Tokyo Hot Fried Chicken

I didn’t enjoy my meal, chicken didn’t have much flavour. I think they should try marinating and seasoning their food.

Chicken is super flavour and crunchy and just overall delicious. The fires are on the saltier side but still very tasty. They have great sauces as well. Definitely do flavour very well in general.

Amazing food/menu, large portions, defo made with love. I hope this place never closes! The food always comes well prepared and delicious. Never had a problem with this restaurant. Keep doing your thing toyko chicken staff!

I remember growing up in Pakistan when KFC's Zinger burger eventually ended up being served as street food, people finally figured out how to make it. Cost was around 150 rupees which equates to about 0.85 cents and i wouldn't even pay that much for what i just tasted at this abomination of a Tokyo Fried Chicken Restaurant. Absoloutley disgusting food, literally gave me a stomach ache on the drive home to Mississauga, for starters the bun was cold and bland, and when asked if it was meant to be cold, waitress took it back and the cooks warmed it up as opposed to toasting it which made it 10 degrees hotter than when it first came. You're better off eating potato salad left out for atleast 2 days in the car during the summer time as opposed to their coleslaw which was nasty. Fries were from costco which i find so sad considering you're on college St, how are you still open in this economy. Their hybrid bar/Fried chicken restaurant thing is the only thing keeping them afloat because you need to be at least 10 shots of liquor in to like their food. We spent 30 bucks, Great customer service experience but is amongst the nastiest food i've ever tasted in the GTA. Save your money add 5 more bucks to the budget and go to PG Clucks, or just don't eat at all, start a 24 hour fast. Just don't eat here.

Frankly, you are a damn FOOL if you haven’t tried the karaage from this establishment yet, and I encourage you to spend money here IMMEDIATELY. Consistently tasty chicken-goodness, excellent value and clearly made with love every time, this has become a favourite of ours in the area.

Great food, some of the best fried chicken I've ever eaten. Staff is super friendly and kind. Can't wait to try the sandwiches next time.

Honestly their burgers and the tenders were amazing before. The fries are mid and wings have always be very bad. Now however the sandwiches are also mid. The spice level is pretty low for hot and there’s more crunch than meat in the sandwich, the quality of both the Nashville sandwich and Tokyo fried chicken sandwich has gone down drastically.

Half pound of wings turned out to be. 3 very small chicken wings for $13 and only weighing 4oz. And that was with sauce added! We weighed them because all 4 orders were pathetic! Never again. They weren't even great wings.

Do not order this on uber
It took 2 hours to get the foood
The drink came piping hot and the food came ice cold
The chicken was barely cooked inside, fries were soggy
The sauce was not applied properly- it just tasted like something that would make you sick for days.

Got the Tokyo hot fried chicken sandwich and the sauced fries. The chicken in the sandwich was juicy on the inside and had a great crunchy breading. Wish the pickles had a more vinegary flavour to cut through the grease a little better, but the bun held up well. The fries on the other hand were kinda disappointing. The fries themselves were pretty decent, russet fries but you pay almost $2 more for about 1.5 tsp of sauce and a tiny amount of really sad kinda dried out green onions. Plus the portion for the cost was a little small. Would definitely recommend the regular fries over the sauced fries. I ordered through a delivery app so can’t say what customer service was like.

The fried chicken is extremely greasy. The breaded skin might have been deep-fried for multiple times to be tasted crispy like, but the soaked oily skin made my stomach very uncomfortable. Especially the children wings, since it’s overly deep-fried, the meat inside is extremely dry. The worst chicken wings I’ve ever had. Additionally, The mini size sliced ginger salad cost me 3.75. I’m confused about wether it was a reasonable price or not.

Tokyo Hot Fried Chicken has so much to offer and is definitely an underrated spot that not a lot of people know about yet. They also have great deals for both students and normal diners so make sure to check them out

Edit: I spoke to the owner on Instagram and they are absolutely amazing. The staff were in training and everything was rectified. Highly recommend this establishment. This is the way a business should be run.

A few things here:
1. I made a reservation on open table and was there. Then got an email saying that I was a no show
2. They did not honor the $10 Nashville ice special. Their sandwich was $12.99 for a bun, chicken and a scoop of ice cream. No veggies.

Charged 20% gratuity on a takeout order and didn't inform. The previous review about stealing is a 100% correct.

I’m just disappointed that there were 6 tables since I entered and left and they kept saying it was reserved and I had to sit on stools

There was a 20% tip added to our bill without our consent. Have we resorted to stealing from customers to keep a business afloat? Food was decent but sneak charges and non-existent service really took away from our evening unfortunately. The music was very loud and it was difficult to have a conversation. I’ve come here before but will not be returning.

The food is fantastic but the delivery service through DoorDash is beyond terrible. It took almost 2 hours and most of that time the food was with the driver since Tokyo had the food out quickly. So it came cold which means you’re just reheating it at that point.

I’d still recommend but only if you can grab it yourself or dine in.

They accepted my Uber eats order than I waited 2 hours for my order to be canceled since they were closed. Worst experience

Okay! DON'T SKIP THIS LITTLE SLICE OF HEAVEN! Seriously the best fried chicken I've ever had (and my stepdad is Jamaican but please don't tell him). I ordered a mini bento, and gyōza. Both were unreal! Unbelievably moist and super duper crunchy. The ginger slaw is really yummy too. I've been back twice since and cannot express how great this place is. Service is phenomenal as well.

Honestly they don’t make good fried chicken. Period. And their sauce makes the chicken more unappealing.

Amazing friendly staff! And honestly one of the best Nashville hot chicken sandwiches I’ve had! It was super crunchy and flavourful! I will have to come back and try the other items on their menu!

I’m a regular regular customer here via Uber. I’ve ordered from this place more than 10x in total but the last 2 times in the last 2 weeks, I’ve gotten food poisoning. I had the thought the first time around and this second time confirms it.
I really enjoy their food, just don’t want to get sick from it.

Overall, the food and service were unsatisfactory. The dishes were oily and not spicy as stated, the fries were burnt, and the coke was flat. The server was rude and inattentive, and the atmosphere was lacking with no good music and a wait time even after a reservation. The restaurant experience was disappointing and does not warrant a recommendation.

Place online says closes at 11, but went at 10pm and they were closed with the lights off.

OMG! This place has the best food in Ontario hands-down this place is amazing absolutely love their menu! The food is delightful everything tastes amazing and it’s definitely worth every bite! You have to try it out! The humans that work behind the scene are just as amazing! I wish I could give you guys a higher star rating! I started drooling writing this review! Just thinking about a Tokyo hot fried chicken Sandwhich!
