I had to bring my Frenchie Tyson in through emergency at AHP as he was experiencing neck pain. After conducting assessments and scans, Tyson was diagnosed with a herniated disc in his neck and surgery was recommended. Dr Lovell was very patient and thorough in explaining the surgery and answering any questions I had. She was very compassionate and you can tell she really cares about her patients. I felt very comfortable with her assessment and recommendations. She promised follow-ups after surgery to keep us updated on Tyson’s progress and we got consistent updates post surgery and into recovery which really helped put us at ease during this process.

Seeing Tyson now running and pain free again makes me so happy. Thank you to Dr Lovell and team for taking such good care of Tyson and helping him get back to being himself. Also wanted to thank Dawn from Neurology who was always so kind in her interactions with us and Tyson on multiple occasions at AHP.

Cannot express how appreciative we are of the doctors and vet technicians here. They take such great care of our boys and couldn’t ask for more. Thank you so so much!

Truly the best experience. We’ve had to visit twice in the last year and they are so wonderful.

How do I begin to thank this wonderful hospital that has helped my little dog walk again. I am forever grateful to Dr. Stephanie Lovell and her team. Not only did my dog receive the best healthcare possible but the support and compassion and care we will forever be thankful.

My family dog passed away recently under the care of Dr Stephanie Lovell and her team and the overall experience has been traumatic from my dogs sudden health problems and the outcome in the span of two weeks.

Stephanie Lovell was very kind towards me and my family during our grief. Our dog was suspected of having a tumor or mass which the MRI result revealed nothing. While everything pointed to that diagnosis, it became apparent that was not the case.

My dog went in for the MRI but his vitals were dropping where they had to conduct CPR multiple times for almost an hour to resuscitate.

My family is coping with the loss and I am left shaken with uncontrollable sadness, frustration and anger. I have to believe the team did their best and my dog passed away peacefully with no pain.

I am so thankful to the staff at Animal Health Partners, we were referred to this hospital from another emergency clinic. Our 2 year old Nova was suspected of having IVDD and was paralyzed from the neck down. Our family was a complete mess and everyone at the hospital was so caring and attentive to our Nova. She needed an emergency surgery and within a few hours she was having surgery done and so grateful she was put as a priority. We were told that our dog would be back to somewhat of a normal life in a few weeks. I honestly thought my dog would not survive this or end up never walking again from the state we brought her in. Within 3 days she was walking at the hospital and for that I am truly grateful to Dr. Stephanie Lovell and her staff. We went in for her follow up appointment 2 weeks later and had a great experience. We came from over an hour away and would definitely come back if anything happened to our beloved Frenchie!

Dr. Kilburn, neurological vet tech Jen, Rebecca and the ladies at the front were all exceptional! Thank you so much for taking great care of our Ginger. Ginger say woof times 100

Professional, sympathetic, and polite staff.
Honestly run clinic that does not drain your wallet.

Hopefully won't be back soon, however I am glad me and my significant other chose here.

Highly recommend, I am telling everyone I know.

Thank you very much for your help, this place is an existing miracle.

I rarely leave reviews but wanted to express my gratitude for the excellent care my dog, Romeo, received at Animal Health Partners. Romeo is an almost 6 year old French bulldog, a breed prone to intervertebral disc disease (IVDD). About 3.5 weeks ago, he seemed to hurt his back (likely at the dog park). I took him to his regular vet who advised rest, medication, etc. Over the next 2 days he seemed to get progressively worse, he started to show some neurological deficits in his hind legs and could not seem to get comfortable to rest. It was awful. I ended up taking him to Animal Health Partners in the middle of the night because I was so worried. He was assessed by the emergency doctor and I was given the option to admit him to be seen by neurology in the morning, which I elected to do. Tania, who was working that night, was so kind and patient with me and worked with Trupanion to get preauthorization for Romeo's care. The next morning the neurologist, Dr. Alison Little, got in touch with me and explained the plan (CT, possibly MRI, and likely decompression surgery). Everything came together super fast and Romeo was going into surgery the same afternoon. He spent one day in the ICU and was ready to come home on Saturday morning. I'm so thankful to Dr. Little and the whole team at Animal Health Partners. It looks like Romeo will make a full recovery and I feel so lucky that he was able to access excellent care so quickly.

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! If you love your pet, please do NOT come to this facility. They are money hungry and have no care or compassion for the animal. They will make it seem like your pet is doing fine just to get more money out of you, the most unethical and inhumane practice I’ve ever dealt with! They overcharge and are unable to explain the charges when asked! This place deserves 0 stars and should be shut down! Also, they delete negative reviews that shed light on how this business operates.

