Fabulous service. Warm, welcoming hosts. Take-out Indian food was delicious. Although a tad outdated, the room was very clean and spacious. No coffee or tea. 'Patio' door opens to wide green space with children 's play area. Great value for the price. We'll be back.

Pretty good bang for the buck. Corteous service at the front desk. The rooms are pretty spacious but a bit outdated. No stopper for the bathtub. TV was small but had lots of channels. The mattress was in decent condition. Located about 45 mins away from Tobermory. A bit of road noise but nothing crazy. Firepits and BBQs in the back was a novel touch, although I had no time to use them.

Was a cute little place, room #23 had a few issues Other then that was a nice stay. Can sit out back at the firepits which is Kool and close to downtown.

Good Location has Friendly Staff, and carry your own portable BBQ, room is clean, bathroom needs some maintenance.

Nice Little Motel In The Woods
My family and I stayed at this motel for 2 nights during our road trip visit to Central Ontario (Bruce Peninsula) in Aug 2022. Although a bit pricey we still found the accommodations quite spacious compared to other establishments. I liked the idea of having access to the back of the room to their cozy private garden area provided with a picnic & some fire pit for campfire (though we didn't use it). Breakfast was descent although they had limited selections (but no hot breakfast provided). One aspect that I appreciated from the owner was a request I made to print a voucher for me at no cost. It is most likely that I will consider staying here again should we visit the Bruce Peninsula in the near future.
PS: We inherited a defective door frame. On the 1st night we could not open the door from outside. Of course the owner came immediately to remedy the situation. However I suggest they should invest in having the whole door frame replaced. Other customers might not be as lucky.

We spend two nights at this motel. If you all are looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay in the area. This is the place to go.
We also had bonfire at night it was beautiful to spend time under the sky! Additionally drive to tobermary was approx. 45 minutes. & drive to Sauble beach 20 minutes approx. The motel owners are warm & welcoming!

The Spirit Rock Motel is a place for an ideal getaway, a home away from home, a place for comfort, a place to relax and a place to enjoy like no other! While Sauble Beach and other attractions are just a short drive away, the first attraction to visit Spirit Rock Motel is the kind hospitality of the soft spoken owner. We had a good time at our stay here in the clean rooms and fresh beds.
In fact we visit the place every year in summer.

Really loved the place, rooms are very clean. We were a 20 people group. The family rooms were big enough for a family with kids. And in the backyard kids can play around and do BBQ. The owner was very friendly and the indian food at their restaurant was really tasty. Overall we had a great experience. Thank you

My husband and I spent two nights here last weekend and we were amazed at the hospitality of the owners and staff. They went out of their way to accommodate us and see to our needs. They even provided us with ice cubes from their own fridge.
Kudos to a business that takes hospitality to the next level.

Stayed here 2 nights and almost felt like we were at home. The first place where my 4 year old loved to stay and did not fuss about going home to her bed at night. Very kind and hospitable owners and very very accommodating! The door opening into the backyard was so ideal for our little ones to run out and play just like at home.the campfire was one of the highlights! And so was the AMAZING veg and non veg thali we had for dinner that the owners make home! If we return to tobermory this is definitely going to be our place to stay again!

I had an unbelievable experience while our stay there!

After a 2 nights stay, we came back to Toronto and reached home and immediately received a phone call from there! The owner lady Mrs. Seema Dutta asked us if we have forgotten and left behind a Gold necklace jewellery in the room! That was the time we remembered that it was forgotten there! It was a 5000/- Dollar worth gold jewellery and their extremely honest housekeeping staff handed over it to the owner lady! We thanked her on phone the best way we could and drove down to the hotel again to collect it!

We have appreciated the hotel staff for their superb sincereity and honesty. As we know it's extremely rare now a days to see such tremendous endeavour of human behaviour and it really touched our hearts! Purely gem of a quality as a human and precisely one in a million kind of honesty

Altogether a family like feeling and utmost hospitality makes it a unique place to stay after which you will be carrying plenty of sweet Memories indeed.

Nice motel on the edge of town. My room was very clean including the bedding and towels. There are a couple of fire pits at the rear for guests to use and we spent our evening around the fire. There are also barbeques available for use. The owners are lovely people and very accommodating. My only regret is not eating at the cafe - it gets great reviews! This will be where I stay whenever I need a place in Wiarton.

Exactly as advertised. Simple, basic very clean motel with good breakfast.
A group of 6 women booked 3 rooms for 1 night as we were hiking the Bruce Trail in the area. The 2 queen beds in each room were comfortable and clean. The shower had good water pressure. The towels in great condition and fluffy.
We will return when we’re back to continue hiking in the area.

