Food is good but not exceptional. Service is extremely slow.

Worst sushi I’ve had in my life. Ordered 90 dollars worth and threw it all in the garbage. Rice had no flavour and fish was clearly not fresh. Don’t waste your money or time going here.

I don't know how I haven't reviewed this place yet! My partner and I have been coming here for a few years. The service is always stellar! I absolutely love coming here. Their takoyaki is simply amazing!

This has been one of the best shushi in Windsor for over 15 years, and always the same in quality and Flavor.

My boyfriend and I order takeout from here at least once a month. We're never disappointed and they are super accommodating. Definitely one of the best sushi places I've tried in Windsor.

This is the best sushi in Windsor, ON. I have ordered from this location for 7 years. The staff is always so pleasant and the food is amazing. So consistent and so tasty! Order out or dine in anytime, hands down the best sushi in my opinion. Thank you.

Tried a roll today that was a huge disappointment. Menu has lot of options…but they’re not all good ones

Oh this was good. Really good. I think i can say that this was the best sushi i've tried in windsor in a while. We're kind of hesitant of the fishy smell (I understand the irony in ordering sushi.) so we ordered a Dynamite Roll, Fashion Roll, Veggie delight roll, super crunch roll, and shrimp lover roll. Asked for no Masago and No Tobiko

Everything tasted amazing - the veggies were fresh. The sushi came in a circular container, really cool presentation. The lady on the phone was very nice too.

Definitely going to come back again, already planned our next menu selections:)

I like this place for their variety but the last two times I orders it wasn’t even that good. Didn’t finish it. Felt rushed

I really appreciated the restaurant open in New Year. Thank you so much for your hard work! It is so nice that there are 2 bowls of soup alongside since I just ordered the sushi and sashimi boat for 2. Their sashimi is alright. The portion is smaller than I expect, though. But it’s ok. However, their rice is not right! You never make sushi or sushi roll with such bad variety. Not to mention the inside ingredients also tastes like leftover from last night. I have never had any shrimps as dry as theirs. Maybe they keep it for a week in the refrigerator before served?
I want to support local but my money should never be wasted.

I have been a loyal customer for years. Waited 2 hours for sushi this time and waited 1: 45 the time before, I was treated so rude and the lady is so tired and miserable. Extra hidden charges for a little side sauce that I have never been charged for before. Great sushi but customer service keeps getting worse and the lady working is becoming unbearable to deal with. I get it we are in tough times but either take a break or hire someone that knows how to treat customers better. Sorry for the bad review but I always leave that place with a negative experience. Sushi is really good though but they need to hire someone that smiles.

I visit this place frequently. I would love to give them 5 stars but I can’t because sometimes I feel like there fish isn’t the freshest but there service is great, prices are good and you currently get a 20% discount for COVID take out. I like there spicy salmon roll I tried there new tuna poke bowl. My advice make the dressing not sweet and the salad more authentic (maybe a seaweed salad mixture) but portion was great

I will never never order this restaurant again. The seafood is very bad. The rice is under cook. And i pay 51$ for this before tax? This is the worst Japanese restaurant in Windsor.

The lady was rude when came in, and she told us to come back in 30 minutes. We waited out in the cold. Finally got our food, it was WAY to spicy. Disgusting. I got horrible food poisoning. Never eating there again.

This place has gone downhill since it was sold a few years ago by the original owners. The rolls I had that contained anything tempura (fish tempura/super crunch/calamari dynamite/dynamite) were SO salty and hard as if the oil had not been changed for weeks or that the fish was left in there for way too long. There are better options for sushi in Windsor- especially for the price point.

I’ve been getting take out from this place for the last few months and it’s by far the best in Windsor! Very unique and delicious rolls at a very reasonable price! Sometimes they offer 20% if you pick up your order at the restaurant which is a nice added bonus.

I have been to possibly every sushi place in the city and I have decided long ago that California Sushi is the place to be.

In my opinion, california has the best sushi in Windsor; however, they could also add a good dipping sauce to go with the sushi which could make them more competitive with the Windsor sushi restaurants since many people seem to lean towards restaurants with a good dipping sauce. Definitely a great spot if you’re downtown.

