Not sure why people are complaining, we got there to just stay the nights, staff were absoulte LADS, everyone was great, polite and amazing, special shoutout to my guy at nights, tall indian fella.owners should really work on the proprety tho, this could be a JEWL, ill get a 1% cut and would put in hella work to make sure that this spot becomes the coolest there is (no joke, hmu, HA!)

Bigger, low key but renovated hotel with all the necessary amenities and friendly staff. We stayed in a king suite, the bed wasn’t great but overall the hotel and room had everything we needed in a location that was easy to get to and was convenient for our trip.

My stay at this hotel left much to be desired. The room had an unpleasant odor, lacked a lounge chair, and the dim bathroom lighting was far from ideal. Safety was a concern, exacerbated by challenging elevator accessibility for disabled guests. Additionally, the absence of included parking and outdated pool facilities, especially in colder weather, detracted from the overall experience. The limited amenities further contributed to a less-than-ideal stay.

Second visit there. Must say the breakfast buffet was amazing and the service there was so friendly! Our room was clean. Nice big flat screen on the wall beds were comfortable. The location well it's Toronto, especially being where the Don Valley is. Give yourself time to get there! Other than that we enjoyed ourselves!

I always wanted to stay here, because of the location, tucked away in the nature zone. Though there is so much scope for improvement and the current establishment would require significant financial injection to bring this hotel to the level it deserves. This includes the building, surrounding, walking paths that are needed, rooms, gym, swimming pool. One day, I hope and wish you best of luck.
The staff was professional and friendly.

The location is good, like in any other big city.
For me it may be a good location, but for someone else it is not.
It's a matter of each person's opinion or taste.

We stayed here for a short break the 9th to the 16th of September.
The hotel was easy to find and reception was helpful and really easy to check-in.

We were on the second floor and the room was large and had two double beds and the beds were very firm, and to my liking,
the bathroom had underfloor heating which was pleasurable.
The shower was hot and powerful.
The view was to the indoor pool. It was a very quiet hotel considering that it was full up.

Only problem was parking. Sometimes the car park was full up and we had to use the additional additional car park,
I will definitely come back to this hotel

Absolutely terrible. Do not think of being scammed by their promotional material. The pictures do not match the place. We travelled 4200km to get there. Arrived tired and ready to rest. Took one look & left. Would have been willing to sleep in rental car. Room #104 smelled like strong chemicals and ashtrays, sounded like the freeway outside, looked alarming with bubbles in the walls (lots) from previous floods, 2 dbl instead of queen beds. One of which had an ancient comforter with big hard lumps needing to be thrown out. Carpets were gross with holes and what looked like cat barf. All for the cheap price of $200.00 +. Call me crazy, but we left without any reservations anywhere. Luckily we found a replacement late that night and of course twice the price because hotels are filling up fast and availability is now low. In Toronto hotel rooms play like the stock market. Book really far in advance and read reviews.

The place is ABSOLUTELY disgusting. We found centapides all over the bathroom. And we found BED BUGS! We ended up checking out early and sleeping in our vehicle because we were so disgusted by this place.the place is atrocious

Everything was fine. Check in and check out was easy. Great location to nearby markets, malls and restaurants. Price was reasonable.

It was a great idea a long time ago. The staff was amazing but the hotel is overall run down. The rooms were large and clean. Swimming pools are also clean and warm for the kids to enjoy for a while before getting cold. Food wasn't edible. Once Toronto finishes the LRT project, it'll be an easy commute. For now, it takes about 45 min to get to the subway station by bus.

They NEVER answer the phone… front desk staff are dim witted and slow to understand telephone technology… I caught the clerk staring at it while a puddle of drool formed on the desk… they need tutoring.

Worst hotel ever. The staff is very rude they hung up the phone on me multiple times when I was just trying to ask a simple question. Mr.porter is the general manager and he told me he’s the owner of the hotel and that I shouldn’t waste his time and hung up the phone on me twice. The rest of the staff was also very rude. Rooms are never clean either, definitely not worth the price! Consider a different hotel cause this one is the worst.