Horrible experience staying in an unsafe room. The door had clearly been previously broken open and we were left with a lock that was broken in half and dangling off the door and a doorframe that was sloppily nailed back together. When we complained to AirBnB the motel owners claimed that we created the damage. Do NOT stay here!

The owners are very accommodating and super nice people. Not up to date rooms but they were clean. We went for the weekend to snowmobile, so was a place to lay our heads.

Stayed two nights with friends. Very quiet and nice place. Owner is helpful too. There are lot to explore nearby. The only problem was, lot of plugs were not working in the room for lights and charging.

We stayed two nights in this cozy place, extremely friendly stuff members. Place is clean and quiet with BBQ, Fireplace and everything you need to feel home a way from home! Great location, with a lot things to do around. It felt like cottage vacation. I forgot my charger in the room, very same day got a phone call and it was shipped to me the next day! That is an amazing costumer service Thank you Richy we will recommend it to everyone!

We stayed here first time in the summer, we returned for the Thanksgiving weekend and we are looking forward to enjoy the cozy fire place in the winter.

The beds are comfortable, the rooms are nicely decorated and with access to the backyard equiped with picnic tables, bbq, a firepit and a small playground.

One of the best place to stay in Wiarton, ON. We really enjoyed our two night stay at this motel. The host of this motel was kind and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the freshly made vegetarian samosas. Wifi was a bit slow but had an overall great experience staying at this motel.

This is our second time to Spirit Lodge and we love going out with our friends and families to this place. It is very conveniently located close to Bruce and Tobermory as well as beaches. This is great spot for kids especially they can play in park and get together camp fire. There is also shared kitchenette for meals. We will be visiting again.

Awful rooms. Visibly dirty all over. Stained bedsheets. Door frame where lock hinges was broken. Absolutely overpriced. Do not pay more than $60 at most for a room here. Anything above that is a complete rip off.

Great place to stay! The rooms are much better than we expected when we booked the place. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a motel in the area.

Close to local fishing hotspots. Nice yard out back with fire pit and bbqs. Not fancy but great pllace to stay.

We didnt stay. We had booked two nights for the labour day long weekend but the place was an absolute and total dump! My husband's family has been on the bruce for over 100 years, but we could not stay with family because of covid. We came for a funeral and drove all the way back to oakville rather than stay at this place. The furniture is peeling and wobbly. Mold in the bath tub. Back door rusted and hard to open, but the straw that broke the camel's back was the thick layer of dust behind the tv and the lamps. Given the times (covid) we did not have confidence that this place was thoroughly cleaned to new health standards. If i can find the number to report this i will. Absolutely disgusting. Luckily I had booked directly with the motel so got my money back

Amazing place and location. Within proximity to any direction, whether you wanna visit Beaches like Sauble or Wasaga or if you wanna get soaked in blue Georgian Bay water at tobermory.

This place was an amazing stay for us as a group. Huge room with a shared kitchen and an amazing backyard with a small forest trail leading to a beautiful view of the nature. The owner was very helpful in providing us the logs for the bonfire. Having a barbecue and bonfire night was the best part of the stay at this place.

We stayed there for 2 nights and it was an amazing experience. They have a barbecue and bonfire for guests. You can sit and chill in the backyard under the stars. Near to market and have an mesmerizing view. Also, they have one common kitchen for guests with all appliances. Recommended to everyone for great stay in reasonable prices!

Clean and basic humble motel. Unfortunately the wifi was erratic at best. On the plus side, roomy shower in a jacuzzi tub.

Samosas were great! Two Curry dishes were fantastic! The Mango smoothe style drink was super! Proprietors are friendly and the cook is great! My new favourite restaurant in Wiarton!

It's a good place to stay. Food is great. The only reason I give it 4stars is cos the menu is very very tiny.rooms are good. Bed is Ok.

Absolutely loved this place. Specially the backyard and bbq area. So good and nice vibe. It was so good to book stay here. The host and her family were so nice to us. Will surely recommend to new people who are looking for stay, whether friends or family. I think it’s find a stay at Tobermory, will suggest this location as it’s just nearly 50 min drive to Tobermory.

What a gem of a restaurant. We came up for a weekend getaway and stumbled across this place. The food was some of the best Indian we’ve had- fresh and perfectly spiced. The mango lassis also had the perfect amount of cardamom to make them lovely. Absolutely add this to your places to stop- the rotating menu makes it all the more special.