We are so grateful for Dr. Kilburn and the team at Animal Health Partners. Easter long weekend our mini dachshund was in extreme pain due to a spine issue. She received excellent care while hospitalized and did phenomenal in surgery. Dr Kilburn and his staff called regularly with updates which was much appreciated by this anxious fur-mom. The best care we could ask for our baby, we were never worried about her while in their care, thank you for helping us.
25 April 2023 21:11
I had to take my dog there once on the weekend for an emergency. They were so kind and they gave me so much information and told me exactly what they needed to do. They were also so kind and fair with the cost. Fast forward a year later my dog injured a leg and I called me. Tonya was so kind and amazing that she put my mind at ease. I highly recommend this clinic when you really need it. They know what they are doing. They are amazing because no one else will give you their time, especially on the weekends. When emergency comes knocking, this is my go-to place when I need it.
20 April 2023 6:54
Absolute trash services that are nothing but a cash grab. They overpriced and over-prescribed us when treating our cat. Their lack of consistent communication between emergency doctors between shifts nearly led to a mishap with not providing us with instructions to administer one medication. We waited in the emergency room for over 4 hours before seeing a doctor. And the attitudes of the front desk staff is super apathetic and rude over the phone. BEWARE! Avoid this clinic at all costs and take your pet somewhere else if you care about them.

EDIT: I contacted them at the email below to see if they would actually offer a resolution. The head of emergency animal medicine reached out to "clarify" miscommunications and admitted that the communication provided could have been better. However she explained that unfortunately, she was understaffed and that Ontario was experiencing a veterinary crisis and so could not do anything about it. She will look further into our file to determine a potential solution, stay tuned

Super friendly staff - from front desk to assistants - everyone was very nice and supportive for Chalupa and I, even with a false emergency. Will definitely go back if need be. Would 100% recommend.

My dog Lily, was brought here as an emergency after she suddenly became paralyzed one day about a month ago. It was a Friday evening and TAHP was the only hospital that would take us. We are so grateful that they did. We were told that the neurologist was still there and would see our dog which we are immensely grateful for. We took about an hour to come to a decision on whether we could get the surgery for her and once we consented, she was done with her CT and was in surgery in an hour! We are so impressed with the speed of treatment and the care that she was provided. We got consistent updates on how she was doing and she has had her 2 week recheck. She can walk again thank you to your amazing staff and neurologist.

My cat Jinx has a small deformity. The surgery department was able to book her in for a consultation and surgery soon after. The care given to her was amazing, and all the staff were so kind. Special thanks to Dr. Merhkens and Amanda! All pets are in good hands here.

This place is honestly not that great. They're horribly under-staffed and very expensive. The staff is quite nice but that only goes so far.

I was called to come get my dog in the middle of the night, and told he'd be ready in 30 minutes. I didn't get my dog back until around 2 hours later. After driving there and paying over $1k, I was made to wait an hour+ in the lobby at 3am (until 4am), just because there was no staff around to bring him out from the kennel. After asking 4 times if I could bring my dog home the receptionist went and got him for me. I asked if they had water available for him as he'd been there 6 hours, and they said they don't provide water to the dogs while they're waiting and that dehydration wasn't an issue even though my dog was brought in initially because he wasnt keeping water or food down.

No bad feelings towards the friendly staff but the place feels run with a focus very much on profit rather than on the animals. With the amount they charge for simple procedures, you'd think they'd be able to hire a few more folks to help out.
28 November 2022 23:24
Very experienced and emphatic staff, highly reliable, and they will always see your pet in moments of emergency and distress. We had several emergency visits with them this year, for different reasons (from having one of our doggies diagnosed with epilepsy to strong allergic reactions by the other doggie we have, gastrointestinal issues and eye problems) and every single time they’ve been there to care for our doggies in a very professional and at the same time emphatic way). Can’t thank them enough for the peace of mind it gives me to know that they’ll be there when in need.
25 November 2022 15:05
My partner and I adopted a seven-week-old kitten online and within a week of her coming home her health had deteriorated enough that we didn't feel she could wait until her scheduled vet appointment for veterinary care. After being turned away from the Scarborough emergency vet, TAHP took our baby in quickly, calmly and compassionately, immediately screening for parvo and keeping us updated despite a long wait time. The vet was able to work with us to find treatment that fit our budget while still being effective, and we were sent home with clear instructions and easy-to-use equipment.

While I hope we never need emergency vet services again, this is where we'll go if we do. Thanks so much to the front desk staff and vet for your help — less than a day later baby June is chasing toys and chowing down on her food as if nothing ever happened.

I have to commend this hospital and staff. I Am Amanda Kostynyk and i am using my husbands account (hence the name Mark Kennard) but i bring my 16 year old dog, Laci regularly to weekly cardiologist appointments. The team is amazing and one can tell, just on speaking to Dr. Litchenburger, that he is passionate about helping and that he is very knowledgeable. The technicians, Dianne and Amanda are always very warm and caring too and gentle with Laci. Felicia is so friendly and you just know your pet is in safe hands going in with her. And Julia, the cardiologist administration assistant is always so bubbly and friendly when she speaks to me.

