Incredible teachers and strong extracurriculars (DECA, FRC, band, debate).

However, there are virtually no windows connected to classrooms.

School is okay, majority of kids are introverts as well as waste yutes. It is pretty diverse and it is a good place to go for if you want to get into SHSM and gifted programs. Speaking from experience, there are really good teachers such as Mr. Sykes who unfortunately retired a while ago and he was the reason why I enjoyed playing ball during lunch and even after. There are better options out there but if you really like the gifted program, this will suit your needs. The only thing I dislike a lot about this school is how poorly renovated it is. Looks incomplete at the front especially the random blue tiles and whatever that is on the front. They do have a nice garden you can chill by in summer and the library as well is convenient. Gym CD tends to be dusty if you hoop, so take caution and you might wanna invest into good ball shoes if you are hooping indoors. Gym AB, pretty ugly and the floor should be wooden instead of ceramic tiles. The rims are fixed to steel backboards instead of glass boards. Lots of stuff that needs renovation but in terms of making friends, it is surprisingly easy depending on what type of person you are. Ik the majority of the kids are Asian but there’s totally nothing wrong with that as long as you have something in common as friends, then there’s no problem at all. Overall, the school is decent but there are better schools depending on your needs.

Hello Administration of The Bullylands sorry Woodlands School, please inform the measures you have taken to control bulling at and around the school premises especially the event happened in December 2022. Issuing an acknowledgement letter is not enough. The problem is serious which mandates hard solutions.

Please take serious action against those who bully irrespective of the reason before lives are lost. And offer counselling services to the victims and the culprits of course their parents too.

The woodlands school is a solid school. This review will comprise of 2 parts: Education and the Environment.

Education Pros:

- One of the best ranking schools in Ontario with a 95% OSSLT passing rank
- Has a variety of courses that you may not see in other schools.
- A LOT of fun clubs and even a tutoring classroom for Grades 7-12, where you can get volunteer hours working during lunch.
- Work is very organized.

Education Cons:

- Can’t think of anything bad about the education honestly, very good.

Experience Pros:

- You feel welcomed by the teachers, if you’re new the students won’t really mind, nor care.
- Students are often very friendly - there are more extroverted students than introverted, however they are mostly friendly.
- Cafeteria is big and has an area where you can buy food (poutine, ice cream, etc) - closed temporarily.
- There are 4 gyms.
- Outside, there’s a a massive track, basketball nets, a tennis court, and a plaza near the school.
- Elementary (7-8) classrooms are kept separate and there’s an entire “block” devoted to those students.
- Free weight room that is open every week.
- Teachers are nice and friendly, however there are some cocky and strict ones, like the music and french teachers.

Experience Cons:

- School feels like a maze of course.
- Atmosphere isn’t really good, it’s like one of those schools where if nobody’s inside and it’s at night there’s a weird eerie vibe, it was built in 1969.
- Adding on to that, there are no windows in ANY classrooms apart from some elementary ones and those technology classrooms.
- Still uses portables (although it’s rare, and reserved for less common classes)
- I’ve heard of students doing drugs (smoking, vaping, etc) near or in the forest, sometimes underage.
- Good diversity, but has more Asians than a typical school, I didn’t believe I would be saying this but this school needs more “white-Canadians”.

If I had to decide between studying in China or going to the Woodlands, it would be an amazingly difficult decision.

Teachers for the most part aren't great, everyone here is Asian (lacking diversity), and the building itself was probably built by the European settlers. There are literally no windows because the school plan was originally designed to be open-concept (the architect was probably heavily intoxicated during the creation of this plan). As you can probably imagine, it's a very depressing place.

The school however has some great clubs that are easy to join and be a part of, however like everything in life; disappointments are right around the corner. What I mean by this, is that you will never be the best; no matter what you do there's going to be someone better than you (except sports, this school is pretty bad at sports).

On the plus side, I would say that say that crimes are very low here (substance abuse is a whole other issue), and so you are more likely to become addicted to chess puzzles than Ecstasy (both will have detrimental effects on your life).

If you have any additional concerns or questions do not hesitate to ask and I promise to provide my honest opinion behind every answer.

PS: I forgot to add that the administration aren't the greatest

The Woodlands Secondary School is a mediocre establishment that makes Vietnamese schools look like Oxford. The only similarity between Woodlands and Vietnamese schools is the absurd amount of Asians. I mean this in a non-derogatory way, but the Woodlands Secondary School has too much diversity. I never thought I would say this, but the Woodlands needs more white people. You would think with the lack of white people, there wouldn't be a drug epidemic. This couldn't be more far from the truth. I'm offered edibles and oxycodone almost everyday. On the off day, I'm offered fentanyl and LSD by the most unsuspecting dealers (Asians).

Pretty good school, ranks high in the Fraser high school rankings. Only issue is it's a bit like a maze, will take time to get use to.

I went here in 2014-2016. At first people were hella mean because at the time I was the new kid. Then I found a friend but my friend’s friend accused me of trying to steal her boyfriend (which by the way is not my type). Then basically a year after I met this guy and dated him then two other girls stole him and this other one tried too. Then people were harrasing me on ask.fm. Not to mention you can really fall in the wrong crowd in this dumb place. I’m 20 in a few weeks and this school also ruined my childhood just like Iona Catholic Secondary.

The school pretty spicy. It’s like riding a bike, except the ground was on fire and the bike was on fire and everything was one fire because it was HELL!

One of the very best in North America for sure!
Excellent in every structure of its system. Proud to have graduated from there!

SUCH MEAN JANITORS
because they kicked me out of property for riding a motorbike and they are not allowed to smoke and they smoke in front of kids.
23 May 2018 21:14
This school is a hub for smokers and wannabe gangbangers. They do have enhanced program which is good but because of low income housing near by it is filled with teens of no values or future as it's also known as "weedlands" as someone mentioned earlier.

School building is in poor shape and because of low grants it's not maintained. Some teacher just want tour kids to fail because they put their ego forward more than their job.

Names of few bad teachers who's classes you should avoid.
Mr. Cox, Ms Midgetcosky, Ms Laurie and a few more.
