Timmins and District Hospital

Worst hospital ever. Drove 3 hours with a diagnosed fractured hand after it was crushed in a work accident. Got to the fracture clinic only to have the Dr laugh and tell me he sees the fracture but think my hand is soar from Arthritis. I explained I've never hand any hand pain before. He insisted he knows while laughing. I was devastated, my hand is crippled cant even move it and he's laughing at me and offered no treatment but a brace that I could not afford to purchase. If you get hurt, especially at work I recommend going to Toronto and seeing a better Dr. This one could cost you your WSIB claim or worse.

The maintenance guy who drives the tractor damn near hit me with it while I was walking across the street. It was as if he was trying to intimidate me off the road.

I went in and reported it, but nothing was done. Why you ask? I'm being told by several TDH employees that his wife is a manager at the hospital. Many complaints have been made, including how aggressive he can be with the tractor and other equipment, but nothing sticks. How this isn't considered a conflict of interest, and how it has continued to go on is beyond me. What an absolute embarrassment and disgrace. He is going to hurt someone one day.

You go in for mental health leave even worse so I said screw this place went to Sudbury mental health department and wow night and day difference

These northern Hospitals Need To Be Inspected and brought up to modern standards. Some problems here but still better then Chapleau hospital never go there, specially if you have a child, at least until they upgrade stuff, this hospital is not so bad just has the north problems.

Was told on Tuesday in Englehart I had kidney stones. Dr Lang graciously agreed to laser them the next day. Well that didn’t happen. I waited for 31 hours due to unforeseen circumstances. Operating room was. Extremely busy. I was in horrible pain, scared and was very emotional at times. The nurses in day surgery and the surgical floor were absolutely brilliant. They checked on me constantly and listened to my needs and concerns. They went above and beyond. Surgery happened. Great Doctors and nurses. Sent me back to surgical floor and had me out in no time. I must, again, mention the incredible nurses who took care of me. 5 stars! You all made a hard situation much more bearable! Thank you and God Bless you all!

Long waits, they'll claim shortage of staff but we see them nurses hanging out at the desk in back also hear em chatting.many empty beds in back why? I'm sure someone has the answers not me!

Apparently having an alternative appearance warrants a Dr.to abrasively question patients on whether they are heroine users or alcoholics?

Not my experience, my partners, but I have had similar interactions in Emerg.as well as several other people I know.

Perhaps your inexpert staff needs a few rounds of sensitivity training.

It's a hospital, no one likes being here. But the staff has been great and everything is clean and organized.

MHU was a traumatic experience. I get nightmares about it. Nurses never checked on us (even if we were crying loudly, screaming, having a coughing fit), gossiped loudly, hid in the lunchroom during the later hours. On my first day I watched a patient be locked in a room the same day they were meant to be let go. Patients must take turns to be seen (obviously) but after asking to go home I was made to stay an extra 3-4 days where I was "not allowed" to see a doctor. Question, how do I get help from a hospital if no doctor will see me? Ended up being sent home with no help and felt worse after. Took me a long time to adjust back even though I was only there for 9ish days. The worst part is I went here willingly hoping to get help, and I got the complete opposite.

Not to mention I knew another patient who also said they felt they weren't getting help here and wanted to go home, and in response, the doctor said they wouldn't be allowed to leave their tiny little room for a day. That's no TV, no talking to their friends, no entertainment. How does this solve the problem?

I was rush to emergency, found out my gall Bladder needed to be removed as soon as possible. The nurses and staff on the surgical ward were great. Took care of my needs while I waited for things to stabilize. Four days later the doctor operated and removed my gall bladder. Operated at one pm went home by six pm. I would like to thank the staff that took care of me during this time, well done. We are very lucky to have these professionals in our community.

Clean, good spacing. Could do without the staff sneaking around smoking where they shouldn't, (on the sidewalk by emergency entrance) especially 15 minutes before shift change

Useless they don't even check on patients. The feed diabetic stuff they shouldn't have. Patients have coughing fits and they don't even check on them.

Such a horrible place, I've been sitting here for 2 hours with my throat half closed and the nurses are more concerned about gossip the the patients

My father in law went as he wasn't feeling well 2 weeks later he passed away, never transferred to a better hospital like they said. Dr told one of my brothers hope he makes the right decision! Keep bringing up pulling the plug. He went in for a touch of pneumonia and in 24 hrs they had him incubated. (he had no previous problems) I went there recently for a simple problem and came out with a broken nose! Worst hospital ever!