Last week Laci had internal bleeding after a cytology. The cardiologist took Laci right away to ICU and Dr. Coady and her team got right to getting a blood transfusion ready so as to save Lacis life. Had it not been for the wonderful and knowledgeable cardiology team as well as Dr. Coady and her ICU team, our baby would not be here anymore. They kept us up to date on Laci and that her status was improving. She stayed overnight and was able to come home after 24 hours. Dr. Litchenburger was kind enough to snap some photos of Laci receiving her transfusion and send them to me the night Laci was admitted to ICU. I smiled for the first time in hours since crying and I felt so happy to see that. I posted the pic in the photos here on the website! The little black dog receiving a transfusion in the baby crib! How cute is she!

Both my husbands and my emotions were tested That night as we were so worried about Laci. Again I felt such relief when I saw the picture of Laci in ICU stable. And I really need to thank the whole facility for their world class care Laci receives there. Our other dog, Barnaby has been in a few times too for minor things such as an ultrasound and acid reflux. Again he was treated excellent also with wonderful recommendations from Dr. Pan and Dr. Breyer.

We have visited every 24 hour hospital in the GTA area and none even come close to Animal Health and their knowledge. We are devoted customers for our pets given the expertise and knowledge and how well run this facility is. I also must commend all the front desk ladies. Whenever I called whether for an appointment or for updates, theyare so friendly and so cordial. They are just so warm and you feel so confident your pet is at the right place. We have referred many friends and family to not only Dr. Litchenburger but to the facility for other needs. Dr. Litchenburger is the best cardiologist in the GTA as we have met them all!

Update: in March 2021 sadly our baby Laci passed away just after her 16 th birthday. She was in ER at AHP during her passing but the staff was just as excellent and wonderful. I was a wreck and as any owner, was questioning things and in disbelief that my baby was so sick. Unfortunately her heart just could not take anymore. I miss her dearly still to this day. Thanks to Dr Coady and Dr Brown and Dr Litchenbutger (and his lovely team!) and the lady doctor from Scotland (so sorry but I forgot your name!) and the ER techs Lily and a man named Anson (I think? Or something similar to that) and all the front desk staff. I hope I did not leave everyone out! Initially I questioned some of Lacis treatment protocols but I was in such emotional distress over losing her. This hospital is first class and so are the doctors and staff. We have since relocated to South Carolina this summer and have three new amazing rescues from Texas. We live right near an ER animal hospital and My hope is that when I have to go there, they are as qualified and good and compassionate as AHP is.

Young cat was acting lethargic and throwing up. Came here with concern of cat having ingested a foreign object. Waited over 2 hours in parking for doctor to be available. Not sure how my cat was stored for that time, but nonetheless stressful. Would have preferred cat to stay with us until doctor became available. They called us after 2 hours recommending that cat be monitored overnight incase of anything - $2800 - possible virus or organ failure.
We decided against it obviously. I'm sure the cat would prefer our company rather than their facility, for the meantime. Consult ER $145, Emergency Fee $72. All we recieved was an anti nausea, dewormer, subcutaneous fluid administration (for maintained hydration). Super thorough preventative measures!
$370 later and not even an X Ray or anything that addressed our initial concern of foreign object. We even cited a previous instance where the cat has injested foreign objects. Im no dr. But an X ray seems like a safe place to start.

Next day, cat has regained appetite and appears to have had a minor cold or flu - regaining playfulness and standard behaviours. We still have to get him to our family vet to ensure his health is looked after appropriately.

This vet will expand all opportunities to charge for unnecessary (but overly thorough and cautious) procedures. If you will spare any expense to ensure your pet will be okay, than this is the vet for you:)
I prefer calculated measures and deductive reasoning.

Upon conclusion, I politely asked if the discharge included a detailed receipt, to a "no. " without following up. They didn't offer one until prompted. "May I have one please? " - yes we can email you one.

I’m grateful that they would take us in at night but unfortunately the doctors couldn’t speak about FIP and told me it could be just parasites. So the treatment was delayed by an entire week.

I want to thank all staffs in ICU for your best care. My lovely friend Coco was diagnosed with an awful infection and she was fighting hard. Coco was getting best care from your staff and we are very thankful for that. It was very tough time for us but everyone was supportive. Everyday we got very clear update from doctors and staffs sent us pictures of Coco. I am so thankful for Dr Crandell who provided best care to Coco but also for us as well. When we had to put down Coco, it was first time for us but she was there to help and support us. Thank you for giving us more time with Coco.

