The WORKS Craft Burgers & Beer

Consistently get our take out orders wrong. Not once, but 5-6 times, but we stupidly keep going ordering. I don't think the staff are too concerned about this.

The food took 45 minutes to get, even though we were one of the last two groups here. When I finally got my order, I got a chicken breast patty instead of a beef one. Although I was a bit upset, the food tasted good. The fries were also decently cold as well.sadly. They gave me a free two-can-dine, which made up for some of it.

Yesterday my order came late cold and dry, it seemed like a leftover.shortage of staff didn’t enjoy it a bit- the cutlery came late, didn’t offer a drink refill - instead of being a nice peaceful lunch it was a struggle- and they serve salad with a flat black sheet underneath it by the time you add the sauce the paper become soggy and torn and trying not to eat paper with salads- the waiter gave me a discount for my order came late cold and not fresh, i was’t after the discount i was after having a nice Sunday afternoon with friends, and no one if my friends enjoyed as well.

This is the first time trying out the works with recommendations from friends and family. The food wasn't bad but I thought the spicy die cut fries were spicy but were not. Food took way too long to come over an hour and the place ŵasnt even busy imagine if the place was busy I would've waited 4 hours to get my food. The service is very slow and not alot of beer options. This is my first and last time I try the works.

Tried for the first time with a friend. Did not disappoint. Had the goat cheese burger, regular fries and sweet potato fries (with the aioli). Loved the pepsi served in a measuring cup

Bailey our waitress was amazing. One of the best i’ve come across at any restaurant. This place is lucky to have her. Big thank u to her for the excellent service and attention to details.

Will be back to try more stuff

We had dinner at The Works location in Oakville on Lakeshore downtown. Upon being seated we were told the wait would be 30 minutes for our food. We had two updates, first the food would be ready in 10 minutes, then later that it would be another 20 minutes. Finally the food arrived 1 hour and 20 minutes later. I asked the server if I could speak with the Manager and was told he would be there in a few minutes. He didn’t have the decency to come to our table. Horrible service and obviously the servers are instructed to lie to the customers regarding wait times. The server of course didn’t offer to compensate us for the wait time. Just a measly sorry as we were leaving. I will never attend another The Works place again.

Very slow service, we spent more than a hour waiting for the burgers, they made multiple mistakes with the order during that time, the food didn’t arrive at the same time due to those mistakes. My husband order a burger without cheese because he is alergic, but the one they delivered was with cheese, when he returned it, instead of doing a new one, they just remove the cheese from the previous one and obviously do a poor job and left some cheese inside. Horrible experience not worth the price

I went today with my wife for the first time to try the Works burger at the Oakville location. The experience was good and the food was good as well, but a bit heavy. I have only one concern about the quantity of staff, since we didn't see more than one server, which was too much for him to serve in the rush hour all these customers. Anyway was a great person and professional, and we felt happy to get service from him, especially with the several follow-ups that he did. Big Thank You EADEN

The food here is amazing, and one of the better Works locations in terms of quality/taste. However, the service is super slow. Took us about an hour to get our food, and we had tables around us get their food quicker even though we arrived much earlier.

Subpar service. Food took over an hour. Burgers were waay overcooked yet cold when they finally arrived. Frankly a waste of time and money.

Went for dinner on May 12. Waited 30 min for order to be placed. Then waited 90 min for food to arrive. Took 15 min to eat and then took 30 min to get server to give us the cheque. Never waited so long for two burgers in my life. Staff were always chatting at the back. Also, the burger patties were really overcooked (unsurprisingly).

