Living in rural Ontario, I found it difficult to find a location to repair my vintage Cerwin Vega 15" woofer. While on the Cerwin Vega Canada web site I called the published service PH# and was surprised to find out it was The Speaker Shop's.
Frank detailed all of the shipping info and off it went.
After inspection I was informed that a re-foam was all that was required.
Pricing and return shipping were very reasonable.
The entire process took 6 weeks, however, the end result exceeded my expectations! Back to 1987 "new"!

Dreadful experience. Took a
$56 fee from me for assessing whether my tape deck could be repaired. A service that took all of 5 minutes. 8 months later and I still don't have my tape deck back. Such a scam.

This guy doesnt bother to follow up straight up disorganized lets busy walk away and walk out all day couldn't care less. Why audio people always so anti people.

I took my 10" Akai woofer to Frank today; it was making "grumbly" noises at certain frequencies.
Frank spent a while examining and testing it. The diagnosis was: "it's fine, the problem lies elsewhere in the system". He explained where the sources of the problem could be. No upselling or unnecessary repairs recommended. Total cost of his consultation? $ 0. Friendly, conscientious, honest.

Useless took a pair of speakers to get redone and they screwed them all up and made me loose a customer over it

Although I never purchased any products or services from Frank it was nice to have a brief consultation on the speaker problem I was having. I appreciate his honesty!

Got the new tweeter I needed for my speaker for a good price. The staff were super helpful and nice.

Don't bother there are other places to get repairs Frank the owner besides having a extremely limp handshake that speakes volumes is distracted, unable to quote on anything without being called over and over for like 6 weeks, poor customer service I mean poor very difficult person to deal with no real concept of a deal or or how to deal.a serious waste of time. Its Santon Audio for repairs on speakers and Ring audio for electronic repairs both local. To bad but my experience.

Frank and his crew have made all my experiences at The Speaker Shopper top notch.recall taking my fried jbl l300 into frank thought for sure it was toast.he detailed the work needing to be done and cost. Needless to say got it back sounding as good as new cost and times in service bang on
Years ago I used Ring once they had my SX1980 for ever when it went down again I found out they jerry rigged some of the wiring issue was bypassed not repaired

I was riding down an elevator one day and a guy was throwing out a pair of paradigm Titan v2 bookshelf speakers - I asked what was wrong with them, he said he wasn't sure but they didn't sound good. I took them off his hands as was looking for a pair of good hi Fi speakers, maybe they could be fixed. The woofers were indeed blown on both, tweeters fine though. Called the speaker shop, brought them in to get the woofers replaced. Work was done within a week, and not only were the woofers upgraded to a superior brand (discussed with me when I brought them in to get checked), the cost was cheaper than buying a pair of lesser quality bookshelfs new. And the sound? Phenomenal - not throwing that word around. Paired with my yamaha r-s202 amp and Onkyo C7030, my hifi system has never been better. Since then I've tested these speakers against Pioneers, Boston Acoustics, and Kefs at the same price as the repair and they don't compare. Long story short - the speaker shop knew what upgraded woofer would pair well with the titan v2 tweeters and the result is awesome. I would happily go back for any repairs in the future, and to anyone with some busted, but good quality speakers (with a good tweeter or well made cabinet), you can breathe a whole life into them with this place. 5 stars for the elevator guy who was throwing the titans in trash 5 stars for the speaker shop for blowing my repair out of the water.

Frank has a huge depth of knowledge of speaker and audio electronics, old and new. Best service anywhere!
Update: Recapped the crossovers on my vintage KEF 103.2s but one didn't work properly. Frank diagnosed the problem while I waited and sold me a replacement for the defective part. Awesome!

Perfect place to repair your equipment like speakers, amplifiers and others professional equipment and very helpful staff and service man

I first went to the Speaker Shop almost 30 years ago for the first time to have a Kef speaker repaired. Much to my surprise Frank had the replacement part in stock which was great. I was fully expecting for it to be ordered in. I've been in to the shop numerous times since over the years, most recently about a month ago to have a Paradigm studio 20 bookshelf unit checked. Upon inspection and testing Frank determined there was absolutely nothing wrong, with it. He suggested that I check several other things and it did in fact turn out to be another issue altogether which I dealt with.
While I was there I looked at his MaxFidelity MFA-PP235 which is his push-pull tube amp. It produces 35 watts per channel, which is fairly substantial for a tube amplifier. I'd looked at this unit before and finally decided to take the plunge. I've not had tube power for over forty years and I was due for an upgrade.
This is an amazing piece of technology and I cannot believe what it has done for the rest of my system.
At $1700 net, you'll never do better and the piece is a tank at almost 50 pounds.
For anyone looking to purchase an excellent piece of tube equipment at an astounding price, look no further! You'll not do better and you get Frank's amazing knowledge, expertise and honesty! An incredible assemblage if you ask me!

has a ton of knowledge on this stuff.

First time there and the guys were more interested in making sure that I had brought them the right part than taking it in and testing it so they could bill me. Class act!

They do good work but seem to be understaffed. I was never called back to advise if they completed the work and had to make a extra trip back to them when they returned my part to me broken.

Frank has a wealth of knowledge, easy to talk to and very honest in his principles. I'm getting some speakers repaired here and would highly recommend The Speaker Shop!

They have outstanding stuff they always busy if you can share your passion they will solve your problem while substitute for your items vintage speakers squakers tweeters crossover hard to find speakers most times available but prices are higher eventhough they are best in reconing voice coils

I cannot stress enough - this is where you go for fixing your speaker/sound systems or buy quality refurbished equipment. These people are your local experts and their prices are fair.

Fixed my speaker right there in the store with 5 minutes of soldering and knew how to repair my 40 year old receiver at a fair price.

A nice down to earth place with very knowledgable staff. A bit like the old school raiders of the lost arc vibe.
