Excellent food. Very home made. Carmela- the sweet lady at the counter is vegan, she is friendly and very pleasant. It’s so nice to know she knows Indian food and she also makes excellent chappatis (rotis) for you. It had ghee on it too. Aloo gobhi and Chana masala is excellent. I ordered large thali and it was excellent. I will be going back regularly. If you want food made with love and served with kindness then come here. Carmela gets ️️️️️! Price - excellent!
It’s so exciting to have a fully vegan Indian thali place in TO! Pretty good North-Indian food, though I think the portions for the mini thali could have been bigger for the price. It seemed to be more rice offered than anything else. However, I will definitely be back and will see how the full thali compares!
It’s best for takeout, as the spot is pretty small and looks like a fast-food joint.
I ordered the food on DoorDash. Taste I would rate 4/5, portion 1/5 freshness 4/5. All in all I paid a lot of money but was disappointed with the small portion.
It’s is very costly. Just a channa masala cost $10. Usually every restaurant gives with one naan or roti, but they just give one medium Chana masala at $10 and roti for $1.75. Every shop in Scarborough I went till now they give samosa max to max 0.75 cents and here it’s $1.50 plus tax. I went couple of restaurant as I work on field, every restaurant I go have this items and it’s charged around $11 to $12. And this restaurant charge me $19. Don’t visit the restaurant, it’s very costly with not proper good taste food.
Love this place! I wanted to look for Thali and this place happens to make vegetarian/vegan thali. It's 15$ for a regular thali and you get a dessert, rice, 2 roti, a vegetable side, and 3 different mains. It's still worth it even though they did raise their prices. Inflation guys, everyone has to survive. If you don't want to the regular thali, you can get the mini which is $13 and you get 2 mains and rice plus roti. The portions for both thali are still very reasonable so I recommend.
My favorite is what I think is a red kidney bean curry and the daal! I've come a few times and every time I visit, there's a new dish I haven't seen. I always have to ask what everything is. Honestly, I'm not vegetarian, but these dishes were absolutely delicious. It's so saucy and goes really well with the roti and rice. I like that the thali gives me variety so I feel like I'm having a mini buffet for takeout. Eat a little bit of this, and a little bit of that. No meat at all, but I was pretty much satisfied. As someone who is a regular meat eater, I appreciated this.
The establishment is very clean and the service is friendly even though it's counter food style. Definitely visit!
I got Uber eats because I was craving Rajma Chawal even tho the Rajma chawal were not too expensive I ended up paying for the delivery etc which is understandable. The rajma were not enough for the amount of chawal they gave. Not sure how much quantity they thought were suppose to be sufficient but why not give separate?
I never write reviews but Veggie Thali, made me to write one. Absolutely delicious food! I am in Toronto since past 2 year's, haven't tasted any food like this. I recommend this place to anyone who want to try an Indian Thali. I just love their Thali!
I gave it 5 star 6 yrs ago for good food and hygiene. Always enjoyed the food. They’ve made some changes to facility recently and guess what dine in is allowed but there is no station to wash hands. When I asked the lady at the counter where to wash hands she very rudely said not allowed. Dear owner, your customer is not ok to compromise on hygiene and a rude behavior is a total no no. Looks like change in management/ownership - pls put a board outside so that repeat customers don’t have the same expectations.
