We felt entirely immersed in nature and local wildlife without leaving the city! I've lived close to the Humber my whole life, but I saw parts of the river I'd never seen before. A fantastic experience!
16 September 2023 14:59
Amazing experience. The staff was super helpful. The price was very good for the time. Will do it again next year.
11 September 2023 2:12
It was a good experience over all, except that my paddle was bend and I didn’t realized until I was already on the water, and the life savers vests smell so so badly, armpit and sweat

I could stay a while, that's for sure. I was able to witness birds here you would not normally see in the wild. If you travel to all the marshes, they're low water and stunning. The birds seem to be living every minute of it.

Kayaking was a great experience. And two hours should be more than enough time for anyone who's not conditioned to be out paddling on the water. As your hands will probably start to wear in a similar time frame.

Our trip was amazing from 11: 30 -1: 30. Directly after we finished, there were boat loads of people lined up and ready to go for the next session.

The rentals available were, canoes, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, and two person kayaks. A few people even brought their dogs along for the journey. The price was roughly $35 per person/kayak. Paid ahead of time, or on the spot. But you do need to book a minimum 24 hours ahead of your booking. Or the time slit won't be available online. So, you're taking a gamble by arriving on site without a booking.

This is one of those journeys I would love to do again. 100%. It was so relaxing being out on the water in a city that feels like it doesn't have such nature available. Go out and enjoy.

The birds, ducks, heron, and many others were all out on the prowl. Inside the marshes was really quite captivating.

Make sure to bring some water with you on your journey. And you won't find much shade out on the Humber River.

This was such an amazing experience! It was my first time at this location only 4 minutes from Old mills subway station.everything was great. Peaceful paddle in a canoe down the river! All staff were super friendly.special thanks to Ethen (tour leader),
I definitely want to come back and do it again!
30 July 2023 3:38
We had a great kayak day. Launch was easy and parking accessible, close to water so easy to get the kayak in. It was busy. But really enjoyed it. About 1.5 hours was enough to go from the bottom to old mill. We took our time.
28 July 2023 11:47
The whole stretch was great. In particular the Shangri la Marsh was beautiful. Must try at least once!
26 October 2022 6:50
It is nice place for kayaking and k canoeing. I went with my family. They charged $50 for security and $25 for an hour rent for conae.

If you are looking for something active to do in Toronto in either season, make sure to check out Toronto adventure for kayaking, canoeing (+ voyager canoeing) and paddle boarding.

They even have a glow in the dark option that you can check out (keep in mind there is limited/ seasonal availability). You can take lessons and also do rentals.

If this is your first time trying this kind of activity, I suggest going on a day with good weather (no winds/rain) for smoother currents. Also, stay hydrated and reserve your energy as you will be pretty active during this experience.

We tried out the glow in the dark tandem kayaking. It was quite the experience; can’t wait to go back and try the single kayak during the day.

Shoutout to the staff at Toronto adventure for your hospitality and especially to those who went the extra mile, patiently guiding and staying with us as it was our first time trying out the tandem option. Definitely worked up a sweat and it was well worth the challenge!

Would you experience this next?

Bo was super informative and helpful, we had a great time. My arms were so so sore afterwards though!
11 October 2022 2:49
This was an awesome exciting experience. My wife and our 3 adult kids decided to head out on the water to help break up the dog days of summer. This was our first time at Toronto Adventure Humber River but not our first time kayaking. My wife and I started out with a tandem canoe, but we couldn’t believe how unstable and tippy it felt. So we rowed back to shore and exchanged it for two single kayaks. The staff was incredibly helpful and understanding. I’ve been in many canoes but for some reason this seemed to flex in the middle a lot. We were told that the canoe was the most stable watercraft they had but that wasn’t our experience. Once we switched to the single kayak we were set and had a great time. I can’t recommend the tandem canoe as our experience wasn’t great, but the kayaks were much easier to balance. Overall a great time!
08 October 2022 21:34
It was my first time going Kayaking and I had so much fun. There is a part in the river that has shallow water so you have to be careful to not go over it otherwise your kayak won’t move and you have to get out to push it; but overall this place is perfect if you are a beginner.
07 October 2022 1:50
Great guys, good location, reasonable prices.
It will be awesome if you add more fast sea kayaks with rudder in the future:)
14 September 2022 13:43
If you are new to paddling and kayaking, I would suggest this! The humber river is quite calm and there is a lot of room to paddle around. The trail is quite nice too and it goes all the way to the Humber Arch Bridge.

