Great food and service! I had the maki set lunch special and the taste and portion didn’t disappoint at all!

Food and service have always been their priority. Pleasantly greeted and attended to while waiting for the rest of the group. Food was fast, tasty, great temperature, and fresh.

The food here was very good and delicious. Thank you to all the chefs and cookers for all their hard work.

Arrived at 8: 30 with my husband and was told it was too late for teppanyaki. They close at 10. Please publish your hours for teppanyaki to avoid wasting people's time

I wanted to give it a try and we went hoping to try tepanyaki. When we got there it looks like you need reserveration for that. Did not find anywhere in the website that you needed reservations but it's fine. We sat in the other tables, waited for almost 15 mins for someone to acknowledge us and the waitresses were more busy trying to help the people from the tepanyaki. We looked around and there were like 4 other with customers and most of them didn't even have food yet. We left the place. So disappointed. There 4 people there and no one came to at least acknowledge us and tell us they will come back. They need to be more organized.

My wife and I popped in for a quick lunch. The sashimi was awesome and the sushi wasn't all rice like most places now. Great job, we'll be back

To date this is our most favorite place for sushi in the area. There is Teppanyaki as an option for some flair and an alternate menu for special occasions, and their signature house roll is served HOT! A must try!
Pro tip: Get the avocado salad as well, the dressing is unlike anything I've had in the best kinds of ways

The food is always great!
The bathrooms on the other hand are disgusting! I’ve been back many times and the bathrooms are always not up to standard. Toilet paper on floor, paper towel dispenser broken, walls and floor and everything dirty like it’s never been cleaned.
Please please please fix this!

Me and my boyfriend go here all the time. Amazingly delicious food (katsu don to die for) and the service is always wonderful.

Absolutely fantastic food and Chef. Thoroughly enjoyed the night. Food was excellent, presentation great and Chef went out of his way to please the diners. Highly recommend the cooking table experience.

I ordered the green dragon roll and dynamite roll. Both were good however I felt the dynamite roll was a bit too dry.

Great restaurant and vibe. The food over all was great. However, I felt rushed because the waiter was bringing the bill and card machine even before I have even finished my meal completely.

The best food around love the teppanyaki eating in front of the grill. Beautiful restaurant the service is always good and the food always fresh. I will always go back!

Have gone here a few times and is our local go-to for Japanese food. You won't be disappointed in both service and food quality. House spicy rice is a must try if you like savory rice.

This Places always seems to amaze me I have been here Four times and all the times I been here I love the performance and the care they take of there customers. The food I always love it and is always my go to for Teppanyaki food. I love just the steak and chicken combo and I love the sauces they have added for the steaks it make it that much better.

Nice atmosphere. Huge sized sushi and sashimi. Attentive service. Salad dressing was very good. Miso soup very delicious. Their teppanyaki is so much fun! Great group dinner idea with a cooking show.

First it is quite a pricey place to eat. They will take service charge too on your bill, and if you don't pay enough tip, the server literally comes at your table and ask for more tip. This happened to us as we paid less tip because our server took away our salad bowl when we were still working on it, he was so lost. Very disappointed with their hospitality. Else food is ok.

We were waiting for more than 10 minutes. No one attended us. AWORST SERVICE DO NOT GO…. Customers are not important for them. NEVER COMING BACK.

We went for a hibachi experience and it was good. The food was fresh and the employees were friendly. We tried shrimp chicken and salmon. The chicken was cooked perfectly. I'm giving 4 stars because I've been to a few other restaurants where the cook actively involves people on the table but I didn't see that.

Took my fiance here for her birthday this week, we had never tried teppanyaki before and a family member recommended The Villa. Very glad they did because we were both very happy with the excellent food and great service.

We had the dinner for two with 12 shrimp, lobster tail, steak, and chicken. Starters were miso soup and a green salad and the main was accompanied by a stir fried rice and mixed vegetables, all of which was fried up in front of us on the flattop by their amazing chef. Gave us a show with the onion volcano and some other fun fire tricks.

So much food we needed a to-go box, would definitely go again with a larger group. Absolutely recommend this place, check it out if you are in Whitby!

Excellent food. Good customer services. Quick service. Taste was good. A good place for families. Lots of parking available.

Went out for a nice night with my friends. Had dinner at the teppanyaki table, where you're sat with other people. The chef puts on a show while cooking. Your order consists of salad, soup, your main course cooked on the flattop and ice cream for dessert. We felt a little rushed just after dessert arrived as we were presented with the bill and had to pay.

The Villa speaks for it self. That’s right The villa will speak to you in a manner if you are worthy for such an Spiritual Environment! I’m sorry can’t leave out the proprietor, Melanie is Deep, and understanding in respect too one’s comfort needs, go figure now you are seeing what you are paying for, for change.

Located in Whitby, Westside Plaza. It is Japonese restaurant, with a variety of Japanese dishes, miso soup, salad and other dishes. We have deep fried calamari, combo A (5 California Rolls, Crab, Shrimp, Salmon and Tuna. Wasabi and ginger thin slices). Also Combo B (5 Rolls with different fish and other seavfood), 2 Tilapia Rolls, 2 Tuna Rolls and 2 Salmon Rolls). We enjoy our lunch.

One of my worst Hibachi grill experiences in a very long time.
The chef did not really interact much, did not even try to entertain us and the kids.
The waitress had this kind of attitude when talking and her tone was very rude. She is just lucky we did not ask to speak to the manager as he would have gotten a earful from us.
Prices are not reasonable, so while I don’t mind paying I expect service to be good and don’t need rude staff attending to me.
I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone based on my experience.

Absolutely disgusted in this restaurant. We had reservations booked for tonight (my moms birthday) for 2 weeks in advance. I made her repeat it back numerous times because I heard this place has a history of screwing up reservations. I was treated EXTREMELY poorly by HIEB. No apology, no resolution, just rude.

This is a hidden gem in Whitby. The value for money and the experience was fantastic. A must do if you're in Durham.

What a seriously awesome experience we had here with our kids. The chef was very engaging & did tons of gags & tricks that kept my kids entertained. The food was amazing, fresh & cooked to perfection. The service was amazing too - the server even made the kids child-friendly chopsticks, unprompted, when she saw them struggling with the regular chopsticks. Would absolutely recommend for both adults & kids alike! I’m still full hours later but wish I could eat that meal all over again.

My brother picked up a sushi tray and some butterfish and salmon on the side and everything was super delicious, high quality cuts of fish. He claims it's the best sushi place in Durham.

Ordered from here tonight for the first time and omg it was so delicious! My bf got a bunch of different sushi which he very much enjoyed. I had fried white meat udon noodles and we shared the beef wrapped asparagus and it was beyond tasty. The beef was my fave: thin and perfectly cooked, with no fatty bits, wrapped around fresh well cooked asparagus and covered in a heavenly sauce. I cannot wait to try other items from their menu.

Best sushi in Whitby. Fresh and reasonably priced for the area. We always get the dinner for two B and it’s plenty of food!

Rude customer service. The food is decent, but when a miatake happens they refuse to take resposibility in the rudest way possible.
