This hotel exceeded my expectations in every aspect. The staff was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and tastefully decorated. The amenities, from the luxurious toiletries to the well-equipped fitness center, added to the overall experience. The on-site dining options were exceptional, offering a diverse and delicious menu. With a prime location and outstanding service, this hotel truly made my stay memorable. Highly recommended for both business and leisure travelers!

We stayed there this past weekend and everything was amazing. When we checked in we were greeted by Nas who is incredible. Very friendly and kind. She was very informative and knowledgeable which we appreciated. I would definitely stay at this location again. Thank you Nas for the incredible service you gave us.

Its a nice hotel in center of Markham, ON. It has clean rooms, courteous service, a well equipped gym, beautiful lobby with comfortable seating.

I must say, their staff is very helpful, specially the reception guy (from Srilanka).

Great hotel! They really acknowledge and provide benefits for higher tier members, with lounge access for breakfast and discounted parking. Not sure if the lounge access would be worth paying for though.

The rooms were great and sizeable, and noteworthy service in quickly getting a crib to our room.

Not sure why there are complaints about parking since it's semi attached and there are no other options in this town center area.

Paid with points+cash so can't comment of if this would be worth more than what we paid.

Booked the Royal Suite. The best room at this location.

Not worth the price. Nothing to be excited about even if you get upgraded.

Furnishings and decoration has coating of dust. (to be fair I dont mean everywhere) But if you look closely at some of the accent decor in the room you are pretty much breathing this in. Carpet decor is filthy. I moved a chair and the carpet was slightly moved, you can literally see piles of dust sitting underneath.

24/7 Room service means they will bring things to you etc. If you use the Marriot Bonvoy app you can request everything in advance (extra towels, extra amenities etc.) which makes the 24/7 room service more of a gimmick than something actually useful. I ordered a late night meal at the front desk and they just pointed at some container items sitting in their fridge. Late night meals are not fresh. Its premade in a container sitting in the fridge. I wouldnt recommend ordering this.its a $15.00 dry sandwich. Fruits are not fresh either they were mushy. I did not feel comfortable trying the yogurt parfait because of the other food items listed above.

No complimentary breakfast at this location which I thought was an industry standard for any hotel in this age. I dont usually eat breakfast so not really a big deal for me.

Amenities are nice. Shampoo. Conditioner, Body gel and other small useful things.

Service of the hotel was okay. They were as accommodating as they could be. There are some service standards I disagree with but that could just be me. Such as you should not offer a late checkout for a guest that is staying the night prior if the next guest is requesting an earlier check in. (I did not ask them to kickout the guest staying the night before, just consider the request of the next hotel guest. I even put a request for early check in a week prior.) Although I ended up leaving some of my luggage for the hotel to hold while I go about my itinerary for the day. It would be nice to have a place to wash up.

Use exact change for the vending machines inside the hotel. They will steal your change. I am sure this just needs to be serviced. The front desk was nice enough to credit my final bill for the change lost.

If I need to book another room in the future I would choose Marriot again. However I would only choose their basic room as their "highest tier room" is far from anything special for this location. Its just extra space. You can book 2 rooms that can be connected for cheaper if you just need the space. I brought my partner for a celebration and although they might not be as picky about some of the things I mentioned above, It was not worth the money at all. If you want a special night for you and your partner look elsewhere for the same price point.

Friendly and helpful staff services!

Great location too though there isn't a pharmacy/proper grocer open close by as compared to the Hilton which has No Frills/Shoppers Drug mart just across the property.

Rogers had a WiFi/Telco outage for about 2 days causing the hotel to not have WiFi and front desk phone services were disconnected towards the end of July 2023 in Markham during my stay here.

I guess this is normal/acceptable in Canada?

Like not having electricity in some cities 20years ago but this wasn't the fault of the hotel.

Great and comfortable stay overall.

This hotel is very new and is wonderful. My husband and I stayed here after our wedding. We absolutely loved it, the rooms are spotless, and the staff is very friendly.

We had a very enjoyable weekend stay at The Marriott in downtown Markham. My partner and I were celebrating our union that weekend, but didn't make a big deal about it. When the staff at the front desk heard, they pulled out all the stops, ensuring gifts of sparking wine and desserts were placed in in our room every night of our stay. The hotel staff were incredible, going above and beyond to cater to our every need. We especially need to shout out Watson, the wait staff at the Draco restaurant, who was the Master Host for our family celebration on our second day. Our family has been gushing about Watson ever since.

I am a fan of the Marriott. They kept their property clean and modern, staff at the lounge are polite and always helpful. The food and drinks at the M Club are good and I love their freshly baked cookies. During early dinner, they offer snacks (salad, cheese, samoza, etc) and light dinner (baked chicken casserole, etc).