You can also see some wildlife along the way, mainly water fowls. If you take a slight detour along the way, you will come across a lily pond as well.

For those who dont know paddling, there is also a training course offered. The rental is decent and you have about 2 hours to paddle around. There is a guided tour along the river if you want.

They have limited parking available but there is parking in the nearby park. Plus it is right below the Old Mills station.

All in the end, it is a good workout for those arms!
08 September 2022 14:24
Place is nice, but NOT ENOUGH PADDLEBOARDS! We wanted to rent a party of 8 for Friday but there are only 2 available. Please get more boards so we can all enjoy paddling!
07 September 2022 23:39
Very nice for a Sunday afternoon! They do have a lot of different activities, including at night! Price is perfect and it can even be made the same day if there is space.very nice guides and you get to rent anything you want. Very enjoyable activity.
26 August 2022 18:32
They ask for tips during orientation and you still have to carry your canoe into the water (?) Tips for what exactly? Is paying $80 plus tax for a two hour rental not enough?
14 August 2022 6:33
Had a wonderful time with Toronto Adventures and Mathias earning my Basic Kayak Skills Sea Certification. Mathias is knowledgeable, patient and an excellent teacher. Thanks Toronto Adventures!
31 July 2022 8:49
What a gem in Toronto. And what a shame that I have been living in Toronto for 18 years but didn't know this place. It is really worth it for the beginner lesson, guided tour is included. Our instructor Bo is great and not only taught us how to kayak but also show us the homes of Egret and cormorants. Thank you, Bo. Will definitely visit again at least in autumn.
30 July 2022 6:33
Your on your own if something wrong happens.make sure you have inflatable bag or something.dont take valuable stuff, car keys on you when canoeing.similar businesses usually provide that or at least have lockers.
25 July 2022 15:42
We rented tandem kayak. The staff are friendly and professional.

However, the tandem kayak here is the worst I have ever seen, and it is different than what is currently advertised. The kayak is reasonably fast but track terribly. If you stop pedaling you will see the kayak turn in a tight circle even in the calmest conditions. But at the same time, it is not maneuverable. It responds lazily to you paddling on one side. This is just a amazingly horrific combo of charateristics. It makes piloting this tandem kayak annoying and frastrating.

Other small issue include The front row does not have pegs. And unlike the one advertised, two people sits decently close together, which makes interference between you frequent if you don't work together.

