I recently had dilivery from here. Quick dilivery. The food was good but not great. I really enjoyed the lamb ribs. Unfortunately, my wife and I both had food poisoning from the soup.
First, this place is basically across the street from the Registry Theatre and a short walk from the Centre in the Square. A great spot for dinner before a show.
The Greek salad is delicious, fresh ingredients and a nicely balanced dressing. The feta cheese is present in every bite and super creamy, not the firm, chewy type.
The pork souvlaki is nicely presented on the skewer and is a good portion. Greek potato’s are lemony and have a slightly crisp exterior with a soft fluffy inside. The rice is nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked.
The atmosphere is a little dark, but it makes for an intimate setting. It would also be suitable for groups or a meeting. They have a flaming cheese appetizer. I am told it is delicious and they literally light it on fire in the dining room. We saw it, but had already ordered. Besides, now we have a reason to go back!
Had a lack luster server, and tried ordering several drinks but we're out of mundane liquors for their advertised cocktails. Food was delicious but the server was the talk of the night, having a poor attitude and not very knowledgeable on what items the restaurant had in stock for the night and knew next to nothing about the meals we inquired about.
Another favorite to add to my list. KW is definitely not disappointing. We have some great hidden GEMS here and NY taste buds are happy to find them. My experience at Three Kretans was great. The staff was friendly. I was greeted upon arrival with a warm welcome as she pointed out the lunch menu and recommended their top meals. The atmosphere itself was a whole vibe. Nicely decorated with great music made me feel like I was in Greece. Even though I've never been to Greece lol. The only negative was the washroom was out of service and parking sucks. However, no points lost because they did have someone in servicing the washroom and apologized for the inconvenience. And parking I got a ticket that allowed me to not get a real ticket for parking in a reserved lot. The waitress explained if you come over lunch parking lots 7-14 is theirs to use for free with no concerns for getting a ticket and if the lot is full, she'll give a little ticket to put in your dashboard to avoid getting a ticket. I got one of those as I parked in #33.
The food. Let's get to the real reason why we are here. Honey! The food was banging! Soooo good. Fresh, authentic Greek food. Great portions and cooked to perfection. My chicken soulaki cost me a little under $20 which is almost the same price of my McChicken meal. But sooo much healthier and delicious, you can't even compare the two.
I highly recommend you trying this place. You and your taste buds will not be disappointed. 5 stars all around!
Two friends took me to Three Kretans for my birthday dinner. We all enjoyed our shared appetizers, main dishes, and deserts. The Humus with Pita bread was a great choice for 3 people, as was the Saganaki OPA! The Souvlaki dinners are served with a separate salad. If they were both on one plate, you would get an even better sense of the sizable portion that it is. Coffee and very high quality deserts rounded out a filling meal. We took home a couple of containers of leftovers (including an extra order of desert). Our server, Melanie, was very good in her role looking after us, and we enjoyed a few laughs together. If you like a place where you're not crowded next to other diners, this is the place for you. The tables are spread out over two levels, and it's all very comfortable. For this visit (our first) we give Three Kretans a full 10 out of 10. The photos, in order, are Humus, Saganaki, Cream of Broccoli, Greek Salad, Chicken Souvlaki, Moussaka, Tiramisu, and Bougatsa.
Definitely a must try when in Kitchener for Greek food. The atmosphere is amazing, and I love what they did to the decor of the place. It's in a basement so there aren't really any windows or natural light but they made it feel really cozy.
The food is outstanding, I've tried the moussaka, souvlaki and stifatho, and of them tasted amazing and as expected, the portion sizes are very good. Their meals tasted just like home. Highly recommend!
Ordered delivery, yummm! The best spanakopita, Greek salad and chicken soup I have ever tasted. The pita wasn't upto the mark. Will definitely be back in person.
One of the best dining experiences I've had in the area. The dishes are of excellent quality, freshness, and value. Staff is incredibly friendly and restaurant is both welcoming and clean. Wholesomely recommended. Thank you for your kindness, we hope to return to visit you soon!
When you are craving Greek this is your restaurant! Not only is the food absolutely taste, the staff is so wonderful! I have had Kathy serve me a few times, and I go back for her as well! She's always so friendly and always makes my experience nice! The portions are huge thanks to the amazing chef in the kitchen! He even came out to ask how my food was the last time I was there! If I could give ten starts I would!
The food is really good here. I really love the Greek saled and gyro dinner. The pita is amazing! Staff is super friendly and service was quick. I have ordered from here a few time and will always use them as my go to Greek restaurant.
We came here on a busy Saturday night in October and although we had to wait awhile to get our bill, the staff were outstanding. The food was very good, and the portion size was generous.
We had not been in since the change in ownership. We were not disappointed. The staff were attentive and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back and recommend it. Thank you
Hi I am writing this review concerning my waitress Kathy. While I was eating I could hear yelling while I was trying to enjoy my meal and it sounded like she was harassing her co workers. I think it is so unprofessional, everyone else there was very welcoming, except for her. Do better.