Nov 7th 4 am shift. Worst experience with a front desk employee wearing metal glasses. Rude, disrespectful, unprofessional. Not coming back to this hotel

The amenities are nice, looks like a decent restaurant with affordable plates. The check in gentleman was just not interested in helping with the check in process.
The room, well. I've stayed in sketchier motels that had far nicer rooms. Everything is worn and could really use an update.
I had a good night of sleep at least.

Not a great experience. Found someone's discarded bottle of soda on the floor of our room, which doesn't instill confidence in cleanliness. We asked to have a couple spoons brought to the room and they said it would be a $3.90 charge unless we went down and got them ourselves. I have never experienced that at any other hotel. The wifi is incredibly slow, there is no minifridge (which I know isn't mandatory, but is pretty common), and despite being a non-smoking hotel the room smelled vaguely of smoke.

Couldn't even stay at the hotel - booking was done for an incorrect date and their "No refund" policy on the room meant that they would not even change the reservation to a different date - didn't even want the money back, just a place to stay! Out $150 for nothing. Terrible.

Honestly never going back. Stained grungy looking mattress and the heat wasn't working. This place has gone down hill over the years.

Like any hotel you look at the reviews and kinda made your own judgment.our stay had plus and negative thoughts.plus staff was nice.friendly.rooms not so great.dated.not like the pictures on website.bed very uncomfortable.pillows the same.tv didn't work sometimes and just turned on by itself middle of the night.don't know Toronto very well so happy they had room service.food was good.but a negative.someone not wearing a hair net.brought it to their attention.they took $2 off final bill for 2 night stay. $2 really? Happy they accept pet's not all do.but maybe why room wasn't so great.maybe with pet's you get lower grade room not sure.so all and just ok.not complaining to much cause prob not easy to run a motel in a big city.just the hair in the food that got me and they didn't do much to solve it.did offer a new salad but no thanks could trun out the same.did eat burger and it was good

Nice place, away from everything and close to everything at the same time. Nature, clean rooms, quiet and relaxing. 20 m8ns from downtown/concrete jungle. Would def visit again.

They switched us rooms after we complained about a problem with the outlet (fire hazard) and the whole floor smelling like smoke. We were really a lot happier with the room they switched us into, the staff were extremely nice and the new floor was a lot nicer, but I just found my baby trying to pick up and eat olive off the “clean” floor, it was NOT from us. Honestly this hotel needs a way better cleaning crew. I’m SO disgusted. I paid a lot of money to stay in a hotel that prides themselves in air quality and cleanliness and I arrive into dirty rooms with smoke in the air. Not to mention one of the cleaning ladies kept her mask off and came so close to talk to us. I’ve seen a few staff not following mask protocols which makes me feel very unsafe when I’m staying in a room that was “cleaned” by them. Last but not least, the indoor pool had a leak from the ceiling and there were little bugs in it. I’d definitely never stay here again and I’m really disappointed. I really have no complaints with the staff that helped out with us, they were so amazing, but I can’t give a good review to such a grungy place.

Worst Hotel Ever! Rooms are filled with Bed Bugs and unprofessional Staff. Not surprised how many other folks experienced bed bugs while reading these reviews. I have pictures and videos of bed bugs in my room (there were over hundred of bugs under the mattress). If you do stay in this hotel, please make sure you check the mattresses right away. Hotel will hire their own company to do an "investigation" and 99% of the time they will say they found nothing without showing you the actual report because it's "confidential". But then offer you an "upgrade" to stay quiet. What a joke! The Hotel Manager is the biggest joke of a "Manager" I have ever seen and should be ashamed of himself. If you want to waste your money and get bit by bugs, feel free to stay here!

Beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. Wi-Fi was extremely weak. Staff were friendly and on site restaurant was very good

What a disappointment. Started at check-in. I arrived at 1pm but since check in wasn't allowed until 3pm I had to pay $40 to get into my room early. What a joke considering the TV isn't working, and I can't order room service using the text service they encourage me to use in the guest directory in my room.
Next, my room smelled like a chain smoker had lived in it for 20 years. I asked about changing and was told that "smoking is prohibited, I must be mistaken".
When I called to find out what was happening with the TV and the room service the "customer service person" had attitude told me that due to the LTR installation going on in the city there was no Rogers service. Kind of makes it hard to watch the Leafs game. It's a good thing they charged me for early check-in. I would never stay here again. Avoid at all costs!

