Attractive atmosphere. Poutine was over priced, didn't use real cheese churds rather grated mozzarella, lacked gravey. Frozen fries versus fresh cut. Have made better homemade poutine. Prices seem to be elevated for what you get. Staff was pleasant yet slow.

Stopped for lunch on a motorbike tour. Nicely decorated and clean. Had the local whitefish and chips and lots of coffee. It was good! I’ll be back for sure.

By far, the finest restaurant on the Bruce. Food is fantastic, service is wonderful. Staff are friendly and welcoming to all. Clean. I would recommend the calamari, cape curry, southern fried chicken sandwich, haddock, smoked brisket sandwich, Mediterranean platter.

Superb dining experience
at this restaurant. Turned ordinary ingredients into something truly special. The presentation was excellent in itself.

And let's not forget the coffee – it was a revelation. Rich and aromatic, it perfectly complemented the meal and left me wanting more. This restaurant is a gem, they turn ordinary dishes into extraordinary experiences.

During my recent visit to a restaurant, I was deeply disappointed and shocked by the unprofessional behavior of the staff, including the owner. I strongly advise against dining at this establishment.

While waiting for our food, the owner abruptly approached our group and started yelling at our friends, demanding that they leave immediately. This hostile treatment was completely unwarranted and created a distressing atmosphere.

To make matters worse, the owner made discriminatory remarks, revealing a clear bias. This kind of behavior has no place in any establishment and creates an uncomfortable environment for all customers.

Due to the disrespectful treatment, we decided to leave without eating. Shockingly, the owner even chastised us for trying to pay for an order that hadn't been prepared yet. The threat to involve the police only added to the distressing situation.

Encountering such unprofessionalism and lack of common courtesy from the staff and owner was disheartening. It is important for businesses to foster inclusivity and treat all customers with respect, regardless of their background.

I strongly recommend considering alternative dining options instead of this establishment, which falls short in prioritizing customer satisfaction and professional standards. I hope that the management takes prompt action to address these issues and ensures that no other customers have to endure such a disappointing experience.

The guy there literally was super racist. He treated our whole group really bad. The food was disgusting as well. I would not suggest this restaurant to anyone not because they were racist and stuff but the food wasn't really fresh and it taste horrible.

Definitely recommend this place. If you’re visiting Lion’s head then definitely come over here for dinner or lunch. We took a lunch over there and it’s worth it. They can also make customize according to your preferences. They also have vegetarian options. Food proportion was really good too.

We waited just under 2 hours for a burger and fries on a slow afternoon. We complained multiple times and then watched tables who came in 30 minutes after us get their food (also burgers and fries) before us. The manager was sitting watching the whole time, but never came over to speak to us or try to apologize, offer free appetizers, etc. This was easily the worst restaurant experience I have had in years, and in the end, the burger was dry, cold, and overcooked. Would leave no stars if I could.

This is the place to get fish and chips! Great location, limited parking but lots of roadside space. Enjoy a big hike at Lions Head and enjoy their fish and chips! Nice staff and cute restaurant. Must try.

I'd put zero stars here if I could. This is me as a former employee putting down my review of this horrible kitchen. Recently I was employed here as the Line Cook. Which was not what I originally thought I was hired for, the owner is a terrible person who treats his employees with disrespect. I worked for this individual for the last month running this kitchen under the assumption I was to be Kitchen Manager not a line cook. This Owner uses a microwave for the Barbouti Dish he serves for 30$, the entire dish is microwaved. He uses old produce that he forces his cooks to chop the rotten bits off of, the tomatoes, the lettuce, the onions, the peppers, even the cucumbers. He will force you to cut off rotten pieces and use the rest of the produce for salads, soups, burgers and so on. He does not respect his employees, he is forcing one of them to work for 9$ an hour for half their shifts, he cuts employees hours whenever he feels like it without talking to them first, his kitchen is really really dirty, under every counter there is rotten old food from months before because he refuses to pay to have it deep cleaned, the vents above the cooking stations haven't been cleaned since before the summer and so on. He refuses to hire more then one cook at a time expecting one cook to run four stations all so he can save money for himself. He refuses to purchase proper food orders from Flannigans instead he only orders it if it's cheap, meaning customers will get different lettuce and different fries and different pulled pork every other week. This employer has no standards for his treatment of employees or their wellbeing, he does not respect his BOH staff in any way, he will force them to work even if they are sick, if they ask for a day off he will find any way he can to make that employee upset and ruin their day off. This restaurant does not deserve customers as the owner does not know how to run a kitchen, run a dinning Hall, or run a business. Take it from someone who just quit working there today that the food is terrible, the service is terrible, and the owner is a cranky old racist man who could be heard making derogatory comments about brown customers. Have a good day y'all.

I love the taste kitchen! Their soup is amazing, and our server Mackenzie was wonderful! 100% recommend

This was our 3rd visit to this restaurant and by far the worst service we've had in a restaurant in a long time.
We waited over 35 minutes for 2 coffees, 2 samosas, 2 orders of mediocre french fries and a bland veggie burger. There were only 5 other people in the restaurant at the time and ALL had already been served.
We had to ask for cutlery. We were not offered side plates for the samosas. We were not offered refills for our coffees, (which I would have refused as it was one of the most bitter coffees I ever tasted). We had to ask for condiments, we had to ask for refills for our water.
Ridiculously poor service aside, the real insult was the COST!
There was absolutely NOTHING about the quality or quantity of our food that would justify that price!
We will not return to this restaurant.