Ordered. Catering from Three Kretans for a bachelorette! The food was absolutely delicious, a great price point for the catering as well for the amount provided. I also had to call the morning of to modify the order and there were no issues which was amazing!
Everyone raved about the tzatziki, and it was an overall huge hit!
Service was very friendly and accommodating. Of the three diners we all felt the foods were overly salty, taking away from the expected flavors. Their tatziki was however very good. This is my first visit to this restaurant but I've known of it for probably 40 years, so maybe it hasn't always been this salty.
Tasty food and lovely staff - thanks Anastasia! Absolutely loved the atmosphere and there was enough parking. Would love more vegetarian mains but still really enjoyed the one I had. Thank you!
After making reservations for date night, we arrived on time and did not get our meal until 48 minutes after ordering it. Other people arrived, were seated and ordered before we were even greeted by serving staff. Apparently the single person working in the kitchen dropped our meals and they had to be remade.while others continued to be served. The menu this evening was condensed due to an event at The Center In The Square, so the kitchen wasn't even offering full service. This used to be one of favourite restaurants in KW and I was so disappointed tonight, that I'm not sure I would be return. There were no apologies, no discount on the bill and no level of empathy from the staff. Very disappointing experience.
Ordered takeout tonight and were vert impressed! Good sized portions loved the food and the deserts were AMAZING! Thank you for the great dinner at home. Put more accurate pictures on your online ordering apps because it was soooo much better then I was expecting!
Ordered for the first time and not disappointed! Not normally one for Greek. Each element was delicious on its own and flavors blended so well together. Will definitely be ordering again!
The experience was great, the servers were professional and respectful. Best Greek food we have had. Will definitely go back and recommend this place to all lookin for a Greek experience.
This was the first time I ordered from Kretan’s and I was not disappointed. Everything was delicious and authentic. The salad was crisp and fresh with a lovely dressing. The meal had very good portion sizes to the point I have some leftovers for lunch. (Gyro dinner) Will definitely be a repeat customer!
I ordered takeout from Three Kretans tonight. I haven't had Greek in a while so I was excited and I had never had them before. The food portions were laughably small for paying nearly $40. Im not even exaggerating that the rice portion was like, 2 tablespoons of rice and maybe one potato quartered. Very pathetic. It tasted good but when you pay that much for food, you hope to be satisfied. I've included a pic of my souvlaki "dinner" nothing had yet been eaten or touched. This is completely serious.
Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and fare. The food was well prepared and ample. The service was pleasant and attentive. There were few other clients, so it was also peaceful enough to hold a conversation.
Delicious takeout from a great restaurant. Our meal was thoughtfully packed and piping hot. The moussaka was creamy and tasty. The Three Kretans Pikilia was a great value with a variety of flavourful favourites. I was excited to try the baklava because it was made with walnuts instead of pistachio (allergy). Overall a wonderful meal. Can't wait to go back when we can dine in.
Amazing and authentic greek food that makes me feel like I'm back home (which is the *best* feeling during the pandemic!). If you're ever feeling down you need a bowl of their Augolemono soup. I just wish they were open later!
First time ordering takeout and we will definitely be back! Get the htipidi if you're looking for a really rich, really delicious starter. (Or if you just love your garlic, red pepper and feta.)
Decent food, but for the price I'd expect bigger portions and closer attention to detail. The pork souvlaki was well cooked, but the chicken souvlaki was overdone and VERY dry. The "Greek salad" tasted good, but was in no way a Greek salad (there were literally two thin shreds of cucumber, no tomato, no peppers, 2 olives, and a f*CK ton of lettuce. In what universe is that a Greek salad?) And again, I paid over 55 bucks for two people to eat, so I was hoping this would be much better. If I'd only paid like 14-15 bucks for my meal, I'd be happy enough with it. But for this much money they should (and easily could) do better.
By far the BEST GREEK and most authentic in Kitchener-Waterloo. We just ordered on Skip the Dishes and had our food within half an hour. The food was perfect and they even left us a nice note with our order. Definitely will be ordering from here again.
Should have taken pictures of the food but we couldn't wait to dig in lol.
Ordered online a couple weeks ago & still thinking about the souvlaki. The packaging was awesome! Food was delicious. Portions were awesome. Will definitely be visiting when COVID is over.
Ordered take out last night and I had to send praise. The food was delicious. I had the chicken souvlaki dinner and my husband had the three kretans pikilia dish. My 3 year old also enjoyed his chicken souvlaki and even asked for more - I had to share mine. Kudos to the chef. Will definitely be ordering from here again.
I got the veggie delight dinner, and even for takeout, it was soo, soo delicious! Please everyone, let’s support small gems like The Three Kretans, so we can enjoy them still for years after covid!
Oh My! Absolutely one of the reasons I love to visit family in the area. We normally dine-in, but lately have only been doing the take-out. This place does not disappoint! Always on point! The pork souvlaki is my favourite. Thank you for always being amazing and so consistent.