My precious dog Angel had unfortunately been diagnosed with a grade 3/6 heart murmur early 2020. My primary veterinarian advised that I see Dr. Lichtenberger so Angel can get a echocardiogram and a diagnosis to further treat her heart.

I’d first like to thank the staff and vet technicians that helped me at the parking lot. The front desk was kind and gentle with me over the phone. The vet technician that took Angel inside of the building was reassuring, friendly and very kind to Angel who was nervous about entering the building without me. Being a staff of a veterinary clinic myself, I want to acknowledge how the difficulty of covid-19 has forced staff to readjust and adapt to the situation, but the staff at AHP has done more than adapt. Every step they took was handled smoothly and I just want to say how much I appreciate them giving clients their 100% during these difficult times.

And my biggest thank you goes to Dr. Lichtenberger.
He throughly explained every step he took with Angel, leaving no details out. Just by the way he was explaining all the steps to me, I could tell he was gentle and patient with Angel. Dr. Lichtenberger was very empathetic and thoughtful when talking to a very anxious client, and was very detailed when discussing the treatment options. He was very knowledgeable and respectful, I couldn’t ask for a better cardiologist for Angel.

The second time I went to AHP (2021) for a recheck, the exact same. Everyone was unbelievably kind and considerate towards me.

Angel’s heart has since been stable and even improved according to Dr. Lichtenberger since starting the medication he prescribed.
From being nervous and anxious for my first visit with AHP, now after meeting and speaking with the staff members and Dr. Lichtenberger, I can not wait for my next recheck visit as I know Angel will be 100% taken care of. I know whenever Angel goes to visit them, she will be put in the hands of very compassionate animal lovers who have nothing, but the best intentions for her.

Words can not express how grateful and appreciative I am towards the cardiology staff and Dr. Lichtenberger.

AVOID THIS HOSPITAL AT ALL COSTS!
Incredibly disgusted with the lack of care and professionalism this place lacks. If you want your pet to die sooner than expected- take them here. I took my dog go Dr. Gagnon who is an oncologist here and let me tell you this doctor doesn’t know the first thing abojt his job. First off when he speaks to you he’s questioning his own sentences and constantly correcting himself and when you ask for his opinion since I mean after all he is the doctor he’ll simply reply with - “well I’m not too sure that’s your choice”. When I took my dog for the initial visit he told me there was no point in doing a X-ray or ultersound because he could just tell from looking at her she had cancer… mind you if I had the option to go anywhere else I would’ve but every single other clinic in the GTA was scheduled months in and my vet told me
I needed an oncologist ASAP. This doctor doesn’t know the first to the last thing about his position and worst part is he’s always on vacation or always needs to reschedule your dogs chemotherapy every week. He has no consideration for anyone else. Then it’s the clinic- there is a serious lack of miscommunication between the staff as they too, have no idea what their doing. One example their ventilator hood broke and they told me they had no idea when it was going to be repaired and the delay in treating my dog could have a potential risk on her getting better but they couldn’t do anything about it. The manager of this place is even worse than the doctors and staff at this clinic combined- I think they found him on the street and asked him to manage this clinic.
ALL IN ALL, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

Our 3-year old Havanese with a severe case of Lepto was referred by our vet to Toronto Animal Health Partners three weeks ago. Her situation was grave upon admission, and our family cannot thank them enough for saving her life after two weeks of treatment.

The entire staff was exceptional throughout the entire process - the Doctors, techs and front desk were all compassionate, honest, and provided daily communication/updates.

Our dog is now recovering at home and are hopeful for a full recovery. Thanks again to everyone for all their efforts and care!

Just over a week ago our cat Caesar was showing some very troubling signs of illness. After calling and driving to 2 other places, Animal Health Partners was very kind to let us come in for our emergency visit. They definitely squeezed us in and we very much appreciate that. We just moved to Toronto recently and did not have a family vet yet.

Unfortunately our little boy was very sick and had to be put down. They were so kind and caring during the whole process. Given the circumstances, it was a very gentle experience. They explained everything perfectly and thoroughly. They made sure our little boy was comfortable and we felt cared for by JT (I hope I remembered that correctly) the rep for Gateway. I’ve never experienced having to put an animal of my own down before, but this was how I would of wanted it.

Best treatment I ever received! My dog Bruce had surgery with them and even after he was at home they kept calling to check how we're doing and how he was healing. I'm a very worried dog mom, I know I can be very annoying sometimes, calling all the time, but they gave me plenty of attention and helped me thru all of it! It's been a week now and I'm really happy with the service so far!

I woke up thinking about my sweet Mimi and realized I never wrote a review about my experience at the clinic last year.

