No company is perfect but this company is beyond terrible. It should be boycotted for many reasons. If you want your neighbours to hate you, this is the company you hire to do the worst job. They are rude. They leave behind garbage and damage other people’s property. They’re also not cooperative, or responsible and have no customer service. They also have no respect for other peoples property, and nature. They also cut corners and have punks working for them. Beware stay away!

I work closely with Cavanagh for the most part so I have never really had a problem at work but at home it's a nightmare. Not only is the car bottoming out on the driveway because they neglected to put enough stone between their new sidewalk and curb, they also mangled branches and left them hanging over a driveway and sidewalk low enough that it is in the way of pedestrians and the vehicle. They also left spray paint cans and trash on the lawns over the weekend so anyone could just nab them and destroy some property. Like I said, great to work beside, but as a homeowner I can't believe the poor quality their work space is after they have left.

This company took twice as long as expected to complete the paving. Moreover the quality of the Job was much below expectations. Their price was higher than a competitor, but they were engaged on the basis of their reputation. We would not use this company again.

Flatbed truck speeding 100 km from Almonte to Arnprior and 80 in a construction zone throughing stones broke my windshield and fog light. Called company they said they would pay for damages THAN RENEGED saying they never got such a call. "truly are you calling me a lier"? Very disappointed with a company that should stand behind their word.

Paved Bay Rd. Off of highway 15 7 yrs or so ago and left our driveway in a mess & also didn't level out the lawn. After seeing what there doing on the Rideau Ferry Rd thought it was time I complained.

Absolutely useless company. They take twice as long to do simple road work then any other company, they hold up traffic for 10 to 15 minutes each way then you pass the site and see the only people working are holding signs and the actual construction workers are just standing around doing nothing having a smoke. Worst thing I’ll ever see in my life while driving in Ottawa is a sign for cavanaugh site ahead.

Je demeure dans un nouveau projet de Minto à Orléans. Ils ont fait faire les entrées d’asphalte par cette entreprise (Thomas Cavanagh Construction). Moi et plusieurs de mes voisins ne sommes pas très content du résultat. L’installation de l’asphalte se fait très rapidement, avec de l’asphalte de mauvaise qualité, de grosse roche, ce qui laisse beaucoup de petit trous dans le pavé. Ils ont même laisser les résidus d’asphalte concassés devant les entrées dans la rue.

Had my driveway paved, I wasn’t home as I figured they should know what they are doing. Was I wrong, when I got the quote I asked they guy do you want to mark this so we have something do go on when I get the quote. He was like no no I got it. So I get the quote and tell them to go ahead. I come home after work and the driveway isn’t what we discussed or even close too. They were to make it wider and gave me the exact same as I had before. And I get you supposed to bring it up to grade but you would think they would give you 6 inches ov gravel on either side of the driveway. They didn’t! Sloppy sad job from a company you would expect more from. I recommend getting them to mark out what you agreed on before they pave, then make sure your home when they come because they will try and scam you out of what you discussed. Less driveway for same price. Sad. Then first winter a crack goes right across the driveway. And do you think you can get any warranty work, nope. They won’t return calls and look for any garbage excuse not to fix it. Pathetic!

Upon looking for information, I discovered (via Facebook) Thomas James Cavanagh passed away on December 5,2019. I'm sure the website is a temporary thing given the holidays and family responsibilities.
From what I understand, the company is still open.

Disrespectful company. They send fleets of dump trucks and tractor trailers up my road constantly, it is a residential area, they speed through here with no regard for the people who reside on this road. I am constantly calling them and asking them to ask their drivers to slow down. The lady she is a rude person, she does not care. Ministry of Transportation has been notified, and will be notified each time this happens.

Circle checks are required by law for d licence operators and companies running such fleets. Friday, labour day long weekend 2019 passing through Perth enroute to the cottage and a Thomas Cavanagh Construction ltd dump truck (no. 241, plate number AW 69168) spewing rock debris out the back takes out our windshield- look at the top rail in the photo- covered in rocks.no response from Cavanagh- no regard for the law either

2 years of construction outside in our residential neighborhood and when finally finished only paved half the street widthwise!
Worst construction company ever. Reason why they bid so low on contracts. Dont even do a semi decent job.

This company looks like it’s got too big for its boots and don’t really care about the safety of its roads and community. I had a huge rock hit my car tire after falling from one of their trucks on hwy 29 and after many emails and no reply finally got a very short abrupt email saying they are not responsible and it is an insurance job! Well I had my two kids in the car! It could have caused me to swerve and lose control and yet you don’t want to take any responsibility for your trucks! My brand new tire was blown out! You should be ashamed! I’m a single mom and it wasn’t worth the deductible I had to pay but looks like this is a common reoccurrence with your company! Shame on you!

They don’t make any attempt to secure their rocks on their trucks or to clean them off. Flying off at 100 km/h on the highway and chipping my windshield and hood of my car. SOOO DANGEROUS. And to top it off I called and absolutely nothing will be done from this. If I could give 0 starts I so would. Nothing against their work just their cleaning and how they deal with THEIR mistakes:)