I thought we were in a third world country prison. Please avoid this hotel at all cost! Spend the extra amount on any other place. Parking is not free. Rooms smelled liked someone just finished a pack of cigarettes before we arrived. Cigarettes and needles on the balcony. Holes in the walls. Pool has mold all around it. Most gym equipment are broken. There were people telling all night. One man screaming and kids crying "mommy". We waited 15 minutes because staff was not present at the front desk when we checked in. Walls in the hallway were destroyed. Beds were uncomfortable. We had 2 beds and one was not done. Floor of bathroom was sticky. Furniture was broken. Even the champagne box was dirty. The towel rack was rusty.

We told the staff about our room smelling like smoke and the staff just said: "we will make note of it".

Really! If you want to make money and make a video about the worse hotel in pick this one.

I had good impression from first hour there, but later at night walking alone around the hotel i wouldn’t recommend, kinda sketch vibes. I also started reading other reviews and it made me pay attention more to details.

From first look beds were super comfy and clean, daily clean ups were nice, our ad said we get free breakfast but it was never free the whole time.made me upset. Front desk staff was nice, but when I called on phone to ask random questions the “ ok.bye “ was very quick after each question lol. Also no renting out movies

Inside poor was clean (it was dark), gym has good machines but being connected to pool makes the gym humid and stinky (chlorine)

It’s good for a quick night sleep but if u want a good hotel staycation maybe this isn’t the place for it (no free breakfast for price u pay, sketchy night vibes, room service closes at 9pm)

So apparently I’m lying about the situation and imagined the bed bug being there and those pictures were fabricated. The bug wasn’t there and there was no evidence of blood on the sheets. I imagined everything. Disgusting. Guests or future guests I’m writing this review so you don’t have to experience what I’ve gone through.don’t risk bringing back bed bugs to your homes. I identified the bites due to be sent I’ve and check my sheets and found one on the pillow case. I was was told that the investigation hasn’t been completed so your lying about the situation.

The beds were not really comfortable, wallpaper was coming down off the walls. It was clean and the staff was friendly.air conditioning was ancient and didn't keep the room cool. I probably wouldn't stay there again

Not worth the $, regardless of room rate offered, it appears the area has been rezoned for condominiums and you cannot help feel whoever manages and/or owns the property now is doing everything possible to ensure it is a cash cow, unfortunately guests are the milk and you will be thrown under the bus. Outrageous fee's for rooms that look as though they haven't been renovated since it was a Holiday Inn decades ago.

Value is great. $25 per person for the use of the pool, if you eat and drink for more than that, it's free.lots of room, clean and Chris is very friendly and professional

The hotel is mediocre at best. The part that really rubbed me the wrong way is they charge you for parking and it says nowhere on their add and nobody addressed this when checking in. First and last time I'll be staying here. You also can't even smoke on the balcony but someone was very obviously smoking inside the building.

We booked thinking it was a different location. Not impressed by the clientele on arrival. We had our young son with us. It appeared locals were having stay-cations, hallways smelled of pot, "working girls" were headed up the elevator. Staff had to manage there policies based on current clientle - they actually put extra charge through on our credit card for a security deposit then refunded at checkout (as opposed holding number -pre-authorized in case of additional costs) quite Disappointed.ick.

If you are looking to stay in a thread bare, noisy hotel with marginal service then this place is for you! From the first encounter, with front desk staff to the last, this trip was a revelation of what poor service really is! If you enjoy pink mold on your shower head, indifferent service, noisy hallways and sketchy clientele it is great! BTW I encourage you to delouse if you choose to walk barefoot in your room.oh and bring your own soap!

It's a aged hotel.it has an nice indoor and out door pool but no hot tub. The room was nothing special and still had the smell of old cigarette, our room had a walk out balcony but the door handle was broken and wouldn't lock. Also the bed frames were not the right size for the bed and i clocked my ankle on the frame. We didn't bother with breakfast as the 2 eggs was 16$. Parking is also an extra 13$ I think. Overall okay hotel not great when there's no included breakfast and you gotta pay for parking.