I will never, ever forget the kindness and empathy shown to me and my partner by the staff at this clinic when my dog was in distress and living the last couple days of her life. They treated her with the best possible care, were so understanding to the pain we were experiencing, and made sure that we were able to send her off with dignity.

Veterinary staff are so valuable and under appreciated but they care for precious members of our families during their worst moments and should not be overlooked, especially throughout the last couple of years.

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you to Dr. Laura Tindal (emerg doc) who diagnosed our dog patchy patch with a uterine infection pyometrea requiring emergency surgery. Thank you to Dr. Lea Mehrkens and surgical team for doing the life saving surgery. You are all angels. Patchy patch is happy, active and eating lots. The regular updates from the team has put the whole family at ease and reassured us our dog was in the right hands. The discharge summary and meds she went home with were easy to follow and very informative. I don’t know what would happen if we went elsewhere. We will see you soon for her post op appointment.

We would like to greatly thank everyone in the Emergency at the Toronto Animal Health Hospital, especially Stacey and the woman with the blonde/blue hair (so sorry for not remembering your name) for doing everything you could to help Koko. We couldn't have asked for better caring people for her in her final days! Thank you for everything!

My first visit to TAHP was prior to Covid where my dog Takota saw Dr Kilburn in Neurology. Front staff was very kind, they even took a photo of my dog to post on social media. Dr. Kilburn was amazing. He explained everything so well and had excellent bedside manners.

My next couple of visits have been with Dr. Little ineurology who is also fantastic. She is thorough and was able to see my pup the same day I called in for an emergent issue. All staff at TAHP are kind and caring.

I have a 3 year old French bulldog named Lola who had gotten scared and jumped off the bed only to become paralyzed in her hind legs and neck. We rushed her to this hospital because a friend of mine works here and recommended it. Lola was seen the next day by a neurologist, Dr. Little who had informed my family that Lola had a huge cyst on her neck which was compressing her spinal cord. That same day Dr. Little performed the surgery to remove the mass. I am crying as I am writing this because the compassion that the staff showed not only my furbaby but others who came in and left as we waited was immeasurable. They put me and my family at easy about leaving her in their care for multiple days (they gave us daily updates on her recovery) and they helped through the fear we had of her diagnosis. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Little and her entire team for helping my little one.
11 December 2021 2:34
Dr Biskup met my puppy for our surgery consult today. Speaking to him, I can tell how much he cares for his patients and what a great DVM he is. He really took the time to explain everything to me and to ensure he had answered all my questions.
All the staff I have met at the clinic so far have been lovely.

If you want your beloved pet to be DEAD please bring it to Toronto animal health partners emergency and specialty hospital. They worst place in entire GTA.
I was referred to this hospital and I had all the paperwork for my pregnant dog. Doctor from Allandale vet hospital called and confirmed that they can take out beloved Stefka. We where almost at the hospital driving all the way from Barrie and they called and told us that they are not going to see us and don’t want another death in their hospital.
In the way back to the the Barrie hospital with was at 3am our dog died.
Thank you very much Toronto Animal Health Parents Emergency Hospital for waisting precious time and killing our dogs and all of her puppies!

Cannot say enough good things about Dr. Little in neurology. She listens, is sympathetic and more importantly excels at her work. She was able to diagnose our dog Maggie and provide excellent treatment options. Maggie was days away from not surviving and thanks to Dr. Little and her team, she continues to have excellent quality of life and her disease is stable. It’s been 10 months now and Maggie is still with us and we are enjoying every day. Thanks to Dr. Little and the neurology team! Photos show Maggie when she was in the ICU (bottom right) and others since her diagnosis and ongoing treatment.

I have never been to this vet hospital however when my puppy ate my cats antibiotics, I called them in a panic. They gave me wonderful advice and calculated the dose he ate compared to his body weight etc. They helped me through this state of panic and allowed me to care for my puppy and take the next appropriate steps. However when calling the Toronto Veterinary Hospital on Rolark drive, I was told to call a poison control line that would have charge me 75 USD, just to see if my puppy was in danger.

Our girl Autumn, a three year old Mastiff Mix, was referred to AHP due to significant ongoing liver and gallbladder issues (as we understood it then)

From the moment we arrived, anxious, and scared, after referral from Brantford to Toronto, we knew that at the very least, Autumn would be in good hands.

In less than 24 hours, we received the clarity we had been seeking for an extended period of time that we were never able to track down. Our girl was too sick to save, and humane euthanasia was the only option that would see her comfortable and at peace.

The entire Internal Medicine team at AHP were sympathetic, informative, and kind throughout this experience. They made a terrible situation one that we could live with, and the depth of information they shared ensured that we were confident with that choice.

I apologize as I can't recall the names of all staff who helped us, but I do want to acknowledge the incredible work of Dr. Archee, Dr. Westgarth, and Stacey, the Internal Medicine Coordinator.