I simply cannot recommand beginners to choose tandem kayak here.
14 July 2022 5:19
I’ve booked with Toronto Adventures a couple of times before and it’s always been a great, fun experience! Recently I purchased a few tickets for Father’s Day and had to make changes a couple of times which would have been a nightmare anywhere else. However I had the absolute pleasure of having Simone assist me for all my booking interactions and she was the best! So friendly, caring and wanted to make sure all my needs were taken care of! Shout out to you Simone for the amazing customer service you provided! You already made my experience a great one!
24 June 2022 20:24
Today cherry blossom attracted bso much people to visit even is not weekend. Whit and light pink are in peak. But pink one close to pond hasn't opened yet. Parking lots in High Park closed. Only can park on blood street. Suggest to take subway. Just few minutes walk to high park. Washroom in park closed but offer porta-potty. Food vendors, including ice cream truck are open.
05 November 2021 1:03
Beautiful area on Humber river. Pay to use Toronto Adventures equipment or bring yr own canoe, etc. Toronto Adventures provide 2 hours use of their equipment. Great beginner or just lovely time in the river.
24 October 2021 20:47
Good place to paddle in Toronto. I took a single kayak for Comedy on the River and it was nice. The comedy was okay. Felt a bit expensive for what I got and if I were you I’d opt for the longer 2 hour tour to really explore the Humber River. The kayak was comfortable and it was good for beginners of all fitness levels; I got a workout from it at least. People were also helpful to take my kayak for me. Overall, a pretty nice relaxing experience!
17 October 2021 17:58
Amazing way to experience the nature that still exists in Toronto. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and the staff were all very covid aware!
05 October 2021 1:18
Equipment is good, setup is good. The problem was the instructor. Condenscending and egotistic. Frequently uses phrases like "it's not that hard", "I don't know why people struggle with it" or his favorite while we were struggling in the water, "Stop.look at me, look at me" - as I hit the shore.
Also, he kept self promoting himself as a doctor of natural science, he's overqualified for this job and he knows everything there is to know about the animals of humber river - why are you berating your customers and not doing natural documentaries then?
Other staff are ok, but will not come back if doctor of natural sciences is still there.
03 October 2021 18:30
Great experience canoeing here. Excellent staff and excellent explanation about the river in general. I would definitely want to go here again.
02 October 2021 14:28
Loved the experience. As we were first time canoeing, our instructor Ethan made sure to stay with us and guided us on paddling strokes during the whole trip. He even went far and beyond to step out of his kayak in the mud to push our canoe, when it got stuck in the marshes. It was adventurous and we can't wait to go back canoeing again.
30 September 2021 7:11
Good selection of kayaks and canoes. Staff is very friendly and helpful. And you get the choice if just renting and go at your pave, or go on an actual tour with a guide.
You also get basic instructions.
The location is fantastic. The Humber is a rare oasis in the middle of the city.
Pre-covid we did an evening concert tour. We got on kayaks and canoes and paddled to the Budweiser anfitheatre to listen to the concert, then paddle back in the moonlight. So cool
29 September 2021 8:56
We did the 2-hour guided tour with a lesson. The lesson is mostly basic tips and safety practices. Don't go expecting anything in-depth, but if it's your first time in a kayak it's definitely helpful. The staff were nice and helpful. The kayak was comfortable as far as comfort can be measured for a kayak. While we were offered a guided tour, we were free to explore on our own. The price seemed reasonable to me, they provided all the gear. I'll definitely be going again!
26 September 2021 1:22
This company is a well oiled machine that provides kayaks and canoes at an affordable price at a great location. The humber river connects to Lake Ontario and is worth visiting!
25 September 2021 21:16
Booked kayaks for 7 people but weather was looking quite bad for the Sunday thunderstorms all day despite the Saturday being clear. I called on Friday. They had the kayaks available for the Saturday so I asked to switch for the better day and they wanted to still charge a fee for each kayak to save the reservation. I'll never use Toronto Adventures again.
17 September 2021 8:32
Really enjoyed how easy it was to make a booking, show up, and paddle the lake. Staff were very helpful and so nice! The river was Fairly busy with other canoes/kayakers, and private boats, but still lots of wildlife
02 September 2021 13:40
Really calm waters. Very Shallow. The kayaks are sturdy. Had so much fun. 2 hours is more than enough time to get to the end and back. If you have never kayaked before, then watch a short video to help you maneuver and not waste time figuring it out. Must do.such friendly staff too.
31 August 2021 12:59
Very relaxing, good siteseeing. We saw beavers, swans, lots of ducks. Nice activity for the day. Tiring if you never try paddling, but good exercise, with nice views of wild animals.
20 August 2021 13:37
We didnt like or enjoy being there. We had planned to do canoeing there but didnt feel like spending any money there. It was not fun and didnt feel it was very clean, even the water didnt seem clean.
19 August 2021 5:40
We went kayaking on July 21, the staff were very friendly, and professional, the price is more than reasonable, $30/person/2hrs.next time I will do 4hrs, relax and enjoy the peacefulness and sceneries, and fishing and have some nice food in the boat too.make it romantic!
I forgot my 2 phones in the pocket, and the staff found and kept for me,
thank you so much! Love you guys.
17 August 2021 14:21
I have been 8n Humber river seen it all this guy's are really good just shoot a massage and they really on it they answer any questions fast so drove to see they pretty busy doing a great job so maybe one day I will rent from them
07 August 2021 15:58
Great water experience for city people! Check-in was easy and they got you safely in the boat in no time.
01 August 2021 6:51
The worse day ever in my life! We rented a canoe after 2-3 minutes, it flipped and capsized and ruined our day. The receptionist said we don't have refund service right now but we will refund you soon. Not only they didn't refund us but also they never responded to our emails. So unprofessional and poor quality services!
31 July 2021 2:01
Had a lovely paddle today. It's quiet, scenic and so very relaxing. Equipment was cleaned and ready, was given a quick how to and what we can see. Assistance getting in and out. All in all a great time.
25 July 2021 8:56
Had a really successful beginner experience in 2 hour rented kayak. The welcome part was a bit confusing and I didn't realize someone could help me learn how to get in the kayak safely and get started safely. I got in my boat with the help of a friend. They sent a staff member to keep an eye on us half way. Coming back was quick and easy and retuning the boat was simple as staff took the boats right from the shore. Would definitely go again! $34 included lifejacket.
15 July 2021 13:10
An awesome place for beigners. Not very deep water.few wetlands.and nice wildlife around the wetlands. Loved my first kayaking. In reasonable price
27 June 2021 21:44
It was so calm doing kayaking at this very calm and serene Toronto Humber park spot. Ill come back soon for another adventure
02 February 2021 14:47
Instructions are minimal (thankfully), prices are low, and you likely won't fall in the water are ruin your entire outing.but it's also not super exciting. However if you do fall into the water and it's a cold day out then you can bump the entire experience down to a 1.
07 January 2020 19:32
My boyfriend & I went canoeing for the first time and I just want to say the staff here are great! Very helpful, answered all my questions respectfully and reassured me I will be fine. The area is quiet and the view's are great.
23 November 2019 17:02
Amazing place to experience nature and go for a paddle adventure in Toronto. Always friendly and efficient staff.
13 November 2019 1:17
I went Kayaking with my wife after buying a Groupon. It was the first kayaking for my life and was alot fun and exciting. We kayaked along Humber river for about 2 hours. As a guide kept leading our group we felt safe and learned how to kayak efficiently. All staffs were kind and nice. This is a very good spot for a beginner to experience kayaking with beautiful nature.
12 November 2019 16:56
Prepaid online, nice quick check in and we were off. Friendly staff. Beautiful day, calm water. Was on my bucket list.
21 September 2019 9:05
I have been kayaking 3 times with the Toronto adventures crew. The first time, I met Mathias who is one of the leaders. He explained everything from start to finish. From how to paddle the kayak, to how to make turns. He also helped push my boat into the water which was very helpful. I found it easy to paddle the boat following his instructions. Overall the first time I went paddling with Mathias, as our leader was fun and fulfilling. The second time I went kayaking was on the rouge river, with Rosaire. Rosaire is a great leader and friendly and approachable dude. He made the trip fun. He relayed us the instructions, provided a snack, (since it was a day trip), and was over all nice and courteous. The third time I went kayaking, Rosaire was also my leader. He actually brought a single kayak for me since it was out of stock online. He also explained everything and led us down the Humber river at NIGHT (since it was a full moon paddle) We came back to the dock once we were done and as I was getting out of my canoe, my legs were wobbly and I almost fell into the river but Rosaire caught my hand and saved me from feeling falling. I am super grateful for that.

