the peanut Thai on rice, butter chicken and a jerk chicken bowl. The jerk chicken bowl was absolutely awful, granted the chicken was good, spicy but good but the rice, the coleslaw was putrid. I don't think it's anything to do with the chef's themselves but I think the dish it's self was just disgusting, all three of us couldn't even eat it. The staff were nice and everything, didn't really do anything about the nasty dish that was ordered but other wise. It's good. Expensive though at 100+$

The food was, honestly, barely edible. I couldn't even finish my salad. Feels like they use some kind of canned thai sauce for everything, since tastes like what you can pick up at giant Tiger. Also looked up and see they are non compliant. Very disappointed.

Thanks to our server Kaitlin, she is very nice. The only good about the restaurant. The food is so so, expensive for the bland taste, serving size is small plus we waited 30 mins to 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Definitely not a great experience.

Went with some friends on their recommendation. They're first time was good, however their second and my first time were pretty lackluster.

Bloody bees EVERYWHERE, even in the "indoor" part with the opened garage door. That alone was a HUGE turn-off for me, and I was nearly ready to abandon my table.

The waitress was nice, but the food left a lot to be desired. I got Korean noodles, but the portion was pretty damn small for $20-$27, and I was still hungry afterwards.

My friends got butter chicken and curry, which on the menu states to comes "with rice or flatbread, " but the waitress never asked which they wanted and got rice by default. When they asked about flatbread to go with the meal, it's an extra $1. Im sorry, but it should be included especially at ~$20 per dish. Would be a pretty damn small dish without the rice.

One last thing, how is it that the food is already on the pricier side, and the non-alcoholic refills aren't even FREE! Nobody told us, and just kept bringing us refills.

TLDR, too many bees, and costs way too much for what you get. Unfortunately I will never be returning.

This food is phenomenal! Their peanut curry and tteokbokki are to die for! The staff were very friendly too, and even with all the heat the staff still had the best attitudes

Decided to try this place one Saturday night after hearing such great reviews about the food and seeing the restaurant featured on The Food Network’s “You Gotta Eat Here”. We didn’t make a reservation (which is definitely recommended), but we still felt welcome, regardless of how busy it was about to get. We showed up at a little after 5pm and were seated right away, even though we knew the staff could’ve easily just turned us away - as multiple reservations were coming for the 6pm area. The staff made sure we were comfortable with such little time and assured us our food would be prepared right away, so we wouldn’t feel too rushed. We’re grateful that the staff was so accommodating to us because the food definitely did not disappoint! The yellow chicken curry with jasmine rice was delicious and fairly spicy. Also the pad thai is one of the best around. We even had enough time to get dessert. We had the chocolate cake, which was a huge portion and came highly recommended (understandably so). The service, food and overall experience was excellent!

First time here and will be our last. The waitress was great and we got our food quickly but the portion was so small for $18. I understand that the price of food has gone up but we left still hungry. The food was also lacking in flavour. My husband had the Korean noodle bowl and he needed to add soya sauce. There was maybe 3 mouthfuls of noodles and hardly any meat. The place was very dirty. It has a garage door so there were a lot of bugs and bees. They have bikes hanging from the ceiling and they are covered in dust.

Great food and atmosphere will be going back. Staff was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Kinda place you wanna try something different each time, and the aroma from the kitchen is intoxicating

It was very busy on a Wednesday night. We had to wait for our table which was really not a big deal. We grabbed drinks from a bar along the water.
Food was excellent, I had the crab Rangoon dip and the loaded pad Thai. Flavour was good. The space is small and quite warm. Overall yummy food experience, I would come again.

Had a very good dinner, at The Smokin’ Buddha in Port Colborne on June 22nd. A wonderful time, good conversation, with Ladies Only group we meet once a month for dinner. Ilana, Lesley, Kelly, Ellen, Nancy and Dawn.

We had not been here before but, no doubt, it won’t be our last.

We loved that the restaurant is open to a very large welcoming patio with ample seating inside.

I ordered a Jerk Chicken Bowl: spicy jerk chicken served with Caribbean rice, mangoe coleslaw, crispy plantain chips. Whoa it was so delicious, I loved it! I’m definitely going to have that again.

I don’t remember what all the ladies had, but 2 had the, I think, bison burger which they said was very very delicious.

We all had different drinks and all were good.

It was very busy regardless, the service and attentiveness of our wait staff ladies was great.

Highly recommend. A definite must.

A gem, if you are headed this way or any west near this place is definitely worth a stop. Great service, tasty food, and reasonably priced!

I was really excited to try this place the dishes sounded super appealing. I arrived and the restaurant had a nice vibe, the outdoor patio and the seating were very nice.

We placed our orders and were happily waiting for our food. That is where it all went downhill. Food took an hour to arrive, which I was astounded at, as the dish was basic rice and chicken chopped up, should at no point take an hour to arrive to the table.

Our server literally came and took our order initially and then we didn't see her for about 45 minutes. We tried to flag her a few times and a few times she made direct eye contact but kept ignoring us and didn't come to the table. When she did finally come, she asked if I wanted another drink.

Most restaurants who keep you waiting an hour for a basic dish, would at the very least offer some sort of appetizer due to the long wait. Nope, just offered more alcohol and then told us our order should arrive shortly.

The food finally came and I was very underwhelmed. The chicken was overcooked and dry, there was no depth to the flavour, just soy sauce flavouring. I don't know if it's because I come from an area with diverse cuisine and I know better, but this wasn't it. I would probably not recommend at this point and was pretty disappointed.

Went for lunch with my grandparents. Ordered the chimichanga with a side salad. Came with salsa and sour cream on the side. Salsa was homemade, refreshing and delicious. Chimichanga was fantastic. Chicken was cooked perfectly. Service was awesome as well. Our waiter was attentive and kind, and knowledgeable of the menu. Would definitely go again and absolutely recommend the Chimichanga.

The patio was spacious as well, loved the vibe of the place.

(My grandpa got the Drunken Noodles with shrimp and really enjoyed it. My grandma got the Pad Thai and said the mild was very spicy, so keep that in mind if you’re ordering something here with spice.)

SO GOOD! This place is awesome! Food is great, service is amazing. So friendly, makes you feel so welcomed! Very impressed. Prices are good, serving size is perfect. So glad we stopped in on a mini road trip to Niagra.

I ordered the crab Rangoon appetizer and the Nasi Gooring with a Buddha lager to drink. I'm glad they added some new menu items since I've been here last. Tasty.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch while staying in the area for a weekend getaway. The food, service, and atmosphere was excellent all around! We sat outside, tried a craft beer and ordered a trio of appetizers to share. We had the mango salad with chicken, gyoza, and crab rangoon. All of the food was just perfect, fresh and tasty. As you can see by the last pic, we polished everything off. We will be back for sure, thank you!

There is plenty of choice, something for everyone. Wish I lived here. I would definitely be back. Great host. Keep up the good work. Please support the local community.

Really can't say enough good things. The food is outstanding! It was recommended that I try the pad thai, one of their best sellers- it was delicious! The Veganuary Steam Buns were delicious as an appetizer but would also work well as a main. Didn't plan for room for dessert on this trip, we'll attempt to do so on the next one. And there will most definitely be a next one. The staff is friendly and helpful and really seemed to be enjoying what they do. The atmosphere in an old train station is rather interesting. Seating is somewhat Limited.

We had a great lunch. Everything was really tasty. Our server Aubrey was terrific. She was such a friendly girl.