Absolutely disgusting Hospital. How dare you abuse patients and put hands on them. Leaving bruises on elderly people and not helping them when they need help. I only hope you never get sick and end up in the same position. Shame on you. Reports will be filed.

Horrible mhu. They torture most of the patients and let the other patients torture eachother. When we want to call rights (even when on the proper forms) they don’t provide the number and tell us to stop asking or they’ll sedate us. Every single person I’ve talked to in ward has had a horrible experience with the nurses. Nurses loudly gossip and laugh at the patients conditions. When I told them I was going to complain they threatened to call the cops and charge me.

I went to this hospital in 2004, for a MRI, and it was ok. I am still on my epilepsy pills now I have Parkinsons now, the last time, I went up there for a 8am appointment, it was a white out on the road, we had to go slow,

I'm sitting in a room as we speak having a asthma attack and they don't seem to care.been 2 and a half hrs. I would get faster service if I were to fall unconscious at home then get taken away by ambulance

My kid went to the hospital after being deadly sick for two weeks, and all they gave her was a puffer, they were literally dying on the floor and all they could do is a puffer. I for one think we need better doctors in timmins

I would like to thank all of the Nurses on the surgical ward, Dr. Mahmoudi, the surgical nurses and the anesthesiologist. I have never been treated so well, with such kindness and like I was part of their family. I really appreciate it! Lisa Buck

This is BY FAR the worst hospital I have ever been to. I came here a week ago early in the morning so that I wouldn't have to wait, I was 1 out of 2 other people there, and it took me 1 hour to even get to the back. Once I was taken to the back, I was sitting on a cot for another 30 minutes while I watched and listened to the nurses talk and gossip. Absolutely unprofessional and ridiculous. And on TOP of that, I was practically rushed out. There's no good reason as to why the wait was so long when there was literally almost NO ONE else in emerge. If you can, go to another hospital.

They have always helped me with injuries and recovery, excellent doctors and nurses. I wish that they offered more mental health services.however they are doing their best!

I ended up at emergency for a personal problem, the staff was awesome right from the entry door nurse, then quickly over to admitting and as I was about to sit down the triage nurse called me in, fantastic is all I’ve got to say, had to give a sample and bing bang boom they call my name and a doctor greets me at the desk to bring me into a private room. I never did get any of their names which is a shame cos I’d like to do a shout out to them all, so grateful for the private room, the doctor (a real cutie pie) and nurse we’re absolutely lovely, we have a diagnosis and the doctor shows me the way out, he took his time with me, explained everything and was just soooooo nice, what a treat it was to be seen so quickly with a couple of laughs exchanged.keep up the good work, one very satisfied patient! It was so quick my parking pass never tallied up a dime, now that’s service!

I wish I could give them a zero star review. This hospital is the worst I’ve ever seen, worst care I’ve received and absolutely the last place I would want to be if I was in need of serious life saving care.

They told my daughter that they hope its a misscarie becasue she dosnt deserve to have a baby who says that to someone

I shared an experience with a friend in that hospital gorgeous so when he started to talk about his human skills compromised on 50/50 I said firmly better offf correct me spelling because I am from there above

We've had only positive experiences here. They do the best they can with the resources available.

Waited 6 hours with a spinnial injury and no one cared people with a runny noise got in before me terrible place. Next time I’m driving 3 hours to chapleau

After about a year of service with Dr Thomas Obinwa. It has been extremely terrible diagnosis and outdated information. I strongly recommend seeing doctors out of town for professionalism.

I come and visit here time to time, the staff are very helpful with directions. The hospital is overall good.

Been here for 5 hours was told 3 hours ago it wont be long.still waiting in emerg. This place is ridiculous, would have saved time going to sudbury, could have waited less time and got home earlier.

I need to make a comment about a review that trashed down south. The nurses are good in Timmins but, in my 49 years down south, I always found the health care and the care professionals excellent. That needs to be said.

DONT USE TV SERVICE, its a scam, tvs dont work and wont refund your money, still waiting to see if the rest of hospital is good.

The staff and nurses are so amazing and compassionate, pleased with the service I got here for my parents

If you want a real diagnosis and don't want to be sent home with the wrong medication or actual trtreatme go somesomew else

The staff, nurses and doctors are one of the best in the province. Very passionate and professional, not like the ones in down south! Thank you.