Got take out from here and everything was great. Packaging was great, all of the rolls were delicious. The Sakura roll was really good. Supes good.

A High rating for this place is beyond rediculous the food is meh.and they take 2 hours to bring two rolls and a soup. The staff members are completely clueless, when you call to ask what's taking so long it's nothing but ummmms, huhs, I don't knows and like like like what i don't know.completely not worth paying for it waiting for this is based off multiple attempts of ordering

Food is delicious, fair priced, excellent presentation. Staff is quick and courteous. The best vegan roll in the city is their Yam Caterpillar.

Extremely nice staff. Very reasonable pricing, tiny and cozy spot for a sushi date night. Great options for all sorts of allergies. Food on point, tasted fresh.

Always come back here, some of the best sushi in Windsor. We usually get a sushi boat and always love it. I recommend to everyone looking for a new sushi place in Windsor!

Had the crabby shrimp and green dragon. It was ok, the crabby shrimp was kind of greasy and the roll was a little small. The server was polite and attentive.

Unpretentious atmosphere but authentic. I recommend this place.

Ordered through uber eats and no option to ask for extra sauce with a surcharge. Put in comments to add extra sauce, they would not add the extra sauce without charging me ONE DOLLAR, uber contacted me to call them and they said they cant give me the sauce because they have no way of charging me and I never had the option to pay for that online. If I'm ordering online and giving you business, you can add the extra sauce. Never ordering again

Don't know how they have such a high rating. They take 2 hours to bring you two rolls and the staff is not helpful or around ever. I've given this place over 3 chances and every time I'm waiting over an hour for two rolls that are dry and half of the time the avocado is not ripe so it's bitter and quite nasty to eat. Not impressed at all!

Absolutely amazing, food quality is perfect with staff being efficient and professional at all times. Love the atmosphere and its always a wonderful experience every time I go. Thank you for your hard work!

Everything in my order other than the spicy tuna roll was great but the tuna has definitely gone bad as the aroma was extremely fishy along with the taste being extremely fishy. The staff at the restaurant we're very nice and I loved my crispy California roll

One of my favourite sushi places to go in downtown Windsor. The taste of the sushi is always fresh, it’s rolled neatly and professionally, the staff are welcoming and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm.

Terrible experience!

Customers that got there after us got their food first and the waitress excused it as all the orders all came in at once and got mixed up, how disorganized. We waited and hour and a half for DRY sushi that tasted like it was ready for a while and the avocado in the sushi rolls were extremely under ripe and hard.

I would not recommend.

We love The Sushi California. Decent prices. Kind and attentive server. Excellent quality. Highly recommend the koroke as an appetizer. Great place for date night.

Lots of choices. Size of sushi is smaller but is very soft, and usually 8 pieces in each plate. Conveniently located in downtown, and accessible from the Windsor transit terminal and 1c bus stop on oullette, if someone wishes to know about that too. They have good customer service too. Ambience is quiet, serene, and they serve liquor too.

Sashimi wasn't that great when we went but they do a great job with the rolls and the nigri. Was reasonably priced as well

This place had a great selection of creative sushi rolls. Really enjoyed the food and the serving sizes were great. Only downside was the lukewarm tap water that was served. Still a great place to go!

Absolutely phenomenal. The fish was fresh, the service was flawless, and the speed from order-to-table was incredibly quick. Highly recommended for a lunch time stop or an evening out, as it's conveniently located in the downtown area.

It's like thai with a bit of modern fusion/flare. Surprise find as i went to pike place market and didn't realize everything shuts down for dinner. Walked to this place nearby and was pleasantly surprised. The food is delish, and they try to be creative with the service. Panage curry came in a coconut, with a cup of coconut juice.very interesting. Prices are high.so you are paying for what you get.but an enjoyable visit, and will likely visit again.

Hands down my favourite sushi restaurant in Windsor. Such a cute interior and amazing rolls. My favorite roll is Sakura. The takoyaki is really good as well.