Autumn crossed the rainbow bridge last night, after giving us one final push of happy zoom zooming, barking, running along the fence, and eating treats in the sunshine all day with her little brother.

Thank you.

Our dog Harriet was admitted last Wednesday and diagnosed with IMHA. We had little hope that she’d make it. While she still has a road to recovery, we are bringing her home today, thanks to their exceptional care and expertise. It is not a cheap experience (please get pet insurance!) but I am so grateful for their compassion, communication, and honesty in providing information and updates. Even if this ICU stay does not mean that Harriet recovers, then I know that they gave her the absolute best chance, and loved her up while they tried. I am so very grateful! ️

Please, if you suspect your pet is in need of urgent help, seek another animal hospital!

I brought my 8 week pregnant dog in for a checkup as she developed a hard time retaining food/water. They did an ultrasound and could not find any problems. I explained that no matter what I tried to feed her, even by bottle, she could not keep it down, possibly a blockage of some sort? They ended up giving her an injection and medication. The next day, no improvement, she actually appeared to be worsening as she began to pass in and out of consciousness. The vet figured it was due to exhaustion/heavy pregnancy, but I knew it was something more serious. You could tell she was was in severe pain, so I took video of the incidences and provided them to the hospital.
The vet suggested returning, And had to take her in on a stretcher. Astonishingly, the vet still did not seem to take her situation seriously despite my warnings and provided evidence. They placed her into the icu over night where she could be monitored more closely “apparently”. I was assured by their lead vet that her vitals were good and her situation didn’t seem too dire, and that they did not see a “fading dog”. The following morning, they tried to place a feeding tube and were unsuccessful and would re-attempt later on. I felt sick, because I knew something wasn’t right. I started to call and check up on her periodically, where the vet stated her vitals were “good”, though they didn’t sound too positive when saying it, giving me the feeling that they weren’t telling me something.

Going over their case notes makes me nauseous, Below was their morning assessment.

-Adult canine in serious condition
Potential for decompensation/death
Potential for fetal death or C-section Lethargy,
Inappetence
Regurgitation vs.vomiting
Hypoglycemia
Elevated ketones
Pregnancy toxemia

I was never made aware of the seriousness of the situation, I was only ever told that my dog is very pregnant, and her vitals are great/good. If I had known her condition and her developing pregnancy toxaemia, I would have opted for immediate c-section which more than likely would have saved my baby’s life. Precious ended up going into cardiac arrest in the icu that following night. I personally believe she choked to death while they tried inserting the feeding tube for the second time, but the vet said she unexpectedly arrested out of nowhere. They were able to resuscitate her, but unfortunately they were not able to do so fast enough, and she was now in a comatose state. My life ended that day. I knew something was wrong, they hid this information from me, maybe they were trying to be heroes, or maybe they just wanted to gouge me for money. AlI I know is that this is due to 100% negligence, and this likely could have been prevented if I was only made aware of the severity of the situation.
Post arrest, I opted to keep her on life support for the next 24 hrs to give her and her puppies a fighting chance, despite the odds. Her vitals increased, but her brain activity was null. I knew my baby was gone, so I prayed for the safety of the puppies. The vet suggested an early c-section due to potential toxins/internal damage caused by the arrest, though her vitals were improving? I wanted to give them more vital development time, but felt pressured. Heartbreakingly, none of the puppies survived, and shortly after, my baby girl was gone as well. Precious fought so, so hard, she fought harder than any of the vets did. She deserved better.

We only bred her because our whole family absolutely adored her. I was going to keep 2 puppies, and the rest would have been spread throughout family and friends as a gift, or at cost. It’s absolutely devastating that something as beautiful as pregnancy, could end so tragically. Precious was my daughter, she was/is the most important thing to me in this world.

Enjoy the $12,000-$14,000 I spent in vet bills guys, you definitely DON’T deserve it. Learn, and do better next time, a life’s a life.

P.s. I don’t want your empty sympathies or excuses, I want my baby girl back.

This animal hospital has amazing staff. They not only quickly diagnosed our pup, but they were understanding of our anxieties & sadness. Our pup suddenly collapsed & we were devastated. We were recommended to Toronto Animal Partners by our local vet as a last resort as they had the most experienced & highly knowledgeable team, as well as the resources necessary to diagnose our little guy. Without them, we likely would have euthanized Simon not knowing that his condition could be treated. I will be forever grateful to the patient staff that saved him & helped keep our hearts full

We just returned from a day trip to find our one year old cat in distress - weak/limp, breathing erratically, vocalizing. Making a trip to the emergency vet in the wee hours of the night, when you are sick with worry, is never a pleasant experience, but the receptionist and vet were extremely compassionate, professional, and thorough. I was too distressed to remember their names but I will find out and add them! The vet was extremely clear and thorough in her explanations of her exam and diagnostic testing, which is appreciated more than you know. Still not sure what’s happening with our cat but some of the big concerns have been ruled out and we can follow up with our regular vet. Thanks everyone!