Fish and chips are good but are pricey.
This one star is for the grumpy old man in the front who treated our group in a very bad manner.

Food portion was very good. We even ordered pan fried fish which was not in their menu however it was the most delicious meal I had in a long time. Super friendly staff and we had a great time there. Definitely 10 out of 10

Great little restaurant, cute dimly lit interior with shady picnic benches available outside on the main road and side of the building.

Came here for a little mid work-week lunch.

The Medeteranian platter is an excellent portion for the price and each item included tastes great!

The smoked brisket poutine was also EXCELLENT! Getting into the nitty gritty of the poutine: the fries were delicious, meat was incredibly tender. The gravy very rich which usually I prefer a lighter gravy but with the brisket was the perfect combination. There may have been a little bit too much gravy on the poutine as it overpowered the taste of the fries and many towards the bottom were starting to get fairly soggy. The portion is very large, could easily feed two which contributed to that factor as well as it took me longer to make it through the dish. The mozzarella cheese was tasty but unassuming, swapping it out for curds would bring it up to 9-9.5/10. Overall due to the shredded cheese and just a bit too much gravy I'd give it a 7.5/10. Still one of the best poutines I've tried, doubly so considering it's this far from the Quebec border

This place is awesome. I tried Gill’s Bobotie, South Africa's national dish, and it was amazing. My husband had Pad Thai with shrimp. He said it was the best he's had. I'm so glad we tried something new. The service was pretty good for how busy the kitchen staff were.

A cozy restaurant in a small town. Food is quiet good. I ordered pull pork panini with yam fries. Absolutely amazing, especially the fries. My other friends ordered other dishes, it tastes good but portion is a bit small for a brunch.

So rude and ignorant. We got there at 6: 15 and  waiting for someone to guid us to sit. Suddenly a woman came out of the kitchen with plates of food in her hand to serve the customers, she started to yell like she was in the middle of The street and said ; we don't serve anymore, no more food!
Seriously at 6 PM you have no food! And is this how you treat  a customer by yelling in front of every body?
WILL NEVER SPNED MONEY THERE.
There are so many great restaurants near by that place with great staff and food.

Flavours of different cuisines all in one place. As skeptical as we were when we came to dine here, my god did it taste delicious. One issue we had was that it took a really long time for the dishes to arrive, but despite the sleepiness and hunger, it somehow was worth it. I ordered the vegetarian Pad Thai which I wiped clean, and are really looking forward to another opportunity to visit again.

Great little restaurant by Lions Head National park. Food was delicious and service was very friendly and quick. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Ordered the poutine with pulled pork instead of brisket. Amazing, to say the least. Tasty Pulled Pork, great fries, and it's even topped off with some of the most delicious onion rings I have had! Hands down you HAVE TOO check this place out if you're in the area!

The chef is an amazing person to talk to. He is genuinely passionate in cooking. Delicious food was served very quickly after ordering. We had a very good time here and would certainly return.

Really great food, extremely friendly service. The one thing I'd note is if you're planning to come, really call ahead and make a reservation. Walk in seating will be very hit or miss for dinner but if you call even an hour before you may likely get a spot.

Food was okay.we had fish and chips and fish was overcooked with hard batter. The strangest thing was a "sharing" charge. My husband and I were driving so we shared a large beer. As well we shared 2 piece fish and chips as we are seniors and don't eat large meals/watch what we eat. When paying the bill we were told there is a "sharing" charge of $6.50. I have never heard of any establisment doing this. The bill still came to $50 with the tip so not like it was that small of a bill overall. Just beware!

The food is absolutely amazing. Best fries you'll ever have. The atmosphere is cute and inviting and the owner is the sweetest person! Highly recommend if you're staying in Lions Head.

Amazing food! The brisket platter and the Mediterranean platter were so good! There are a lot of options on the menu which would appeal to anyone!

We greatly enjoyed our lunch at at The Taste Kitchen! I had vegetable curry (added heat and samosas) and my husband had the Mediterranean plate. Geoff made sure I could handle the heat before he made it and Gill kept us laughing throughout our lunch. So happy to have met this wonderful couple and experienced their fantastic food. A must visit!

What a gem! Looking for quality, fresh, delicious food? THIS is the place. A warm atmosphere with live music on Saturday nights that enhances the already delicious variety of fantastic meals. You will not be disappointed.

Had a wonderful meal here early March. The haloumi salad and samosas were fantastic, as were our mains. I had a two piece Georgian fish and chips - very generous serving of fish! My partner had the brisket dip with sweet potato fries, all amazing. Very happy with the food and friendly service, highly recommend.

The best fish and chips I have ever had. Everything here tastes amazing. Would recommend everyone. We went there for two days during our trip.

It was a nice and delicious lunch! My boyfriend got a South African dish (bobotie) and I got a Mediterranean platter. These foods are mind blowing and they made our anniversary trip perfect:) We are thinking to come back with my boyfriend's fam once again
