Toronto Central Animal Clinic

A few months ago I took my dog to this clinic for a check up and they basically told me that my dog had every possible condition wrong with him and made it seem like he was going to die. I spent way more money than needed to make sure he was fine and then pushed to give him a tone of meds. I ended up taking my dog to two other vets for a second opinion, only to be told he was fine. Just be careful, this place is a money grab.

Dr Baudri is amazing and the staff are just as amazing.what a friendly group of people, they show care and compassion. Had my old guy put down here last year and Dr Baudri was so gentle and compassionate. Took our new puppy here for his first shots yesterday and they were just as wonderful as the last time. They take the time to answer questions and the prices are more than fair. My new pup got all the attention from staff. Only vet I'll use

I saw someone say their experience here was uncomfortable and that's the perfect way to describe it. Please read the following points before booking, I know it's long but hear me out.

Okay 1. The vet appeared very uncomfortable handling animals, he came in the room and pet my dog on the head with his pen? It was really bizarre, I've never had that kind of interaction from a veterinary professional in my life. Again so weird.

2. The vet kept cutting me off while I was trying to correct him on the information his assistant entered wrongly, and proceeded to lecture me about the importance of vaccines when I had just told/shown him records of my dog being vaccinated in the spring? Wasted a solid 15mins of our time, further proving he wasn't particularly interested in hearing what I had to say.

3. I would usually strongly disagree when people say veterinarians are money grabbers but this place definitely was, wanted to charge upwards of $1300 for the same care we ended up paying $500 for at a different clinic that was clean, up to date and full of empathetic staff.

4. Speaking of clinics this one was super dirty. The one exam room is kind of in the back treatment area, which appeared to be anything but sanitary and sterile. I wouldn't feel comfortable having my animal get any kind of mild or more invasive procedures done there.

Honestly, I wouldn't suggest this place even in a dire situation, after this experience, trust me, the ER cost somewhere else is well worth the quality of care you will receive.

Great and fast service. The doctors are really nice and my cat was being cared for properly. Thank you.

Dr. Badri is excellent, he is so knowledgable and I have only had perfect results, I have been going to Dr. Badri for almost 20 years. He also saved my Egyptian Persian Citrin, I am forever thankful. Prior to because his condition took him to the Guelph university hospital and I quite disappointed with these new doctors they have there now, very unhelpful. Dr Badri did what they failed to do on the checkup at the OVC.

Affordable to get testing and medication but not to put your animal down especially if it is a larger breed of dog. Easy to get to downtown parliament area right next to a shoppers drug mart - which is where I recommend to park rather than street parking out front as there is a lot of traffic in the area.

Extremely friendly staff, open 7 days a week! The vets are caring & take the greatest of care with your furry friend. I'm so glad I switched to them. Their rates are also reasonable and will not upsell you.

Dr. Badri and his team are amazing. They are always very professional and friendly. My appointments are always on time and the pricing is very reasonable. Highly recommended!

Not very compassionate at all. I called about compassionate euthanasia for my cat, who was dying of cancer. She was struggling and in her final moments. All they offered was a lowered price and that I would have to "dispose of the body myself. " It's so absolutely heartbreaking.
The last thing anyone needs in their companions' final moments is someone being monotone and heartless. Won't call this place again.
I ended up taking my cat to the Toronto Humane Society where they took care of everything and the staff there even hugged me for as long as I needed it and took a paw print of my pet and printed out her name on a card above her paw print.

I am not the type to write bad review but honestly I went there for the first time and it was THE WORST experience ever. The doctor is racist and had an inappropriate behaviour with me. The nurse are kind and professional but I wouldn’t put the life of my dog in this unprofessional vet. I don’t recommend at all this place there’s much better other Vet in Toronto.

Dr. Badri and staff have been caring for our pets for 30+ years. He is consistently professional and kind. When it came time to let our seniors go he came to our house so they could leave peacefully in comfortable surroundings I highly recommend Toronto Central Animal

Toronto Central Animal Clinic is an excellent example how veterinary clinics should treat their customers. They are accessible and welcoming in the time of emergency. Super responsive and very helpful when needed. They are serving pets with love and compassion and their services are affordable and efficient! Thank you Toronto Central Animal Clinic so much for being there for both of my cats! Looking forward continuing using your services.

They managed to see us last minute when every other vet in the area was full - immediately we were grateful. Our chihuahua can be veryyy feisty during vet visits but the staff took it in stride and managed to give him full treatment for a rather yucky cut on his face. Thank you team!

I had to take my 17 yr old poodle into the clinic yesterday to be euthanized. It was one of the hardest things I had ever had to do.
I was extremely impressed by the way the vets handled this situation with me. I had never been to this clinic before, but the way they made me feel so comfortable and supported was greatly appreciated.
The compassion they showed to my dog and to me was amazing.
Thank you for making this horrendous time less stressful for me and my beloved dog.

Pretty frustrated with the level of service for the price at Central Toronto Animal Clinic. Both of our pets have been patients for the last few years and in the last year in particular we have seen their prices soar and the level of service fall. Recently my dog was diagnosed with a degenerative heart condition which was relayed to me by Dr. Badri in a maybe 3 minute phone call with no explanations, no information on his life expectancy or what we should expect. He told me that he would need another cardiac ultrasound in 6 months (for another $1000 plus tax) and he would need medication. I had to do my own research to find out about the medication Dr Badri prescribed because I was given no information and now am being given the run-around in regards to filling his prescription so he might run out of the heart medication that he now needs to live.