I thought it was a little weird that their bar was only open from 5pm to 11pm on a Saturday night. Other than that it was a really nice place, with spacious rooms.

Our room was very nice but we had a sour experience because of rude staff. Someone at the front desk assumed we stole something (we didn't) and charged our room without letting us know or confirming if the products were stolen or paid for. We cleared the misunderstanding but didn't receive any apology. Came here as guests and got treated like thieves. Won't be back and won't recommend this place to anyone else.

Usually this hotel is a great experience. But this time our door locking mechanism was broken. After 3 failed attempts to fix it. We eventually changed rooms. Very frustrating 2 days.

Jasmine and Stella were very kind and warming. After a very long drive and even longer day it was great to be treated so nicely. If I'm ever needing another stay in this area, I'll be sure to stay here. Rooms are extremely clean and beautiful.

We stayed at this hotel for our business trip in Toronto. Nothing else but compliments for the great staff, good ambiance and bar/restaurant. Watson, the Dutch guys will be back!

Not a big fan! A little disappointed. Today is my last day at the hotel, been here for 7 days, very clean, nice and spacious room but not happy with the service. $4.50 for a cup of coffee? I would rather but Starbucks… $2.50 for a bottle of water, stayed here for a week but we couldn’t get complimentary bottles of water!
Asked for house keeping, they forgot any nobody showed up to clean the room, called to ask what happened they apologized no doubts but they had to reschedule the house keeping for the day after seriously? The housekeeping lady didn’t check that I had my bikini hanging for drying I come back my bikini top is missing, I just see the underwear hanging. She took it with the towels I guess! Waiting to see if they found it, no courtesy to even let me know because this was 2 days ago, I had to call and ask.
No hairdryers in the room. Coffee box doesn’t not get replenished when house keeping is done.
Asked for house keeping again after 2 days, called to ask if they were done so I can come back to the room, the response was I don’t know, we need to check, let me call you back and let you know. She took my number and said she will call me back, 3 hours later I was still waiting for a phone call. I had to call them back to ask and confirm.
I have been to many marriots this one did not match up to the standards!
So 3 stars only for cleanliness, the floor guy who was nice and kind.

Myself and my Husband got married this past Oct and we used Toronto Marriott Markham as our Wedding day hotel. The rooms were beautiful and the service wonderful. Thank you so much for helping make our special day even better.

Very bad experience. There is a door on the wall between my room and the stranger next door that can pass through. The sound insulation is poor. The stranger next door coughs, talks, and quarrels can be heard clearly at 7: 30 in the morning. Not recommended

Very nice and reasonable place to stay. Rooms were large and bed was comfortable. The staff was super nice and all safety protocols were being followed. Contract tracing is requirements are followed. Will definitely stay next time I am in town.

Stayed here last week, all members of the staff were always friendly and very helpful. The room was great, amenities are awesome and the best part are the vouchers for the breakfast and appetizers at their restaurant. The restaurant food was great and the staff was also very helpful and gave great recommendations.

Some of the best service from a hotel I’ve had in awhile. The rooms clean and modern and the food options in the area are great. Definitely try Draco, the food is incredible.

I am NOT talking about the stay experience but I am rating their banquet facilities and overall feel of the hotel. I MC'ed a wedding here and it was a lovely, modern spot. The food even came out on time, something which I have never experienced before in my career. I also like how swanky everything feels. The only issue is that we had some lighting issues which I had to run out to repeatedly talk to some staff members as we had no contact with any hall managers during the night.

My review period is for 2021 mid-Sept timeframe - Friendly staff - Staff recognizes your Bonvoy Elite Status - Clean room - Looks modern - Internet speeds is Download 40Mbps / Upload 40 Mbps - Suggestion for a view is a room facing west or east if available, as south and north has building blocking views - Parking not included, $20 dollars per day (due to this, minus 1 star as this is not downtown Toronto).

Worst hotel to say at, management does not care about customers. They only care about money, they have been charging customers extra for unnecessary cleaning fees and extra charges to gain back revenue for the amount the lost during covid. I warn you not to stay here unless you want to pay triple the amount of the actual stay here. They don’t care about anyone but themselves.

While the overall hotel itself was beautifully decorated and very modern I wanted to leave a review to outline a major issue that had occurred on February 15,2021. Parking instructions were not relayed properly by hotel staff which resulted in a parking ticket. I have noticed poor customer service and overall poor management. Instead of explaining to your guests and failing to give proper direction there needs to be a sense of accountability taken. What I would like to know is if you are working with the city to invalidate tickets what steps are you taking to put this into action? You can’t blame your guests for receiving parking tickets when this was an error on your employees. Will you be taking appropriate measures in addressing proper customer service with your employees? I am highly upset with what had occurred and instead of compensating for this mishap the responsibility of paying the ticket goes to the guest? That’s absolutely not right on many aspects. There really should not be any excuses for something like this.