This hotel was so nice, quiet and clean. The pool is great, little bit dirty but big and nice. Stayed for 3 days and had the best time of our lives:)

I want to meet those ppl who give 5 or 4 star to this hotel they need to see some doctor…. The worst and the stupid staff I see in my whole life…the management was very unprofessional they had zero communication skill the behaviour was soooooo rude the price was very high there was hidden parking feees which was around 15 dollar ech day…if u see all surrounding area the all 5 star resturant offer free parking…there was no microwave not even drinking water…the towel was all used I payed 180 dollar just becuse of location I could esly find 5 star resturant on 110 with best customer service…. I will not prefer to any body if u go for any cheap motel which charge u 50 dollar each day is far better then this useless place…

Someone's dirty towels were in our bathroom. Bathroom door didn't lock. AC didn't work. A guy took our fridge. Room wasn't ready when we arrived after 3pm. I accidentally left something in my room and they were so rude about it that they made me cry. Male staff member kept touching me (female) to "comfort" me which made me extremely uncomfortable. I will never be returning, not worth the money.

I had a great stay at the TDV. The staff was excellent, and beds were comfortable.
It could use some updating, but I feel like the important points have been tended to (mattresses, in-floor heating in the bathroom, etc.) Overall, for the price, it was very good.

Stayed in the deluxe “renovated” room. Not bad price wise. The bathroom could use some updating. The reason for the low review is because the hotel front desk staff are very rude and have no idea about customer service. Because of them I don’t know if I’d ever check back in.

I stayed for new years eve so I didn't have super high expectations considering the chaos that Nye brings, however my night wasn't bad. I had a deluxe king room with balcony that was quite relaxing even tho the view was of the parking lot (I requested garden view). Bed was pretty comfortable. Bathrooms need serious upgrades tho. Bath tub looks like one you'd see in a hospital room, way too low for me and didn't appear very clean. Felt like the bathroom floors were heated so that's a plus. Don't know if id stay here if your looking for 5 star accommodations but if your looking for decent enough and affordable this is a good option.

Was dirty inside the units always out of the elevator it smelled like pot smoke there were cigarette smoker in the bathroom stunk of cigarettes did not like it all

The price was right as it was lockdown, but the room was showing its age. The Windows needed replacing and the decorating was old and tired. In room amenities were sparse. The heat was good though, and the beds were comfortable.

Excellent clean quiet polite staff all over the hotel & that is one great breakfast buffet & the price is right. This hotel is our stop over when in Toronto. Close to DVP downtown & 401. What more could you ask for.

Not hated, as visited that day was to my Son & daughters Baby shower as they live in the bld'g next to it. She's almost here. Hopefully by her due off Sat, Dec. 22,2018

Horrible, disgusting behavior from staff and management. Rooms were paid but constant phone calls from the front desk regarding payment. When that was finally resolved they demanded new deposits and were rude with every person they spoke with. I was verbally attacked by staff and management and threatened to the point of demanding a refund where they then escorted my 1 month old granddaughter and daughter from the hotel at 8 pm into the cold. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Stayed for one night on an extra/ rollaway bed. The bed itself felt very springy, and I doubt I would have enjoyed a second night on it. The hotel was alright with decent facilities, but very busy hosting some sort of conference.
Not the best location to see Toronto, but convenient if you've got to do something or see someone in the area.

Gross room. Sheets were filthy. Room covered in weird stains. A half full water bottle was left in the room, most likely from the past guest, railing was rotting on the balcony. There was a huge blood or vomit stain running down the side of the mattress. The room smelled like wild animals were living there. I can't believe they would give a room like this to anyone. The place seemed empty, so this must have been one of their best rooms to give. I didn't even stay the night, I walked out of this hotel. Lesson learned, don't let someone else book your hotel.

Oreillers et literie sale, mauvais service à l'entrée, parking payant 12$ plus taxes par jour non compris et ça sent le pot à grandeur et le renfermé. Nous sommes vraiment déçues. On a changé d'hôtel.