Additionally, when I called them when my dog was experiencing a medical emergency (couldn't bear weight on his back leg) their only response was "We're full today. "

If we weren't moving to a different City we would have changed clinics already.

Horrible experience. I arrived and nobody said hello or introduced themselves. No one asked my name or to see my pet’s medical records. They just ushered me to an exam room. The technician seemed scared of dogs!

The staff and the doctor speak very poor English and maybe there is a language barrier but the technician asked the same simple question 6 times. And then the doctor came in. Didn’t introduce himself. Didn’t make eye contact. I am a physician so I have an understanding of professionalism expected of health care workers. I had to ask him his name and whether he was the vet! (Without making eye contact he said he was Dr Badri). He then asked the same question that the technician asked 6 prior times again and when I answered he didn’t seam to be listening (which was a simple stool history). I had to ask him to stop looking at the computer and make eye contact with me so he could listen to the answer and not ask it again! He then proceeded to examine my dog with zero introduction. He was so rough with my pet. Didn’t ask the pet’s name! Didn’t talk to the pet at all. He poked my pet in the cornea accidentally as he was roughly holding him. No treats. No water (I had to ask them for both!). There was blood from another animal on the floor of the exam room which I had to point out so my dog didn’t lick it accidentally!
Dr Badri couldn’t communicate clearly in English, and couldn’t comprehend my responses at all. Lastly, they charged me for a test they didn’t do, and thankfully I asked to clarify and they said oops “okay now your bill is a $100 less! ”

Worst clinic ever. Vets are EXTREMELY unprofessional and always make lots of mistakes. Not sure how they can be qualified. One of the technician called babak is pretty rude and arrogant. I’ve spent $3000 here to treat my cat but they made lots of mistakes that lost my cat’s best time to be treated. The result was pretty bad. The vets have limited knowledge in cats so please do not waste your time and money here.

The doctor at the Toronto Central Animal Clinic helped me when I was quite desperate and couldn't find help anywhere else. I will always appreciate it. My only hesitation for 5 stars is the length of time I waited, terribly upset with a profoundly ill dog who was euthanized once they finally saw her. I understand people can't always drop what they're doing, but the pain of watching my dog suffer while I could hear them chatting was heartbreaking. Ultimately though, I appreciate that they were willing to see her when others just said no.

Toronto Central Animal Clinic took my sick cat in on New Years Eve. Thorough examination and testing and my kitty left happy and purring like her old self. Caring and friendly staff!

Excellent clinic! Dr. Badri and the whole team have been amazing with my little Cavalier King Charles. I was not a client of the clinic but when I called and said I was worried about my dog vomitting, they arranged for an appointment immediately. They made me feel comfortable right away and Dr. Badri and the team have been very gentle and professional the whole way. My dog got proper treatment and recovered very quickly. Dr. Badri and his assistant followed up every day to check how my dog was feeling. Well, I really recommend this clinic and Dr. Badri has now become our new vet for our dog and cat.

Above and beyond what I expected from a veterinarian clinic and vet. My cats life was on the line and the house call was very much appreciated followed by an operation the following day. My cat' life was saved. Very happy. The value was worth it. Highly recommended by me.

Very friendly and took care of our cat very well. She recouped really fast. The price was also very good.

Dr. Badri and his assistant are very dedicated and answer all questions and inquiries with great detail. They give their 100% attention at all times. Makes it that much easier to trust them.

I really like the follow-up calls the clinic makes to make sure your pet is doing well.

The ladies at the front-desk are always pleasant and very welcoming.

The staff and doctor's is amazing. I being to other vet's my cats was not treated well. At toronto center clinical they treated my cats very well called to check how they were doing. I was so happy with their services

Great people, receptionist very friendly and great follow-ups to the appointment. Vet was calm and gentle with our pup - she didn't seem to mind the shots too much & it was over and done with quickly! It was a bit hard to hear what the vet is saying at times, because of the masks I think, but he didn't mind repeating himself for us and was very nice and explained things well.

I thought they were very friendly and informative. I did not feel rushed And my questions were all answered with informative answers and helpful take aways.

First time taking my new pup to this veterinarian. Staff were friendly and Dr. Badri was gentle and thorough while clearly showing genuine care for animals. I also appreciated the follow up call from his assistant.

I only try to write good reviews but I brought my cat in here because they were the only place open on Sunday and she was leaking fluid. They spayed her and a thousand dollars later she is still going into heat. I brought her back in and they said they would do the surgery again for the same price. There are much better vet options in the area like the Leslieville Vet Clinic. I am sure I am reviewing the correct place, my cat’s name is Aria.

I’ve tried this vet a couple times and every time I leave feeling like I’m leaving a store instead of a vet. Every single time I’ve gone here I feel like I’m being upsold services that I don’t need and charged for things I’m not made aware of. And when you refuse those services they make you feel like you’re doing harm to your animal.

I came here needing medication for my dog’s ears and left feeling uneasy.

My dog has a lot of anxiety coming to the vet and the only thing that makes my visit enjoyable is the interaction with the assistants. They make me feel comfortable and that they actually care about the well being of my dog. Unfortunately, the vet does not.

I’ve tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but I won’t be made to feel like a bad person for refusing to pay for things I don’t need.

If you’re looking into going here just keep in mind that they’re going to try to sell you things you don’t need and then make you feel like a bad owner for saying no.