So the team at Toronto adventures are nothing but kind, hardworking people. They do their very best in planning and executing these trips from unloading boats (which are quite heavy) to reloading and setting up the site. I would definitely recommend whoever is reading this to check out Toronto adventures for all your summer and winter adventures! They are a fun and good group of people!
14 September 2019 0:36
I have rented many kayaks over the years, but last week's kept pulling to the right no matter what we tried, making the 2hr rental a nightmare. To be honest, I would not recommend this place.
04 September 2019 4:38
I tried kayaking with my whole family. Super fun but it was too hot, i would say check the weather then go. My sister tried the solo kayak and someone peed in the kayak it was completely wet. Make sure you check inside.the lady that helped us had the cutest golden retriever, she let me play with him. Make sure you come back before your time is up, they have extra charges for being late.
02 September 2019 14:52
We rented a 3 person canoe today. It was great and very relaxing paddle. Friendly staff, clean canoe, decent paddles, clean and well fitting life jackets. It was worth it.
30 August 2019 21:44
I've been twice to this location. Once in July with a friend, we rented a canoe it went smooth. No problems at all.
The second time, I took 4 ppl with me rented a number of kayaks online a couple of hours ahead. We get there & they're "all reservations are cancelled due to the weather forecast". So all of a sudden you noted the inclement weather?
This buisness failed to inform customers on it's website of their decision to cancel and still allowed the reservation to go through. With the technology we've today, this was avoidable if the business owners care about their customers.
I've not been yet refunded, hopefully I don't have to chase them for long.
26 August 2019 17:46
Highly recommend. Was our very first time canoeing, rented a regular canoe and had a blast. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Will def return.
26 August 2019 8:50
The "gentleman" organizing the group (third party as commented by owner in response) to get attendants paddling in the river, was treating everyone as cattle, specially women. "Ladies move over here", "ladies, form a line there". It's XXI century dude! Not to mention his ridiculously lacking organizational skills.