A cozy tent experience featuring access to a bbq and communal fire pit. The tent fits a double bed, night stand, table and two chairs. Perfect for a quick getaway without the hassle of bringing all the camping gear. Accommodating hosts, and a decent cold continental breakfast of just muffins, cereal and coffee.

I'm "borrowing" Evelyn's account. We had lunch yesterday, the Aloo Tikki to start was awesome, meals were delicious, service was fun and good, milk fritters best ever! Complaint, something about vegetarian, they wouldn't give me chicken in my curry?:)

Very cozy and pet friendly. Room was clean and bed decent. Was a little expensive being a motel but considering the area and travel period, I cannot complain.

If you are looking for accommodations to satiate your incredibly low expectations, The Spirit Rock "Lodge" is the place for you. When I entered the main office, I was greeted by an energetic, young boy of about 10 who looked me up on the computer and then called his older teenage sister to check me in - the kids were quite friendly. A man who I'm assuming it's the children's father walked by and said hello and nothing more. I paid $134 and change and then received the key to the room my husband and I would be staying in as well as a brochure with the wifi information and proceeded to our room. While no pets are allowed, the eau du cat urine that greeted us with a fragrant blast as we opened our door announced that this policy may be relatively new. The bright green front and back doors were incredibly helpful in fanning out some of the odor given the only window in the room wouldn't open and didn't have a screen anyway.

Before we had fully cleared the room of the stench, mosquitos became attracted to the ceiling fan light, which had taken us nearly 5 minutes to turn on because the light pull had previously been snapped off. I proceeded to inspect the bed and based on what I found, I'm pretty sure the sheets had not been changed before we arrived. The pillow cases and sheets had all kinds of hair on them from various body parts - my husband said he hasn't seen that much hair since the Twisted Sister concert in 1985. There was also an unidentifiable green stain, and the weird sash at the end of the bed had stains all over it as well. Suffice it to say, we were thankful we had brought bedding for our next night's camping trip as we ended up sleeping on top of everything and using our own pillows. We thought the worst was over, until I went into the washroom and found the sink infested with tiny ants. My husband came in and squished them all or flushed them down the sink, but moments later, my Tim Horton's bag, which has been sitting on the dresser for no more than 5 minutes was totally infested with an army of dozens of ants. My breakfast had to be thrown out. After we got all of that somewhat under control I decided I would relax after our long day with a nice hot bath in the jetted tub. I ran the bath water and went to switch on the Jets only to find there was no switch. Just a cover where a switch used to be. After sharing my bath with several ants I decided to have tea but our room had no kettle.or tea.or coffee, only three plastic cups. I found out from the brochure there was a shared kettle down the way between two other rooms. I didn't feel comfortable going to wait for a kettle to boil in my towel and wet hair.there was no hair dryer in the room either. If all that wasn't enough, as the water was going down the drain, the smell of sewage filled the entire space, leaving us to turn off the lights (as not to attract more mosquitos) and open the doors again to clear this new fragrance. To say the least, we didn't take part in their complimentary cold breakfast and we were actually glad that upon returning the key no one asked us how our stay was. I think it would have been awkward and embarrassing for all.

Returning to the town where I spent much of my childhood I was looking for an enjoyable experience to share with my husband who's never been there; perhaps my expectations of a clean room were to high. On a positive note, our camping experience the following two nights were much more enjoyable and ironically enough, our tent was more comfortable and had fewer bugs and bad smells. The motel is in serious disrepair, the "cleaning" leaves much to be desired, and there aren't even the basic of amenities in the rooms. Who wants to leave their room to use a shared microwave or kettle in the middle of the night?

Definitely coming back! Wish I had booked a longer stay. The hosts were beyond kind and courteous. The room was clean and very comfortable. Even included earth friendly supplies. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Timcy the owner and cook is a very friendly lady. Nice fresh and tasty Indian dishes. All vegetarian and some vegan. We did not miss the meat. Very reasonable.

Great vegetarian Indian food in Wiarton. Not a large menu but enough choices for everyone. Clean facilities and friendly service. They are closed between 3pm and 5pm daily so you have to plan accordingly.

Great motel in Wiarton! Also a great little fishing tackle shop, you can get live bait (worms/minnows). They also sell fishing license. Close to Wiarton waterfront and 15 min to Sauble Beach.

Have been staying there for the past 5 years. Great rooms and breakfast in the morning is a nice touch. You can have a bonfire in the backyard. There is a shop on site that sells camping gear/ local artisan crafts and ice cream. Well-managed and clean.
