The only people other than me who are allowed to touch my son (my son being my violin). They also offer fast, high quality rehairs, and will allow you to borrow a bow if you don't have your own. Their selection is incredible and the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to explain processes.

Took my mother’s childhood violin to The Sound Post so it could be restored. It was in bad condition. The gentleman I spoke with walked me through the restoration process and gave me an estimate. It took 3 months to complete the restoration and worth the wait. A young lady that works there agreed to play a beautiful piece and allow me to record her so I could send the video to my mother. So happy with the results and the care and love that was put into the restoration of this piece of my family’s history.

Appointment only but they took us in right away. Friendly and knowledgeable. Look forward to getting a new bridge installed on my daughter's violin.

Cute little store - very nice and helpful staff. Went in with a problem violin, worried I needed all the bow hair and strings replaced. They told me I just needed to clean it - and then proceeded to do so. Will go back.

This is such a lovely little place. By appointment only during Covid times, so we got one on one help with our rental violin. The "rent to own" concept is really quite nice too.

They were quite helpful and friendly. I am new to violin and went in to buy a bow and shoulder rest at this store on a recommendation. While I was in they looked over my instrument and made some adjustments for me as well as reduced the price of a higher quality bows as they were out of stock of their entry level models. It entire experience was very much appreciated and I will be returning there in the future.

They were recommended to me by an NAC orchestra violist and I wasn't disappointed. Apparently, THE place in Ottawa for all your stringed instrument needs for beginners and pros alike. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Strong COVID protocols. We had a lot of help with our violin rental for our 12 year old. They have a very affordable rent-to-own program for rentals. Recommend!

I only have experience with their violin rental, hence four stars. Great service. Violin was properly fit to my 5 year old. It was a nice instrument in very good condition. They have all sizes from 1/16 and up, which is great as the 1/10 is the perfect size (and not necessarily as easy to find). Definitely recommend going there if you have a young child looking to try viola, violin, or cello.

Place looks tiny and old brick house, but lots of choices for violins and cellos. Service is very impressive too. Highly recommended for rentals.

We took my father-in-law's old violin in to get a check-up and any repairs that might need done. While David was looking the violin over I could see the passion he has for these instruments. He was happy to share information about the violin and described in great detail on the repairs that were needed. We were given a quote to get the violin playable, and a quote to get the violin restored. We went with the restoration. I felt like David wanted to restore the old violin more than he wanted the pay-cheque at the end of it. We haven't even picked it up yet, I'll edit when we do. I know the violin's in good hands.