The plus points are the rooms are not bad for a 3star hotel little the furture needs replacing but the rooms was clean. The reason i give it 1 star and would not stay agian is the staff are poorly tried not welcoming and argumentative. The manager on duty was good and very proffesional but the other staff need to be sacked or retrainined. The biggest probelem is the hotel seems to be used by Chinese school so it was noise and lots of food smells seem more. Student accomdation.

Love this hotel. It's quiet, clean, has a lovely pool and is a great price. A good place to stay if taking the kids somewhere in TO for the weekend, or to stay at when going to a show at the Danforth Music Hall.

All parts of our stay at the hotel were as expected; front desk service was prompt, the quad-room was spacious and clean, though elevator wait times could be long due to one out of order.

The good: The best part about this hotel is the indoor pool and the taxi/concierge man. My check-in was nice. The young Asian woman that helped me was very kind.

The bad: I did not realize how pricey it would be from the airport or from everything else, by taxi. The location is only worth the discount if you are driving/renting a car, or have to be near the Ontario Science Center.

Why 2 Stars: Disappointing - Having read previous reviews, I thought I would be OK if I booked a Deluxe King Room w/ a View. Unfortunately, the room still felt stale and my CONJOINED room had a view of the parking lot. In 2018, I didn't even realize you would still have "Deluxe" rooms connected to other rooms, never-mind assigning them to a solo female traveler. It didn't occur to me that it would be a problem until I woke up to three men having a friendly conversation in French. (If I understood French I could tell you their entire conversation.) When I mentioned this before I ventured out the next day, the guy at the front-desk was very defensive and all he had to say was that I needed to request a room that isn't connected. I was only there for two nights, so I bought earplugs to get through the second night, however I think my neighbors had checked out that day.

SO! If you book a rook here, be advised you must get an updated room, which they call deluxe, request that it is not connected, and on the 4th floor or above, actually facing the garden or something. The balcony for me was a complete waste.

I've also never stayed in a hotel where the front desk staff openly complained about their management/jobs. I had high hopes and even downloaded the app. I don't think this hotel knows who they are, what kind of hotel they want to be, or what kind of traveler they want. Overall the hospitality at a basic level was severely lacking and I was quite disappointed. At check-out no one even asked me how my stay was. A basic question, even if you don't mean it.

My take: You're better off splurging on a hotel closer to the city, unless you're traveling for business or only want to stay exclusively in the area by the hotel. Oh, and families or wedding parties that still want conjoined rooms are def.welcome.

Decent hotel with your standard needs met. The bar/bistro was reasonably priced and food was good. Heated bathroom floor! I never knew I needed this in my life!

Room was clean, if a bit dated and worn. Wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling in places, and the heating wasn't great. Staff was professional and courteous, but lacked warmth and friendliness. A bit pricey for what you get (especially considering breakfast is not included), but it's not outrageous and I wouldn't mind staying here again if I needed to be close to the Ontario Science Centre.

The room had clothing left from a previous guest on the floor. The lighting in the rooms is not great with most of it being lamps you have to manually turn on one by one. Cleaning staff hurried me out on the check out day as they wanted to clean my room. Most staff were unhelpful/rude if you had questions.

Aufgrund einer Rundreise mit Reisebus durch Kanada Ost übernachteten wir 2 Nächte im Don Valley Hotel. Die Zimmer sind typisch nordamerikanisch mit 2 großen Queensize-Betten. Das Bad ist recht klein. Die Zimmer sind sauber und ordentlich. Das Personal ist überall sehr freundlich.  
Das Frühstück wurde für uns als Reisegruppe in einem extra Raum zur Verfügung gestellt. Es gab Rührei, Toast, Marmelade, Kartoffeln, Obst, Poritsch, Kaffee, Tee, Saft. War nicht so toll, aber man wird satt. Wir haben aber gesehen, dass für normale Gäste ein umfangreiches Frühstücksbuffet geboten wird.

Das Hotel verfügt über einen Innen- und Außenpool sowie eine Bar und Bistro und einen Shop in dem mam Souvenirs, Knabberzeug, Getränke und Eis kaufen kann. Fußläufig oder per Taxi oder Bus in ca. 2,7 km gibt es Einkaufszentren und Bars.
