This is a really cute place. When we were in it was busy But the young girl working there was really pleasant and the food was very good

I love all of the food here but I do have a soft spot for their egg salad sandwich, comfort food at its best. The Nanaimo bars are addictive too.

Food is pretty good, but dear lord do not get the avocado toast, it’s wretched. Otherwise ur safe lol.

Waited 40 minutes for 2 sandwiches to be made, and it wasn’t that busy. Chips that came with sandwiches were overcooked and the little side order of potatoes were heated up in microwave. These were absolutely disgusting and couldn’t eat them. Waste of $3.50 I!
Guess it’ll be Tim Hortons next time which is too bad because I like supporting small businesses.

Fascinating little cafe. You seat yourself then order at the counter. Great concept, keeps things moving with limited staff. Coffee was tasty as was the caramel drizzle macchiato. Plenty of baked goods which I will sample late. A perfect compliment to the Thornbury downtown.

We had a great lunch. Service was excellent even though we showed up about 20 mins from close.

Located in Thornbury, the warm aura exudes old world charm.
Their pies and worth a try.

This cinnamon bun with cream cheese and a cup of hot chocolate are amazing! Highly recommended to try this delicious cinnamon bun with cream cheese. Would definitely come back for sure!

We go mainly for their desserts and they're all delicious. They do sell some of them frozen and I'd love to purchase more to take home but they're often sold out. They have great pies and butter tarts

Once a great bakery now is more a cafe. Stopped in for breakfast.basic bacon & eggs but my scrambled eggs were more like a poor omlet, got 2 strip of undecooked back and 2 burnt to a crisp.my rye toast arrive as brown bread warmed - not toasted and over buttered. All for $13 plys another $3.25 for a warm - not hot and fresh, coffee. Brought home chelsea loaf which is excellent though.

Our 2 eggsalad and 1 tuna sandwiches with a salad made with fresh ingredients and generous portions made it worth the 20 minute wait time.

Great sandwiches that are freshly made. The baked goods look very good also! This place always has a crowd.

Came for a day trip and found this delightful and delicious bakery. The Beet Salad was delicious and we had to end lunch with a yummy chocolate cupcake! 10/10!

Cute place, lots of selection of fresh baked goods and a full breakfast menu to go or dine in. My only criticism is the cinnamon buns were good but could be better.

Had the quiche. So so. Plus a sweet bun with candied fruit that had way too much spice. I would not return.

Coming out of the Loft Gallery, you’d be tempted by the coffee fragrance from the Thornbury Bakery Cafe. Definitely recommended to follow your nose where they serve all day breakfast and lunch with all kinds of coffee options and fresh bread and bakery.

Clientele includes both young and old, seems like the vibe attracts everyone alike.

We ordered a Chicken Avocado Sandwich, Red pepper soup, and a mocha. Everything was fresh and delicious.

Nice place to stop by and get a quick bite to eat. We hit the end of day sale (BOGO) so that was nice to get an extra muffin. The sausage roll was a bit disappointing though (just a regular sausage with some puff pastry).

Food was good, but the service.beyond disappointing. Slow, rude, inaccurate, and, well, basically no service. They take your money and your tip and theats the end of the service. Avoid unless you like wasting money and your time. 10-20mins apparently means 50mins. Not sure how that computes, no apology, no compensation, nothing.

My friends and I were recommended this place by a local as they have great coffee and food however the customer service at this establishment is lacking greatly. We all ordered sandwiches to-go, I placed my order for a vegetable panini at 2: 24pm and didn't get it until 3pm. All of us ordered a side of chips with our sandwiches but when our one friend got her sandwich (about 10 minutes before I got mine) and opened the container there were only 5 chips with her sandwich. We brought the order to the counter to show the staff as our other two friends had a much bigger portion, they ran out of chips which would take a long time to make so they offered us homefries or a side salad in place of that. Why they didn't come to us before to let us know that and offer us the substitutes before handing over the take-out container, I have no idea. Food was okay but overall a poor experience.

Always love this place, been going there for over 25 yrs. I do miss the apple bolssoms of olde.

We were out looking for a go to spot today for when we our out on our bikes which we travel thru Thornbury quit often. Tired of Tims. We stopped here, I had ordered a ham sandwich with sauce being honey mustard. Instead I received honey Dijon. Which is horrible! I was to kind to say something because I doubted myself that maybe I had ordered wrong. It took everything in me to eat even half the sandwich. I even had to take my napkin to try and remove some of it. My hubby assured me that I had asked for honey mustard, so I took the sandwich back to the counter. Read the menu and yes, I know I asked for honey mustard, being I remembered the butter option was right after it that I had asked for as well. I explained my horrible deal of having to eat it. They offered me another sandwich. Which I thought was awesome only to find it was only half a sandwich. I guess my choking down the first half of their mistake wasn't entitled to a full sandwich in good favor. 38 dollars later plus a tip, this will not be our go to stop.

Current owners took over the 120 year-old mecca 12 years ago, but it's still worth a special trip: my family have been visiting since 1963, when my immigrant parents first tried camping at Craigleith.
Classic Ontario breakfasts like cinnamon and Chelsea buns, but the house classic is surely The chop Suey bun. Pair this treat with an excellent cup of coffee, and punch yourself in the window for a while.
Cozy, welcoming, free Wi-Fi and splendid eats, this Thornbury jewel has managed to upstate without losing its soul!