Three Kretans is my go-to place when am in the mood for yummy Greek food! My favourites are the chicken souvlaki, the lamb skewers and my husband loves the gyro here. The potatoes are always so well-seasoned, salad is super fresh and portion sizes are great too. Have always done takeout but would love to dine-in some time soon! Strongly recommended!
We are looking into moving to kitchener and found this gem! It’s family operated and they are very nice people. The food is absolutely delicious, must try Three Kretans!
Highly recommend! If you can't go to Greece, go to Three Kretans. These people are pros. The food is consistently fresh and full of flavour, and the service is super friendly and efficient. Whether you choose to dine-in or pick up, you're in for an excellent experience!
I went for the theatre menu. Good service and food, the only issue was not enough credit card machines when paying the bill and we were rushing out the door to the show. Thanks for a great dinner!
We popped in here for lunch recently after a visit with some family friends. We were all in a somber mood but needed to eat and weren't really wanting a fast food option. We called before we went as it was a holiday but they were open for biz and for a bit we were the only people in the whole place which soon changed and it was hopping!
Hifhly recommend this spot! The service there is always so friendly and the food is terrific. You can't ask for much more! Do yourself a favor and get The gyros in a pita. The. Best. Ever.
We went prior to a theatre show. It was great food and great service! It got a little slow near the end because everyone is leaving for the show around the same time so we had to wait for the POS. It wasn't terrible. 3 Kretans also provides free theatre parking if you ask for a pass. So we got a great meal for a reasonable price and didn't have to pay extra for parking. Would definitely go again!
A great place to go anytime, but especially on Theatre nights. It’s located less than a five minute walk from Centre In The Square. They have a special Theatre night menu which enables them to ensure that you leave the restaurant in plenty of time to get to the show. I tried the Chicken Souvlaki which came with plenty of food. Tender morsels of chicken, Greek potatoes and rice, and salad. All delicious. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely go back.
Great first experience here. Friends that were joining us were so impressed they made another on the spot reservation for a week later. Great quality and reasonably priced!
From the freezer to your table is the best way to describe the food.
Service was great but the food was not. I will single out the calamari because they were terrible compared to the moussaka and souvlaki which were just below average. The calamari was deep fried, tasteless and mushy. Normally when you complain about squid you say it’s “rubbery”. Perfect round rings from the freezer section that can be found at Costco. When you add the high price and dreary atmosphere there’s little reason to go back.
Ate there because you can get free parking for the theatre. My advice is to pay the $10 to park.
Absolutely amazing first experience here tonight! They were so friendly with me, even tho I didn't book a reservation, they were able to squeeze us in on a very busy concert night! They do offer free parking for the theatres which is barley a block away and saves a few bucks. Food, drinks and service was incredible! Perfect portions, fresh and not over priced. We had an appetizer, 3 drinks, 2 mains and dessert for under $75 with a generous tip. Will most definitely be back. Thank you for the amazing experience tonight!
Had dinner last Tuesday at this wonderful restaurant. We enjoyed the pre-show menu and the great food choices offered. Our waitress, Michelle did a super job of serving our table of eight. Knowledge able, willing to make suggestions & very helpful with the wine selection. Food was plentiful, well prepared & enjoyed by us all. Would recommend this restaurant without hesitation. Also, offers free parking a nice bonus.
Amazing prices and great taste. The lunch menu has a lot of variety but is very simple. The Greek bruschetta was so good! I expected the spanakopita to be bigger and be served with tzatziki but the taste is quite good.
You know a smokehouse restaurant is exactly that when you park the car and all you smell is the meat being smoked and cooked. All the meat was so tender and soft and those were some of the biggest ribs I've ever come across in my whole life! We ended up ordering the 3 meats plus 2 sides each that way we could try all the meats and different sides
While driving back from Elora, we wanted to stop off at a cute place to grab a drink and relax. Googling, we came across this place with pretty good reviews so we decided to try it. We only came here for the drinks, so obviously can't comment on the food. We ordered one of their weekend special drink
The best gyro I've ever had! Fresh pita, perfectly seasoned meat. Nice atmosphere, fast & friendly service, very affordable prices. The definition of a hidden gem!
Visited recently with the family. Delicious food and great service! I had the lamb souvlaki which was really great! All 5 of us enjoyed our meal immensely! We started with Spankopita and Greek bruschetta - yummy! Recommend!
Wonderful family owned restaurant! You’re always guaranteed a great meal. The staff is super friendly (the girls really hustle!) - absolutely love when we get Michelle for a server!
I am not Greek, but I visited Greece and I like Greek food and atmosphere. Limited selection of food and drinks. Even though, the food is mediocre, most likely taken from freezer to microwave. Party of 5, appetisers, mains, desserts and wine. In terms of food, we ordered pretty much all it was in the menu. No one was really happy with what was in the plates. Overall cleanness and comfort leaves much to be desired. Men's washroom is not only dated and cramped. It is literally dirty and smelly. One aspect we liked was the service, which was really good. Also there is free parking available for customers Highly overrated. I will never get back again under this ownership. Visited 121518