Never usually have problems with the works but this location was terrible. Took about an hour to get our food, which is apparently “normal wait time”? That is unacceptable. By the time the food did arrive, I had lost my appetite and took most of it home. We had asked how long the food was coming, considering tables seated way after us were being served before us. To make matters worse, when we received the bill and the credit machine we were charged $10 more than what our bill had said. At first it was confusing as to why we were not promoted a tip option when paying, but we did not think anything of it. Next thing we know walking back to our car, we had paid an extra $10, which is about 15% of how much or initial bill was. We went back and our server seemed confused…. Saying that sometimes the machine skips over the tip. If that is truly an issue, the restuarant should look into that, because no customers want to pay more than they were supposed to, unless willingly. To be honest, we were not going to tip because of how poor the service was when dining. So finding out we were overcharged was the icing on the cake. If the server did actually intend to choose a tip for us without us knowing, shame on you. Regardless, much should be looked into that. I have never been to an eatery where the tip was chosen for me or skipped over in which I was charged a tip I did not select. Sounds pretty bad to me. I will never return again and I hope people take this as a warning, considering how many other previous reviews have been negative and mentioning the poor service.

We waited and waited for someone to serve us! It’s a lovely sunny day but these people really spoilt our mood. We finally had to leave and they could see us leaving! Perhaps it’s our fault. Is this place serving only white skin? !

Only 1 waiter serving the whole restaurant, no one bathers take our order until we gave up and left

I must say i miss licks burgers lol but the works does truly line right up with there outstanding tasty burgers…not a fan of the fries at all.

This was the first time I’ve been to a Works restaurant that has disappointed me. It look an hour to receive our 2 burgers and fries. When the food finally came, the Wagyu burgers were so over cooked and dry that it was a shame because what should be a premium burger patty, tasted like a literal hockey puck and was difficult to swallow. The server asked us if we wanted to send them back, but we were so starving by this point that we didn’t want to wait another hour to get our food. We saw two tables get up and leave out of frustration, and were told that they had a “new cook in the kitchen and it was her first night management chose to leave her alone”. What I don’t understand, is why any manager would determine this cook was capable of being left alone, when clearly she needed more training in how to handle food prep in a timely manner for 6 or less tables, and also needed better training on how to properly cook hamburgers. My sweet potato fries had been left in the fryer so long that they were black and charred, and the onion rings almost the same. The only positive to the night was our server, who really tried her best, as we felt terrible for the two servers since the customers were all taking their frustration out on them, when in fact the cook and management were definitely the ones at fault here. Sadly I don’t think we will be returning to this location. My partner and I have never left a poor restaurant review, in fact we are the type to only boast about good establishments in our reviews… but this one was REALLY bad. For $100 for 2 burgers, a Coke and 1 beer, one would expect a slightly better outcome.

Definitely never going back here. Firstly the place was boiling hot. I had to wait an hour or so FOR A SINGLE BURGER. Other people were being served before us and it left me very upset. To top it all off when we were leaving I payed by debit and was given no tip option so i just tapped. After i checked my bill and i somehow left the waitress a $10 tip? It’s almost as if she put it in herself but when confronting her she said “oh maybe you just accidentally clicked it” which is 100% a lie, i never even touched the machine. She is tipping herself and hoping people don’t notice which is absurd. The chefs are super slow and only know how to make onion rings it seems like. My food was pretty good but not worth the wait or money. Never go to this location ever. Staff are clearly all over the place and lost. 1 star.

Just recieved my delivery order and the burger was cold, beef patty was dry, no pickles or onions added as requested and no extra sweet and tangy sauce added to my burger. Chips are also cold and some are only half cooked.usually the works is great but not today. Truly disappointed after paying $33.90 for a burger and chips. Do better with your takeout orders.

Went on a Saturday evening for dinner (2 adults). Could get a table easily and we ordered onion rings for Appetizer. For the main we had taken Kamikaze and Nacho Libre. The only vegetarian patty option was Impossible. Chose the sesame multi grain bun and bottomless fresh cut fries. Tasted really good. The Kamikaze was very flavorful. Loved the dips that was given. The portion was large and could have preferred a takeaway, but we did finish our meal. The staffs were very friendly and warm and we totally enjoyed our evening.
We have also visited their branch in Niagara falls and enjoyed our time there as well.
