The Tea Room

I'm writing this review because of my extreme disappointment with basic human empathy. We booked a 10 person reservation for our mom's birthday with full intention to come and enjoy this establishment. Unfortunately, we had a sudden, unexpected death in our immediate family. We called The Tea Room, explaining the situation and letting them know we won't be able to come. Not even expecting a refund, but management made it so difficult to come to a resolution. The simple thing to do would have been to offer us another time to come in - to reschedule. But they wouldn't do that, and wouldn't offer a refund either for our $700 bill. Eventually we did get it rescheduled, but by that time there was a bad taste in my mouth. I won't support this business again just because of the way they handled things. This was the last thing we needed while dealing with a sudden death in the family.

As for the food - not worth the price.

Extremely overpriced for what you get.most of it was dry and not edible however the servers are nice

I experienced a death in the family, a very close one and this establishment refused to give me a refund or reschedule in a realistic timeline. They are more concerned about cashing out then real work problems. Extremely sad I would never in my life give these people business.the manager was completely unwilling to understand my situation and had no compassion. Completely inhumane

I had a good experience when I went there in the past but I recently ordered to take out and was really upset with what we got. For the price I could have made this x 10. For $100 we got 8 little sandwich squares (no salmon), one scone and six small pieces of dessert two of which were sugar cookies. To dine in I get the price but to take out you’re better off making sandwiches at home and going to a bakery for some desserts.

My lovely maid of honor planned a portion of my bachelorette here. We were a group of 6 and went for a high tea experience. We were placed in a very very small in between room which seemed like a walkway so consistently guests and servers walked back and forth behind us causing quite a claustrophobic table. The food was good along with the tea however our server was very rude. Did not want to be there at all or build any sort of rapport with us even when we tried or inquired about the menu. Seemed annoyed when we anyone had a dietary restriction like we are able to control allergies and many more instances throughout the experience. Definitely wasn't appreciated. Parking also was awful and non-existent. Not worth the expense and not the high tea experience we were expecting.

Used to be amazing unfortunately most recently the experience was less than great.
Rushed and delayed seating even when you have a time limit associated with your reservation.

The scones which were typically fresh this time were heated in the microwave and served. We were seated by the kitchen and had a bird's eye view to the gentleman in the kitchen touch his hair and clothing while he was preparing orders.

Our server had no tact, as soon as we were seated is it together or a separate bill. Terrible etiquette, requested for extra cream for my scone. She goes that will be extra, no problem paying extra, there is a certain polite way of communicating.

It's sad to say, what was once my go to place for special occasions I will no longer go back to. The food used to be delicious not so much anymore. It definitely does not compare to High tea in the UK.

The Tea Room is an incredibly charming and quaint location for an afternoon tea in Mississauga. They have a wide selection of teas with a lot of caffeine-free options which is really great and hard to find at times! The food is all fresh and delicious, and everything feels homemade with love. It's not a large space so make sure to book ahead so you can snag a table and have a wonderful afternoon!

The tea service is lovely. We went for high tea as a group. The service was fast. The tea comes out pretty quickly. Everything was delicious.
I look forward to going back again soon.

I love The Tea Room! My daughter and I have been coming here for years. The food is always fresh, the staff and service is great and the ambiance is lovely. Can't wait to go back!

The service was very poor. The tea was overpriced. The food was bland/mediocre. I visited the tea room with a party size of 11 and we were told that the room which we reserved could only accommodate 10 people. Rather than politely assist us with another solution we were rudely told we could not be served unless someone left. They would not even allow 1 person to stand in the store at the front and wait for the rest of us because they said it would affect shoppers that come into the store (it was a rainy morning and no shoppers came into the store while we were there). We then asked the server to speak with the owner to try and see if anything else could be done, the owner was even more rude and spoke very loudly at us. In the end, we asked them if there was a table for 2 available so we could split our group. They reluctantly agreed to this. The lack of respect and customer service was a big turn off to the entire group. The server was then rushing us to order even though we still had plenty of time left. I’ve been to other HighTea places and I’m really shocked at the poor service here. This entire experience honestly made me not even want to stay and give them ANY business at all but because our group was already there we all agreed to brush it off and enjoy our time together regardless of the BAD SERVICE. But you can be sure that I will never go here again.

Absolutely horrified with the treatment my wife received. My wife who is Celiac was refused service for the Mother’s Day event. My wife tried to book for herself, my mother and my daughter. She was told that there is no gluten free offering, which my wife said was fine she would pay the full price and just have tea (price of approximately $70 per person btw). She was told that it looks bad for her establishment if she did not eat. When she objected she was then told they only accept reservations of 2 or 4 people. Poor form Tea Room, do better.

I love how quaint this place is, and the tea is so yummy.

We went there for our Valentine’s brunch date! Such a cute little place with homely food. Amazing staff and especially loved our experience with Helen. She was thoughtful and understood our requirements. Overall the setup and valentines day decor was also amazing. Tea and sandwiches were good too. Had a very pleasant experience on our date. The gift shop was also good and the collection of tea pots was exhaustive. The reservation process was also good, they called and made sure everything was good. They also have parking!

The scones were delicious, and so was the tea! The staff were very friendly, but the waiter assumed we wanted a second pot of tea with our double scone order, but did not mention the additional cost. We would've preferred to share a pot, as my wife and I ordered the same tea.
