Visiting the 1000 Islands was a truly beautiful adventure suitable for all ages. The picturesque landscapes and serene waters make it a perfect destination for families. If you're traveling with younger children, I highly recommend the one hour boat trip. It's a fantastic way to explore the countless islands, enjoy the fresh air, and create lasting memories. The region's rich history and natural beauty provide a captivating experience for everyone.

THE INFORMATIVE REVIEW YOU'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR.
- free parking can be found directly in front of the bridge toll booth (10-15 spots) if you want to walk the bridge that crosses the St. Lawrence River. It looks like a border security booth, but isn't. Don't worry. The border crossing is AFTER the big tower attraction. You won't need your passport unless you pass the area after the tower.
- the pedestrian bridge walkway is safe, but narrow
- if you drive across the bridge, the toll fee is $4 ish
- the bike trail before the bridge toll booth does not lead to the bridge, so don't use this path - it won't take you where you want to go. You have to drive to the free parking lot and then walk 1 minute to the start of the bridge.
- the bridge walk is worth it. If it's you're first time in the area, definitly walk across. The sights are fantastic.
- directly on the other side of the bridge (still on the Canadian side of the border), check out the border store and get the fudge. Yummmmmm.

This is a beautiful bridge… I went on a boat ride back in 2019, and came across the beauty… there was a tour guide who was amazing and explained the pieces of history with such detail… would recommend this as a family vacation.worth the money and the memories

I visited the Ivy Lea bridge on Oct 8 2022. It was a lovely day with beautiful river views from the bridge and with the added interest of periegrine falcons overhead which were pointed out to me and my friends by bridge maintanance people. The attached photo is of one of the bridge painters - the bridge is continuously kept freshly painted a pretty spring green. The passing traffic was very noisy making it hard to have a conversation, but the shaking of the bridge gave the bridge visit a dynamic feel.