Everyone here was super helpful and supportive. When we originally went there late Saturday night they weren’t sure they had the vacancy for my dog but ended up taking him so we were super grateful for that. He was in emergency for approximately 3 days and they kept us updated after every test was complete. After realizing that my dog had a tumour and the possibility of saving him was very very low we took him home to have him around his family. Unfortunately things became worse and he stopped eating and showed signs of a steady decline so we made the decision as a family to put him at rest so he didn’t have to suffer anymore. It was one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make but know it was the right one, because its not about us but the best decision for him. Rocky passed away yesterday at around 11am. You’re free now my boy and no more suffering. Thanks to all the staff for everything. I’m sure Rocky made some sort of impact on everyone he came across there. Thanks again

I work at another animal hospital and had to send my cat for an emergency surgery last week. From beginning to end, AHP was a pleasant experience and after speaking to the surgery department and Dr. Biskup, my worries were no more as I knew my girl was in great hands. Dr. Biskup and team went took amazing care of my sweet girl pre and post-op. I cannot thank them enough for saving her!

They should remove any discussion of "emergency" from their business profile because they have no idea about what constitutes one.

My cat, Lulu, was a patient here for just over a year. She saw Dr. Pan, Rachel, And Dr. Wesgarth.and even became a friend of one of the front desk staff, Tessa! All of them were amazing, dedicated, and cared for her as if she was their own. I was never worried when she was in their care as I knew she was in good hands. Unfortunately, we lost Lulu just about a month ago. But I continue to tell family and friends about AHP if they are ever in need. I am so grateful for your hard work, dedication, and endless love you give to these animals. I’ll always come back to AHP if ever in need. Highly recommend!

Brought my dog in and I was honestly nervous because most emergency hospitals charge you high prices but this emergency clinic was very professional especially during COVID. Everything with the charges made sense and did not have any problems with the pricing and they especially made sure if I was okay with any medically procedure and pricing before they performed it on my dog. They also throughly describes what was wrong with my dog and gave me advices. I 100% recommend this hospital for any emergency care as I can see they cared for my dogs well-being!

No one likes to have to bring their beloved pet to an emergancy hospital, during COVID it’s even worse. Nonetheless, when our cat was experiencing renal problems and needed IV fluids, but had to be monitored due to her heart murmur, our vet suggested Toronto Animal Health Services.

Due to COVId, we parked and someone came out to take our cat - asking questions and taking her personal effects which we wanted in the cage with her, if possible.

We were nervous about how we would communicate with the doctors but within an hour someone called us to let us know their initial results and plan of attack. They were also careful to let our vet know beforehand to tell us what the estimated cost for the entire stay would be.

Throughout her three day stay they called us twice daily to give us updates and always asked for permission before administering any drugs. We were able to ask any questions we had, the doctors always patient with us.

My only suggestion would be not to call pet parents super late - our 2nd update call happened at 1am - as it’s a deeply scary situation since you immediately jump to conclusions.

Otherwise, a great experience and we will be using them from now on.

Animal health partners was beyond amazing! My experience start to finish was great. I went in with my pup through emergency. The wait time was very reasonable, the doctor called and explained everything, they took GREAT care of him, and delivered him back to me with prescription and all so happy!

Being that its an emergency hospital and that my cat was cared for on a holiday, it was obviously quite pricey. That said however, the compassion I felt from everyone I had to speak to, from the doctors to the receptionists, I knew my cat would be in very good hands. The receptionists were very caring and responsive. I was really worried my cat would need surgery but the vets were confident and clear about the low risk of complication that would come out of a non-surgical alternative. They gave me an estimate for how much I should expect to pay, ranging on how complicated/severe it could get. The only weird part was paying a deposit 50% of the higher end of the estimate and pre-authorizing the full payment on your card. But, I guess I'll just need to monitor my account to ensure they billed me according to the final statement. Very very happy with the treatment my kitty got, and the helpfulness of this team. Thank you AHP!

My dog was attacked by a beaver, and had a dozen of punctured wounds. I am very happy that they saved my dog’s life. They did a great job flushing the wounds to make sure there’s no bacteria.

It is not a 5-star review because for one, they did not give my dog enough injection to ease his pain after surgery. My dog came home at night, and was in so much pain he stood up all night. He could not lay down at all. He was in so much pain and I could not do anything help. They also wrapped him with a very uncomfortable bandage which caused him unable to pee properly. I called them for advice, and was told to give him more sedating pills that don’t work. I was also told to ignore him and go to bed.