Was trying to book either the presidential or exec suite for my wedding and tried to schedule tour. I went in person and was told I had to call in to book an appointment. Okay cool. Called in and was told I can't tour because of privacy issues. That makes sense if the suite was occupied, but I was thinking of touring when it was vacant. I clarified that to the person on the phone and they then said due to COVID, I couldn't tour. To which I asked whether or not staff can take clearer pictures + vids of the room for me since there were very few pictures online. She responded due to privacy, that cannot happen. What privacy issue? Again, can you not wait until the room is vacant? Made negative sense to me. I was then told I could take whatever video I wanted once I booked the room. Well obviously. But I was just trying to compare the two rooms before booking. I was 99% going to book once I found out more but the way she was speaking on the phone to me turned me away.

Had a very bad experience with this hotel. Stayed here for one night and ended up getting charged triple the amount on extra fees. Poor management, very rude and incompetent employees. Lack of customer service by both management and employees. If it were possible, I would give a 0 rating, however luckily for them I can only give a 1 rating. I do not recommend staying at this hotel, they just want to charge you extra fees after your stay and honestly it is not even worth it.

I chose the Mariott Markham because it was the newest hotel in the downtown Markham area. With that being said, Im sure with a new hotel, comes new staffs. This is where the problem came into place, unlike other hotels, the parking area is not connected to the hotel. When I asked the front desk staff Chanel who checked me in, she seemed VERY unclear about the parking even after i stated id like to park. I had to tell her for the second time since she brushed off my request the first time. In her exact words "The parking space is to the right of the hotel, you'd just have to enter via the ramp and park anywhere upstairs", "The parking ticket doesn't have to be in the car, it can be taken with you". The next morning, upon check out, I got to my car to find a parking fine from the city of Markham for "Unauthorized parking". I went back to the front desk and the representative that checked me out told me that I needed to enter a gate, and parking for the Mariott is only on certain floors. I was not apologized to or compensated for the incident. I called the hotel to speak to a Manager regarding the incident, when called, the same person who checked me out answered stating they'd "pass the phone to a manager" but paused & proceeded to speak to me claiming he was the manager lol, well if he really was the manger, Im sure his training was very poor or maybe they just have garbage management. Also the hotel is short staffed, when I requested water to the room, I was told to come down to the front desk to grab it lol. All i'm saying is, out of every hotel i've stayed at (Ive stayed at almost every hotel in Toronto) this was by far the WORST service i have received. Thanks for getting me a parking ticket Chanel due to your poor communication/instructions, and thanks a-lot to the supposed Management for absolutely nothing.

Tldr: Payed for parking & still got a parking ticket because Chanel's communication/instruction skills were poor, Management did nothing to help & proved how unprofessional they really are at the Toronto Mariott Markham. 0/5 stars if I could =).

Stayed here for a staycation during New Years weekend the staff was welcoming and helpful - especially Leo at the front desk! The rooms and common spaces seemed clean and well kept. Wish We could have eaten at some of the many restaurants in the area but unfortunately due to COVID restaurants are closed for indoor dining and most close at 9pm for takeout. Would absolutely recommend! Will definitely be my go to Hotel if I want another staycation just outside of Toronto.

From the check in to check out experience— this has been the best stay we’ve ever had! Concierge was polite and knowledgeable, addressing us by name. The room is spacious and clean, very well kept; but due to covid rooms are not being made by housekeepers beyond the first night so we had to call for new linen, which arrived quickly as well. The hotel also has parking in a garage directly across that is very convenient to access at all times. I would highly recommend staying here whether it’s a staycation or visiting for the 5 star treatment!

This is my all time favourite Marriott due to the modern design, surroundings, and most importantly the staff. They're absolutely phenomenal. I had the pleasure of getting assistance from Hamid and he had be tremendous by handling our isse late at night and putting all his efforts to fix the problem. Highly recommend this location.

They had the gym opened which I liked. You get 1h to train at the gym all by yourself. The only thing I didn’t like about that is that we couldn’t reserve a spot. You change into your sport clothes go down and maybe you will have the gym maybe not and you will have to wait one hour. Please allow guests to reserve an hour. The room was clean and comfortable.

My favorite hotel in markham. Staff is friendly rooms are super roomy lol. Very modern design. Pro tip. Currently you can park kn the side for free instead of paying for the indoor parking (saving a few bucks). The restaurant is ok but not great. The m level is nice but nothing to write home about don t pay more than 20$ above normal room rate for it

We stayed in Feb 2019 and could not have been happier. The only issue was that the elevator in the parking garage was not working, so taking luggage down was difficult. We definitely will be choosing this hotel if the need arises.