When trying to pay, the "gentleman" was charging more than he should (keep an eye on the prices in the board), bargaining and not providing the kind of boat I paid for. Asked for my money back and took off.

[Note after owner's response] I understand now the organizer was not working for Toronto Adventures directly but for a Meetup Group. In any case having unprofessional third parties does not play nicely for the them specially it they don't take care of the matter when they were asked as I did at the moment.
17 August 2019 15:16
Great boats and equipment. We rented the big boat for 2 adults and 2 kids and it was a lot of fun and the scenery is gorgeous!
15 August 2019 3:10
Got here on some R&R event from my company and I was pleasantly surprised. Been a while since I had been on a canoe or kayak but it all came back nicely. Staff is super professional and helpful explaining everything. I came with a big group and we had a blast. Paddled down the Humber all the way to the opening of the river, overlooking Lake Ontario. Beautiful views all along the way. It's like you are in a completely different place. And it's right in the "middle" of the city. Loved it. Don't forget to bring some water especially on a hot day like today.
28 July 2019 15:34
Great for some exercise close to nature. You can run, walk, bike, kayak in the river, yoga, or just relax along the trail.
25 July 2019 0:24
Paid extra for a lesson and a guided tour that did not happen. First timers and they sent us off by ourselves with little instruction on how to maneuver the canoe. We were also with some people whose canoe has capsized. Overheard a staff saying "It's fine, they're still alive. " There was also no working toilet in the area. Still, the scenery was amazing even though the service was bad.
20 July 2019 19:52
Thrilling experience! Me and wife enjoyed a lot and the staff were too good.planning for visiting again:)
07 July 2019 1:34
Just had the worst experience ever. Their website said they had rentals and showed up and said their website was broken. The person taking to us said he didn't know and didn't really care. I will never use this company their employees are awful.