Second, I called again, and unfortunately, an older woman on the line was extremely rude. She had no sympathy for my dog that he was in such pain. He was standing for so many hours that his paws were swollen! She refused to have a vet to speak to me. I asked her, “maybe there is some other medication or injections he needs? ” Her answer was, “sounds like you know already what to do then you don’t need us” (with attitude). I had to hang up on her, and call again to get someone else. How can you talk to someone like that when they are concerned about their dog right after surgery?

The next day, I brought my dog back to my own vet. They immediately gave him some injections to put him to sleep and to ease his pain. I was told they did not give him enough injections at all. My vet also took off that bandage, and gave him a comfortable gown instead. This has caused not just my dog in pain all night standing up, but also a sleepless night for us.

Once again, I am grateful that they saved his life. I just hope they were a little more sensitive to their pain and comfort. However, the woman on the phone I really have no comment.

Save your money and find another place that would give you better service. The staff were kind and polite, however the Doctor that handled my kitten wasn’t very professional. I brought my cat in due to an infected eye and long story short the Doctor said that I would have to pay $150 plus tax which I accepted. In the end after a long wait I was billed $376.00 which got me confused. First of all The antibiotics wasn’t even available in the hospital so I had to go to shoppers drug mart which by the way the antibiotics prescribed has been back ordered for a months due to low shortage so I had to wait for 1 hour again at the pharmacy for the doctor to change the prescription what a joke. I don’t discourage pet owners to seek medical emergency, but just make sure you pay real attention to what they are doing to your pet as they will charge you for diagnostics without telling you, they will tell you about the diagnostic testing, and how much it will cost, but they will not give you a decision to make, they will leave you waiting and wondering if your pet is okay and then smack you with a big bill which leaves you no choice but to pay.

Thank You for reading stay safe and healthy

We brought our cat in when he was lathargic and stopped having bowel movements. The team was not only attentive but took Apollo in right away on one of the hottest day of the year. We were glad he didn't have to sit in the car. We were grateful for everyone's compassion, care and kindness.

My small dog somehow managed to grab a box of chocolate off the kitchen table, and she ate 100g late on a Friday evening. As soon as I realized what happened I started making calls. I hadn't heard of this place, but the 2 places that are closer to me weren't able to see us. I got the TAHP info from the 2nd place I tried. TAHP took us right away, for which I was very grateful as the best chance we had was if vomiting could be induced asap - which they did successfully. A few hours later she got an anti-nauseant and activated charcoal. My dog didn't have any symptoms on admission, but the because it was such a toxic dose for her size they were on the fence about recommending her to go home. The quote to admit her for observation was quite high, so given the absence of any symptoms I decided to bring her home and monitor overnight with the option to come back if she became symptomatic. All in it was $320 for an after-hours emergency trip to the vet, and more importantly my dog never developed even mild symptoms. She's totally fine. Very grateful this place was there for us.

I brought my 1 year old French bulldog here just after the holidays 28th of Dec due to vomiting blood, toronto Animal Health partner took him and decided that he needed to stay over night. They charged my card $2,656.60 after being told that it would cost $2,500 estimated amount I let them know that I couldn’t afford that they understood and took X-rays and other exams off stating the ultrasound will do. I got my pup back the fallowing day after getting a call from the vet in the morning I informed her that I had work at 9 & would be able to send my husband she then said they want to keep him to monitor that it wouldn’t cost me more! I picked up my pup at 5pm after work and was told I was charged more due to him staying there till 5! With no answers to what the problem was! NOW on January 14th 2021 they call me stating I was over charged and that they will refund the card I called hoping they can explain the charges and the terms used on the receipt so that I can clearly understand what was done to my pup worth nearly $3000 he didn’t get any surgery done & they write down what was done in medical terminology so you wouldn’t understand and don’t want to take they time to explain to you because they already have your money! I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS MONEY HUNGRY ANIMAL HOSPITAL TO ANYONE! SAVE YOUR WALLET & FUR BABY SOMEWHERE ELSE!

More than a year after my dog's death, and I still struggle when I drive down Leslie St.near this place. I told the doctor that I would never allow my dog to go under anesthesia because of his age and the risk of death. And what does she give him for a cat scan - general anesthesia. He died when we got home. SHE DIDN'T LISTEN! I will forever feel that I failed to protect my boy by trusting that doctor and this place.

I had to bring my dog in the other day and Animal Health Partners could not have been better. All of the staff I interacted with were pleasant and made me feel that my dog was in good hands. The vet made sure to go over all of the options with me as well as the respective prices and aided me in making an informed decision as to any further steps. I received a very thorough explanation of the medication and steps for the next few days when I picked her up. If I'm ever in need of an emergency vet again I would definitely come here again.
